1461  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-15] Gavin Andresen Suspects Ponzis in Bitcoin Cloud Mining on: August 15, 2014, 08:46:17 PM
Hmm, though this may be true it's dissapointing to see Gavin associating bitcoin with the word ponzi. That's something we really need to get away from.
Gotta call a spade a spade. Many of these guys just keep selling shares for hashing and may or may not upgrade their hashing. I've heard how the PR goes for these outfits in that they gear it towards the newer people entering the ecosystem that are pretty green in terms of the broad understanding of what's going on. It all sounds easy because you just send a wallet address along w/ your fiat payment to the company and you start collecting dust daily or weekly instead of having to link up a checking account or making wire transfers to some exchange that they know nothing about. The payments obviously keep getting smaller over time but unless there's upgrades, the show is coming to an end. One of the main things here is that users don't really know how mining works and then w/o upgrades, the coffin is sealed.

yes! if anything, franchising will be the next thing. at least investors hold the actual mining in their hands. no incentive to flake out. I'm surprised more manufacturers aren't focusing on it.
1462  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-15] EBay Payments Unit in Talks to Accept Bitcoin on: August 15, 2014, 08:42:40 PM
same old story. paypal must become btc/fiat intermediary. another exchange. an escrow provider. it will be good for btc, but dont hold your breath.

that these guys even mention btc without flat out discrediting it is good news imo. there is going to be a good 10 years of adjustments happening in the world of online payments.
1463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anybody take the content of this section seriously? on: August 15, 2014, 06:40:53 PM
Nope. But it's good for a chuckle.

I bought btc between 20-100$ and I have already re-coupes my investment long ago. The btc I hold now are gravy, free essentially. The whole btc trip seems kinda unreal to me, to be honest. Whatever happens, I'm already richer for it, in more ways than one! Lol

I asked my buddy Ted Nugent what he thought about this thread and he shot my dog.
1465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi was murdered? New evidence coming in on: August 15, 2014, 06:24:22 PM
OP says they want to murder satoshi to "steal his power"

Satoshi gave up his "power" when he voluntarily stepped away from all involvement with bitcoin and went silent. Even as a pseudonym he is no more than a historical figurehead. There's no power to steal.

It would be more likely Brock pierce is the one who gets found dead under "mysterious" circumstances. Just looking at his smug face makes me rage.

1468  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: August 11, 2014, 06:08:20 AM
thats pretty bad. everything associated with this whole activemining debacle is fucked. i wonder how ken managed to survive to his ripe old age being such a shit-magnate? I guess its a case of the schlemele, and not the schlomozol. the schlemele is the idiot spilling the soup(Ken) the schlomozol is the idiot getting the soup spilled over his head (us)
1469  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 07, 2014, 05:34:52 AM
All I want is divs and a financial statement, but mostly divs. sadly, I have a feeling this wont happen until the very latest date, possibly missing august deadline and arriving some time later. expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised when anything greater happens. It beats sweating out an entire month in frantic anticipation.
1470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You ever wonder...? on: August 07, 2014, 05:27:01 AM
I feel it is my responsibility to ensure my wife can access all my wealth if/when I die. I have taken steps to enable her to do so. It makes me feel good while I am still alive. After I'm dead I wont care.

1471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNN Bitcoin Documentary Coming this Fall - Inside man - Morgan Spurlock! on: August 07, 2014, 05:18:58 AM
if he simply skipped the large sodas with his mcdonalds diet he would have been fine. mcdonalds aint health food, but what really did him in was the massive daily sugar intake.

if he can do an objective, even-handed, and accurate doc on BTC it could be great. If he decides to be sensationalistic (focusing on bubbles, scams, user-unfriendliness etc.) not so good. I expect him to fall to the sensationalistic side. Judging from his other docs, I expect a "rock n roll" "in-your-face" half comedy/half documentary, and a lot of preaching to the choir.
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS BITCOIN A CIA PROJECT? on: August 05, 2014, 10:48:23 PM
Gavin Andresen was invited to speak to the CIA in 2011. I doubt they would be asking him for infos if they had already invented and successfully initiated public adoption of BTC. It is obvious that BTC will be very useful for CIA operations, seeing as their jurisdiction is OUTSIDE the USA and funds often need to be moved across boarders covertly.

