Maybe Tapales will have a few fights before he fight with Fulton or Inoue to become an undisputed champion. There's possible a rematch against Murodjon Akhmadaliev to see if Tapales really beat him.

Did Tapales agree to the rematch? I know it's an upset, but let's give credit to Tapales. If he gives a chance for a rematch, that's even better. He is the defending champion, so Akhmadaliev will have to double his effort and convince the judges that he can dominate the champion.

For me, I would prefer to see him fight a challenger first before a unification fight. That way, he can be tested to see if he is really ready to fight the other champions. If he does end up facing Inoue in a unification battle, I will play smart and remain unbiased.

Or if there is a rematch clause to begin with?

However, I wouldn't discount the fact that yes, Akhmadaliev can request for a rematch, and the camp of Marlon can give or not give him that. Based on the scores, both judges have the same, except for the one. So there are no controversies there in my opinion. But if Marlon knows that he truly beat Akhmadaliev then maybe he will think about it and gave the consent for rematch. Of course, the money will be on the side of Tapales now since he is now the champion. But let's see.

To end this speculation, here's a news regarding their possible rematch: NO REMATCH CLAUSE FOR MURODJON AKHMADALIEV VS MARLON TAPALES

In the stated article, Akhmadaliev's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said in an interview that there was no rematch clause written on the contract but they will try to make a rematch happen and if Tapales's camp won't agree, they will try to ask the WBA to enforce a mandatory fight to get that fight. As we all know, Eddie Hearn wasn't convinced that Marlon Tapales won that match that's why they will try to negotiate for a rematch.

Ok, thanks for that info, so yeah, no rematch clause then Akhmadaliev would have to work double hard to become the mandatory challenger for the belt. However, we all know that Tapales wanted to fight the winner of Fulton and Inoue for the unification fight. Although his chances are slim, it might be the right decision for him in the future.

But with the power and influence of Eddie Hearn, I wouldn't be surprised if the governing body will give in to his request to have a immediate rematch with Marlon Tapales. But for sure Marlon will want that fight as well as he wants to proved that his win is no fluke.

I think that the governing body will just let him off the hook for the meantime and give Marlon Tapales a couple of months before giving him a mandatory defense fight as he just won the fight. It might be too unfair if they will give Tapales an immediate defense fight because he's not yet due for the next 6 months, so that leaves him some time to pick his own opponents instead of fighting a mandatory challenger that the governing body will give.
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 15, 2023, 10:40:21 AM
Do you guys agree with the fine that was applied to Mavs for resting their players ?  even if they wouldn't make the play in tournament...so I think they had all the rights to safe the rest of the season for some players and get them to rest earlier. I do hope Irving was not allowed to have any rest what so ever because he is the main reason of why Mavs missed play offs.

The fine was $750,000 towards Mavs org.

Oh my! So they were indeed found guilty by NBA officials. I guess the spirit of competitiveness applies to any team that has the chance to enter the play-ins to give it all and not rest its main players. Unlike those at the top wherein they already secured clear slots for the playoffs.

I am a fan of the Dallas Mavericks too but maybe the NBA is right because they gave up when there was still a chance. I guess the decision is more on Luka and is supported by the team overall. They would not risk possible injuries and maybe they already saw enough that queen Kyrie is not fit for their team.

I hope they will let go of queen Kyrie next season. For his $30+ million a season, that is enough to get seasoned players that can play roles to Luka. How about Markannen or Clarkson if the Jazz is still reluctant to provide quality players to their two stars?

Dang! I didn't thought that the NBA were that serious about the Mavs resting their players even if they still got a chance to earn themselves a spot in the Play-in, what I expected was that the NBA will just look into the issue without any seriousness and will just let it cools down until everyone will move on as people will forget about it as the playoffs is already approaching.

And for Kyrie Irving, there are some speculations that the Mavs are still looking forward to have him in their roster and said that he will sign him in the free agency because they believed that they can still have a different outcome in the next season. Well, as of now, that's just a rumor and we will likely know what will happen in the off-season.
1463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can owning 1 Bitcoin make you rich in 2023? on: April 15, 2023, 09:18:04 AM
No matter what country you live in, in the current context, you cannot write your name on the list of riches with one BTC.  Now the price of one Bitcoin is around $31$. Let's assume that by the end of this year, one BTC will be worth $60K. If you convert this $60K to the local currency of your country, your life will not be single with the amount of money. But I think you should never think that you will become rich with one BTC.

We have third world countries individuals on the forum and that $60k is worth millions in their country. After they convert the Bitcoin to their local currencies, they don't have to spend all the Bitcoin. They can reinvest in other things that can make them rich.

