Day-night rates never pay for mining, as a flat usage pattern will cost more on that sort of tariff. I don't have any sort of climate charge and standing fee is about £1 a day.
At the time 11.2p was the best I could get on a normal tarriff so it did work out cheaper.

Not sure how you manage to avoid the CCL, and 8p is a very low price so you are lucky.

Mining still dead in the UK at $0.23, and shipping to a host is probably going to be a year to breakeven when the inevitable diff rises happen so no new machines for me Sad
Who are you with, I'm on 8p/KWh (0.12$/KWh).

I'm currently with Eon on a business tariff, I was spending around £1500-£2000 a month and shopped around for the best deal which at the time was

11.83p day rate
6.76p night rate.

Which is an average of 10.56p, then add on the standing charge, climate charge (which goes up quite high when you start spending the above amount) and VAT** and you are up to 15p = $0.23

Now granted electric rates might have come down since then, but I only have a Titan left here, everything else has been sold or shipped abroad.

** I know you will mention claiming the VAT back as we have had this conversation before, but according to my accountant and further consultation with HMRC, because the item that you are selling (BTC) does not atrract VAT, you cannot claim the VAT back for the process of making them.  You can claim the VAT back on buying the machines as you charge it when you sell them.

Don't base your opinion on a single isolated incident like this reported by a (very) problematic dude without hearing the other side story.

Do you know the other side of the story or are you cheerleading ?

We all know that dogie/sp had a heated relationship mainly due the rating in his manufacturers guide, so it appears on the outside to be personal on SP's part.

dogie, If you aren't going the legal route, it at least deserves a post in the scam accusations board.
144  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN launches 4th generation Bitcoin mining ASIC: BM1385 on: August 30, 2015, 07:45:13 AM
It would take me 6 months to ROI with an S7 here if diff and BTC stayed at current Sad
Power is 22.3 cents per KWh in NZ...

Worse than that (same electric rate as here in the UK it sucks !!!)

Cost: 8 (not including shipping)
Income: 0.04504819
Power: 0.02840316
Net: 0.01664503

8 / 0.01664503 = 480 days

Sorry Smiley

Hosted @ 10 cents per kwh or cheaper it would be viable though.. hmm

247 Days

Thx Tigggger.  Very helpful.

I guess there's no way to include the halving in your calculation. So we need to be aware the BE time (aka ROI) is likely longer for each of the electrical rates in your chart. As a very rough estimate, my guess is we can add 25% to the length of time to ROI.

You could do one on individual electric prices, and make a spreadsheet over time, mine is more of a quick and easy guide I'm afraid.

Diff rises have been fairly gentle for a while, but with this new equipment hitting the market for buyers, the innevitable Bitmain S7 self mine, the Hashnest S7 mine, the Pacmic V4 S7 Mine (and possibly LKTec/Innosilicon machines soon) I think the diff is going to get some sizeable jumps in the near future. My best guess would be to add even more say 50% onto the ROI dates, that should cover diff rises and the halving.

My usual spreadsheet, people have said it's been useful in the past.

Price doesn't include shipping, import taxes if applicable or PSU's. Assumes static diff and BTC price, it's just to give a rough idea

Its not under NDA (both a non confidential activity and pre-exists the NDA which was signed for a very specific purpose). tldr they received a huge sale from my affiliate link, retrospectively changed the terms from a much higher tiered commission rate down to a flat %, then retrospectively changed the amount to be store credit, both of which breached their original agreement. The ~$50k is just what they admit to (but won't pay).

That's pretty scummy of them, 50k is surely worth involving lawyers.
148  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DjVoodoo/Crazytragator sent me fraudulent Amazon cards and demanding payment on: August 28, 2015, 04:07:58 PM
If I had to pick a side in this one, 2 pages ago it would have been turtle, now having said that it's not a clear case, therefore the feedback that QS left was entirely justified. It clearly stated the issue along with the statement that it would be removed when the evidence asked for was provided, that wasn't an unreasonable position or request.

You should have left it alone at that point, provided the proof within a few days and it would have removed and there would be no damage to your reputation.

