841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is actually a Bitcoin investor on: September 07, 2023, 09:43:12 PM
The fact that you aim to buy and hold for future profits, that is certainly a proof that you’re a bitcoin investor. While others are buying for their own satisfaction that they can use it as a payment and promote bitcoin adoption, a lot of us here are certainly for investing purposes only.
842  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots... do they work? on: September 07, 2023, 08:23:26 PM
Looking to get some real-world feedback on trading bots, the pros, the cons and the most important question... do they work?

So please, only comment below if you're actively using trading bots and how successful they are.
Trading bots are actually working but if ask if they can be reliable and sustainable, I don’t think they are. They are just robots that uses a computer program which at some point work, and fail on the other hand. So it’s  actually not perfect when it comes to trading performance that’s why most of the professional traders still chose to trade using their own experience and skills in trading, at least they can lessen the risk somehow, and can expect bigger assurance of a successful trading.
843  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not for everyone! on: September 06, 2023, 09:37:21 PM
Trading is always overrated as one cannot simply get into trading and expect high profits afterwards. In fact, trading will definitely put us into more losses and failures if we rush into trading without knowing the prerequisites to trade. Therefore, if there are no knowledge and skills and there are no reliable experiences in trading, it’s better to never jump into trading because surely, it will only test our patience and persistence through consistent losing.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 06, 2023, 04:31:53 PM

One of the things that most excites me about this boxer is that he is when it comes to challenges, rematches, and above all when there is a belt or something similar, well, he assumes it and prepares himself with more intensity, perhaps the fact of being a A very disciplined person and that is what marks him out compared to others, I want to see this fight and see what kind of strategy Tapales will use, but where I went, my strategy was to be on the defensive, make him get tired and counterattack, because the truth is I can't think of any strategy against him, because he really is a boxer who can quickly read the other boxer's plan, and I think that is also the intelligence he uses, and that is quite difficult for some, For me, boxing is 80% intelligence and 20% effort with the body, however, what you train the most is your body to resist the blows that you are going to receive.

It is the advantage of Inoue. He anticipates his opponent's strategy and adjusts things at the right timing.

If he sees that he can absorb his opponent's attack, then expect him to be more aggressive. I used to remember the first fight against
Donaire where after being almost taken down.

When he manages to get up and compose his self, that the time he really become aggressive and really attacks the most, then
he earned that fight a win.
The first fight against Donaire, it was the last time that we have seen Inoue almost lost the fight. It was a hard fought give and take and he absorbs all what Donaire can bring to the point that he suffered a broken orbital bone and yet he pushes for the fight and win it.

But there are fans or even boxers who thought that Inoue lost that fight. If I'm not mistaken, Roy Jones Jr was one of them. I remember as well though, that Jone is a big fan of Donaire so he might be biased on that.

I think that is why a rematch has took place and that is to end all the issues once and for all, eventually, it was a 2-0 in favor of Inoue and Donaire haven't even had the chance to rally back and regain a momentum because he didn't anticipated the fact that he will face a much stronger and unpredictable Inoue who finished their fight in just like a whim. Although years have passed before their rematch but it's all the same to me, Donaire's good but his years are already over.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 06, 2023, 03:40:48 PM

That's how it is in gambling, we see victory getting closer but difficult to achieve, so without realizing it we run far to chase losses. And this is where it's important to continue playing calmly, don't get carried away by emotions. And I always hate playing alone because I can't be completely sure if I am able to control gambling activities, therefore I always ask other people to accompany me to play in the hope that someone will enlighten me when I lose control while playing gambling.

You simply don't believe in yourself that is why you would want to go with someone to the casino and share your bet with them to get approval of the bet you want to play. It is not bad to share your game from time to time but to always do that with the way you have said it, it means you are not a regular bettor. This is unlike those who like to keep their game secret from others, those gamblers believe they have the magic game and so won't like every other person to partake from the bet. Anyway, it is just the way we feel best and anything that is best for the winning is acceptable.