Or they can continue holding the Bitcoin until it increases higher in price, Bitcoin is predicted to reach $100k in the next bull market and with $100k in some of this countries is a very big money that they can be called millionaires.

But I don't think we can achieve this in 2023, it'll take more than the end of year for Bitcoin to increase to a good amount to give us good profits, we have to wait for the bull market to come before we can estimate how high Bitcoin can go.

Yes, it's already millions to them and you should be rich enough before you can able to buy a whole 1 bitcoin but since a lot of us here doesn't have that much privilege in life, what we can only do is to buy it by fraction with the hopes that we can buy as much as we could while the market is still red. And maybe that bull run will happen after the bitcoin halving which is somewhere mid 2024 to early 2025 because as of now, there are no signs at all that the raging bull is coming.

Anyway, back to the OP's question, 1 bitcoin is not that enough to make you rich or sustain that status as you need more than that. No need to rush OP, just hold it until you can because somewhere in the future, a whole 1 bitcoin will be worth 6 digits in US dollar.
1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 14, 2023, 08:19:28 PM
.....and we still do not know how Inoue will do on his current division as he is yet to fight Fulton.

We will see, but the hype is very high for Inoue dominating the current division. Hopefully, we will not be disappointed in his coming performance. A dominant boxer would always bring joy to the fans, especially if that boxer is not afraid of taking on challengers, just like what Manny did. Maybe we will see someone like him in the future, or maybe it will be Inoue.

Let's see about that. But I believe Inoue can bring his prowess at super-bantam because if we look at it closely, the weight difference is not that much and most probably, 122 is Inoue's natural weight class because at 118 he needed to trim some of his weights just to suit the weight class but there's no problem about it. And so, in this division, I'm pretty much confident that Inoue can dominate 122. It's been quite a while since an Asian boxer dominated several weight classes.

Right but enough for Inoue vs Fulton because this thread is dedicated to discuss the upcoming fight of Nonito Donaire against Alejandro Santiago for the vacant WBC belt.
Regarding the said fight, I'm optimistic that they can announce a timeline before this month ends and that both camps are already having their conversation to materialize the fight because I clearly don't believe that Santiago will also back out because this is the best chance that he can receive a fight like this considering that he is a few more ranks away from the eligible boxers.
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are lotteries really a good way to engage with gamblers? on: April 14, 2023, 07:50:16 PM
I'm ok with lottery inclusion if I am qualified based on my usual deposit and wager, lotteries have been a way to attract new gamblers to increase their deposit and wager more if you will offer attractive prizes that's good, not all gamblers are attracted to lotteries but there's still a big number of players who are attracted and will participate on lotteries that their casinos are offering.
I think lottery is quite interesting and we don't have to lose anything if the requirement to eligible receive the ticket is after gamble for wager for each $500 as an example, some casino usually sell the ticket for $1/ticket, this is make me not interested.

My suggestion is when you want to announce the winner, it's better if you have a livestream during pick the winner. So anyone will know if the winner is picked randomly and not scripted due to lack of transparency.
People are more likely to be attracted to buying lottery tickets if they can be cheap and they will buy in large quantities. That usually happens in casinos or other places that provide lottery tickets. People want to get prizes from the lottery, so they buy many tickets. After all, they don't use a lot of money to buy a lot of tickets.

Using live streaming when selecting winners will make many lottery gamblers not want to miss watching it. They will be enthusiastic about watching the show and hoping they can win.

I agree, their sales will surely boost as it will attract a lot of customers if they will start using livestream when picking their winners and so that the customers will believe that there's indeed no glitch or cheat happening behind the scenes as in that scenario, it will be all transparent just like what the people wanted and lastly, there would be no questions at all because everyone is seeing what's happening. It's a win-win on both side because issues won't be surfacing.
1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: April 14, 2023, 06:55:28 PM
You need to find a culture that accepts football as it is to make it happen and make it work. I have to say pick the world cup hosts from the top 20 ranked teams in the world, and I bet that you are going to be doing fine. Look at the top 20 leagues of the world and you will see where the world cup should be held, it will definitely be better that way.

In fact, the world cup is not just what sometimes you watch on TV at home you are watching the World cup games from home you will not understand how much money is spent on the world cup when they could spend the money on a good cause and how many workers died there, that what we saw in Qatar world cup and I think letting a country like Qatar host the world cup was not a good decision while in next world cup, we are going to see the difference.