Sadly instead of taking the easy option, you decide to spam multiple other threads and that is probably the reason you were banned by a mod, not by QS, now you are making personal attacks which is not going to make things better.
149  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: August 27, 2015, 11:51:07 AM
It is spelled correctly? I might be wrong

150  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: August 27, 2015, 10:29:35 AM
You were told earlier in this thread that you are not communicating with Sfards, it's a scammer, check your screenshot it says sfadrsservice

Please Be Careful!!!!
We only have one official SFARDS Skype account sfardsservice. If there is any other similar account such as sfardsservice [ASIC market] contacting you. Don’t listen to them and please double check the account you have talk with and make sure you add the right one Smiley
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 26, 2015, 12:49:08 PM
For all the slagging that KNC have got over the titan (and I have done some of it), it's been by a long way the most profitable of all the machines I have bought off them

So here is something not seen in this thread for a long time ......  "Thank you KNC" Smiley
152  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: August 25, 2015, 06:36:28 PM
OK, I must be missing something obvious.

Umisoo price has gone from 0.00006990 to 0.0001, why would it be going up, and why is ANYONE buying it  Huh
153  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: August 25, 2015, 04:12:42 PM
What do you mean by "lose" their investment? No money back for those terminated contracts?
Anyway I think they will mine again as Bitcoin price is rising.

Nothing back at all, they are sold as a contract that runs until 10 days have passed where maintenance fees are higher than income.

At the moment 6 days have gone by, bitcoin would need to reach ~$249 dollars in the next 4 days for them to continue, can't see that happening.
154  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: August 25, 2015, 03:05:20 PM
UMISOO contracts looks very cheap. Are they still mining positive at this rate?

No, and in 4 more days (unless there is a sudden spike in btc price) the contracts will be terminated
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 25, 2015, 08:44:54 AM
It seems like an ideal thing to have a check box for (and a 'view log' button maybe).

Most of the time you'd want it off but if tweaking or new firmware or issues tick the box to see whats happening
156  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashnest 's newest PACMiC Cloud Mining Contract on: August 25, 2015, 08:41:42 AM
ICBW but...

The 0.098 does not come off anything, there is no maintenance fees on pacmic contracts.

That price is only relevant if difficulty jumps or btc falls and they would be unprofitable to run on 0.098 electric, that is when they suspend the contract.
157  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: August 25, 2015, 08:36:30 AM
Yea with 200 BTC and $3 LTC (equivalent of $1.5 after that halving tomorrow, which is the same it was pre pump) things are not looking too good for any sort of mining in general.

It is sad they missed the halving.  It is crazy thinking about this to me.  I would have been pumping out these machines as much as I could long before that halfing.

Now the question comes did they mine them their self, and selling 5 to a few resellers.  I will be very curious to say the least if they have lot's of stock after the halving.   If they suddenly come with new batch in a day or two we will know they were mining their self.

I think you nailed it on the head and it was my thought also.

They went into mass production over 5 months ago and yet as you say only a few have been seen in the wild.  Their lack of interest in this thread also shows that retail sales were never their priority so it was either a means to attract big purchasers or investment in their own mine, which also explains the silly prices they were sold at.

Machines could start appearing in the next few days, but the way things look at the moment on the market, incoming halving of LTC and with previous prices they are going to have to drop the price a huge amount to make them worth buying, that will probably mean they will carry on mining themselves.

158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best exchange to buy Litecoin? on: August 24, 2015, 10:24:25 PM
The biggest exchange volume wise is BTC-E and they have been around for a long time, that's where I do all my LTC sells never had any problems

But as with any exchange don't leave money or coins on them. Deposit and Buy, or Sell and Withdraw Smiley
159  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN launches 4th generation Bitcoin mining ASIC: BM1385 on: August 24, 2015, 03:37:52 PM
Well, at first there were 27 available and now its 21. I suspect someone might have sent coins. :/ Leaving - trust too.

Hopefully it's just us sticking them in the basket, and not unfortunate people getting scammed.

Last batch of s5+: <snip link>

This is probably a scam!

Note that the text of the link above says "bitmaintech.com", but the actual domain is "bitmaintech.co". Looks like "bitmaintech.co" was registered on Friday August 21st, 2015.

The main bitmaintech.com site says nothing about batch 2.

Very well spotted, I had no intention of buying one but did click for a look and never noticed.

Entered all fake info and the payment address was
15fzSz7bErfNd9j8pvv9iqdJcnaXbUpcx1

Probably the same for all orders, maybe someone else can check. strike that mavericklm beat me to it Smiley

PS. Always wise to delete these links when quoting, saves the mods having to delete multiple posts.