I'd say, anything that is best for our entertainment is acceptable, including sharing our bets or following others' bets. Because we cant know what is best for our winning. If we knew that, we would be millionaires, right? If you find it entertaining to keep your bets in secret, do it then. No one should judge you, it's your right. But if seriously, it won't help you to win more. Daniel Negreanu openly shares how he's playing, and it doesn't make him to win less.

And that will just mean that we're only in for the money and not the package that should comes with it if we play and bet on our own because if we're only gambling to follow other people's bets then where's the fun in that? That's not an entertainment to me anymore as it will just be a boring one as you have already put your fate in other people's hand without going through the struggle and fun in obtaining the data needed to provide a possible outcome.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your perception about crypto games? on: September 06, 2023, 03:14:38 PM
I do not understand what you mean that some games do and do not rely on bull run. What I know is that there are many gambling sites on this forum that may not make money in bear market time unlike the bullish time if both are compared. Bullrun or bear market does not affect any game. But if it affects any game, the gambling site will be the one that will know better, not the gamblers.

Right, that's not our problem anymore because whenever we deposit our money in the form of cryptocurrency and lost it during the process then that's already their business what to do with it regardless if we're in the middle of bull run or bear market. Online casinos have thought about these things clearly before they even started accepting cryptocurrency in their platform. And being a gambler, we should know how to differentiate these things because we are sure not gambling while seeing it as an investment.
847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 06, 2023, 09:27:10 AM
Exchanges require KYC in order to stop fraud like stealing other people's bitcoins and cashing them out, money laundering, scams, hacks, and so on. Most countries require an exchange to have specific KYC measures because they are legally allowed to operate there.

Although I will say that requiring KYC for very small transactions is a bit of a stretch, as it's not really possible to do much with it in the first place.
You’re right. Imposing mandatory KYC is done so that all users will be protected from all forms of fraud, thus maintaining their assets privacy throughout their transactions. However, those disreputable and shady exchanges are also taking advantage from KYC verification by easily stealing funds from their users, hence making some of their clients easily fall on their traps.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: September 05, 2023, 03:44:09 PM
I think that's one of the few reasons why both Canada and Mexico are only offered 10 games each, their resources alone are not enough to take point for the event's security because if they focus on that area, some areas would be at risk as well. We know that there will be some threats (it may be an empty threat or not) but it will be the security's responsibility to settle it without making the people panic so that the games will happen as smoothly as possible.

While for the games that will happen in US soil, it will be safe to assume that all games will happen as planned without any hurdles because they have enough resources and manpower to do the job while the people spectating the event are enjoying. Regarding that, it's expected that their securities will be heightened during the whole duration.

The 1986 FIFA World Cup was hosted by Mexico. There were a total of 24 participants, and the matches were held across 12 venues. In total, 52 matches were played. So it is clear that Mexico has the capability to host a large number of matches. Now the question is why so little matches have been allotted to Mexico and Canada this time. Answer is that they are co-hosts in name only. USA is the proper host and they have given a few matches to the other two countries, just because of their generosity. FIFA is also primarily interested in expanding the game within the US, and they are least bothered about the other two nations.
This is also an experiment for FIFA, for many years the top directives of FIFA thought that the world cup awarded to South Korea and Japan was a mistake and there were claims there will never be another world cup with multiple hosts, however they seem to have changed their mind due to the increase on the number of teams and matches, as this increase made way harder for a single country to have all the stadiums necessary to host the world cup, and while this would not have a problem for the US, they are using this world cup to see if this model can work and from now on multiple hosts could become the norm.

If they are against it, then they should've forbid these countries from submitting their bid together as one and will only allow one country as a host. But since nothing like that has happened and only claims were made that Japan and South Korea are the last ones to host World Cup together, then it's safe to assume that FIFA are now welcome about the fact because while they are changing the format and adding some games, that means they are looking for a host that got most resources and venue to host such big event. I'm sure that the arrangements were made already hence why Canada and Mexico will only have 10 games each because of the said reason.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: September 05, 2023, 02:48:06 PM
If there's a casino giving many excuses to not verify the gambler's KYC, it's mean the casino is sketchy and might likely scam. This is why we should gamble on a trusted and reputable in this forum, so when you have this problem, you can contact the representative in this forum, if they not respond or not make you satisfied, you can create an accusation against them.

