201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 14, 2024, 10:33:17 AM
There is no fixed criteria for me to stop betting, I may stop when I win and I will stop when I lose as well and I stop when I feel I made enough bets so it's not actually possible to draw a line for everyone when they have different reasons for gambling.

I want to say when they must stop is, when they are on a losing streak so they can save what's left that's lot better compared to chasing the loss and making more loss then eventually the balance will become zero.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake on a potential(obvious) loosing team just for love? on: March 13, 2024, 07:38:00 PM
While in a football view centre last night, some of the football fans were arguing with the opposite football fans strongly defending their teams.

There one of the team guy said... Yes we loosed the match but that does not mean I will deny my team for that because the nature of football is that you would win somedays and you looses somedays too.
So he say... I love my team to the core that I will always stand by them and even if it is obvious that they were going to loose a match, I will still bet in support that they would win the match.

Question: Can you have so much love for your team to behave like this guy that even when you know your love fans team would loose a match, would you still further stake on the match against your team?
Remember that we are catching funs here and whoever chasing after profits is at its own will.

Being fanatic or even hard-core fan of respective team doesn't mean you can bet on them even when it's obvious that the team is going to lose, I don't get any financial benefit from a team I love and I choose to watch them because they feel connected in someway to be because they might be playing for my nation and reasons like that.

Stop confusing yourself with you love towards the sport and being a successful sport bettor, if you want to make money then you should bet against the team you love if you find reasons that they are going to win despite its against your favourite team.
203  Economy / Gambling / Re: Need help. I GOT PHISHED FOR 9K ON STAKE.COM on: March 13, 2024, 05:38:43 PM
.

I fully told you it was my fault at the end but this matter would have never happened if the data didn’t get leaked and for the hackers to have a lead to go and try to phish. But you need to understand this email was identical to every email I normally get from stake for the monthly bonus and it took me like a minute to realize but by that time they have already tipped the other stake account and gambled it 😅

So yes I’m admitting to me being a dumbass but at the same time this would not happen if stakes security wasn’t shit

How do you know that your data was leaked from Stake? What if it just a random Phishing link sent to thousands of emails and hope some of them are users of Stake?

It is not necessary that someone from stake has to be on the side who phished you, it just need a registration on stake to find out how their official email looks like so the one who sent you can replicate the same just copy , paste and I am defending why you are accusing the stake here when they are not involved in any way.
204  Economy / Gambling / Re: Need help. I GOT PHISHED FOR 9K ON STAKE.COM on: March 13, 2024, 10:52:55 AM
You gave away your stake account access to someone who you assumed that it's someone from Stake asking for account credentials and they emptied your account now you want to take action against stake for all these? Such BS...

You made all the mistakes here and even if someone from the actual Website contacts and ask for details you should not provide at all. You lost your money to someone so blaming the casino isn't gonna change anything.
205  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What needs to be improved or added to your preferred BTC Wallet? on: March 13, 2024, 09:30:41 AM
Electrum android has limited features compared to the desktop versions, if we assume the Electrum android as hot wallet and meant to be used on a day-to-day basis then it should have more flexibility, the only two important things that miss out for now is to set the fees manually, like we can't enter our own desired fee rate on electrum android while its possible in desktop version.

Another thing is that still it doesn't have coin control feature to individually select UTXOs for our transactions.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Do bitcoin accelerators really work ? on: March 11, 2024, 06:12:54 AM
offer 100 free spots

Just for the record
Quote
By the order of submission, ViaBTC supports 20 FREE acceleration chances per hour.

AFAIK,they reduced the free spots from 100 to 20 on or before Jan 7 this year and now we need to login to viabtc account even to use the free acceleration and I assume these changes were made to stop the bots abusing the accelerator and also one account can only submit up to 1 free TX for certain time range which is not mentioned anywhere but also has been in effect already.

To @OP Viabtc is the only free TX accelerator remaining and it works fine which I tried couple of times even in the past week but the only downside is you need to be on time if you want to submit in the allocated 20 slots.
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person view on: March 10, 2024, 06:42:49 PM
Women have always been a part of gambling, especially in casinos, even in the good old days women used to play slots, dice, and many more games in Vegas and now everything has become online its hard to know whether the user is male or female and its not necessary too because it doesn't play any role in the game like actual sports where they are separated from men's games for fair results due to the biological nature of physique difference.
208  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - recover wallet on: March 10, 2024, 06:04:55 PM
Hi guys I have an old mnemonic phrase (2016) of an old version Electrum. How I can recover my wallet? Thanks
Mnemonic phrase is not but the recovery seeds of HD wallet, since you mentioned it's electrum all you need to do is just download the electrum wallet from https://electrum.org/ and choose ' I already have seed' while creating the wallet.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Google Authenticator needed for Electrum BTC wallet - App stopped working on: March 10, 2024, 04:06:06 AM
In any case, if you have not touched your wallet for 7 years, it will not sync If your electrum version is older than V3.0.5, you will need to update the wallet.

