They would have to be smart enough to conceive of it first. Also, they are all about total control. They can't control btc. Where are all the CIA whales?
As much as I'd love a good conspiracy here, this one is merely chemtrails (bogus)

Something like OP's scenario would have been leaked already, were it true. I honestly think people are way to willing to give these organizations more credit than they deserve. CIA ain't smart enough, sneaky enough yes, amoral enough, check! Smart? Not so much.
At any rate; "the truth will out"!

Is there any interest in putting together money for advertisement space on the forum? I'd be willing to throw down for the forum and on dogie's reviews
This should be covered by operating costs. Simple as that. If FC has a more cost efficient strategy regarding advertising (i.e. He has buyers lined up already, a private referral network, maybe he is focused on large scale Chinese clients?) it would be good to know about. Personally, I can't really spread info word-of-mouth wise since I have very little info and am not sure where to refer interested parties. Advertising works and is one of the costs of doing business. This needs work here. Of course, if divs are fat and % of network hash rate is large, that will call attention. ...waiting (slightly impatiently)

I actually considered this venture right before Kyle blew it. Just couldn't line up something so sleazy with a trustworthy investment. Thank goodness I didn't invest.
Fuckin millenials... The entitled generation. Get a fuckin job.

Just the fact that these guys discussed btc would have blown the lid off things only a year ago. That they consider btc at all should say something to all the doubters, but we won't see any effect unless they actually start accepting it.
I do welcome this type of news though. It shows that professionals, and not just enthusiasts, are taking btc seriously.

They should have a proper website for sales. If there is some strategy behind the existing one, I'd love to hear it.

8btc will conduct an exclusive interview with FC/Asicminer lately. Please leave your questions for FC/Asicminer in this--> thread. any one have other questions to add on there before tomorrow?? I would like to see a breakdown of the % of hashrate that is AM's farm, plus the % that is franchisees. some financial reports would be nice.

MSD is reviewing the case in september, or october... cant remember exactly, I didn't save the email they replied to me with everyone here should give MSD their info, it doesn't matter what country you are in or when you purchased, the guy from MSD told me that their main objective is to get investors their money back. At this point I've written off the whole Kenny Gong Show, but putting my hat in the ring with MSD couldn't hurt, they're going after him anyway. If the "nanny state" can squeeze some $$$ out of that fat loser than so be it, I want my share.

I got an ASUS notebook on sale for 99$. Its worth it when you consider the value of the btc you are protecting. I dont really know anything about rasberry pi, but I understand they are quite economical. Are you planning to use armory watch only client? If so you can find all the info you need here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=97.0

I think psychology plays a huge role in btc adoption, namely, basic notions people have to get over. One example is btc's divisibility. An example; I have gotten my brother interested in btc, and he wants to purchase some, but he tells me the price is too high; he only feels comfortable risking under 200$. I tell him no problem, buy 200 dollars worth, you will get approximately 0.45 btc. Then he's all like " but I want a WHOLE btc!" Some little OCD part of his brain won't be ok with holding less than one whole btc. It's stupid, but not surprising. People like round numbers. With this in mind, lower btc price could encourage more new adoption, but the crash in value needed for the lower price may just cancel out this sentiment.

Anyone care to speculate on the size of the upcoming div? So far I have no clues
|
|
|
I fear that it will. Greed and a highly unregulated market are a dangerous mix. It would be a shame to see btc ruined this way.
|
|
|
I've felt this sentiment for a very long time. Manipulation of the traditional markets through margin trading is so prevalent that it is merely an accepted way of doing business. If it can be done on huge markets like forex, a comparatively tiny market like btc would be like shooting fish in a barrel. Now that btc has the big players attention we are going to see more and more manipulation, its how those guys play.
what btc really needs is mass adoption. if its primary use is as a speculative instrument it will continue to get pumped and crashed to the point where no one will trust it as a means of exchange. I'm afraid we are going to see many many scandalous manipulations of the price through unscrupulous exchanges and traders before we see anything remotely resembling trust here.

I asked my buddy Ted Nugent what he thought about this thread and he shot my dog shit in his pants.
Since when was Ted Nugent a cop? There. I fixed that for you.
