481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading advice for newbies on: December 07, 2023, 09:57:31 PM
Trading is not advisable for newbies, I'd rather recommend long term hodling than jumping trading wherein newbies have no learning experience from trading in the market. And when you are making significant profits from hodling, that's the time that you can proceed to trading but provided that your knowledge and skills for trading have already been enhanced and developed.

Newbies who resort into trading often lose a lot. That's because the greed is high for newbies, and they can't manage their emotions yet most especially that trading needs to get rid of that emotions to end up with successful trades.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 07, 2023, 09:14:52 PM
I'm 19 years old, living in Korea, and I'm thinking of selling a computer to raise money to invest in bitcoin. I think I can sell it for about $600. I get about $100 a month as an allowance from my father. $100 is only for personal use, not for living expenses. I've been using these $100s to buy bitcoin for a few months now. It's ridiculously small money, but I believe it could be quite a lot of money if I keep saving it steadily. Is selling a computer the right decision?
If that computer is not beneficial to you anymore, then selling would be the best option. At least, you won't be keeping things anymore that are not useful to you. My only advice is that always invest on the amount you can afford to lose. Bitcoin is a highly profitable asset but it still a high risk asset, so always invest with caution.

Buying small amount of bitcoin is better than not buying at all. When you see your whole bitcoin portfolio in the future, you will then know that you have stored a lot which gives you bigger opportunities to change your life status.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury and spending lifestyle fastest way to poverty rich kids on: December 06, 2023, 09:59:18 PM
This is not surprising anymore to see rich kids now living in streets or becoming homeless. The world is now full of vices and even addiction that they can develop through early gambling or early exposure to the different crimes happening around. Although the world is not to be blamed, but I believe the surroundings that they have lived most of their life have greatly affected to where they are right now. And without parent's guidance and assistance, these kids will easily fall on the different vices and issues in life.

I can see the reason behind all of this is that their attitudes and actions are not molded in the early years. If only their problems and life's issues were attended and addressed earlier, then they will not resort into living the life they have right now. Although there are wide arrays of choices available, but unfortunately they chose the wrong choice and have no options left but to live from their own choice.

Speaking of betting, seems my bet on Converge is on the risk of losing as NorthPort's lead now balloons to 10 points with 9 minutes to go in the game, hope they can spark a run and win this one.

Yes, and it seems like Converge are enjoying their losing streak.

Those who bet on Converge hoping they'll win still has a chance to win back the losses or at least end the night with a win. As for the coming game, I have the Blackwater +11.5, the odds is 2.09, I took an extra 9%.. also hoping that Magnolia will slow down a bit, and give this game to Blackwater, or least let them cover.

I'm going nuts as well Blackwater ML at 6.30. Let's try our luck here.

The first three quarters do look good; Blackwater is still competing as they are only down by 5 points going into the 4th quarter. However, once they are in the 4th quarter, the offense of Blackwater disappeared as they were bothered by the pressure defense of Magnolia. This resulted in a lopsided win by Magnolia, outscoring Blackwater 19-35 in the 4th quarter alone.

Sorry, mate, you lost both the ML and the handicap.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: December 06, 2023, 04:22:21 AM
Right mate this idea is completely wrong there are many gamblers who cannot gamble regularly due to lack of money and then they will be less inclined to gamble. In that case doing something like lending will make the person worse off. Who will guarantee it or who will get the loan back? Gambling depends on luck and never able to get money back if you lose. As the debt burden continues to increase as time goes by it is better to find a way to manage it rather than creating conflict between the two. Here the casualties will be less and there will be nothing of quarrels and disputes.
I don't understand why a person will lend a known gambler without providing a source of income?

Those lenders must be crazy if in fact that they're going to lend people money without the valid proof that they can pay it and if they're going to tell that they'll use it for gambling. That's a wrong thing to do.

But you're right, that if a lender provides loan money to that gambler. It is not guaranteed that he'd win with that money and will just make the situation worse.

Usually these two things are being look upon by a lender before money is disburse.

1- source of income (to determine the capacity to pay)
2- Collateral ( in case borrower will mess up)

So there's still a level of security favorable to the lender, they are in the business like this, so we can expect that they know what they are doing. Further, there are other lenders who offers huge interest, and your life is your collateral because if you fail to pay as promise, you know what to expect.
486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 06, 2023, 03:41:02 AM
Maybe I'll tail you on the Phoenix Suns moneyline here, the Lakers have started the first quarter has the better side halfway in, so I'm looking for a better value or atleast a positive advantage +handicap advantage for even Odds.