Keep your old phone working without touching it, download the wallet to a new phone, verify the signature, and since the Google Authenticator setup was at the software level (meaning your wallet is not Electrum 2fa with TrustedCoin (2-of-3 multi-sig)), then you can easliy recovering your wallet via the seed.

In new wallet click on Create / Restore a wallet, give it a name, enter your seed and will store your funds.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown.
So it looks like I need the enter the seed no matter what, right? That sucks!
Is there really no way I can update the Google Authenticator app, then install the latest version of Electrum, place my wallet.dat file on my computer, and then use the Google Authenticator 2FA token to send the money?

Also, just to be 100% sure (sorry if it's a stupid question), but when you say download the wallet to a new phone, this can also be done on a laptop right?
I can install Electrum to my computer, verify the signature, and then restore the wallet via seed there.

You just import the wallet on a new device and you already have the seeds will give you complete access to your wallet and the information in the new device as well, so once you done that then update whatever you want and restore the wallet on updated device and continue using 2FA or just opt for better password combination.

Placing the wallet.dat file of Electrum on other device will only work if it's not password protected wallet.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 09:44:38 PM
Self examining is not really possible in my opinion because we always try to make the desired outcome as we wished to be so if there is any program that examines our addictive quality then it's good or else just keep remembering ourselves about the responsible gambling and what can be the outcome of you derail from the track and you can keep yourself updated with real life experiences to give yourself a warning why you shouldn't do that.
Don't give yourself much pressure, rather beckon on aiding more sources of streaming profits from the system.Experience will take us far in the system, we can never regret our actions when we have already planned ahead of time and having key moments to entrapped the system to our own favour. We all have problems to deal with this season and there's absolutely no better way than enhancing the system with appropriate technique. Gambling is not for weak, keep emphasizing on this statement because there's a whole to achieve in the system.

Gambling is for everyone but it's not for making profits or achieving any kind of status, it is there to kill your time just like every entertainment field. And what is planning and how it really works in gambling?

We can have no expectations while gambling to avoid breakdown when we lose but this is about the addiction which is associated with most of the things in the world even food can be addictive so it all lies in our self discipline and how we maintain our promise of being responsible.

212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My tx is stuck on mempool for a week on: March 09, 2024, 03:39:46 PM
I use a dapp that control the btc wallet, so all txs were handle by that dapp. It has been 2 weeks til now and btc has not come back to wallet yet. I guess my best bet is wait few more days for tx being discarded by mempool.

There is no such thing called dapp in Bitcoin wallet, you must be using a centralised wallet or some kind of extension as wallet.

Check the wallet provider is letting you access the private keys or seed phrases, if yes then you can import the keys or seeds into electrum to create your replacement transaction.
213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the point of registering on a CEX if you don't trade? on: March 09, 2024, 09:03:45 AM

Yes it's very much necessary in fact it's Kyc requirements maybe more advanced than that of trading. Few people are aware of decentralise p2p while others still used it  since they already have done Kyc on the exchanges long before knowing about DEX p2p  and they're familiar with it.

The reason why people trade on Binance p2p instead of BISQ varies, for example in my case I knew bisq is completely decentralized but there is not enough volume on decentralized p2p whereas in Binance p2p or paxful the trading volume is quite high and I can even go as much as any amount I want but that's not possible in decentralized p2p.

Another reason why I avoid dex p2p is that the chances of receiving funds from a hacked bank account are quite high which leads to the termination of your bank account in the future.

In my opinion, it is always good for people to trust the TOS more than what the support guy says, if the TOS says that the person must provide true information, if the TOS says that the person should not use a VPN to hide the person's location , so that person should not use a VPN, even if some support guy says they can use it, even if a forum representative says they can use a VPN, while the TOS is prohibiting it, so the person should rely more on what is written in the TOS. because the day the casino blocks the person's account because they were using VPN, the casino will use the TOS as the reason they blocked the person's account and will say that the person agreed to those terms of service

and if the person says that they asked the casino support guy if they could use the vpn and the casino support guy said he could and there were no problems, the casino can argue that the support guy made a mistake and that the TOS and what is it worth? and the casino will be right, the TOS is what it really counts. That's why it's very important that people don't let themselves be fooled by what the casino representative is saying, they should just believe the things that are written in the casino's tome.

As far as I know what is mentioned in their TOS is

Quote
All Duelbits promotions are limited to one entry per customer. We only permit one customer to participate from each household address. IP address, e-mail address, same payment account or shared computer(e.g. public library or workplace).

And I asked about the usage of VPN which is allowed as long as we are not violating that by creating multiple accounts to abuse the promotions and offers provided by the casino side.

