Big weekend of football ahead for us.

sportsbet.io Newcastle United vs Arsenal perhaps the standout game of the weekend. I’m unsure which way this will go but I definitely expect both teams to score. It’s unlikely to be a defensive game.

Elsewhere Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga should be a good watch. Bayern will start as favourites but it’s a young, exciting Dortmund team, I have a feeling they might sneak a win, especially with the yellow wall in full voice.

What are you betting on this weekend guys, what takes your interest?

Atlético Madrid is very strong this season. They have a strong squad. And they are consistently performing well. They have earned 25 points from 10 matches. If they win the next match, Atletico Madrid will be able to keep the top spot in the points table.
Atlético Madrid have talented players like Griezmann, Depay, Correa and Morate in their attack. And that's why Atletico Madrid's attack is so strong this season. Atletico Madrid managed to score 25 goals in 19 matches. And because of a strong attack, Atletico Madrid have been able to maintain consistency.

Atletico can never be ruled out at any time. Under Simeone they’ve always been a good team, they play turgid football, really ugly but it’s effective.

It wouldn’t surprise me one but if they compete for the title this season. They’re far from favourites but they’re definitely in the conversation.

@coryklippstein
This Bitcoin bull market feels like it'll be WAY more real and meaningful than the last one.

We've shed a decent bit of "crypto" baggage, added a ton of macro / asset manager types to the wagon, added a ton of functionality, and expanded the ecosystem dramatically.

Liverpool was the perfect club for Bellingham's legacy to develop - especially under Klopp.
That's why I was so pissed that we missed on the CL spots this season. With CL secured we might have stood a chance whereas without it it was clear from the start that we simply aren't in the race at all.

It's incredibly hard for a club like Liverpool to bring a player in his prime from Madrid, so that ship has sailed forever.

He looks like he could become one of the greats. I was disappointed at the time but would we have been able to sign Szoboszlai, Mac Allister and Gravenberch if we got Jude? I dunno if 3 really good players > 1 world class player? I think the wages were a factor too. Maybe i’ve been brainwashed by FSG and using copium but I think we are a better team with the three we got than if we only got Bellingham. Imagine Henderson and Fabinho were still here but we got Bellingham.

Any way, I guess no point lusting for what we don’t have. Let’s batter Luton on Sunday and continue our good form. Hopefully Arsenal drop points this weekend, won’t be easy for them away at Newcastle especially after they battered Man Utd last night. Confidence will be high for the Toon Army.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 02, 2023, 08:35:54 AM
Ten Hag is in real trouble in my opinion. He has spent a lot of money but it’s the same old story for Man Utd. What happened to that once great club. Ferguson knew when to get out.

The fans constantly blame the owners but every manager they’ve had since Ferguson has been given more than enough money for players. If this current form continues Ten Hag will be unemployed before Christmas.

I will most likely gamble until I am older, health permitting, yes. Most gambling is online now so it’s easy to place bets from the comfort of your own home.

Occasionally though I go to a physical bookies, just for a change. A lot of the people in there betting are older men actually. They specifically bet on horses, I think it’s a generational thing. They like to walk to the bookies every day and sit in there for a few hours watching the races they’ve bet on. It’s probably a social thing for older guys, have a chat and a coffee etc.

All this talk about Maradona, and I remember that in few days one of his clubs Boca Juniors is playing in Final of Copa Libertadores against Fluminense.
This is going to be very interesting match played in Rio de Janeiro Maracana stadium, that is big advantage for Fluminense playing in front of their supporters.
Boca Juniors have much more experience winning trophies and Copa Libertadores, but Fluminense wants to prove they are better than Flamengo this year.
Very tricky match for prediction, and Fluminense first have to play against Bahia in few hours.

Who do you think wins Copa Libertadores this year?

I’m quite interested in this match, I want to watch Andre Trindade of Fluminese. He’s been heavily linked with Liverpool as a potential January signing.

He plays defensive midfield but is very good at distributing the ball, he has a good passing range. I’ll be supporting Fluminese and checking this guy out.

Vinicius has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid that goes until 2027. He seems like he was born to play for Real Madrid. Congratulations to him, but it appears that he might be losing focus on game. Vini should step up his game. While it's true that the current system may not be ideal, given his immense potential, he can perform at a higher level. It would be great to see his skills shine on the field. Real Madrid includes a €1 billion release clause in their contracts to prevent other clubs from trying to buy their star players. That release clause is too much anyway.

Real are set for the future, they have ridiculously talented young players that will be elite for many years. It really gives them a platform to potentially dominate for years. Camavinga, Rodrygo, Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Vinicius, the club is oozing world class talent.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: October 31, 2023, 07:14:59 PM
I think Haaland possibly should have been crowned but I understand why Messi was voted as the best player in the world. I mean domestically Messi wasn’t great but winning the World Cup was all he was missing from his trophy laden career.

I just feel like Haaland’s season was better than Messi’s. Possibly it was a sentimental reason Messi was crowned but I don’t think too many people will complain.

It’ll be interesting to see who wins it next year. It won’t be Messi or Ronaldo, their time is over due to age. It’s time for the new class to emerge.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 31, 2023, 04:28:24 PM
Brentford does it again, I think this is their 3rd consecutive win at Stamford Bridge. That alone is telling so much about the worst 1 billion dollar team in football's history.
I wonder what happens next there - will they keep pushing this or will they change strategy? If they change it, who will take all these players on lucrative 7-year contracts?

I have never seen such incompetence on a elite sports level. I feel that an average kid with Football Manager would have put together a much more balanced team with more quality.

Chelsea remind me of Leeds in the late 90’s to early 00’s. They are gambling with the clubs future by putting players on these stupid contracts.

All it takes is 3-4 seasons of poor form, no Europe and all of a sudden they could be in real trouble.
Chelsea are not too big to go bust.

Fury’s promotor said that after a less than impressive performance by The Gypsy King, this fight is unlikely to happen in 2023. It’s far more likely that we will have to wait until 2024. It just builds the suspense I guess, this is the fight everybody wants to see, to unify the heavyweight division.

Another win for Liverpool, just quietly going about our business. Only 3 points off 1st place, other teams getting all the plaudits but not pulling away from us.

I quietly fancy us to have a really good season. Confident that we finish no lower than 3rd, we’ll see what happens though. Luton away and Brentford at Anfield next. Just keep winning games and let’s look at the league table in New Year.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 28, 2023, 09:55:17 AM
Spurs fans on social media are getting very loud and very confident. They are starting to annoy me so I am fully supporting Crystal Palace tonight.

They are not a great team Palace but at home they are tough to beat, their home crowd is really passionate, they create a great atmosphere, you could say intimidating especially on night kick offs.

I think they could beat Spurs tonight. Come on Palace, pop the bubble.

Can’t believe they keep getting away with it Cheesy

1 shot on target last night but still won, scoring 2 goals.

The collapse is coming soon, I can feel it Wink