Lakers up, Suns currently +5.5 and 2.65 on the moneyline, this should be the value to look for.

I'd take the moneyline if I haven't pulled the trigger yet, just that I love to bet on pregame odds as I don't want to take the pressure, but like I said, I find the current odds such a good value as it's still too early in the game, anything can happen, just like the Kings vs Pelicans.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bad news always brings some good news! on: December 06, 2023, 02:56:33 AM
CZ's case was more like a FUD and as we can see the market isn't affected. I think people get used to it already, besides, if Binance will fall, other exchange will certainly benefit, so overall there's not much effect to the market.

It's just time for a bullish market, we have waited for years before it happen, so what's due is due.

Just enjoy the bullish mode!
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 05, 2023, 11:55:52 AM
Now that you share this? yeah i may consider doing this but first I will review my daily income to make a deal with my wife  Grin Cheesy

but 1-2% is just a small amount to spend and risk(also to take chance being lucky) now that I may spend that small amount then i can play the maximum winning I may try .

You're a very loving husband. Personally, I don't tell my wife that I gamble. It's not that I don't want her to worry; rather, I view gambling as a form of personal satisfaction, much like her shopping with her friends. I don't mind whatever business she's doing, and I'd like my pursuits to be treated in a similar manner.
I think there is nothing to Hide when you are both a supporting partners ?
I don't hide anything, I just prefer not to tell here.

Not everytime you are doing something and you don't tell you wife is consider hiding, that's not it, we also have our privacy and I value my privacy that way.

Me  and My wife go along since we are young , we even had our first Drinking together so why need to hide everything ?
shes the one who gives permission to how much I can spend in this and that as she was also the one who managing the budgeting specially when we are starting that really the life is really tough .
thanks to her for whatever we does.

Maybe we have a different principle in life but I like to tell you also that I have a happy married life, not perfect but happy.

Also, about you statement "shes the one who gives permission to how much I can spend ".... That's not so me... I don't ask permission to my wife, I am the man, she should..  I tell here when I'm doing things (eg gambling) but it's not a permission, just a respect... (it's just an example).
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2023, 11:24:57 AM
I expect Ja to be very wary of his return. So I guess he should play even if his season debut is away from home. He should show that he doesn't mind traveling on his first game and doesn't act like an entitled star.
He was already suspended twice, next time he'll be out in the NBA, so that's goodbye to his million contract.
Let's hope he'll be fully recovered when he comes back, he has to be mentality prepared for the possible trials on his come back and that he could live a peaceful life, away from trouble as we've seen how big his impact to the team when he's not playing.

Quote
They do need even some short win-streaks if Memphis wants to enter the playoffs.

It's a tough one, I know Ja has some talent but getting back to be the same again after missing many games, it might require him to have more feel on the actual game before he could play his usual game. But still I'm hoping the best for him as he is entertaining to watch.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: December 04, 2023, 05:34:17 AM
At least as they are  going to benefit, the mandatories can wait. However, still depends on the timetable for Rolly as he is injured. Let's wait for him to heal first, for sure he would like to fight Ryan and both have big mouths too, so there will be good to promote this side. And we will see who will do good numbers, Romero vs Davis (reportedly 250,000 PPV buys), or Romero vs Garcia.

We will patiently wait for this fight, Garcia deserves to be in a championship fight again, and knowing Rolly, he has some talent and also good in selling fights, so it's expected to generate lots of PPV subs but for sure not going to surpass what Davis vs Garcia has earned in the past.

I don't know if the ranking here https://www.boxingscene.com/rankings... is already updated, but as of now, Ryan is ranked at number 4, so I like to ask, can he be a mandatory fighter to the champ if he's not on the number 1?

492  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: December 03, 2023, 08:53:22 PM
Trading gives advantage to rich people because they have the capability to trade consistently despite of the losses they will gained, that way they can improve their performance level and make them successful traders in the end. However, for poor traders, it would be hard for them to finance their trades especially if they are only earning minimum amount, but if they have the skills and long experience in the trading market, then they will have the edge to win their trades despite of a small capital.