Pass KYC later isn't a bad idea, not everyone want to verify their account.
I'm lost, if a casino is giving many excuses how will the gambler knew its legit? A casino might reject your identity maybe because the document you submitted are outdated or looks not like original copy, etc, there is no way you can call such platform a scam because they don't pass your verification, I mean, my passport is different from others passport.

Some even have weird national identity cards, I remember using one in 2018 and many exchange used to reject the ID, I don't blame them but I never called them scam, later I got my drivers license and I use that to pass every KYC requirement, never been rejected once.
Online casinos should be versatile enough to see which document or ID are real, and not just because your passport and their passport have different features. Every people that are living in different countries will of course have different identifications with them, so what you're saying is not really legit or the casino is sketchy. Reputable casinos will leave some remarks on why they rejected your identification so that you will know what's wrong about it.

To me passing KYC later is not a smart idea, if you don't want to verify your account do no make deposit on them, you can have difficulty passing the KYC verification even if the online casino is a very popular platform.
As a gambler should know the risks involved with passing the KYC and not passing the KYC because either move will get you different consequences in time. It's just a matter of perspective or if you're a big time roller.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: September 05, 2023, 02:10:14 PM
I still wanted this fight to be a show though, maybe the Haney's are cooking something and then in the last minute, will inform that this fight is a go. This fight is schedule for October so there's a lot of leeway for both teams to make the fight.
I'm hoping for the same thing too but I'm curious though, we're now in the month of September but still both camps are quite about it. There are even no news that are saying that their fight is already set and that their contract is already signed by both camps so it will really happen in the month of October.
So, if they are looking forward for the same thing then both of them should've agreed with the terms by now because time flies fast and the next thing we know, we're already in October.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 04, 2023, 03:53:29 PM
He's not a good player to trade for Giannis. There's no question that Davis is talented, but it's a big gamble for the Bucks to accept Davis because he's known to be injury-prone. While we're not hoping he will get injured, history has shown that he has been plagued by injuries most of the time. This is also the reason he was traded to the Lakers from the Pelicans.
The Bucks don't want him. PERIOD.

Can Davis be the franchise player of the Bucks? How can you put your trust into a player who's injury prone, and anytime, there's a chance that he might be out for the whole season? If healthy, he is a double-double machine, and one of the best bigs out there, but there's an "IF" on it. His performance last season is pretty well. Lesser injuries, and played well, but still there are still doubts if he can sustain to play that way knowing that he's been injured, and play only a few games for a number of years in the past.

The Bucks don't want to risk getting Davis for Giannis, and they will rather find another team that can give them better players than the Lakers. I believe those who has many draft picks are the ones that has the highest chance in getting him.

I'm curious now because, as far as I know, Giannis was rumored not to re-sign with the Bucks once he becomes a free agent. So, why are we discussing a possible trade here? I also gave my opinion about the potential trade, but now I realize that, is the trade really going to happen?

Since there are no trade rumors, all the discussions about which team could potentially land Giannis and which players would be exchanged for him don't make sense.

Perhaps the more appropriate discussion is which team could potentially sign Giannis in the upcoming offseason.

