Obviously I'm now curious to see what the community thinks of our fellow member.  Sometimes he cracks me up and sometimes he kills my brain-cells....lets now rant about this guy and his colorful avatar (which I still think is very cool).
1462  Other / Off-topic / Re: This thread WILL change your life! on: September 03, 2013, 08:11:55 AM
Finally, a thread with real sustenance.

At first I thought you had something of wisdom...but now I'm starting to feel like I lose brain cells from your postings....I mean damn....you're fuckin bored dude.
1463  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How long will it take to reach 1 billion difficulty? on: September 03, 2013, 07:41:20 AM
I am predicting March of 2014.

This -  You guys really believe in X^2 to happen month after month after month?  Someone needs to show some mathematics to substantiate the GH required to make it 1B by next January.

If Cointerra, Hashfash, Terrahash, and Bitfury all happen together around early Dec, then Yes its possible.  (Anyone who regards BFL or Avalon as a threat needs to realize that those are now the larger chipsizes)  BFL is simply doing a dead cat bounce and clawing for their life to keep money coming in ala Monarch announcement.
1464  Economy / Economics / Re: NASDAQ vs BTC on: September 03, 2013, 07:38:08 AM
My take from the two charts, is this;  NASDAQ took decades to blast off and then begin solid forward movement. BTC is doing the same thing in years.

wow guys thats really prolific - put in a small egg now and retire in years not decades! Beyond pure btc investments, there are also btc company asset shares that can be purchased from bitfunder.  We've even got Rich Winklevoss twins pushing for a public btc etf...those should all be signals to buy in now...not after its too late and they are 3k a coin mainstream.  (3k is a wild fantasy of a guess and i'd likely cash out long before they hit that value)
1465  Economy / Economics / Re: Mt Gox account hacked! on: September 03, 2013, 07:30:56 AM
The good news is that the thief won't be able to get the fiat out for months...

what he says...your dollars/euros are safe but your btc are probably SOL.  Soooo...did you use 2factor authentication?
1466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoAlchemy on: September 03, 2013, 07:25:56 AM
The whole Gold/Bitcoin and Litecoin/Silver is just silly marketing hype, I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

+1 Agree  Fun Wishful Whimsical but ultimately Pointless.
1467  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would you invest in a bitcoin startup who places ATM BTC machines in US cities? on: September 03, 2013, 07:18:27 AM
I would invest FOR CERTAIN.  If you guys are really intent on doing this (despite the stiff competition from other bitcoin atm companies [I believe there are now to at the moment in pre-order stage]), then perhaps consider putting together 5btc and then beggining an asset of shares to trade on bitfunder.  This way, you could get startup capital, and have a way to publicly trade your company like an asset.
1468  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-09-02 Bitcoin’s dilemma: go mainstream, or stay radical? on: September 03, 2013, 07:05:56 AM
Thanks for posting.

I think the Golden rule applies here = he who has the gold makes the rules.  The entrepreneurs will put as much money as they possibly can into promoting bitcoin and what it can do, that they will ultimately win and get bitcoin to go mainstream. We already have several different companies working hard to act as local fiat exchanges into and out of bitcoin.  We are seeing a proliferation of companies coming up that either facilitate the bitcoin protocol or benefit directly from it (take btc payments)

Wordpress
Foodler
Namecheap

Those are some of the early adopters that were established businesses.  I believe that the individuals who claim they want btc to stay in the dark are mislead because when btc becomes mainstream MANY MANY more prospective individuals are exposed to it and the demand for it will go up (increase in price).
1469  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: FinCEN responds to clarification requests on: September 03, 2013, 07:03:56 AM
Thanks Help.org,

I've also sent a letter and am awaiting a reply :