Trading is open for rich and poor, but to be honest, there's always high advantage if you have the huge capital to finance your trades because that will also mean massive amount of profits as long as when you trade with skills and expertise.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a quick rich and get poorer investment. on: December 03, 2023, 05:16:17 PM
Bitcoin investment is an investment you start early and take time to grow, discipline, monitor with patient to enable your target of investment excel and you can only make this investment when you patiently elongate it to enable you flourish well to the extend that when you harvest your profit from the investment it will still be progressing and not when you invest in six months time and you are inquisitive to get your profit in eight months time its wrong and getting patient to achieve what you invest is a good helping hands for future and at least when you invest in six months time you get your profit in one or two years or more for your effort to be reasonable and bear in mind that Bitcoin is not altcoin that can be hype or where many altcoins are built based on the basic structure provided by Bitcoin, Bitcoin cannot not make you poor when you know what you are doing and is more valuable and can make you rich when you wisely trade in futures.
If someone is on this forum then he's already supposed to know that he won't become rich overnight thanks to bitcoin. People must understand that good investments require a lot of patience, there is no secret formula to become rich, just do your research, invest smartly, and wait. You need to wait, that's the problem, many people don't know or don't want to wait.
Everyone wants to become rich but not everyone has the right patience to make it happen, that's why majority still end up losing not because they lack the knowledge and skills to succeed but because they are very eager to make quick profits most especially for bitcoin that is known to be a get quick rich scheme. However, only novice traders and investors mostly fall for this as they lack significant experiences in the market.

Bitcoin is certainly not a get quick rich, but hey bitcoin could make you rich faster than other investments because of its known highest profit offers compared to fiat and other physical investments.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm looking for sites with good sports predictions on: December 03, 2023, 02:24:49 PM

This isn't a prediction site, it's just similar to livescore and flashscore where they provide timely details on the scores on different sports that are live.

I guess most of the websites OP is looking are already posted above, but as to the prediction site, honestly I don't find it attractive as it teaches bettors to be lazy and stupid. I mean, if we just follow a prediction from other people or a specific site in this matter, that would simply mean we don't trust our knowledge and skills in sprots betting, which actually what we need to succeed. So it doesn't make sense why we seek on that thing that doesn't help us in the long run.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 03, 2023, 01:26:00 PM
I was able to bet on this game, AFAIR, the handicap that I took was +10.5.

The game is already over but still on on the delayed live, hehe..

Unfortunately your bet didn't win as Ginebra had won the game by 11 points, that 0.5 was a killer bro, sorry but boune back next time.
Ginebra is just too much for the DYIP, they have offense everywhere and DYIP's import can even be guarded by C. Stand, so who would guard, Ginebra's import? That's why I'd say it's an easy win for the Gin King.

Actually I checked again after the game and I was wrong because my bet turns out it's +11.5, so I won !

^^^It's just a small amount of bet though, I use a local bookie link to my gcash account and it's easier to bet compared to using crypto for betting. It's not that I'm using it on a daily basis, I still use crypto sportsbooks since I'm earning bitcoin so it's easy to move also. Just having lots of alternatives makes our betting experience amazing.  Smiley

So with that, Ginebra Kings still fails to cover the spread hehe.

Let's just watch out on their next game if still the spread would be high then we will bet on their opponent with that high handicap.

Congrats mate and yeah that local bookies of ours is very convenient and easy to use just like the online sabong hehe.

The only problem I face with our local bookie is it doesn't have a huge market, like the bet builder feature on the popular casinos here in the forum.

I have explored this local bookie as well, I think this is the only one that has partnered gcash (licensed by PAGCOR) so we have no other options although this is the safest one. However, I'm not here to complain though, I'm just hoping that they'll be more competitive as the market is huge, so in order to retain and attract more gamblers, they need to show that they are like a one-stop-shop.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: December 03, 2023, 11:58:52 AM
Ryan gets the win by KO. There was nothing too remarkable about his performance but he was able to execute his game plan effectively. Duarte was at a disadvantage because of the 143 lb catchweight. His style was very basic and Ryan had no problems landing shots. After this tuneup it seems like Rolly Romero might be next for Ryan. Both fighters are at a similar level so it should be an intriguing matchup where we will see if either of them is ready to step up to the elite level once again.

Duarte could have gone up but he chose to get up when the count is over, there's a lot of boos going on because Ryan is running to much I think that's the improvement in Ryan's game, a good defensive stance to run too often and not very eager to engage, a deviation from what he did against Gervonta, not a great performance but a win is still a win I guess The Golden Boy will finally get him a title shot after this win.
I'm waiting for the press conference so we'll know where Garcia is heading now after this win, in his interview in the ring he wants Rolly so lets see if he will get Rolly.

I also don't understand why Duarte didn't get up on time, maybe his legs was not still there so he didn't bother to beat the referee's count.

Yeah, many people inside the arena seem to not like the new style of Ryan Garcia, for me he seems afraid on brawl type of fight, had he not connected that left hook, that booing would have continued until the 12th round.

