1461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what happened to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency? on: November 06, 2020, 07:51:32 PM
If a country develops its own digital currency it will still be a centralized digital currency.

It will be no different from electronic form of fiat money you have on your bank account with the difference that you'll be able to see your transaction on the blockchain without having to login to your bank account.

For investment purposes a decentralized cryptocurrency will always be a better choice.
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 24 eth instead of 24 usdt....What Will You Do If.......? on: November 06, 2020, 07:27:38 PM
If I'd get more money from my campaign or some job I'd return it of course.

If I got a higher withdrawal from the exchange I'd probably contact them with the issue and see if they'd be willing to give me a bonus. This way I'd feel good on my conscience and have some more money.

It's easy to say now but if it was a very high amount like a million dollars I'd have to fight myself not to keep it. I'm not sure what I'd do in that case, possibly take the money because it would be so much that I'd be able to live on it for the rest of my life.
1463  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Targets for 2020 on: November 06, 2020, 07:10:21 PM
Yes indeed, looking at the current trend I am sure that Bitcoin will break the barrier of $20k before the end of the year, now we have started seeing pump in the value of altcoins as well which is a great news for crypto enthusiasts. We have been waiting for this Bullrun for over two years and finally it has arrived, I would advise everyone to make most of it and avoid falling into trap.

I'm not so sure about that. 20 thousand is going to be an extremely strong resistance level.

Look how much time we needed to break 10 thousand and then 14. Bitcoin was lurking at 11-12 thousand level for a year! If we now go to 20 it's going to get dumped back to 12.

Paypal news created a strong uptrend but we'll need something more to go above 20.
1464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the Best Time to sell ? on: November 06, 2020, 07:01:37 PM
There are 2 best answers that I can think of.

1. The best time is at the top of the pump. If you had Bitcoin in 2017 then the best time was at 19000 dollars or above Wink
2. The best time is when you feel comfortable selling. The moment when you will be able to said I sold because I wanted to. Not I sold to save some money or I sold because I was scared.
1465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you received a call/text recently from a friend/fam asking about Bitcoin? on: November 06, 2020, 12:27:08 AM
Yes I did.

One of my friends contacted me to tell me that he regrets selling and another one messaged me to ask if it's a good time to buy.

It was when Bitcoin broke 12 thousand and I told him that every moment is a good moment to buy and that I thought he got something when we were at sub 10 thousand. I haven't heard from him since, hope he bought some.
1466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin foundation was formed? on: November 05, 2020, 11:18:07 PM
My opinion about the foundation is rather negative.

A bunch of people who had a lot of money and influence in the community thought they can form a type of council that would speak with one voice to the media and the politicians. At the same time they allowed people in for a fee, voted on stuff and so on.

It was like a group of teenagers roleplaying as the senate. No wonder the foundation met its end. It had no real purpose.
1467  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown in Europe can their economy survive this?. on: November 05, 2020, 09:25:28 PM
When we say the economy cannot survive what does it mean? What's the worst that can happen to a locked country? Some businesses will be close to bankruptcy and demand support from the government. Some will go bankrupt and be bought out by the competition. There's a lot of people who have the money to invest. Maybe some of them will be the new class of Bitcoin billionaires?

Countries second pandemic lock down will surely has effect on economic development. Some countries hasn't survive from the first lock down.

What? Not survived meaning what? They went bankrupt? Which countries? Grin Are you on something?
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Follow your mind! on: November 05, 2020, 09:16:52 PM
I always tell people to follow their own opinions and do their own research. FOMO and greed can be really destructive when you're a new investor.

The things you can sometimes read on the forum, like newbies telling others to buy this or that new shitcoin or people telling others to buy all top 10 CMC coins because if they are high they have to be good.

As for the borrowing. If you're a good trader and were successful making money with what you have, it's not a bad idea to borrow.
I don't consider on getting up some loan just for you to invest or make with trade because with this it isn't an assurance that you would able to repay such loan in a span of time.

Are you for real? You never have an assurance with anything you do.

You start a business. What assurance do you have that this business will succeed?
You go to bed at night. What assurance do you have that you'll wake up in the morning?
You buy Bitcoin. What assurance do you have that there won't be a dump tomorrow?

As long as you are a confident trader you can minimize the risk of trading borrowed money.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will mainstream users care about the difference? on: November 05, 2020, 03:35:49 PM
They won't care about the difference, but what exactly will be the difference between this centralized crypto and fiat money?

Now people have a choice to use centralized fiat money for payments or Bitcoin and Bitcoin is functioning well, with its value growing every year.

Will the introduction of a new centralized crypto be in any way a danger to Bitcoin when there already are centralized and fast cryptocurrencies like XRP that nobody uses?
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I guess bounty hunters really kill projects on: November 05, 2020, 02:59:52 PM
As a participant of their bounty campaign, do you feel that you are able to make their token price drop with the number of tokens you have ?
If their project is a good enough project, I don't think there is any way their token price could fall like that just because their bounty campaign participants sold the rewards they got.

Most tokens are worthless and get dumped that's something to be expected. Anybody who complains about it don't know the realities odf the altcoin market and the value of most bounty rewards and airdrops. They used to be worth something when ICOs were booming in 2018 but now it's mostly a waste of time.

Tokens have low liquidity, don't get listed, get listed on shady exchanges, require KYC and it takes months for them to be listed.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My suggestion for new projects team who want to promote their projects on: November 05, 2020, 02:43:36 PM
They should rather buy some decent already tradable coins and use them as bounty collateral so that people don't have to speculate if and when the coin gets listed and what the price will be.