You know, it's quite funny to me that a single statement from Giannis alone has made the whole basketball community talk about a potential trade when in-fact it's not yet happening, at least for another season because he still got an existing contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. And if Giannis's target is to play while wearing the Warriors jersey, then we can already assume that he will wait until he will be in the free agency and then the Warriors can start to offer him what he wanted.
852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 04, 2023, 01:58:22 PM
There is a rumor floating around that Errol Spence had broken his ties with long time trainer Derrick James.
Again, this is just a rumor and could be fake news, but we all know that when fighters suffer their first defeat, they usually change trainers.
Just like with Anthony Joshua. And they said that the replacement will be Roy Jones. But that's where it gets interesting as Roy Jones for me is not a good trainer.
This is not good for Spence if this is true, if he is going to change it should be a trainer that is better than his current trainer, it will take a lot of time for both of them to familiarize each other they will need a tune-up fight first to fully familiarize or if Roy Jones style and method is suited for Spence.
Spence I believe is devastated he will not think of changing his trainer if he is not, They have gone a long way, and the loss in fact is a big challenge for both of them to improve, Derrick James' replacement just proved that Spence is ready to take a risk just to get even with Crawford.
It might and might not work for Spence if he switch coaches specially in a rematch. And it's true, and so as almost all other sports. It will be the coaches that will get the blame if a team or a individual losses a hight stake game.

So for me it's a bad move for Spence. Just stick with Derrick James, this is just his first lost under James and maybe also Derrick learn a lot from the first fight. James also become trainer of the year as well, so his credentials speak for himself. Pacquiao didn't change trainer when he lost, but instead him and coach Freddie try to improved in their next fights.

I looked it up and it seems to me that it's just a fake news meant to destroy their credibility or something like that, and I saw a video in YouTube that somewhat explains Spence's camp current issue. Other than that, if this thing were true, at all, there should be some articles made already saying that Spence severed his ties with his long-time trainer, Derrick James.

But since there aren't any, then it's quite safe to say that this rumor is not true at all. I'd say that it's a bold one yet a bad move if Spence is going to find another trainer and he doesn't need any of that at this point of his career specially if he's looking forward for a rematch against Crawford.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: September 04, 2023, 09:50:35 AM
At least here in the United States, big time lotto winners going broke is a tale as old as time. The majority of people who tend to win these lotteries aren't financially savvy individuals (typically why they are wasting money on cheap lotto tickets in the first place instead of putting their money on shitcoins or penny stocks, for example, that actually have a lot better chance at "winning") so they get the money and blow it.

Invest, invest and invest.  If you win a bunch of money gambling..invest it people.  Have fun, but invest the majority.

Much easier to say mate but for the people who don't exactly have the information like we do, they tend to gamble those winnings again (but this time, as a bigtime roller) with the same mindset and hopes that they will be lucky again and the rest, in most scenario, they will spend it in things that they never had like buying expensive things that are only a liability instead of a buying an assets. But again, most people that won the lottery are the people who doesn't have any knowledge on what to do that is why in the end, they will go back to where they started and start dreaming again.
854  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 04, 2023, 09:21:24 AM
There is a halving coming next year to which many people who know and have bitcoins have set a target of the amount they hope to have in their holding by the time the bull run begins. I like to know if with this knowledge of bitcoin halving coming, if anyone is investing in anything other than bitcoins. I do not mean alt-coin but things like Real Estate, stocks, bonds etc. I know that Real Estate is good to invest in, but asides real estate, what else are you risking the money you should to invest more in bitcoins on?

Investing is always a risk. There is no such thing as a safe investment. The halving of bitcoin is a fact, but not necessarily after the halving the value of bitcoin will increase. Yes, it has happened historically, but you can't guarantee that it will happen this time too

But people who are investing on it are hoping that somehow it will happen again, even if it's not really guaranteed, just like how it happened in the past years until bitcoin reached its last ath. It's a risk, yes, that is why we should only invest what we can afford to lose and only invest in coins that will probably make us money, same goes with properties and other investments.
855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, Bitcoin fits in this gap more than others. on: September 03, 2023, 07:12:09 PM
Come to think of it

Bitcoin is the most reliable digital currency that everything in the world today should move closer to, but the greediness and power in men won't let them.

They can't control it, and that's why they hate it.

Being decentralized is a part why the government should embrace Bitcoin in the world today, it's the only digital currency that can bring peace if allowed as a means of payment around the country.

Instead the Banks are getting in relations with Chainlink and XRP, something that's built centralized and imagine many countries start using these centralized coins and the same FTX shit happens, how will that go? Not good right?

