Is that not a problem?  According to an earlier post (no pun intended!) the purple paint must be “placed so that the bottom of the mark is not less than 3 feet from the ground or more than 5 feet from the ground.“ so if it goes right down to the ground it's not compliant.
Probably not serious, but you wouldn't want an issue on a technicality.

tl;dr: Posts painted entirely purple are more than is required.

Texas Penal Code § 30.05. Criminal Trespass

Sec 2 (D) the placement of identifying purple paint marks on trees or posts on the property, provided that the marks are:

(ii) placed so that the bottom of the mark is not less than three feet from the ground or more than five feet from the ground;  and

.... this seems quite clear that the mark needs to end 3 to 5 feet above the ground

.... a post painted all the way to the ground is just a purple post, not a purple-marked post

... at least it's an upgrade on a rusty old pipe

OT:

Die in peace just got real.

Switzerland has just legalized a new way to die by assisted suicide. The country’s medical review board has just given authorization for use of the Sarco Suicide Pod, which is a 3-D-printed portable coffin-like capsule with windows that can be transported to a tranquil place for a person’s final moments of life.

Once inside, the person intending to end their life will have to answer pre-recorded questions and press a button that will start the process of flooding the interior with nitrogen, which will quickly reduce the oxygen level inside from 21 percent to 1 percent. “The person will get into the capsule and lie down,” he said, adding, “It’s very comfortable.”

... not as efficient as a CoVID ventilator ward denying therapeutic treatments though

I am reading attestations of losing 60 lb and keeping it off with a bit of bemusement.
Maybe, when you are 30 (or earlier than 40).

At a certain age (35-40, typically), body weight is stabilized and it is VERY difficult to permanently lose weight.
In fact, any loss of 5-10% of the weight is considered by the body that you are 'starving' or 'dying', so it is throwing the "book" at you by adjusting hormonal systems in a way that keeping the lost weight becomes more and more difficult.

Of course, if someone starts eating pasta twice a day every day, they would gain a lot of weight in a short duration and then simply reversing that should be possible.

Btw, humans and other animals DO lose about 10% of the weight before death (for humans, in the last year or two).

google ketogenic diet and lose weight at any age.
fuck carbs, you can live off fat and proteins, with little natural carbs (vegetables and rarely fruit).
Fat doesn't even stress the liver, opposed to cheap carbs (flour, sugars) which do not only feed bad gut bacteria as well as mess up your insulin level (pancreas).

And cold water plunges, of course. They break up and burn reserves, no need to strain your joints by running miles within a certain heart rate range.

... cold water plunges seem interesting but just seems too uncomfortable to get to the other side, maybe when I achieve life hacker guru status I can get there

... all these discussions on diet and weigbt are largely correct, highly refined carbs, sugars and seed oils can fuck your body up when consumed in consistently large quantities as a base for the diet but are not poisonous in minute amounts

... but it comes down to the holy trinity when engaged in discussions of health and it needs to be approached holistically, Diet, Exercise, Sleep are all the essential components

.... yes gut bacteria are important and getting them in balance is difficult in the modern world, fresh foods are the best, fruit veges nuts roots shoots and shrooms, in moderation natural carbs from veges are ok, whole grains, potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, corn on the cob

... exercising .... try the 4 S formula, each day work on only one Strength Stretch Stamina Sustenance, repeat in rotation, maybe skip one to get 2 rotations in a week, e.g. end with Sustenance Sundays to fit western norms
Eg. Strength - lift heavy stuff, weights, push-ups, stack wood, hard enough to be grunting and enough to sweat
Stretch - yoga, tai chi, roll around naked in the sun and stretch, hang from tree branches
Stamina - walk a good distance until you sweat and get breathless, jog interspersed with wind sprints, rowing, swimming, i.e. cardio
Sustenance - rest and be mindful of a good nutritious replenishment in the cycle, take care of your appearance, feel sexy, meditate pray, soak in all the goodness the universe has to offer, reconnect with universal collective consciousness after focussing on yourself ....

