141  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: August 26, 2015, 10:18:47 PM
With the expectation of global crysis, I dont think 2016 will be year of BTC.

After 2013 peak, the main stream adoption didnt still happened. And, it doesnt seem occur sooner. Also, btc has some technical limitations like block size , blockchain size which will have become more serious problem when # of txs/block keeps the increasing. Before coming year of bitcoin, it should be evolved to be used as a -real- global payment vehicle.

I agree on you about that the main stream adoption still did not happen. However, I'm sure more people know about Bitcoin these days. Especially in comparison with 1 or 2 years ago. However, I think we're still in a very early stage of the life of Bitcoin. That makes 2016 also an important year which could 'make or break' Bitcoin. Looking at the downwards trend of the value of Bitcoin lately, I think something should change to make Bitcoin successfull soon. Otherwise, I guess we just have to wait and see what the future is going to bring us.
142  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: August 26, 2015, 10:15:57 PM
The safest thing to invest your money is the real estate. Buy an apartment or a house and rent it, that would make a larger profit for you, larger than any bank commission. I always invest my earned money this way, the safest and the most profitable way out there.

it depends on where you buy/invest in real estate. here everything is way overpriced thus not worth looking at as far as investing in real estate goes. where do you live if i may ask?

I think it's hard to predict in which kind of stage we're currently living with regard to the house markets here in The Netherlands. The last years, houses prices have decreased a lot (which makes it nowadays a good time to buy). However, especially in popular cities such as Amsterdam, a kind of bubble is currently taking place: houses are sold for MORE than the asking prices.

I'm looking to buy some real estate (such as an apartment) myself nowadays. However, it is hard to get a mortgage these days.

- -

Overall, I think it's a good idea to invest in real estate (especially in popular cities). In fact, I know someone who buys houses and changes them to multiple student rooms (which he then rents out). That works great.

However, if you do not have that amount of money to spend, it is probably more wise to save money - save money to be able to cover unexpected costs (otherwise you'll have to loan money for that, and loaning is a really waste of money!).
143  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: August 26, 2015, 10:07:54 PM
You can begin from nothing.

I trying to achieve my first 1BTC with no investment. Smiley

How?
That probably relates to earning money such as dollars or euro's, doesn't it? I guess you have to spend some time and efforts trying to earn 1 BTC - about $225, which is the same as you would trying to earn $225.

As I bought a desktop because I needed one (for my study, work and spare time) I guess I could also mention that I achieved to earn my first 1 BTC without investment (by GPU-mining the right altcoins at that time) - but I guess that doesn't apply as my desktop costed money and so did the electricy.

I already offered a vouch copy, did't I?

@monbux:
You seem to be the most trusted member in this thread so I would like to sent you the vouch copy if you agree. I dropped you a PM.

@all others:
Your speculations are quite amusing, yet not very fair...
Please, be patient till monbux makes a review!

Thanks

Alright. I'm interested in what Monbux is going to experience and mention about this. Keep us updated Monbux!

I would like to vouch you if it works! Pm me pls Smiley

I don't think anyone will think a review of you is legit and therefore I don't think Sathyr will ask you to. Vouching does work when trusted members do it though.
145  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Earn 1000€ and more... on: August 26, 2015, 06:34:41 PM
This seems more like a funny idea because it sounds too good to be true.
Any vouch copy?

Right, at last the only one making profit from this, will be the guy selling the method, rofl.

There is not way to get easy clean money.

That is the basis of a pyramid scheme. The ones who starts it, is likely to earn much. I guess the same applies here: If you pay the TS, you are "allowed" to sell the very same product: just air, in which you "allow" buyers to sell the same product..
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: $300 in the end of August on: August 26, 2015, 06:22:07 PM
Im rallyholic, if we see 300$ the rally will start
We have already start you will see end of this month price will reach to $300. Bitcoin always get big issue but still can survive

well, it can already start with getting the 20% it lost in the last month, but go to 300$ in less of a week sounds a challenge.

