681  Economy / Securities / Re: [CRYPTO-TRADE] Crypto-trade.com IPO and official thread! on: June 29, 2015, 06:01:59 PM
Looks like this exchange is a scam as well. Probably unrelated to the other scam "crypto::trade" unless these scammers are getting so cocky they don't even bother to try and appear legit... I wouldn't blame them. It is simply too easy to rob the fools in these forums. Why even bother making any effort to hide?
682  Economy / Speculation / Re: Eyes on Greece? on: June 29, 2015, 05:50:18 PM
Exactly what I was thinking. Even if the Greeks wanted BTC there is no way to get significant amounts in any sort of instant manner. You need to be verified at an exchange which can take weeks, then you need to transfer funds which can also take a week or two. Never mind the bank is closed so transfers are out of the question.
There's also the BTC learning curve to consider. I would be hesitant to rush and turn all my fiat into an experimental, volatile, easy to steal digital currency unless I felt I had studied it learned everything about it and felt secure in my knowledge to store it safely. One does not simply acquire BTC overnight...

If there was going to be any sort of BTC boom in Greece it would have already happened, started weeks ago, and ended by now.
683  Economy / Speculation / Re: Long Time Lurker Here. I feel Bitcoin is about to push, pounce, upwards. on: June 27, 2015, 11:22:59 AM
I doesn't feel right for me. It will feel great if it does, but that would be after the fact and I have my doubts. Does OP have anything to base his feelings besides gut instinct and looking at past performance? If not, it's just wishful thinking, don't let me stop you, but taking shots in the dark will never hit your target.

Dream on little dreamer.
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you pay for a hardware wallet? on: June 27, 2015, 11:10:55 AM
I paid about 50 dollars for my ledger and am satisfied. I paid more than that for my leather fiat holding wallet so why not? If I could get all the features and security of my ledger for 15 dollars I would gladly shell out that much, but as I said, I've already got a ledger so I'm good. If they start making really cheap wallets I might look at them but I would have to be sure it was trustworthy and safe first. We will probably see hardware wallets come out for very low cost soon, more every day
685  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.vnbitcoin.org/ Rebate on: June 27, 2015, 10:19:56 AM
I don't understand what product you received. I looked up vnbitcoin and all I saw was a cloud mining service with a buy and sell Bitcoin exchange attached.
What is the rebate you are talking about? Do you mean Bitcoin owed to you from hash rate you supposedly purchased?
If you can't get through and have seen no money you were promised for 7 months and have no response to your emails I think it is safe to assume you have been swindled my dear friend.
Of course, I don't even know what you "received" or why you are entitled to a "rebate" so it's hard to say. My guess is
That vnbitcoin are long gone, whoever they are and whatever it is they do.

I hope that clears things up a little for you because now I'm confused

EDIT - I went back and looked at vnbitcoin again and they aren't selling anything actually. It's some website that has BTC and ltc prices some charts and links to download free mining software. It looks sketchy because it doesn't offer anything and you OP are spamming the link to it with some confusing story. Was there things for sale on it 7 months ago? There's sure nothing there now. I would warn against visiting vnbitcoin at all and strongly urge all users to absolutely not download anything that's offered there. I'm on an iPod now and I never use it for anything sensative so I don't care what I browse but I wouldn't touch vnbitcoin with a 50 foot pole on my good computer.

This is a weird one, I think it's click-bait phishing actually.

EDIT 0.2 - Hang on a second! Now I think I've figured this out... they tricked you into using their affiliate link so THEY (vnbitcoin) could get revenue from the affiliate link then kept the rebate that they never had any intention of passing along to you in the first place.
Complain to kncminer, I suppose, you won't get any rebate but vnbitcoin is misleading people and should be banned from advertising for them (and bamboozling you)
686  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMHASH] 10 BTC REWARD FOR INFO ABOUT AMHASH OWNERS on: June 27, 2015, 12:14:19 AM
Let's focus on NLC instead.  After all, he told us this was a scam... how'd he know, if he's not a part of it himself, hmm?
And what about all the other scams he warned us about?  I mean, those all seemed super legit, how'd he know?  I say we track that little smartass piece of shit down first and have a good talk with him, if you boys know what I mean Wink

Any chance we can direct the fund to take out NotLambChop. I have all his details if anyone wants to pay him a visit.

