141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: April 15, 2024, 06:12:46 PM
Generally we don't like to be seen as a loser, we just want to get back what we lose and in gambling it's not really possible in that way so one more lose then we lose entirely. They are ignoring the basics of betting which shows the are ready to do anything just to achieve the results which can be due to greediness or addiction according to the situations.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 15, 2024, 03:53:07 PM
I was walking down my street this evening I saw some group of guys in a hidden corner of an uncompleted building playing WHOT games ordinarily I felt they are just spending usual time as friends and that they are playing the WHOT game to keep themselves busy while discussing.

But when I got closer to them I discovered that there was a dirty container close to them and inside the container is money they bet for the game they are playing , and if not careful observed you will never believe that they are playing bet games .

My curiosity led me closer to them I was interacting with one of them and at same time observing what they are doing , one thing I observed was that they stake with huge amount and they don’t give you change even when your money requires change instead you will use it and bet for another round.

So at this point I decided to bring it here to know or see different views from different intellects here on why do some people hide just to gamble or if it is the best way to gamble ?.

This is unregulated business cause one who operates will not pay taxes to the government which is the obvious reason why they chose to hide from the public and if someone reports their activity then they are at the risk of getting prisoned.

You should not be involved in such gambling in my opinion, imagine you won a bet that can clear the entire bank roll of the table then I am sure one who runs will not pay you the money instead threaten you to leave without making any attention.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 15, 2024, 08:32:04 AM
The future outcomes doesn't really has to be dependent on the past incidents so saying the predictions by supercomputer is going to affect the betting industry is just BS. There is no alternative to find the future other than time machine so don't worry about the sport betting industry until we get there also don't waste your money by trusting the calculations of finding the results of a game.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Geopolitical Tension and its effects on Gambling on: April 15, 2024, 07:33:31 AM
Do people gamble less when they see such tensions around the globe?

Will the gambling sites/bookies will have an impact on this situation?

Not at all, People don't really stop doing their activities just because someone is dropping bombs on someone else and probably they don't even have any idea of what's happening. It will affect the people who are living in the regions and nearby and they can't even live a normal life and everyone else will do their chores as usual.

And the effect on other countries depends on where the wars are happening not who is involved.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: April 14, 2024, 02:08:10 PM
It's obvious that casinos makes more money than players if they are actually operating. Let's say 1000 players bet on a game and the bet amount is $10 so even if everyone bet once casino get 10K as profits and surely they have to pay the rewards which depends on their RTP of games and even if it's 80% still casino make 2K as profits from this scenario.
146  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Can I Recover a Mobile Wallet on Desktop Using 12-Word Phrases on: April 14, 2024, 06:08:52 AM
It's a shame that you didn't know that in few years of your forum journey, anyway it's better late than never.

Imagine 12 words seed is a key that can access your wallet from any device, so yeah as long as you have 12 words or sometimes a part of it can recover the wallet and you can even destroy the wallet after creating the wallet and seeds once you have offline backups which primarily called as paper wallet.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I don't get the whole USDT thing on: April 14, 2024, 04:40:09 AM
I don't do leverage and futures, I recommend you not to do it as well.

You shouldn't need VPN to access a site and if you do then it's not available in your region/country which probably blacklisted by the government itself so never risk your money on such platforms.

Ok, I open an account, go to deposit some money, and it's impossible. It wants USDT... a coin to buy a coin (?)... ok, so I go to buy some USDT with good ole USD and it says I'll get 900 for my $1000. This ain't making much sense. What happened to a simple USD account.

Then I wonder how I'd withdraw to my bank, and I read "Enjoy selling Tether with transaction fees as low as 1% for bank transfers"

USDT is one of the token that has most pairs, so if you are looking to buy particular coin or token then you should have any coins that's paired with that and that's how trading in centralized exchanges works.

900 USDT for 1000USD is bit surprising because USDT can swing around .98USD and very rare beyond that so the exchange you are accessing lacks liquidity so you are forcing to pay higher to get tokens, again not a good sign for a trading platform.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrity Poker Games: Publicity Stunt or Genuine Passion? on: April 13, 2024, 06:02:12 PM
Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about the influx of celebrities in the poker world and other gambling arenas. We’ve seen actors, sports stars, and musicians joining high-stakes games, some even participating in world-renowned tournaments. This got me wondering: is celebrity involvement in gambling merely a publicity stunt, or is there a genuine passion for the game behind the scenes?

Do you think their participation helps to popularize the game and bring it to a wider audience, or is it just another platform for their publicity?

Any your thoughts and any stories or cases of celebrity gambling that caught your attention. Have you come across any celebrities who are serious about their gambling pursuits? Or do you feel like these appearances are more for show than for the love of the game?

Celebrities are also humans who may have the urge to gamble and poker is a show off place for them just to get the spot light on to them when they aren't getting media attention and there are also who are actually into different games when they are at their peak.