If Bitcoin take that place instead it will be a smooth breeze, the government will have peace themselves, there will be no betrayer of sort because no one have power or control over Bitcoin.

To me Bitcoin just fits in the gap more than any others, oh but the heart of men anyway.

The greediness of men is bringing them closer to Bitcoin, look at the ETF scenario which
is ongoing, there is a demand for institutional investors to get into Bitcoin but not directly

While governments and central banks might still be negative and at best skeptical
of it I think there are very wealthy, successful and influential people who want to
invest in Bitcoin and thats because of what Bitcoin offers. The decentralised element of Bitcoin
is not an issue for these investors but from banks and governments there outlook is less
favourable because of that decentralised aspect.
Absolutely. Greed is what makes you wanting more about bitcoin. The fact that bitcoin is highly valuable and profitable than any other investment tool, then people have no reason to avoid it but to seize every opportunity that bitcoin has to offer. However, government and centralized financial institutions are seeing the opposite way. Bitcoin can be a source of big scams and fraudulence, but these will only happen if people own and invest into bitcoin without proper caution. Bitcoin is a high-risk asset, so one should never deal with it unconsciously.
856  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really risky as they say? on: September 03, 2023, 06:06:45 PM
The only reason why bitcoin becomes risky is when you are trying to own or achieve it without the basic knowledge about bitcoin. You could have end up losing your money through scams or just by simply buying and selling at a very wrong timing, or when the market is not having a good market entry. However, if you acquire knowledge the you need before buying or investing into bitcoin, you could have done it with caution so won’t fall into its high risk of losing.
857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you expect better, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? on: September 03, 2023, 05:29:28 PM
Hey all, I am new here: I've been reading a lot, and not posting much at first. You have a great place to learn at BCT. When trading crypto do you expect better, from yourself, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? Has anyone reading this ever found a cure? How do you permanently change and naturally be patient? Thanks all.
Trading is always hard and therefore should be learned the hard way. While I naturally have experienced about FOMO, but it was only when I was still a beginner trader. I was actually impulsive and impatient at first. But experience taught me that FOMOing has nothing good to offer but only losses and mistakes. That’s when I started to stick on my trading goal, and become more focused and patient, and never fall into FOMO again.
858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A typical weekend in sport betting-Why do gamblers still do sport bets? on: September 03, 2023, 02:22:22 PM
What is the reason that sport bettors still continue to place sport bets?

I'm not really sure what you meant by that question. As we know, there is always this two kinds of bettors; one who plays luck-based games and one who plays sports betting.
That alone, we can already tell their difference and it's very understandable why people are sticking to their choices because aside from the fact that they chose it because it suits them, they also picked it because they believed that in that area, they got more chances compared to the other one.
859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 03, 2023, 01:32:13 PM
It is going to be exciting if they can do it this season and if it's possible to make some trade offers to the Bucks. But if not, we have to wait until a year until he goes free agent. Anything is possible for a team that wants him badly and he badly wants to be with.

His free agency is so far away so many things can happen by then, with one of them being the Bucks winning another chip and having a top team.  Why would giannis want to leave at that point.  Or he gets injured and alters his desirability around the league, or any other thing that changes the current outlook.  What we know now is the Bucks ain't in the market to trade him.
Maybe he just wants to try something new and that's the best team that he's seeing as a championship team that can bring him another ring. Just as what KD has thought of before. Yeah, he won't be traded right away but if the time comes and talks have happened, there could be a mutual and beneficial agreement that they can end up with. But as statements coming out like Kerr saying things that he'd like to coach Giannis and Giannis going to their team, well something might be cook in the nearest future with these collaborations, transfers and trades.

It's not something new, he really look for teams that can bring him more championships in the future. No doubt that Bucks is still good, but some teams that won championship, it's hard to repeat and that's what the Bucks and Giannis experienced, they were not able to duplicate their success for multiple reasons.

So how can he achieved greatness if he just won one ring? Lakers, Spurs, and recently the Warriors are the teams that won multiple championship and some of the players, specially San Antonio Spurs have been recently inducted to the Basketball HOF.