Ive never seen NLC call any offering anything BUT a scam. his trolling defeats itself because he unanimously carpet-bombs these threads with scam accusations. There is nothing he has ever supported... maybe MPOE or MPex or whatever that ponzi is called... and it has been said he is either under employ of Mircrea Popscue or actually the man tranny himself. besides, if he was part of the scam why would he suggest that it was indeed a scam?

he's annoying as hell, but just a troll... I haven't even seen him around here for a while anyway...
687  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMHASH] 10 BTC REWARD FOR INFO ABOUT AMHASH OWNERS on: June 26, 2015, 05:47:23 PM
Looking at this whole fiasco in retrospect some things stand out.
I'm going to talk primarily about AM because they are AMHASH, it was their machines, they controlled the wallets, they took the profits, rockxie was just a manager, a middle man, a stooge. If you want info on AMHASH look no further than AM.
That said, the beginning of the end for AM (at least the most obvious) came around the time of FC's "salon" last summer, the famous "we will crush the competition" speech and the "lab coin" slides he showed, that salon.
Around the same time FC was giving weak lip service to what was supposedly PR and shareholder reassurance, and they were (falsely) claiming the last gen chips were amaze-ballz there was a pretty huge sell off of shares on the market, ~4000 in one go IIRC. That should have been a giant red flag, I know a few here noticed... Great news and reassurance all round yet investors dumping large? Sounds like insider info to me. Actually, considering that the lies coming from FC while it all went down... Blatant manipulation is most accurate.
This all happened before AMHASH was even realized, just before it. Looks like AMHASH was a premeditated scam then. FC and friends (?) already knew that AM was doomed, they couldn't budge the useless AM1 price with their grandest lies to shareholders and decided to burn everybody with the side-scam AMHASH, a quick little money generating ponzi "fuck you" as a sort of farewell and thank you to all the lovely people who made them rich (but obviously not rich enough)

I would suggest OP invest his 10 BTC in a Chinese private eye to hunt down FC, then point the Chinese cops at FC, then pay the Chinese PI to video FC's execution in n front of firing squad. That's as much value as you will ever see from AM
Show's over folks, nothing left to see but us shit-hawks here.
688  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 26, 2015, 05:09:59 PM
Assbot? Lol to that! But seriously... Who would be dumb enough to have ANY sort of "buy" set up, at any price, with any movement, regarding AM1?
I only check havelock periodically to see if they have delisted AM yet.
I also do not think even a n00by could miss the last 20 or so pages of this thread that are basically AM's obituary. There aren't even the customary few trolls pretending to defend this dead duck. Not even one delusional loser holding out hope. Nada. AM has been unanimously declared absolutely irrefutably dead.

Maybe the AM action has something to do with havelock managing the partial shares, the AM100 fractionally? Maybe it's some slight of hand by havelock trying to offset some losses before they shut this farce down 100%?

Only a matter of time before they go the way of every other exchange (pretty much) the toilet must get flushed!

I'm going to study the movement of AM100 fractional shares and see what I can see...

Oil immersion cooling has been round for years, I understand big studios like Pixar are all over it. Chips generate heat.
What I don't understand is AM1's resistance around 0.005... What could anyone possibly expect from this cadaver?
Just wild longshot bets? Hoping for aliens to land and present the winning powerball? I don't get it. I could see bagholders holding in hopes of some outside chance, living in total denial, yes, but they create no volume.
This is so depressing

Are there any recent takers at 0.005?
Today 5 shares went for 0.0062
One share yesterday at 0.005
Drips and drops but on the 22nd 180 shares traded at 0.0062999
Defies logic
See it here https://www.havelockinvestments.com/order.php?symbol=AM1
It's not much volume, but any action at all makes no sense.
Bigger fools?

691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Canadian Government Decides -- Bitcoin is Hands Off -- No Real Regulation on: June 25, 2015, 04:00:08 PM
Canadian govt for all its flaws does actually have a history of encouraging innovation in fields of science and technological by. I think this is just another example. It's like a photo op for these politicos. Support a oddball tech gizmo thingy and get your name in the paper.
Still, it's good news, and I look forewarn to seeing doors open and support offered to innovators in the crypto sphere in Canada. We give out grant money for almost anything else, might as well throw some at BTC. This senate ruling is just the beginning!
692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Executive Says 21 Million Cap Increase Inevitable on: June 25, 2015, 03:50:26 PM
Whenever I see debate over sig campaigns and wether they should be banned from the forums here it brings to mind threads like these. People posting whatever unfounded FUD and disinformation to bolster their post count. Notice how many posters in this thread have ads in their sigs?

Notice the ad in my sig? It takes one to know one! Doesn't mean this thread is any less crap or OP any less a fa9907
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding how bitcoin works is IRRELEVANT on: June 25, 2015, 03:41:29 PM
Agree with the above.
You don't need to know how your car works either, but it can be to your advantage if you do. Like if it won't start, for example.
Also, BTC is suffering these days. Why? There is no killer app. There is no use case where BTC is uniquely best suited. Ignorance of the mechanics of BTC is not going to help us find the very thing that will propell BTC to ubiquity.