That will be a huge challenge indeed. And, to my knowledge, nothing really indicates that we are going to reach such levels within a week.

Looking at the graphs with regard to the last two years, a clear downwards trend is reconized.. Something should change. Although I do not loose my hope too Wink.
147  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Earn 1000€ and more... on: August 26, 2015, 06:18:57 PM
To me this sounds like a piramid-scheme or something like that.. Pay me €xx in order to be able to earn €xxxx by yourself..

I guess the only way you can actually sell your "way" is by providing vouch copies to trustfull people.
148  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: August 26, 2015, 05:22:00 PM
Decentralization, low fees and really fast transactions. I think it's great more for online purchases where you can't use cash and there is high credit fraud.

I like the things you mention about Bitcoin too, however, I don't think we should expect that all Bitcoin transactions / deals will be safe. For example, owners of webshops that accept Bitcoin, might find an easy way to just not delivering their products. As soon as your Bitcoins are transferred to their wallets, this does not always have to mean that you also receive the product. In that situation, it is also hard to find out who the actual owner of the website / webshop is: you can't simply track the bank account (as you would nowadays).
149  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: August 26, 2015, 05:19:23 PM
I would sell all my Bitcoins if..the world war will begin Smiley))

Wait, wouldn't that actually increase the value of bitcoin, as it is intenational currency, and not linked directly to any country ?!
In an event like that , i would rather buy bitcoin and gold, than to sell them.

I think such cases will - indeed - increase the value of Bitcoin (together with the value of gold and silver). As soon as a kind of crisis arises, for example when our money is not worth much anymore, such assets (Bitcoin, gold etc) will gain value a lot.

It would be great for the Bitcoin if we are going to experience such crisis, although I don't think I want to experience that. When our money becomes worthless, people will do EVERYTHING in order to survive. Murders will take place for a single bread I guess..
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people still play dice? on: August 26, 2015, 05:16:35 PM
Well by "stop", I mean stop betting forever. And exactly as you said, if you come back to make the bet again and again, you will lose it sooner or later. A very good example would be the person losing 7k bitcoin on JD.

I only found out about that huge loss lately. Unbelieveble.. And somehow he/she seemed to accept it. There is no way I would gamble with such amounts of money.. In order to gamble with such amounts of money, I think you need to already have lots and lots of money (or be a millionair).
151  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Dutyfree.io - Buy cheap cigarettes with Bitcoin on: August 26, 2015, 05:14:26 PM
Why is my account gone...? And why is my order (#57796) not being confirmed? The payment already has 12 confirmations.

We've switched servers two weeks ago and had to dump the old user database - sorry about this!

As for your order, we'll process it right away - apologies for the delay.
Oh, I see. I must have missed an email or post in this thread about that. No problem. I've put two orders in, but I'm sure you already seen that. Tongue
Any reason for the delay?

I think you missed the email indeed. I've received two emails, both on the fifth of August. Containing the following message:

Quote
Hello,

We've moved onto a new server and patched up some security holes with the downside of having to dump the old user database.

Having said that, please feel free to register a new account and update your shipping address.

To make up for the inconvenience, we've more than halved the Registered Airmail shipping option price to just $3.99 per carton.

Additionally, feel free to use coupon *snip* for 15% off your order (no matter how big or small). Coupon expires at GMT+0 midnight on Friday, 7th of August.

 Enjoy! Smiley

 Cheers,

the number of people knowing about bitcoin here is so low that I cant even talk about bitcoin with anybody. and they don't want to listen either!

Then go ahead and change this! In my group of friends, everybody knows about Bitcoin Wink. Some of them are now also very interested in Bitcoin since I told them about it. In fact, some of them own more Bitcoins than I do.

Needed to make updates to the OP, and will need to do so in the future. I still watch the other ANN threads also.