I don't know what's the reason behind why Qatar wanted to host World Cup because it's probably not the money they are after because they are already petrol nation which economic doesn't need some more boost as with or without World Cup, their nation is already rich enough. And I doubt if they after the tourist because from my perspective, they aren't much of a tourist friendly nation.
Human rights violation is the major thing that had raised questions against Qatar, but nothing is taken seriously. The country hide everything and for that reason Qatar should be given atleast some penalty. The country doesn't have much history of football, however it received the hosting rights through bribe. Now once again it had requested for the hosting rights of U-19 World Cup.

Which is not that surprising anymore, really. Even if a lot of people are questioning what happened in the recent World Cup, nobody on the victim's side would dare to stand up and testify what happened because they already knew what will be the outcome as they will be facing someone who is influential enough to dismiss the case right away. Moreover, I believe that the victims were already paid for their silence and in time, all this mess that was created will be forgotten as it cools down.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 14, 2023, 06:30:29 PM

Thanks, yeah, I'm thinking that +5.5 will be a good bet as the Bulls should carry their momentum against the Heat.

And we all know that the Heat is somewhat in bad shape mentally, and when teams have this kind of problems, their games suffered just like what happen in their last game. The line hasn't move that much, +5.5 is still 1.90 in my favorite sports bookies. They have at least 1 day rest so perhaps the energy will be there will team with they travel to South Beach.

Seems like everyone is betting on the Bulls, but I hope it's not a bad decision and that the Heat don't dominate tomorrow's game. Personally, I still trust the Bulls as they have proven they can win on the road, so let's be confident they'll have another win.

As for the total, is it too low? It's currently only 208.5. With good 3-point shooting, I think that can be achieved.

Can't blame them because the Chicago Bulls are indeed a safer bet instead of the Miami Heat because they aren't that reliable anymore and given that they are on the 8th seed means that they aren't that kind of team anymore who used to dominate the East and probably most of the teams in the league. Jimmy Butler isn't the usual Jimmy and that's evident enough to see because he's really struggling to carry the team and the rest of the squad is not that lethal anymore.
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: April 14, 2023, 04:08:05 PM
That's normal. We choose our fighter as it will make the fight exciting to watch. Although both are great boxers and champions, we choose which side we think will win, especially if we are betting at the same time. It's not going to be easy for either fighter, but at least we will finally see them fight, which will prove the doubters wrong that one of them is evading this fight.
Too quick to say if we will see them fight, it's not from an official site this fight will happen at June 17, one or both them are still evading this fight. It will be disappointing if this fight will never happen, they're just want to stay in their comfort zone after they've collected and defended their belt.

There's always a boxer should able to beat them, if they want to move to the next weight, it's not prevent them to risk their record except they want to stay without any title.

That is why it is much better to keep some safe distance rather than biting these speculations especially if the names Crawford and Spence are linked to it, and as long as either one of them isn't confirming these rumor that they are indeed discussing the terms of the fight. It's more like these two seems like water and oil, they just can't be mixed.

They should vacate their belts if they aren't making fights as there are more deserving to have that belt and probably will give the fans the fight they wanted.
1469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 14, 2023, 03:35:28 PM
This is the last day without NBA basketball for a while. Tomorrow night we’ll find out the final playoff standings with the results of the play-in tournament. Then it’s everyday NBA playoffs for a while. Best time of the year. This weekend we should have an idea of how the first round is going to go and see which teams are able to take it up a notch.
It's a good time to rest and refresh our minds especially those who will be making their bets. We got to really analyze the game and leave emotions behind. Although I know it cannot be avoided.  Grin

Kings coach Mike Brown voted NBCA's Coach of the Year
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/36179274/sources-kings-coach-mike-brown-voted-nbca-coach-year
Mike Brown! Yeah! He deserves it.
It's good that you've mentioned it mate, I almost forgot about that specific award.

Well, what can I say, the Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown totally deserve to have that award and I won't be surprised if most of the coaches will vote for him because it's been quite a while since the Sacramento Kings participated in the playoffs and take note, not just barely participated, the team clinched a playoff spot on the #3 Western seed.
I actually looked it on the internet to see how long and it says that their last participation was last 2006, so it's been 16 long dry season for the franchise.

Also, Eddie Hearn tried to make an appeal that the score was wrong and his cow, Murodjon, should have won that fight and retain his belts.

Better luck next time, Hearn! Grin It's already obvious that your cow(s) really got some help in almost every fight you made.
Well, I am just glad that he is also a sport at this tweet by DAZN.
https://twitter.com/DAZNBoxing/status/1644904680072331264?s=20
Massive win for the Philippines indeed.

