1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 02, 2023, 01:09:13 PM
What a terrible season for Liverpool. Can't seem to sell the club, so we're stuck with owners that don't want us, we've had one of our worst seasons in recent memory, definitely our worst under Klopp. We've just had the chance to mitigate some of our problems by making a few signings, and we basically didn't do anything. Especially, to that midfield that needed reinforcement. Looks like we've accepted our fate this season. I guess we must be holding out for some big moves in the summer, right?

I'm going for a Fulham win, Arsenal win, Aston Villa win, and Brentford win this weekend. Liverpool have Wolves, so we'll probably lose against then, let's be honest. We haven't had the best of luck with them recently.

Liverpool and their fans are going through a difficult period. Disappointment has resulted from a lack of investment in the team, combined with a poor run of form. While it's understandable to hope for better in the summer transfer window, it's critical to stay focused on the present and support the team in the meantime. Good luck with your weekend predictions; it will be fascinating to see how the games unfold.

It’s tough but football goes in cycles. Looks like Arsenal might be starting theirs now. I just really hope we get new owners ASAP, we spend less (net) than most teams in the league on players. It’s just not sustainable to stay competitive at the top table of European football.

I’ve seen us win everything but I’ve seen the bad times too. A true fan stands by their team & I will always do that.

Wolves away at the weekend & I am not confident.
1402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 12,000 in 2023. on: February 01, 2023, 11:13:16 PM
Too many people think $15,xxx wasn’t the bottom & too many people are still twerking for new lows which is what makes me think that we have already seen the bottom.

$12,000 is a nearly 50% drop from here, we already dropped over 60% from the ATH. It’d take a real catastrophic event to see $12,000. I can’t see it but nothing is impossible.
1403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 01, 2023, 09:04:15 PM
Still ranging, wondering if the recent pump has legs? We’re up over 30% in the last month which is pretty significant. What kind of price confirms the start of a new bull market, maybe $30,000?

I’d like to see us break & hold $25,000. Maybe we need a retest of $20,000 to confirm that $15,500 was indeed the bottom.

So many questions but only answered with time. Whatever, HODLERS not affected.

1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 01, 2023, 05:44:10 PM
Even when it is still so obvious people still believe that Champions league has a different spirit and that is the spirit Liverpool will come with and perform wonders. I keep laughing at them because they forgot that it is Madrid that Liverpool will play. Real Madrid is like the grand masters of Champions league and with most experienced coach in the Champions League.

Real probably won’t have to be in top gear to beat us at the moment. We are a pale shadow of the team we were, one of the most feared in Europe since 2018. We are in transition & the team needs major surgery. I’m not even sure it’s possible with our current owners. They won’t give Klopp the money to compete, look at what Chelsea are spending. It’s inevitable you can’t compete with spending like that.

I just hope Klopp can continue to work wonders on a pitiful budget. But for the CL last 16, Real will destroy us.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 31, 2023, 02:05:53 PM
Seems a long way away but it’ll likely fly by & we’ll be here before we know it. Too early to start predicting who will in it, Messi won’t be playing nor Ronaldo. So much can happen in football in that amount of time. The US actually have a good, young team. They could surprise a few people with home advantage.
France will be there, Mbappe should be in his peak, Spain have some real stars too.
I won’t make any solid predictions though.

Paul Robinson, good goalkeeper. I remember him well. One of only a handful of goalkeepers to ever score in the PL.

Today we have Brighton vs Liverpool & after the last time Klopp took the Reds there, I am definitely not looking forward to it Cheesy

And after I said to myself not to waste any more money on the Reds, I threw away a bit more. How do you rank our worst performances this season? Impossible. Every single Brighton player performed better at passes completed in opponent's half than our entire forward/midfield.

And Fabinho coming on, first key pass so bad, first key tackle could have been a red, he needs a cold storage placement because he has lost all confidence.

Mitoma's goal was pretty slick, rarely see that kind of feint in the air these days. May they go on and win the FA Cup. Don't let City please.

Dude, selfishly I just want the season to end (LFC wise). I’m really dreading the CL last 16 tie with Real, we are going to get absolutely schooled. Injuries haven’t helped, we miss Luis Diaz desperately, Jota is a miss too, plus VVD.

Midfield is the main problem though, realistically we need 2-3 top class midfielders before we can think of competing next season. New owners would be a blessing because I can’t see FSG backing Klopp enough. The club is supposedly up for sale. Bring me that oil money!

Wolves away next, I have the chance to go as that stadium is less than 45 mins from where I live but I’m not sure if I want to go at the moment Cheesy

Well done Southampton for winning against Blackpool and going in the next stage of FA Cup!
It was great day for Romain Perraud who scored two goals and now Saints are waiting to see their next FA Cup opponent.
Amazing how Southampton made so far in both cups, in two days they play second leg against Newcastle in EFL Cup semi-finals.

Indeed, well done to Southampton, in the draw for the next round. They’re doing really well in the cups, I hope they’re able to transfer that form into the Premier League soon.

Today we have Brighton vs Liverpool & after the last time Klopp took the Reds there, I am definitely not looking forward to it Cheesy

Looks like she’s trying to break out again. Wonder if we’ll break $24,000 this weekend, if we do I doubt there’s much stopping us from going straight through $25,000.

Page parity soon?

Man City 0-0 Arsenal after 14 minutes. Both teams have made a few changes from what you might consider their best XI’s. The game is quite intense though, no big chances yet but very competitive. This game won’t tell us much about what will happen in the title race but fun to watch nonetheless.

Copa Del Rey tonight and Real Madrid vs Atletico is of particular interest. That game is always spicy, full of passion and sometimes outright violence Cheesy

I think something like over 6.5 cards looks a really attractive prospect. This game is usually always an absolute dog fight, they absolutely hate each other.
1419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin compete with CBDC's? on: January 26, 2023, 03:19:43 PM
CBDC’s are effectively just a stablecoin with spyware. Your government will use a CBDC to control you, to spy on you. Everything you spend will be monitored, every single cent of income will be visible and open to taxation. The very thought of a CBDC is evil. It’s intrusive, I don’t like it at all.

Of course bitcoin can compete with any potential CBDC. Bitcoin is the exact opposite of a CBDC. Bitcoin is decentralised, it has a capped supply of 21 million. The fiat value of bitcoin is designed to go up forever. Your CBDC has none of these features.