Ah yeah, I did not think about that. Then you guys got a valid reason for keeping this topic as the leading one Wink.

I would love to participate more in the DGC forums, but I still do not have the time for that. The same applies for the chat-channel.
155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BEWARE AMAZON using Gift Cards on: August 25, 2015, 02:27:58 PM
We have resolved this matter, and you should now be able to access your account without incident.

So Amazon fixed the issue - as we already expected?

That's great! A good reminder for everyone though: be sure that you keep the receipts if you buy these giftcards (by paying cash) or ask the seller (who tells you that he or she bought these cards with cash) to provide the receipts. Smiley
156  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: August 25, 2015, 02:25:41 PM
I would sell my Bitcoin if the price drops under the $100 barrier.

I seriously hope this doesn't happen, because if it does... the panic sell will kill Bitcoin and it will be the end...

Will you? I'm not going to sell anything, especially not at this value.. I will rather keep them 'untill the end' if that is the way we are going (downwards).

I still have hope and faith in Bitcoin. We all should remember that the coin and its technology is really new and we have a long way ahead of us. Maybe the ATH was not the right value for this coin (but just a hype at that moment). In a few years / multiple years, we'll see what the coin is really worth. And, at that moment, I want to be proud that I've kept all my Bitcoins Wink.
157  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: August 25, 2015, 02:23:37 PM
Nice advice. I am also looking for a way to save money. I don't know why it is so easy to spend money for buying things that is not so necessary. While the things we need the most and needed big amount of money we feel so hard to do savings and the worst is in the end we take loans on banks. Need to change before it becomes a habit  Cheesy

I think it is a good start for all of us if we do not take any loans on the bank (except a possible mortgage) or use a credit card. This is actually the worst way to spend money because of the interest you have to pay.  And even with regard to mortgages, please spend a lot of time looking for which kind of mortage is the best for YOU! Remember, what mortgage is the best for you according to the bank, often is not the best for you but the best one for the bank..

Nowadays also crowd-funding websites arise for providing people loans. Maybe we all should look more into those websites and leave banks as they are.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people still play dice? on: August 24, 2015, 10:26:54 PM
Most of the people thinks they want to recover their money from where they lost. This is very foolishness but we need to accept this is the fact. However by end of the day they will loose even more.

That is - indeed - the kind of habit I tried to explain earlier. First, they start thinking they can make some money. As soon as they start loosing money, they will gamble 'a few more times' in order to recover the costs. However, then this process starts over and over again: trying to cover costs will often lead to more costs (as, if they can recover the costs, they still want to make some money).. It's addictive.

Its true and its pretty much exactly what happened today in the stock market. Many were betting big on the US econony and the DOW jones dropped 1000 points almost instantly. Reason this happened was because of fear. The market never advances this much ever but in falling markets it can. And its the same with dice and gambling, there will be a huge losing streak and will empty out your accounts.

Let's hope that is not the current situation of Bitcoin. Looking at the current value, I become a bit sad (especially if you look at two-years graphs). Let's hope this is not the huge losing streak you are reffering to, which is going to empty our accounts.

Honestly now I do see some similarities in this process about gambling (and dice) and buying Bitcoin, although buying Bitcoin is not like gambling. I still think there can be a great bright future for Bitcoin - but that future seems not to be very soon.
159  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine... Revolution. on: August 24, 2015, 10:23:52 PM
These stupid conflicts severely damaged the sovereignty of the people....We learn nothing, we like 500 years ago but with smartphones to record the genocide.

This, but unfortunately, this seems to be part of human nature, since it seems humanity is unable to learn its lesson.

I'm wondering why this keeps happening indeed. I don't think it is really about being unable to learn. I guess it's more about unwilling to learn.. Unfortunately.

All these wars in the world does not make the world a better place. And honestly, I don't think we've seen the worst yet..

I guess it was just a matter of time for them to delete their forum.