But have you guys imagined if it's Inoue who faced Murodjon? I mean, their camp must've thought Murodjon could easily defeat Tapales and yet it became upset. If it's Inoue right there we may have witnessed how far Inoue's power is even in a higher weight class.
I am excited to see Tapales agreeing on the challenge to unify the belts if Inoue wins against Stephen Fulton. It's either another record-breaker for Japan or it will be for the Philippines.
Was there a contract that Murodjon will get a rematch after this? I mean, that's two belts stripped from him and I doubt he will stay silent about that.

I mean, judging by what happened, Inoue could have been the new 2-belt champion at 122 now if he was the one who fought Murodjon and not Tapales. But I believe things happened for a reason, Tapales surely deserved that win but Inoue's fate is with Fulton and that's a good acid test for Inoue and for us to know if he did bring his power at 122 or even stronger compared to what he did at 118.

Quote

No rematch clause but Murodjon's camp will try to ask for a rematch since they believed the fight was too tight and maybe this time around, they could twist the outcome. Now the question is, will Tapales camp agree to it or are they interested, we will find out in the next few weeks.
1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: April 13, 2023, 02:06:32 PM
~snip~
Based on the situation in North American countries I can say we are going to see a much better world cup than we saw in Qatar because they have enough stadiums to host the games and unlike Qatar, they don't take it hard for the visitors in their country about drinking alcohol which can be a good reason to say people who go America for watching world cup games will have better times there comparing to Qatar.

These are three football playing countries. US and Mexico have even hosted the world cup before. So, there's clearly not going to be any controversies because it's all going to be as expected.

There might be some issues with visas though, specially for the US matches. We'll have to wait and see.

I think that's already expected because large flocks of people from different parts of the world will indeed be going towards North America to watch the World Cup games and it's also expected that these countries will heighten their gates to avoid people who are taking advantage of the event and will only let people who are only approved to enter these stated countries that will hold the games. And for the approved people, there's nothing to worry about because the upcoming world cup will be much looser from restrictions like foods and liquors, what they have to do is just enjoy the whole event because North America houses free countries.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 13, 2023, 01:36:51 PM
LeBron has already aged, and he is not the same player he was during his championship years. Although he still has a decent game, he is getting older. In the last game, the Lakers were a bit lucky, and as we witnessed, LeBron made a lot of mistakes. If they play against a better team, they will not be able to win with that performance.

Of course, LeBron isn't as fast as he was in his prime. However, I disagree that he made a lot of mistakes in the last game. Just look at LeBron's stats, he scored 30 points with a good field goal percentage, grabbed 10 rebounds, and made 6 assists. I think it was a good performance by LeBron, and it's obvious he was the reason the Lakers were able to beat the Wolves.
Sure, he also had a few mistakes (5 turnovers) in that game, but that doesn't matter.

This makes me curious, why is that LeBron's mistake doesn't matter? The Wolves almost took the game from them, and they could've been playing against the Thunder tomorrow. Of course, mistakes matter because those turnovers are the most reasons why a team failed after having a good run and if you see the stats, the Wolves didn't waste those turnovers and converted it into points on their favor.
1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the altcoin holders hang on until the bull run comes ? on: April 13, 2023, 11:13:15 AM
Sometimes, you make mistakes in investing, but that's part of your journey, as no investor always makes the right decision. You bought Doge at 0.09 USD per coin, while the price now is 0.08 USD. You call it a loss, but not if you don't sell it. Yes, Doge was so hyped during the last bull run, but if Doge stays and pumps a bit, I believe you are holding a good price, and you can still sell it at a profit.

Doge isn't a shitcoin anymore; it has already captured the attention of investors. So, just wait for the right moment to sell. Don't panic and don't let your emotions control your decision-making. Instead, use your mind.
1474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin. on: April 13, 2023, 08:54:03 AM

Is there any way to solve this problem?

It's not actually a problem for those who don't see Bitcoin as a must to hold, invest in, or use. Bitcoin may be massively adopted in the future, but that doesn't mean it will replace fiat or traditional investments. We can't deny the fact that Bitcoin and crypto, in general, are high-risk investments.

I think people who plan to invest in crypto need to understand the risks first, as well as the potential profits. Investing in crypto does not guarantee a profit. Although crypto has been around for a while and has brought fortune to some, it doesn't mean it will happen to all of us.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: April 13, 2023, 08:24:34 AM
Choose your game wisely. Slots can be entertaining, but it's important to understand that in the long run, you'll never consistently win at this game. It's better to gamble for fun alone, so you can limit your losses. I also play this game, but I don't typically bet big compared to other forms of gambling, such as sports betting and poker.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 12, 2023, 12:38:46 PM
Early on but wolves +8.5 is easy money right now.  Up 40-31, this Lakers team wouldn't be able to hang with Memphis.  Last year's wolves and Memphis series could use a round 2.  Would be a good matchup.  Lakers are in trouble this game, they just don't have the guard play to make it work.
It's still too early, hehe. I have the Lakers at -7.5, and while they might struggle in the first half, I expect them to have a strong comeback in the second half. Regardless, this game is fun to watch, and I'm not worried about whether they'll cover the spread or not because I'm sure they'll play harder since it's a must-win game for them.