You should not fake your KYC details, it is mandatory to give valid details if your intention is to continue using their service but the VPN is to prevent the intermediaries from knowing where you are spending your money not to evade anything suspicious but for your own privacy sake.
215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Scams in Each Market Condition? on: March 08, 2024, 01:31:17 PM
The scammers are constantly evolving, if you see some kind of scam today then probably they will come with more convincing kind of scam tomorrow that is why it's important to stick with the basics and don't let the greed to blind the common sense. In bull season the most common kind of scam is fake project pretending to be a project that is trending also have everything resembles in one way or another and hoping that people will make the wrong move when they are in hurry.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Simple mistake that makes you lose everything on: March 08, 2024, 10:08:01 AM
All I can say is one mistake but that's literally what you are asking.

Click the max near bet tab is one of the common mistake done by online casino players especially in dice games and they even started accusing casino for their own mistake which busted their entire balance in one bet and asked for refunds.

I don't really considering missing a bet as a lose because we are assuming something that happened after what we choose to do.
217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do the needful this period and save yourself stress and heartbreak on: March 08, 2024, 05:05:05 AM
Scams exist in the crypto market irrespective of bull or bear market but most of the newbies enter the market in the bull season which could be the reason why the number of scams is high during the bull run. The friendly remainder is going to be effective, I don't think so because the people who really do their research before risking their money will be cautious and one who just blindly jumps in will learn the lesson in hard ways.
Most of the people who invest in this bull market have limited knowledge of how the crypto space works. They were just attracted by the increase in the price of most cryptocurrencies. I was in a betting shop and two friends were discussing the bull run and how they bought some altcoins which turned out to be a scam. A careful examination of their discussion points to the fact that they don't know anything about the market. Maybe they saw an advert that promises a mouthwatering profit and they wanted to get rich quickly.

Before investing in any coin there is a great need to invest in learning to avoid being a victim of scams. Investors shouldn't be too lazy to put in a few hours of research to ascertain the genuineness of a project. There is also a need to learn how to keep wallets safe to avoid phasing and hacks. The beauty of the crypto industry is that everything you need to learn can be accessed by just a quick search on the internet.

Not everything when we search on internet is legitimate information, for example if we type best wallet then it will give lot of articles that filled with craps and it may show bitcointalk results too but not always on the top of results so whoever search something on internet may get mislead too.

As you said, it's the investors priority to find the good projects and in my opinion every newbie should start with Bitcoin and hang around a bit to understand how market works before taking risks with shitcoins.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 08, 2024, 02:31:48 AM
We can't control the emotions by reading and article how to do it, it just has to happen naturally to us and most of the realise it from their own mistakes and smart people realise from others mistakes but the thing is same, we need to stay under our limits and can't force the emotions to influence your decision making ability.

In casinos where we physically appear may have extra pressure to bet more while we are losing and the reason is obvious because we don't want to project ourselves as a loser but in online casino there is no such pressure we are having full freedom to quit anytime we want.
I think you meant to say that we can't control to not have emotions. Human have emotions naturally. The point here is that we need to not have emotions out of control which can affect our mind to have a right decision-making. We can learn strategies and techniques to manage emotions, but true emotional control often comes from within and is honed through real-life experiences. Many people learn from their own mistakes, recognizing the consequences of impulsive or emotionally-driven decisions.

Maintaining emotional control is essential in decision-making, especially in high-pressure situations like gambling. The allure of potential winnings or the fear of loss can trigger intense emotions that cloud judgment and lead to irrational choices. Being aware of these emotional triggers and understanding how they influence behavior is crucial in avoiding impulsive decisions that may have negative consequences. When gamblers play in casinos, there can be external pressures, such as social expectations or the desire to save face, which may influence behavior, particularly during losing streaks. Online gambling makes people have more autonomy and flexibility to control their environment that allow for greater self-regulation and the ability to quit without external pressure.

Gambling is supposed to be fun not a stressful event so when you feel like that it overpowers at any point then just take a break from what's bothering it applies to betting on sports as well. We may lose and win that's the part of gambling and we need to accept the fact if we really want gambling to be fun and entertaining or else it's gonna be stressful and make it hard on you which is totally unnecessary in my opinion.

There's no point using VPN for privacy matters while they handed out their KYC to a platform and since they know that using VPN is been discourage to use if this is really the case happening to him then much better if they avoid using any tool that can change their IP since its expected that this will trigger this verification process since they will verify if the account still intact with the real user.

And since they are using a legit platform then I guess the only thing to do is to comply to what been asked since once everything will be cleared out for sure they can use their account the same as what they do to do it earlier.

Still it can help you to maintain your privacy and it's not to hide from the platform you are accessing but from the middle man which is your ISP may track these data and you don't want them to know which casino that you are accessing on regular basis but it's kind of tricky when it comes to accessing the casino that is why it is important to ask the support usage of VPN is allowed if someone wants to have the privacy I am talking and then buy dedicated IP which comes at premium cost.