.... losing weight will come naturally if that's what your body needs, maybe you'll gain muscle mass instead, body fat can be shed permanently and safely "safe and effective" at rates of about 1% per month

Jack is not censoring as much as Facebook and Google. That and because he is supporting Bitcoin are the reasons he had to go. No, he did not quit himself. He had to go because he is not playing along with the agenda in power. Just as they got rid of so many presidents in Afrika and as they got rid of Austrias president 2 months ago, just in time for Austrian insanity. I am sure the ex president was against lockdowns and vaxx mandates. So they published some dirt about him and he had to step back. They made Japans president who was against lockdowns in the beginning of the plandemic step down as well. They control everything. And Ghislaine Maxwells trial will lead to nothing. All the pedophile politicians, Sports, Music and Hollywood stars are safe and protected by the agenda. Maybe they throw some unimportant ones in the fire to make the masses think there is democracy.

Then why is Sweden still "allowed" to not have any lock downs, forced vaccinations, severe restrictions, and not using face masks etc? Are we the control group in a large scale experiment?
Anyho, the head of the Swedish CDC said that the new variant will not make any difference in Swedish restrictions because we still know to little about it and what little we know doesn't seem to point to it being particularly bad, just possibly a little more contagious. His words, not mine.

... Sweden is 'allowed' to have a sensible health policy because they are already a cashless society

... bringing Sweden into the one world digital currency surveillance grid will be easy

... it goes like this ... pandemic --> fear porn ---> vaccine --> vaccine passes ID system linked to UN (note they are stored in digital wallet) ---> crash financial markets ---> freeze all bank deposits ---> default all Sovereign Debt ---> roll out NWO digital global currency based on Global Digital ID (introduced as 'vaccine pass') digital wallets (or Global Digital ID enabled bank accounts)

I’m delighted to report that my furnace was fixed yesterday - not by me, but after taking advice from several good fellows here, I decided it was a job for an electrician (there’s no point being a btc hodler if you’re going to fry yourself into an early grave and never reap the rewards, I thought).

It seems that all three relays had blown. In fact, it may have been functioning with just one working relay, meaning that it may have only been working at one-third of its potential power for some time, unknown to me.

I quizzed the electrician about why this might have happened - he thought it was likely to be because of the age of the system, the wires becoming more and more brittle over time, especially considering that they’re taking a large load and are frequently turned on/off by a thermostat.

I also wondered why there had been no blown fuse. There is no fuse at all in this system - the electrician said that  he wouldn’t expect there to be and that if there is an overload or short, then the relays would simply fail (I may not be explaining this bit properly). I thought this was a little strange but another acquaintance (a distant, retired relative) agreed with this. I’m still not totally convinced, but what do I know….

Since having the furnace repaired, I am thoroughly enjoying being warm again. However, in the last 24 hours:

(tl;dr My furnace is fixed and now loads of other things have broken. Much love to the WO).

... weird but stories like these give me the warm fuzzies Smiley

... for purely academic interest did the electrician replace any wiring or just the relays?

... and if he replaced wiring did he put in bigger gauge?, i.e. thicker wires?

... strange that there's no separate fuses for the heating system but it is true that for big loads sometimes they just rely on the mains fuses or pole fuses further back upstream I guess.

Several (non headline) articles I've read suggest that this Omicron carry on most likely has less severe symptoms.

Perhaps when the panic of politicians and hyper propaganda media dies off and some sense of using a few brain cells re-appears in the next few days markets including BTC will recover heavily.

... it's even better than that, the hospitalisation rates (none so far with >4000 cases) and symptoms (side effects) sound safer than getting the jab

Beause we have a separate thread for coughvid, i'll limit this to one line:
High virus replication levels in the upper respiratory tract mucous membranes actually link to high spreading rate but less danger for the host organism, so a new variant of this likes is actually good news.

... boom, ^^^ this guy gets it

... at some point a variant will come along that is more infectious and safer to catch than taking the death jab

... it spreads faster than previous strains and causes less symptoms than a vaccine, therefore giving people natural immunity faster and more efficiently than any previous method (natural infection or artificial)

... this is how all pandemics end .... unless they lock everybody down and don't let nature's solution to propagate, therefore prolonging the suffering, authoritarian "public health security" power-trip and the vaccine profits

Everything "non essential" forced to close at 5pm daily in The Netherlands from Sunday because of the extremely dangerous deadly mutating Coronavirus.

Interesting comment I just read:

"Then we will just reverse everything. Go to the pub from 12pm-5pm and THEN go to work."

 Grin

Stop lying and overexaggerate the situation. B.1.1.529 is not even active here, only 1 case in Belgium so far.