It's a must win game for the Timberwolves too Smiley

Sorry, I realize I may have been biased in my previous message. I was happy when the game went to OT because it gave me a little hope that my team would cover the spread. When the Lakers were up by 5 points in OT, I was positive they would continue their run, but they fell short. I accept the result - it's normal to lose and I was just on the wrong side. However, I will bet on this team again in the playoffs when they are likely to be underdogs.

Welcome to the forum!

We need more peer-to-peer (p2p) exchanges so that we can enjoy trading without KYC. I'm not quite familiar with the service, but I'll do some research and give it a try. The p2p exchange that I'm using now is Binance p2p, but I had to undergo a KYC for my account, so this one would be good to retain our privacy.

Qatar managed to host the best FIFA World Cup in history. I hope more or less all football fans are satisfied with Qatar in this World Cup. Qatar's stadiums were beautiful to behold. But FIFA brings new surprises every time, hope next world cup we will see some great surprises.
Qatar's success in hosting the 2022 World Cup is inseparable from Qatar's very good finances

the 3 countries that will host the 2026 World Cup must be able to provide something that balances what Qatar provides, such as good stadiums and security for fans from other countries who come to watch because these two things are the benchmark for the success of hosting the world cup

apart from that the political conditions in the host country must also be fine, so that there are no worries from the fans, for example in Indonesia, only because some politicians hate Israel, Indonesia failed to host the U-20 world cup
the best thing they did it - gave so much protection to the women and banned alcohol
Alcohol is the root cause of all the evil and banning it is saving the community from so many ills
so you mean, qatar won't be successful in carrying out the world cup if they free alcohol drinks there, if so then I'm worried that if in the world cup 2026 later, the three countries will not be successful in carrying out the world cup because we know that alcohol in the three countries is quite freely traded buy especially for fans who are already adults

the effects of alcohol will be very severe, especially if ultras fans come, then clashes between fans will not be avoided. Therefore, the three countries that will be homeless for the 2026 World Cup need to think of a precise strategy so that fans, players from each country and local residents can enjoy the event in peace

And why are the homeless involved in this discussion?  You mean if there the likes of them, a certain event can't be peaceful and they will be a threat? Hold your horses mate, there's certainly no need for that kind of comment because being homeless doesn't mean that they will be dangerous nor a killer of somebody else's joy.

With or without any alcohol beverages, everything can still happen as it's somehow normal that some fans will be clashing with each other as they are supporting a different team. That's why event bouncers are placed everywhere.

Even if I have bought some bitcoin a few days after the launch day, there is a 99% chances that I would have sold the Bitcoin, the enemies of holding Bitcoin for a newbie is

1. Market manipulators
2. My own psychology

Market manipulators must have made me want to wet my pants, in the past years there are many FUD about Bitcoin, calling it another bubble, this could have made me give up.

We all have our demons too, I could have listened to them, saying, sell, sell, sell, you dummy, this thing is going to die and you will lose all your capital.

I believe it's a good thing to have grown with Bitcoin all this past years and have grown the confidence to hold through any weather, Bitcoin have proven itself to be the best solution to decentralization.

Now I don't hear my demons trying to confuse me to sell, I was there once, I knew how it felt to believe in something you don't have trust in, today I've made up my mind, to always be with Bitcoin.

You are not too late, you just find the reason to keep supporting Bitcoin, to keep holding your Bitcoin bag. My confidence in Bitcoin is now 100%.

It's not just you, but anyone who bought Bitcoin back in the early days either sold it or lost access to their wallets. Market manipulators are always trying to mess with Bitcoin, and they will probably keep doing it in the future to make people panic and sell.

It's awesome that you're still holding onto this valuable digital asset, even today. It shows that your trust in Bitcoin is stronger than the fake news that those manipulators spread around.

In-fact, there are only few people who managed to hold their bitcoins from the first time they bought it way back when bitcoin was still really unknown. There is indeed a huge chance that even if you managed to held it into a few ATH, you will eventually sell it, just like lots of those holders who have sold theirs way back December of 2017.
Hence, why it's important if we stick into our timeline and hold it as long as we can even if the market is almost forcing us to sold what we have. I mean, that's quite normal and what's not normal is if we let them decide our fate.