He would like to make his job easier, and he believes that can be achieved by joining a team that is already a championship contender. With the Bucks, he knows that the team heavily relies on him, and he needs to work hard and play better if they want to win. However, with the Warriors, he can rely on players like Draymond, Klay, and especially Curry to carry the offense if he's not playing, which means less pressure on him and a happier playing environment.

It's not that new anymore specially in this era where star players wanted to join a team that has already existing star players to make a superteam because they know that once they join in, the chances to win in every games will definitely increase including their chance to participate in the Finals and probably, win the title.

Giannis is not that different and he thinks that it's much better that way rather than to be called as a star player with no history in the league. And indeed, duplicating what they did in the past couple of years will be hard to them because the league has improved along with its teams.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 03, 2023, 05:48:09 AM

Don't worry mate, it's not a disrespect if we're not saying these things to him face to face because we aren't even that close to him to begin with.
But since we are here to weigh the chances and to choose a much better option for our bets regardless of which boxer we support, it's somehow evident that Tapales's chance is quite lower compared to Inoue who have been dominating every boxer he has faced and Tapales will not be an exemption, and just like the others, he will be a stepping stone for Inoue.

And just to add up, Inoue is surely the heavy favorite here, and that's not disrespecting anyone but it's according to data though Tapales
might have more belts in this division than Inoue,

But the winning chance and the way of finishing the fight will side to Inoue, though as always, boxing is not exempted from those unusual outcomes.

Upset may take place as both fighters will have their time to train and to scout their opponents we never know
what Tapales camps will execute during the fight that might surprise and upset Inoue.. Just saying..

Both of them have the same amount of belts, Inoue holds the WBC and WBO while Tapales holds the other two, which is WBC and IBF.

Although, judging both fighters by how they claimed those said belts against their former opponent, Inoue had the amazing one because he defeated Fulton by a way of knockout which was believed as the more stronger compared to Akhmadallev while Tapales defeated Akhmadallev by a split decision. So, we can already say that Inoue truly have an edge in this fight even if we will forget their past five fights before they became a champion.

Could be equal though, I mean Tapales was the underdog against Akhmadallev and no one even give him a chance to win.
But look at what he do, he outsmart and out think Akhmadallev in their fight that Akhmadallev wasn't able to recover mentally.
And he wanted a rematch against Tapales because he was shook, but Tapales has bigger fish to catch and that is Naoya Inoue.
Nevertheless we really don't know if he can do it, to make another upset, and Tapales win here, it could really be the biggest upset of the year.

Tapales was lucky enough to rid of Murodjon Akhmadaliev because the latter's camp hasn't had the idea to bring up a rematch clause before they draw and signed the contract of their fight. That gives me some though that perhaps it wasn't an honest mistake made by the team because they were the champion, and it was big hole that they didn't fill and so I think that they might've underestimated Tapales hence why there wasn't a rematch clause.

Yes, most likely this is the case for the camp of Murodjon Akhmadaliev.
They have been the champion and to be honest, we really haven't heard of Marlon Tapales before.
It was all Nonito Donaire and Casimero and other Filipino at 118-122 lbs, and Marlon is just climbing up.
But it was a total surprised when Marlon pull one of the biggest upset when he beat a tough Murodjon Akhmadaliev, outboxing him very clearly and the judge was right about the score.
Now Murodjon Akhmadaliev camp is going to figure it out on how to become a champion again and probably not make the same mistakes.

To be honest, I didn't cared that much when I heard that a Filipino boxer was challenging the champion at 122 because when I figured out that it was Tapales, I thought that this is just an ordinary challenge made just to keep the champion warm and so I haven't had the confidence to side with him because his record is not that great to begin with.

But to my surprise, Marlon Tapales proved to the community that he wasn't that weak and even shocked the whole world when he upsets the then champion. So now, I understand when he still have the guts to confront Inoue because of what he experienced. We don't know what will happen but according to the datum, Inoue have the edge and there's no doubt about that.