Presence of celebrity will surely bring more attention about the tournament and who knows the casino itself pulling a public stunt to make it happen.
149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what would I do, if I paid for coin and the seller refused to release it. on: April 13, 2024, 03:39:23 PM
Traders going offline is rare scenario and you no need to worry as long as the funds are being in the escrow, even if the trader never came back online still mod can release the coins from escrow but it will take upto 48 hours in P2P exchanges.

Other possible reasons for a trader to refusing is the payment made via third-party name which isn't acceptable by most traders cause they worry about chargeback and funds laundered from hacked bank accounts.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 13, 2024, 06:46:44 AM
That claw machine is difficult when you play it; you need two other tokens to play it. It's rare to win that claw machine, but there are others who are obsessed with it and have fun with it because the others seem to have a technique to do it. And I don't know what that is.

Second, can that be considered gambling? because you are not betting on anything, but once you can drop a token, then you can perform clawing; whatever you get that can be stuck
in the claw is yours.
A few months ago, I even found it in my brother's shop.
Claw machines like this have been set so that claws are not easy to grip dolls, so more experiments will be done to try to take dolls.

Believe it or not, according to some people or according to technicians, there are several techniques that can be done such as swinging the claw and then dropping it or waiting until the claw time ends, or before the claw drops automatically.

I tried everything but some did fail, but sometimes with the swing technique I can pick up some dummy with a lot of trying.
If this is said to be gambling, maybe it could be like that because there will be an addictive effect to keep trying and trying again until you get a doll.

Claw machines come under the arcade games category not really under gambling but for the sake we can say we spent a penny to take that call. Claw machines are rigged but users who has skills know how to make use of it, like you said swinging technique is one of the effective method to get the prize but we don't really play for the prize but just to experience it right?
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would a gamblers statistics in graph and chart form, be of any help? on: April 12, 2024, 03:24:13 PM
Would a data showing the users statistics in graph and chart form, comparing ones gambling habit over a duration, help to curb gambling addiction or enforce strict control?

If graphs, charts and diagrams could help a company or startup to project and know the progress the company or business has made annually or periodically, with concise economic details and investment as well as returns, then don't you think gambling and betting sites should have such user statistics presented in chart form and readily available upon just a click, to the user, so that it helps them know if they have become addicted knowingly or unknowingly and as such, gain control over their gambling or betting habits?

What do you think?

Casinos do offer viewing the profile progress of user in chart form and others show in different graphics but we can track our progress for sure on every casino then why we still have people addicted to gambling?

It can help us to track our profits and loss but I don't think it will be helpful in dealing with addictions at all.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Betting. Why the Distinction? on: April 12, 2024, 01:31:18 PM
The word gambling/gamble can be used in more wider perspective than just for the actual gambling while betting usually denotes some amount of money at stake. Google shows results from the Wikipedia it's just written by someone and can be edited by anyone so if you want to look out the meaning then both defines the same with slight differences and as long as you understand what it denotes there is no issue at al.
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When you make mistakes, do not fail to take corrections. on: April 12, 2024, 07:57:23 AM

Sometimes you might feel you're making the right points, giving your opinions about some threads but do not feel threatened when someone quote you wrong, try to prove yourself right if you're sure of your points or take corrections if you discover they're right. Note that no one knows it all and there are lots of people on here that might be far more inteligent than you, so sometimes instead of arguing it's best to take corrections and learn.

No one knows everything and that's the reason we all are here to learn something. Forum does treat everyone equally whether you are new or here for years the rules are same.

Quoting or posting wrong is not a crime but when someone make it as a habit that's when things go south ways and those attitude will not be tolerated at all, other might try to educate you that you may feel little harsh but that's how the internet works. You need to have thick skin to face the criticism of you want to learn something that you don't know.

Do you know that at Duelbits, there is a Plinko game.

Hours ago, a Duelbit user bet with $6.8 and won big with $68,000 to cash out. The multiplier used for that bet is 10,000, it's unbelievable that the gambler used it and won with it.

🔥We've just had one lucky Duelbits player hit a MASSIVE X10,000 multi on Plinko! Walking away with $68,000.00 on ONLY a $6.80 bet!

😎Quite the opposite of dropping the ball!

Check out Plinko on Duelbits and we hope to post about your wins as well! 👇

Plinko is one of my casino game, that I play to beat my boredom but I never got this lucky. Sad

Why God, why not me. Roll Eyes

That's really a big draw and whoever won probably the most happiest on that day.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Received a payment with low fees, stuck already for 3,5 days now on: April 11, 2024, 06:48:08 PM
Just like many other members here have spotted out, the fee used to broadcast that transaction is very low. Observing the mempool for a week now , lowest priority fees have been around about 7 - 9 sat/bytes. Judging from this it may take weeks or even forever for such transactions to be confirmed. However the few couple of options I think you can take is either you convince the sender to bump the fee ( if he initially enabled RBF) . Or alternatively you can make use of accelerators probably via BTC. Since their free service have been flooded with bots lately, you can opt for a paid acceleration.