Hello Mr. Hudak,

I am planning to mine for bitcoins myself and will be acting as a buyer and seller of virtual currencies for US dollars.  As an individual, I may have months where I transmit nothing and other months where I transmit literally $1000's of dollars.  I currently reside in CA but plan to move to adjacent states within the next 3-5 years and understand that I will need to comply with the local rules of the jurisdiction where I reside.  In the meantime, can you clarify for me wether or not I will need to register with fincen?  Is there an individual licence or permit that I could apply for which would allow me to participate in the bitcoin economy without worry of fear of my accounts/funds being seized?
1470  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Bitcoin Mining Dashboard - The Genesis Block on: September 03, 2013, 06:37:24 AM
Thanks for the tool - could you put in a modifier to change what the expected added hashpower on the network is?  In other words, people have repeatedly brought up that you cannot double hashrate month after month, it would require exponential gains in productivity figures, that would require double capacity selling and money thrown at the hardware month after month - it doesn't work this way in real life.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 03, 2013, 06:11:40 AM
Whoa, someone just put 15 BTC on Yes >_>

Someone knows something. Think it might be Sam or Andreas? If I were them and I knew we'd be hitting our target, I'd place that bet. Heck ya. That's the whole purpose of an information market, to monetize sharing expectations. And only someone really confident or with insider info is gonna spend $1500... $1950 betting on this

(damn, bitcoin being worth more than $100 is really screwing with my estimated math these days Tongue)

Their action will get paid after my action gets cashed out....comeon guys I want more dummies to lose coins to 'no'!!!!!!

[flash="http://cdn.onlinecountdowns.com/w/_009.swf"][/flash]

Seemed Logical to put this up here guys...Lets put all speculation here and fill and clean up the actual [ann] thread.  With the great news delivered earlier today, I'm feeling highly confident about KNC ETA.  If you disagree with me, then put your btc where your mouth is here:

http://bitbet.us/bet/472/kncminer-will-deliver-asic-devices-before-october-1st/

Looks like more believers are filling up the YES column - so if you disagree (EVE)  then please fill up the NO column with your bitcoin so I can take that too!

Re: your bet:

At least 5 deliveries confirmed by respected members of the community required.

define "respected". I'd say it may be better to give a minimum activity count but some users with high activity count might not be seen as respected. It seems a little arbitrary at the moment.

To me .... 5 different members posting their tracking number on the board here or 5 different sets of Screenshots floating on the internet that show final KNC hardware hashing counts as fair proof in my eyes.  I think you are correct in that 'respected' is somewhat subjective in nature.  I suppose that in the eyes of bitbet, 'respected falls into these following categories:

NOT SCAMMER
NOT NEWBIE (<5 posts or 5 hours on bitcointalk.org)

1474  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: September 03, 2013, 03:10:02 AM
eve is a retard and should die.

just ignore him. see his glowing yellow ignore button?

Does the ignore button become highlighted as more people ignore 'said' person?  With that being said, isn't even not even real??? Its always a repeated message that never has anything positive to say...sum bullshit like "show me the chips!!!!"

1476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Forecast Bitcoin Price Trend in September. Will it give the same surprise as Aug on: September 02, 2013, 11:53:02 AM
I hope it drops to 100 after I dip out at 300....lets ride the volatility wave guys.
1477  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Electricity at 0 cost with this development on: September 02, 2013, 11:35:46 AM
Wikipedia and others say that it breaks the 2nd law of thermodynamics if it is indeed a perpetual motion machine and is thus not possible.  Even a tidal waves machine which would seem to work forever is using the massive force of the earth for mechanical motion on water turbines.

1478  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Selling USB miners on ebay on: August 30, 2013, 09:46:37 PM
I see it and think to myself hmm - if i could sell a knc mercury in hand for like 5k would I?Huh (if I were to drop it right back into btc...then yes i would)
1479  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff increase today (again) on: August 30, 2013, 09:34:05 PM
hash is definitely being delivered and not by bfl.
Than by who? I thought the only other person delivering hashrate was BitFury, and I have a hard time seeing them delivering 100+ TH/s in a matter of a few weeks. No one else has ever rolled out that much hashrate that quickly.

avalon chips and groupbuy hardware comming online from assembly I would believe it were bfl if they had their jalapeno line caught up to current orders and singles caught up to 2013 but they don't and that is where the bulk of their preorder hashrate lies...im just talking out of my ass using opinion at this point....but so are they - until they can give us the qty of units shipped per day (they have no incentive to) we are all simply speculating where its comming from at this point.  I remember the avalon site saying that they had been extorted for hashing hardware in Asia maybe that could be it?

Has KNC ever mentioned what the ideal power supply for a mercury?
