Reasonable intelligent people have voted, and NO is firmly ahead, thus some strong reason for such is possible, albeit I'm honestly not versed as to why, for I have been frying other fish and Jerk Chicken.
Yet, when poll, after poll, after poll,... shows that Brock Pierce should not be on the board of TBF, those espousing such are characterized as non-reasonably-intelligent-people. Hence, the person misdirecting us should be, and is, looked into, especially with how he and his clan tried to take over Mt Coxs.

To be clear, again, I like Erik, having never taken the time, personally, to look into him, always assuming he's one of the good guys. I'm also aware of him owning and selling Satoshi Dice, but never considered anything nefarious about that or him because of such.
I regret that to date I've not had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about him. I like his politics, but in the past he has taken advantage of people that trusted him.
If I would have been thinking clearly due to lack of sleep, I may have gone with Prophet of Bitcoin oppose to Sage based solely on that ONLY ONE post. Besides, my idea was mostly tongue-in-cheek. I like Erik' writing style. Erik keeps a clean desk area. Erik bedroom is all messed up when his lady friend is in town. I like Erik. |

The power went off in my house. And, and a few neighbor's homes, but not all of them. Just scattered along the adjoining local blocks.
But, it wasn't just a neighborhood thing, for when I went to the gas station to purchase more smokes, others from other parts of town were experiencing the exact same thing - scatter outages.
An hour and half later, virtually to the minute according to my internet history, the power came back on sans the usually electrical crews doing repairs.
Here's the kicker: When people called, us included, to report the incidents, we were all informed that ComEd was not aware of any outages in our community.
Has this ever happened elsewhere?

I read the story of a guy who managed to get faucet from a gambling website and get more than 3 btc to pay for his expenses so I thought maybe it can help me with my problems too but I lost some money. Then I came up with a decent strategy and took the loss back with some profit. This strategy had 0.04% chance of losing all the money but that happened and I lost 0.95 btc which was the savings of 1.5 years of work. I had to cut from my other things and save that money, then wire it to my friend's paypal so invest in bitcoins which was his idea actually and it was working just fine before I read about that guy on the internet. Today a friend of me gave me a few more cents in btc, but I lost them again to the same strategy.
I'm from Iran, you can't even imagine the hell I'm living in. 1$ is worth 40,000 my currency and you can get food for a day with that much. People are really poor in this country, we use dial-up internet. I get paid every 1.5 months with just enough to get by. My mother ended up in hospital since three months ago and I had to pay for her because my dad doesn't have enough money. All of the money from my last payment has been spent for my mother's hospital and helping my dad and I was counting on the investment I made in bitcoins to pay the house rent and pay for food. I literally don't have enough money to buy food for more than a week or a few days more than a week.
You can't even think about the quality of life here, I was really rich with those savings before I lost it all. Only rich people have electronic devices and internet a bit better than dial-up. My house rent has already been delayed for 5 months and each month has a 5% fine, this is the last month, if I don't pay for it, I will have my stuff thrown out. I might be able to live with my dad and borrow some money from him for food but I will never do that, he already has his own problems so suicide is only honorable way to go now. I'm working from 8 to 5, and won't have any money until my next payment, I don't have any real life friends to borrow from, my life is literally ruined.
Because of US sanctions I had to use my friend's PayPal to invest my savings throughout this 1.5 year by wiring him the money legally. I have to pay for rents in 5 days and it takes me at least 2 days to sell the bitcoins and have the money in my own currency. I totally lost my life to 0.04% chance of losing, and since I can't pay for my expenses now and my mother gets out of the hospital next week and the money is fully paid, I'm gonna kill myself with poison in 3 days before I starve to death or make a family member some trouble. In those 3 days I'm going to search for a better and more efficient way to kill myself and hope maybe somehow a miracle happens.
I just wanted to say that I don't blame anyone but myself. I wrote the story here but I don't want to name any specific casino because I think that might scare a potential user or two and I really don't have any hard feelings for anybody or any casino. I also want to thank them for their fair service, that was totally my fate to lose to 0.04% and kill myself and I have no hard feelings against that casino or anybody else.
I wish you all a good life and good luck, if any of you know better ways to kill myself other than rat poison please tell them to me in PM. I know cutting myself is probably not gonna work and we don't really have buildings taller than 5 floors that I can jump off. Most people use taxis and old buses and I don't have a personal car either, so rat poison is the only ready option I have available but I read that it's not really efficient either. Please let me know if you know a better way to die for me, help me one last time...

How can one add information to a block?
Sorry if my question sounds dumb, I just don't understand how that is possible.
Step 1. Create a non-standard transaction that includes the information that you want in the transaction output. Step 2. Find a mining pool that is willing to confirm non-standard transactions. Step 3. Submit your transaction to the mining pool. Step 4. Wait for the mining pool to confirm your transaction. Done. Build a mega mining pharm to guarantee more blocks solved for your pool, having paid contracts in hand to dump whatever you were paid to dump into the block with no questions asked. The more unscrupulous the operator, the better. And, if you find a desirable person that fits the bill, but they play too fair, have a couple hookers at the ready to seduce their ass, of which afterwards blackmail them into complying because they have a wife and family to protect (not speaking of harm, but that's probably not outta the question). How close am I? BTW, I've only had four hours sleep in the past 48 hours thanks to researching this shit, taking shits, and talking shit with various people over the tele phony. Why the fuck isn't Europe, et al. not on the same time zone as I? |

The official start of The Bitcoin Foundation was here: Bitcoin is revolutionary because it is decentralized, with no single point of control or failure. However, over the last six months or so it has become obvious to me that the rest of the world isn't set up to interact with a radically decentralized system like Bitcoin, and I think forming a not-for-profit organization will be a positive step towards Bitcoin's long-term success. I'm posting this to see if there is a consensus on what a Bitcoin Foundation should be. To get the conversation started, here are some functions I think a Bitcoin Foundation could perform: - Interact with the legal system, where a centralized entity is needed: for example, to hold the Bitcoin trademark, own/control the bitcoin.org domain name, etc.
- Act as a central library for accurate information about Bitcoin, so journalists and policymakers have an 'official' place to learn about Bitcoin.
- Collect donations to fund infrastructure necessary for Bitcoin's growth (organize regular developers' conferences or get-togethers maybe? pay for development of cross-implementation testing tools? pay core developers' salaries? create a certification/testing program for Bitcoin implementations? create a central clearinghouse for information about legal issues surrounding Bitcoin across the world?)
Other not-for-profit organizations that could be emulated: - The Anti-Phishing Working Group (the APWG's chairman, David Jevans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Jevans, is willing to help make a Bitcoin Foundation happen).
- The Tor Project
- The Apache Software Foundation
Are there others that work well, or are there examples of what NOT to do? Assuming there is rough consensus that a Bitcoin Foundation is a good idea, I would like to get something imperfect up and running quickly, with the expectation that it will evolve over time. .................................................. Gavin - seems like a reasonable idea.
Bitcoin would still have all the advantages of being decentralized (no central server, no office to raid and shut down. etc), but gets the added advantages of a core organization to guide it. Perhaps the core organization will get destroyed by the evil powers, but I'm not sure that'd be incredibly damaging to Bitcoin as a protocol. The community would just grow a new command center when the old was destroyed.
The main danger is if the community trusts such an organization too much. For example- if everyone assumed the client version put out by the organization was trustworthy, then there is serious danger. A group as you propose should probably exist, but the community should remain skeptical of it, and always constructively critical. |