We shouldn't have to convince anyone if we are ready to few bucks from our pocket and that's the only way if the funds are coming from custodian service. ViaBTC free acceleration works these days and anyone who meet 10 sat/byte or 18sat/vb can do it for free but now we have only 20 free slots. Paid acceleration should not be recommended unless there is no other way.

Not a good idea to do CPFP with this transaction it would cost much if you do CPFP I suggest wait for the transaction to be rejected by the nodes and tell the sender again to make a transaction.

I have checked the parents of these transactions which all of them are confirmed so CPFP is not a bad option and economical considering the alternative which is acceleration.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Received a payment with low fees, stuck already for 3,5 days now on: April 11, 2024, 05:01:49 PM
The fee used is too low acording to the current mempool status. The transaction could say longer up to 14 days before nodes drop them or it could be purged if the fee increases further.

Since you are using Electrum you could do CPFP for faster confirmation.

Well yes but I did not send this payment to myself. It came from an external party and I have no control over their actions.
Can I still do something then to speed it up?

And what does "nodes drop them" mean? Does this mean it gets returned to sender?

CPFP (Child Pays for Parent) is done from the receiving end and in Electrum you can see an option to do that by right clicking on that TX from the history tab.

It will be slightly more expensive than RBF but if that transaction you are receiving has unconfirmed parents too than I won't recommend doing CPFP either.

But the later is using the service for bypassing their restriction which will end up in a ban along with their funds so we should use it for the right reasons not to violate the terms.

I'm just curious, if this will happen and the funds will be frozen. What will be the action of the casino, will they keep the funds and consider it as other income, or they will remit it to the proper agency which is under a certain government?

Some casinos I know when they found a user violating the TOS like cheating in a way of stealing or getting money from the casino, they could freeze the money and take it back since it was won by cheating, but by using a VPN to bypass restriction, does it still fall on the same category?

I guess so but it varies cases by case, if it just from bypassing the restriction then casino has every right to deny the withdrawals and terminate that account. The later part they could keep it if it doesn't involve in any tainted activities.

Both are completely pointless though in my opinion since gamblers can't really stay anonymous in most crypto gambling sites these days thanks to KYC at any point of time basically.

The reason for using VPN even after completing KYC to the casino is to protect their internet and financial activities from the middle party especially from ISP to certain level so it's okay to use with dedicated address for not revealing their actual location.
159  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: April 11, 2024, 01:38:00 PM

I think we all know the problem of VPNs, this is something that is often discussed on gambling boards apart from gambling addiction, I think many casino sites have different views on users who use VPNs, so far I have often tried sites that have slightly stricter rules and it's true when I using a free VPN, my account was asked to complete KYC, whereas on other sites I was never asked to complete KYC, I think there are actually two reasons for using this VPN, namely people want to use it because of privacy or because they can't access the site because it is blocked by the internet provider in his place.

Major difference in both these kinds of people, former one wo wants to keep his privacy can use VPN as long as it's allowed by the casinos after they got verified for their withdrawals.

But the later is using the service for bypassing their restriction which will end up in a ban along with their funds so we should use it for the right reasons not to violate the terms.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is This How I Lost All Of My Money From Atomic Wallet? on: April 10, 2024, 06:40:45 PM
I'm just confused as to why Atomic Wallet had me insert my 12-word phrase into the links they provided.
Atomic Wallet claims it was a safe and secure procedure.

Once the ATOMs were unbounded and I was done staking, I only needed a wallet address to transfer the funds.

When I asked Atomic Wallet this, they wrote back,
"In the case of Cosmostation, this wallet is safe, as well as the import procedure provided by Grace. Decentralized wallets play an intermediary role between you and the blockchain. With your backup seed on hand, you'll be able to access your account via any app of your liking that supports the assets you're holding."

The wallet importing procedure is an integral part of every wallet. You do not actually transfer anything, but rather you access the same wallet through different wallet interfaces by giving the interface your seed phrase. Every wallet address has a different seed phrase with which you can access the funds of said wallet. I see nothing wrong with what the Atomic support told you. So the problem is most likely either that you have a malware, you told someone your seed phrase or you got phished.

Either way, somebody found out your 12-word phrase, it seems.

Can you give us the original wallet address and the wallet address that your funds went to?

But why go through that procedure (where I insert my 12-word phrase in the links) when it's not necessary., I don't understand this.

You are right; someone got my 12-word phrase.
I wondered if it was because I inserted my 12-word phrase into the links that Atomic Wallet sent me.
I did go to this site:
https://decentralized-base-protocol.vercel.app.
Although I didn't insert anything, it could have infected my PC?

I have a picture of the funds being transferred from Cosmo wallet to another wallet.
https://postimg.cc/5616Lb2v

Is there anything I can do to track that wallet address?
A crypto recovery service?

You need to understand what is recovery seeds to get why you need to enter those phrases to access your wallet.

I never used Atomic wallet so I am not sure that you recieved the link from their official support team or an impersonator.

You can track the funds cause it's available in public but you can't recover anything at all.