Hospitals are struggeling again with Delta patiens, doctors asked the goverment to take extra steps for some relief.

Did you ever seen a really sick Covid patient in the hospital? Shall i pick you up and drive to one of those hospitals to see it yourself?

Most of you anti-vaxxers clearly have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, living in their own conspiracy theory bubble.

Go help yourself find a doctor, go on vacation, do some sports, read books. Clear your mind with that bullshit otherwise you always stay in that conspiracy bubble.

... I know you are a clear and independent thinker because I've followed some of what you post, consider for a moment that you, and the whole population, are being subject to a prolonged and well-coordinated fear campaign, that comes in waves of fearstorms, the lulls are important for maximum impact and ratcheting-up effect of confusion and gas-lighting 'new normals' into place so people forget what life was like before the most recent fear-wave trauma

https://rumble.com/vo0dwu-mass-psychosis-how-an-entire-population-becomes-mentally-ill.html

... the Western world is undergoing the process of "mass formation" that is a clear signal that they are falling into a "totalitarian cascade" where people's personal-life anxiety is fixating on the over-blown fears of a virus and then solidarity in a group solution (vaccines) has become a moral crusade that gives a lot of lonely and anxious people a feeling of well-being and connectedness, almost like euphoric togetherness, fighting the evil, tricky virus, "all in this together"

... no rational arguments from dissonant voices are allowed, or even entertained because it will burst their groupthink bubble that is now their "new normal" and they love so much more than the anxious, lonely, disconnected past ... essentially they have been hypnotised, every level of society, politicians, leaders, scientists, doctors are operating as if they are average level IQ when it comes to rational thinking about the "virus" .... very, very dangerous times but not from a virus but the psychological reaction, this is what happened in communist russia and nazi germany and elsewhere ... we just haven't reached the atrocities stage yet, but the persecutable minority who are morally despicable has been found ... it's the dirty "unjabbed" that need to be exterminated and then life could be awesome!

It's actually an electric furnace which heats water supplied to wet radiators (with hot water coming from a completely different electric immersion heater) - there is no gas in my rural location. It was installed many years before I bought the house and there seem to be hardly any of them around. I think it probably dates back to the early 1990s. There has been some kind of electrical overloading which has fried at least one, maybe all three, of the internal relays. There's also no guarantee that the element itself hasn't gone too. The manufacturer no longer exists and a search online for known spare part numbers has proved fruitless. So I could spend ages trying to source spare parts; and/or pay 100s for a call-out and repair fee with no guarantee of success; or buy an equivalent modern replacement furnace.

This is the kind of thing where parts continue to be available forever and they are often interchangeable (standard) so it's probably worth to keep investigating a bit more. It just depends which of the bits are broken. When you say relay, do you mean thermostat? Or is it part of the pumping system?

I've now found that the three relays are indeed fried, along with some associated wiring, but I've now taken one of the relays out so I can see exactly what type it is:

image loading...

And you're absolutely right Richy, they seem to very standard and still available, such as https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/non-latching-relays/2452087. So, I'm off to get three of them.....

I wish I knew more about electrical stuff. And lots of other things....

... that looks like you've had a quite substantial power surge or some other over-current situation and close to a fire even, it's quite likely fuses will be blown and other electrical bits might be blown/melted also

... you need an electrician to check the wiring if you're not confident doing electrical work, you don't need a plumber

... it's odd that it has been working fine since 1990 to get such a dramatic failure, maybe you had a lightning strike?

... or if these relays are controlling the power to the main heating element then that might be blown or shorted which caused the overcurrent that fried these relays but the fuses should have blown first and protected these

.... if these relays control the circulation pump then that could be blown also which caused the overcurrent but then same as above, fuses should have protected the relays

... unless it was lightning strike or power surge from the grid (how stable is the power in your area?) then something deeper is amiss ...

.... don't listen to these guys saying to replace the wiring which is a big job for an amateur, not a quick fix,  you just need to either to get this running again so you don't freeze or replace the whole system as you said earlier

... my advice at this point is get an electrician asap, doesn't need to be heating specialist even

He could get one.

He also could see a few dozen YouTube videos and swap out the 3-5 wires and the relays.

It is hard to tell what's wrong since these heaters/furnaces are running a long time to get the house warm.

If it ran for 1990 to 2021.  and the gear was 100.0005% overloaded it will take years of run time and the gear will fail.