No you don't need to know how BTC works, but you should want to!
694  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-21] DailyMail: The bitcoin drug baron: Mother thought her 'gentle son' on: June 23, 2015, 05:24:59 PM
Most parents have no idea of what their kids get up to, online or anywhere else. Nothing new there.
Also most parents will refuse to accept their children are even capable of doing anything untoward even when unrefutable proof is shoved right in their face.
I don't think DPR's mothers opinion matters here. Just a manipulative human interest piece... "Do you know where your children are?"
695  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-23] CD - Bitcoin Network Survives Surprise Stress Test on: June 23, 2015, 05:16:57 PM
I'm not sure I'd call this a success. If the network wants to equal the transactions of say Visa, they need to handle a LOT more than 2 transactions per second.
Let's see how next weeks experiment goes...
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Mining mogul FriedCat has stolen more than a million in AM hash SCAM on: June 22, 2015, 10:29:26 PM
Didn't someone suggest that FriedCat went to work for BitFury?
I wonder what thief shareholders would think of having a thief and turncoat in thief employ?
697  Other / Meta / Unsure why deleted on: June 16, 2015, 07:46:04 AM
I am not mad, or even bothered in the least, by this recent deletion, I simply fail to see the error of my ways. why is this post (quoted below) unacceptable? the violence is so vaguely suggested as to not truly be a threat... is it because i said i would like to punch a guy in the face? I was only being honest. the guy stole a lot of money from me. I'd actually like to kill him... doesn't mean i will. I don't even consider what I said that threatening... pretty obvious i was just venting, isn't it?

i just want to clear up the reason for the deletion of the post... so i can avoid making the same faux pas again

If he cashed out all the AM wallet coins he has what? 7 million USD? I could easily retire in Thialand/Cambodia/Vietnam, or any of a dozen other SE Asian countries with a only couple hundred thousand $$$ with a million I'd live like a king, mansion, swimming pool, servants...everything. Even if he's only got a million, he's set for a life of luxury, no problems. Plus it is so corrupt down there, and so full of people who seek to "disappear" he will have no problem staying hidden.

Fuck, if I had a couple million USD, I could retire anywhere I wanted to. A nice house on 1/4 acre in Portland OR costs ~$300,000 and Portland's nice!

Unless any of you can afford a private eye, FC will never be found. Even if you find him with a PI, you still need to abduct him back to where he will face justice (china) and they'll just take all the money.

I'm 6foot2 weight 215lbs done construction most of my life.
I'd love to know where he is. I'd crowd fund a trip to go visit him.
(picture of FriedCat here)
Its the look on their face before my fist obliterates it that I enjoy most [end quote]

some guidance would be much appreciated
698  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloudthink.io - the next scam in town? on: June 16, 2015, 07:02:48 AM
arent they the same guys that run Da Dice?  Da Dice also gets accused of scamming quite a bit too. I'm not really up to snuff on these things. I never gamble and I am so over investing in anything in the btc sphere that the very mention of the words BTC and investment turn my stomach.

anyone interested in my 100 shares of ASICminer? maybe you can figure out why I'm cynical?
699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big question about Bitcoin XT. on: June 16, 2015, 06:44:38 AM
Litecoin seems to me a poor choice in this context because it has a similar max blocksize problem as Bitcoin. Kind of like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. The same issue is present in many POW alt-coins because for the most part they were cloned from Bitcoin and kept the fixed blocksize limit in the process. The notable exceptions are the Cryptonote coins of which the most liquid is Monero.

Edit: I expect Bitcoin to eventually deal with the 1 MB blocksize limit after some turmoil, which is why I still hold some Bitcoin.

I'm holding LTC (and other coins soon, preferably POW) temporarily until everything is settled with BTC's current dilemma.  Mike Hearn did mention BTC could get wrecked, and that scared me.

where did he mention it could get wrecked? I mean, btc could die any time, everyone should be able to grasp this possibility... but did Mike Hearn say specifically that the switch to 20mb blocks could destroy btc? it could, but monkeys could fly out my butt too.

EDIT- just saw this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1089283.0 after posting here... I get it, but it is worst case scenario, meaning pretty much what I already said... it might, but might is the could of maybe-land... probably wont.
700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIRST EVER GALLERY EXHIBITION TO ACCEPT BITCOIN! on: June 16, 2015, 06:39:18 AM
that's good but i am surprised there is no mention, or use, of ascribe.io. that the artist accepts btc for her work isn't really any big deal in that it is neither a unique or new event, but also... she could accept anything just as easily... the event suggests a sort of publicity stunt.

i don't want to rain on her parade, but why is the fact she accepts btc any big deal? I've been involved in the arts all my life and seen plenty of barter and trade takes place. many artists prefer to work outside the system. accepting btc is akin to saying "I only accept rupee for my art" it is just one of a panoply of currencies available.

ascribe.io however is a much different thing. ascribe.io is a blockchain based verification of authenticity, provenance and ownership. it is especially useful for selling limited editions, something that is common with photo-work.

i wish the artist luck with her show, and the work is nice too, but i urge her to look into ascribe.io. she wont be the first to sell her work using it but i think she will still be a trailblazer. she isn't the first to offer her work for btc anyway. might as well use the tech to do something fiat cant do.... I'm not affiliated with ascribe.io, but I wholly endorse it and in this case it could be of great benefit to both artist and patron.

check it out at https://www.ascribe.io/