Garcia did the job but for me that wasn't impressive, he was caught with that left hook of Duarte a couple of times, luckily it was not so lethal that he still stood despite all of that.

I think that wasn't really the style of Garcia, he was probably feeling some injury on the rib that he was protecting it to be the target of Duarte. The win wasn't impressive, he failed our expectations but at least he was able to win the fight via KO. I don't know what's next for him, i think he needs more tune up fights like this and see if he can bring his old self, the one that isn't afraid to fight toe to toe, and wins via KO.

Who won here with their prediction Garcia win by KO in the 8th round, or the range for founds 7-10?
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 03, 2023, 11:36:49 AM
[....]

How you can still lose after getting the full momentum and the lead is beyond my understanding but at least the fans had an exiting game to watch.
There was plenty of time for OKC to recover from that collapse then there's Chet's crucial block and second chance points which allowed them to regain their confidence. If Mavs took the lead with a minute or two remaining then they probably would have won that game.

If the vote for MVP was happening right now, I would say it belongs to Luka Doncic. He’s playing the best basketball in the league right now. Unfortunately his heroics tonight couldn’t secure them a win, but that’s somewhat to be expected with Kyrie Irving out with an illness and them having given up most of their team to get him.

He did everything to win but their comeback was wasted because they weren't able to close it well. a 30-0, biggest in the franchise history, that would be remembered forever and Luka could be remembered as one of the best players of Dallas as long as he stays with this team until retirement.

I thought Dallas would win, actually I'm a bit worried because I bet on the other side which I had -5.5 for OKC, luckily the last 2 FT went in, so I was also lucky though.
498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to have a stop loss if we are 100% positive about a trade? on: December 02, 2023, 09:35:59 PM
Setting a stop loss is best only when you are starting a trade or when you are doing leverage in trading. Since the future market is not guaranteed safe and profitable, then it's a wise decision to use stop-loss to prevent from losing too much. However, if you have high experiences as a trader, and you know already how to maximize your profits and control your losses, then you can trade successfully without the need of a stop-loss. Using stop-loss does not prevent you from losing, but it will only limit your losses not to fall into huge and massive losses.

While trading in the market still remains risky and uncertain, then using stop-loss could offer you help but if you become dependent on it, then chances are  that you can never maximize your trading profits as much as you want it.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 02, 2023, 08:25:43 PM
Well, yes... a lot of people bought into the hype of some of these shitcoins and they burn their fingers. Every Alt coin investor are hoping to experience the rag to riches story that some early investors in Bitcoin experienced, when they bought bitcoins for a few cents and then the price went up to $60 000+ .....but sadly that seldom happens with any of these shitcoins.  Tongue

The major problem are people's greed..... and their thinking that each of these shitcoins are a get rich quick opportunity.  Roll Eyes So, when these shitcoins fail up to their expectations, they blame the coin... and not their own stupidity and greed.  Tongue
Due to people's ignorance and greed, they prioritize altcoins over bitcoin because they think these altcoins have higher potentials to provide them quick and massive profits, without knowing that they will only end up with unexpected huge losses. And even if they do research over these too good to be altcoins, there are still high chances that they can't avoid from losing, so bitcoin should have been the best coin to invest instead of falling into altcoins.

However, no matter what people may say about their experience about altcoins, its not reasonable that they will put all the blame to altcoins. People should not tolerate their own wrong thinking, and they should fix their mindset first before they come to invest in crypto space, because even if they invest into bitcoin with their greed, they won't still be in profits in the end.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using AI for betting predictions on: December 02, 2023, 01:58:17 PM
I tried to use free services but every time they told me that they didn't carry out this type of activity...
Of course Just for sake of curiosity.
I am not sure actually there Is any reliable system that can outperform a gambling platform.
But I am pretty sure something like this could be created and in the past some "big" gamblers have been able to create such predictive model.

I don't believe there's anyone who has successfully created a tool that guarantees easy wins in gambling. When we discuss gambling prediction tools, I assume we're referring to skill-based games, as luck-based games inherently have a house edge that no tools can consistently outperform in the long run.

The reality is, if such tools existed, it would be relatively easy for gamblers to bankrupt a casino. Given the enormous financial stakes involved, it seems unlikely that such tools exist now or will be created in the future.

Even in sports betting, the most popular form of gambling where the outcome of games is involved, if someone were to create a tool that accurately predicts results, making significant money would be seemingly easy. However, despite the vast size of the sports betting industry, there's no evidence of gamblers consistently winning. Therefore, it's safe to presume that no such tool has been developed yet.