I mine a lot hundreds of units. Varied mixed gear. The gear can work fine and is loaded to %70 which should never fail due to over load.

But the voltage supplied from the street could drop to 204 or 200 volts rather than 230/240 this will stress all components and over load wires.

If he is  a 120 volt system he could have a voltage drop to 100 or 105 volts.

This will stress all parts wires relays etc.

And you get meltdown.

So if he replaces relays and alters wires from 18 gauge to 16 gauge. This would end over heating.

Of course could be some other unknown issue. So an electrical guy could be needed.

... yeah if he was confident working on electrical things, replace a few wires maybe with fatter ones, use a meter to check line voltages, etc, that's what I'd do myself

... if he isn't and doesn't isolate the system properly or it has bodge wiring upstream where he can't know which lines are live, it's a deadly dangerous job

...  maybe if we got some photos of the state of the board that the relay was mounted on and wiring connected to it or other fuses and switches we could make a better assessment of damage and state of the system too

Returning home after a period of travel, to find my central heating furnace has died. To summarize a very long (and doubtless boring) story, my furnace is of a very specific type and no local tradesmen are interested in either trying to repair it (which I think is unlikely, since it's 30 years old) or replace it.

So I'm on Day 5 of zero heating and it's 1C outside. Brrrrrr. I made a trip to collect some portable heaters which are currently being rotated around various rooms in the house, which is helping.  But there's no end in sight to this situation. I've fired off several late night emails to various suppliers and contractors in the hope that at least one of them will reply favourably by morning.

I keep checking the Bitcoin price to try to find some positivity in an otherwise cold and cheerless house. In that regard, today is looking a little more optimistic than recent days.

Thought I'd share my tale of woe here in search of some WO brotherly love. I need a (virtual) group hug  Undecided

... hey how about post some more info on the specific issue and maybe some pics and I bet with a few basic tools and knowledge right here you'll get it fixed in no time?

please stop comparing anti covid measures that are supposed to prevent the collapse of the health care system with nazi crap. this trivializes one of the worst crimes in our history and is just plain stupid.

The point is those crimes came about not just because there was an evil criminal at the helm but because everyone for a long time went along with everything that led to these.

My ancestors were I guess "lucky" when they fled to the UK from Russia 100 years ago. Those who ended up in mainland Western Europe at the time not so much as it turned out.

Now sure, I'm not suggesting Austria is about to build concentration camps or extermination facilities just yet but how easy human rights are disregarded and society can be shut down "for the greater good" I definitely think is troubling, as is vaccinating healthy children who stand no risk from Covid 19 itself. Mandating the vaccine in children I bet will be next when even 100% of triple jabbed adults still doesn't stop the spread (note the quickly waning effectiveness after 3-6 months also). Furthermore I wonder if this society shutdown would be accepted without Amazon deliveries, without Netflix and without Pornhub.

As someone pointed out a while ago here in the UK:

We have a National Health Service with a country attached to it.

.... There are divisions that are changing their name to National Health Security Service ....

... this vaccine drive (it's crossed over from a rational rollout into some kind of bizarre moral crusade) has clearly gone off the rails in many mostly Western countries and is careening into authoritarian crazy times

... maybe society was just primed for it and it was inevitable something would come along and have caused the same grasping for totalitarian order in the midst of a chaotic unravelling ... but the progression into totalitarianism is likely exponential in that the creeping expansion of goverment into every part of society experienced for 2-3 decades has gathered pace immensely in the last 2 years

... as with all exponential growth it is easy to ignore the effects until it seems to explode into something outsized and uncontrollable overnight .... gradually then suddenly ...

...you are now into the routine and marching lockstep to get your 5th or 6th booster jab knowing several more thousand will be willingly sacrificed with adverse reactions but feel strongly morally duty-bound to take part in the ritual, you will feel a sense of weird satisfication even knowing with perfect certainty that this is what must be done, some healthy people are going to die ... in fact you will probably feel more connected in solidarity with society and necessity of sacrifice than at any other time in your life, you are volunteering, participating in clubs, the vaccine drives are giving you a sense of purpose and meaning, maybe even a raise in status as you brag about how quickly you got your latest booster, or spat at an unvaxxed

.... at this point you know you are part of the mass hypnosis, basically you are now a drone in a totalitarian ritual sacrifice cult