Everybody will know the team is serious and the promotion is worth a certain amount of money for them not some wothless tokens that might get distributed in 6 months and exchangeable in 8.
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Atari Token: Public Sale of the Atari Token to begin October 29, 2020 on: November 05, 2020, 02:07:05 PM
I grew up playing Atari games so I am actually a bit excited about this one lol. This they release the tokenomics for the Atari tokens already? Can someone post the link, please?

Thank you

But have they really developed anything in the last 10 years? I only remember them from Rollercoaster Tycoon and it's probably the only game young people know them for.

Atari was a popular platform before my time and then they turned into a rather unsuccessful game developper.

On their page ou can read they're trying to get involved in casino games and even fundraising. You can see they're doing bad financially and want to make money from any means possible and crypto hype is one of them.

Bitcoin.com? Was there no better exchange?
1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reason Why $ETH sudden jump on: November 04, 2020, 11:06:16 PM
We have to wait and see before rejoicing because if eth breaks 500 only then we can see real breakout before that it is all range trading as recently eth has hit 450 to 480 range so a break above is very important.
I think it should be $420 first, next 450 and 480. If we can break 480 ETH may straight touch 560! It's just my opinion according to chart. All alt pump a lot except ETH since last biggest dump! So there is a good chance of big movement.

It's not even at its 3m high so for now the pump is really small for a news this bigh.

I expect it to at the very least touch the yearly high of 480 USD. If it doesn't it's going to be strange.

The only explanation for ETH not going to 500 would be that BTC is pumping even harder and people are selling all their alts to join the rally.
1474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hurray! Binance did it again on: November 04, 2020, 10:47:41 PM
At first, I thought it was the insurance company that back-up Binance in case something like this ever happens, apparently it wasn't.
However it questionable as the scammer was willing to return the funds as 99,9% recovered.
it seems there will be no law enforcement or prosecution in this case.

After being contacted by Binance, the scammer returned the funds to the exchange.
CoinDesk asked the exchange if it had reported the scammer to law enforcement, but a reply hadn't been received by press time.
~
According to Binance, the undisclosed scammer was “quick to cooperate in an attempt to avoid the impending consequences.”

source

So they aren't going to do anything about this thief.

They should at least release the information they got about him because once a scammer always a scammer. He's going to play dead for a while and come back with another idea.

If it was an attempted scam they could give him a warning but he got away with the money and got scared later.
1475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of the top 10 btc wallets hacked? on: November 04, 2020, 10:32:21 PM
They believed that it was 'just a move and the owners were playing around'. This one is more intense as a move specially during the election days.

Why do you assume that the owners or the hackers are from the US? If they are not why do you think moving it on this day had something to do with election in the US?

There's really nothing that would prove that there's a connection between the wallet and the election.

I have studied information on this movement of bitcoins. If this was a wallet hack, then the coins would be sent to multiple wallets.
Because of the above I think there's too much baseless speculation around this wallet. That person could be moving coins to a hardware wallet and is now reading this and laughing.
1476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We don't do it in Bitcoin! on: November 04, 2020, 10:13:34 PM
I'm fortunate to be familiar with Bitcoin, so there's no need to evade taxes by keeping gold in my ass hole. I can understand the reason
the person did this, because 18% tax was a very large amount. Hopefully someone tells that person about Bitcoin, so that person won't
do anything else weird to avoid taxes.

He risked it all for 18%. Now they're going to charge him for smuggling and take care of his gold for him.

I hope hie didn't damage any of his internal parts during "transport" because with his wealth in the hands of the police it will be hard for him to pay his medical bill Wink

It's easy to move Bitcoin around and easy to spend it without paying taxes because you can move to a country with a more lenient approach to cryptocurrencies. That guy could have avoided the humiliation if he only knew it.
1477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Energy Consumption Myths on: November 04, 2020, 10:02:32 PM
Methane gas is not infinite and do you know what rising demand comes with?

It is infinite if we assume that human and animal waste is infinite. As long as you have shit, you'll have methane and hydrogen sulfide. Both flammable and combustible.

Quote
Higher prices! And once something in a chain costs more guess what will happen to the end product. Energy is free if you find a way to capture transport and store it for free, and as you can see that's not possible.
What I mean is that it can be produced without any byproducts like CO2 and nuclear waste. Once you make dam on a river it can keep working with minimum maintenance for 100 years or more.

Just put OP on ignore.  Attempting to decipher their obnoxious posts kills brain cells.  Every topic they've ever posted is trash.  They're never going to make any worthwhile contributions to the forum.

+1

He keeps on making the same threads like:

People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5280498.msg55330235#msg55330235

What are his motives? He reveals some of them.
We are all btc Community but most are poor and broke only few fat cats with their bitcoins.

Really I dont see Nothing good or useful of btc.

OP didn't buy BTC and witnessed a recent pump. Is that anger of someone who feels like he missed the train? Is OP a sore loser?  Wink

Envy isn't healthy OP, just find something you like doing and do it!
1480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Turnoff Happen to Bitcoin on: November 03, 2020, 10:38:12 PM
The rise in cost of transaction is nothing unexpected.

The value of your bitcoins went up by 40% in the last 2 months, it's completely normal thath the fee in USD also rose by 40% and even more because the rise in value resulted in more mainstream attention and more transactions.

I don't think that people will be discouraged by this. It's not a lot of money to send 10 thousand dollars across the globe. It may be a lot to send 100 USD but not many people buy small amounts of bitcoin these days and when they do they can avoid the fees by keeping their coins on exchanges until there's enough of them for the fee to look small.