The problem with just about every single conspiracy theory out there is this; If it is such top-secret high-level operations that are supposed to take place without public knowledge, how come the most whacked out, idiotic, poor, dumb hillbillies are the ones that always uncover the "real story"? You would think that the weakest link in the chain would be the very last to figure out this shit. I guess there is some sort of info leak that flows directly through every trailer park and welfare office in America. Chemtrails are bullshit too (its called jet fuel exhaust). Sorry, Sol Adoni, but your paranoid babbling is unreadable claptrap.

Oh, STFU. REALLY?? REALLY?!?!?
go back to /r/conspiratard circle jerk! If you think there are no conspiracies then you have gone FULL retard!

I love this btw

OMG! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
you sir have to be the most gullible person ever!! How many Nigerian scams have you fallen for so far?

1474  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the next bubble start? on: August 03, 2014, 08:01:24 PM
judging by the results of this poll at time of this posting, I would see that most of the users here want the rally to begin now, or at least very soon.
Polls like this just show how immature and unrealistic much of this community is. I cant see any sort of bubble happening ever again really, only a slow rise with greater adoption. right now we are seeing apathy and thus a slow decline. things like the ETF will only serve to prop it up a little. Market is small enough to manipulate too, don't forget. That could spell real trouble for btc valuation.
1475  Economy / Speculation / Re: My theory is proving true once again on: August 03, 2014, 07:53:14 PM
so getting retailers to accept btc is not the complete goal then. We need the infrastructure surrounding retail to accept btc. this will be a greater challenge for sure, but getting the tax man, utilities, the supply chain etc. to accept would be a good way to keep the btc flowing and negate most of the need to cash it out. Maybe over simplified view here, but pretty much right after I heard about btc, and saw the crazy volatility, I decided that the best case scenario would be to get btc, hodl, wait until I could use it as easily and universally as fiat, at which time it would have an exponentially greater purchasing power. The btc to fiat conversion model would become obsolete if adoption was absolute. Could be some time till we see that though.

ok ok, there is one conspiracy I'll give you. The Illuminati (Zionist lizard-hominids from outer space) created YOU as a their tool to go around spreading nonsense and making the very idea of conspiracy theory look outlandish, thus discrediting anything that does not feed the agenda of our overlords. You are a "Pink Partisan" sir, as well as a donkey.

P.S. David Icke called and he wants his racist bias back.

Why are people replying to ice? He's always been an immature forum troll up to no good, I'm sure all he wants is attention, and you guys sure are giving it to him.

He lost a large amount of his own money on icedrill,  this is his way of venting.

I enjoy going in the icedrill threads to see how different his tone is in there. sort of how he enjoys coming in here to stir up shit, except I dont bother posting anything. Pointless to rub salt in the burned shareholders' wounds, their monetary losses are bad enough, I take no pleasure in teasing them.

Always bet on Ice!

I agree with dmcdad, however, the mention of MtGox, Bitfunder and Labcoin (clearly seen on shot of slide) is EXTREMELY worrying to me. What the hell is FC talking about here? I don't like hearing any mention of any of those 3 scam/fails ever, let alone in the context of a company I am backing. Can anyone provide a coherent translation, or even a live feed in chinese that I can run through google translate? (I cant seem to join weibo...copypaste anyone???) I would really like to know the context that labcoin/mtgox/bitfunder were brought up in, I would imagine the rest  of you should as well.

exclsuive: FC release 2013 expenditure reports of shareholder dividends

slide 2 revealed their Cold storage strategies on gox and bitfunder

I would like to see a concise description with the bottom photo. cold storage on gox and bitfunder? wtf does that mean? also....Labcoin?Huh? dafuq! Are you telling me AM has been stung by 3 of the worst scam/fails in BTC? Why are we hearing about this only now? Or, does Labcoin appear here only as an example of what NOT to do??? Explanation sorely needed, and fast! As soon as I hear any mention of Labcoin, Gox, or Bitfunder my blood literally boils.

EDIT- weibo will not let me set up an account... can someone provide copypastes of the content from there?
