1481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Those who deny that BTC will rise to seven figures: clearly explain yourselves on: August 30, 2013, 07:08:53 PM
Seven figures, seriously?  You're talking about one bitcoin being worth $1,000,000, really?  Not even if bitcoin takes over the entire world economy will it be worth that much, see Turr Demeester's talk on the potential value of one bitcoin.

In case you don't want to watch the whole video, he crunches the numbers and calculates that each bitcoin will be worth $500,000 if it takes over the world economy.  I would be seriously surprised if it does that within my lifetime, but that's likely the ceiling on the price.  At least in nominal value, anyway.  If it does this, but takes 50 - 100 years to do so, it may be worth that much, but not in today's dollars.

Incorrect.

Demester does not claim $500,000 "if it takes over the world economy," but if it becomes the world's reserve currency. Reserve currency is the fiat that countries keep in RESERVE, i.e. out of circulation. If you count all the fiat currency in circulation, inlcuding exotic derivative assets, the world economy is measured in the quadrillions.

However, world gross product is only in the tens to low 100s of trillions. That, I believe, is the market that Bitcoin will take a huge bite of. If it becomes the world's currency of choice, say 90% of that market, a Bitcoin will buy what a few million 2013 dollars can buy. The exchange rate will be much higher, since it will reflect all those toxic assets as well. (I.e. fiat would hyperinflate.)

I agree we're well on our way to world domination.  Now if i could just get people to stop laughing and pointing fingers whenever i want to pay in bitcoins...

move to the bay area - people seem to be gung ho for it here lol
1482  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin will hit $190 today: here's why on: August 30, 2013, 06:57:33 PM
Hello Guys,

Here is my detailed data analysis as to why bitcoin WILL hit this price today:

I will be repeating this post into A LOT of bfl threads now...If you are MAD at BFL, then "wreak havok on the lives of the persons mentioned"

I don't stand for nor support for "wreaking hovok on the lives of the persons mentioned".

A mod should probably look over the above post and delete it at their discretion.

hence i took your advice and left that on the google + thread....and will continue to post it wherever I can....these guys have had like 2+ years to FIX THEIR FUCKUPS.  I didn't give two shits 3 weeks ago...but they just couldn't resist bringing out the 'next scheme'  If these individuals get flooded with calls and hatemail and threatening letters and 4am phone calls getting cussed out...maybe they'll start to deliver their devices for a change....did you ever consider that?
1484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 30, 2013, 12:21:42 PM
the truth is if you will not make roi in next 2-3 months you are at loss.

so now you've changed your mind, haven't you?

b/c a few post above, you stated:

knc miners are not profitable. deal with it.

am I missing something obvious ?

yes, you are missing that you could make roi with other hardware...

AGAIN ....no proof....you're being a FUDspreader.
1485  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ANYONE TALKING POSITIVE ABOUT BFL..... on: August 30, 2013, 12:10:16 PM
If someone can find all of Josh's personal information, including what property he owns, the next step is to Lien his personal property for theft and fraud. Anyone who has a claim against Josh, should step forward and seize his personal property. I think it might be time for people to take back what belongs to them.
If I were dumb enough to be fucked over by Butterfly Labs, I would hire someone to track Josh home and find out where he lives, his car, his bank account etc., Then I would lien every personal item within 100 ft of him, including his wife's property, if he has one, and she has any. I would have his bank accounts seized by the Sheriffs, I would make sure to take every single item he owns.  Cool

Sorry to break it to you i didn't search to far to see if BFL truly has a incorporation but most likely they spent the little amount to for it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incorporation_%28business%29

Most likely legal action will be against the company (sadly its like a legal person).   Granted it is possible legal action could touch personal property...... it will be a lot harder.  Sad..... but they knew what they were doing when they made the company.

Josh couldn't cover 4M dollars with his current city data property.  A simple Google Search shows:

1486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Those who deny that BTC will rise to seven figures: clearly explain yourselves on: August 30, 2013, 09:07:58 AM
I've brought this up in other threads before but I belive that it will be an upward trend of bubbles and that bitcoin cannot see that price until like 100 years after its done being mined - like year 2240 when the availability of btc is extremely low.  sure you could buy it up at like 100 today and sell it for 1000  in this lifetime but I can't believe it to get into berkshire hathway prices unless huge companies or conglomerates or hedge funds all get into bitcoin.

In my opinion a whole rap album colaboration by eminem and tech n9ne with backup features from Ludacris kendrick lamar and royce da 5'9 where they all need to come up with the coolest songs on why bitcoin 'takes over' wouldn't make bitcoin price jump to 10k a coin....if it did then the winklevoss twins wouldve paid for it to happen by now with their hundred thousand bitcoin havin asses.
1487  Economy / Speculation / Re: AVAdayTrader... I'm here to change your lives. on: August 30, 2013, 09:01:33 AM

Have you considered trading coins at cryptsy.com where all the alt-coins are traded?

+1 everyone get in now while things are low and you *could* gain like bitcoin holders gained back in March..if you were smart and sold out.

Risk, yes, but definitely  worth the great reward and remember its not a loss until you get rid of it.
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the price be on October 1st? on: August 30, 2013, 07:09:03 AM
Comment your crazy sub $100 / plus $200 figures.

Actually, maybe plus $200 isn't that crazy...is it? That's what the poll is for I guess!

Nice we're almost halfway there and I voted 130-140.  Trade alts using Cryptsy.  I'm going to hijack every post with that phrase.
1489  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Need advice on a web project (NODE/JS/PHP) on: August 30, 2013, 02:36:50 AM
You could have a local block explorer that you could make calls to with php... save to the db.. then use a websocket server to keep the website live.

That would be my approach.

nice website

1491  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Novacoin $15 NVC giveaway WRONG SITE LINK on: August 30, 2013, 02:15:17 AM
Phishing site, obviously it has trojan virus.

those are two different things - yes its an infected client but not a phising site
1492  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-08-29 Market Watch - Do bitcoins belong in your retirement portfolio? on: August 30, 2013, 01:46:27 AM
put 2% of your net worth in bitcoin and you'll retire a millionaire.

[sarcasm]2 dollars does not equate to millionaire even 100 years later remember you don't gain interest like an annuity.[/sarcasm]

thanks again this read has been great!
1493  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: On Mining on: August 30, 2013, 01:00:14 AM
Dont lay all your eggs in one activity - mining is only one prong in what should be several:

Selling wares for btc
Trading actively on exchanges into alts and speculating on future value
Providing a service or completing projects for btc
and then - MINING..preferrably on alt-coins which have a much smaller difficulty.
1494  Other / Off-topic / Re: Butterfly Labs artwork on: August 30, 2013, 12:52:53 AM

1495  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BFL FRAUD Continues on: August 30, 2013, 12:47:33 AM
Still killing me that you got dumb-shit fucks on this forum still putting up "will I make any money if I pre-order the BFL 5GH single today?"  and you have others telling them "you'll get it in 2 month promise!"

personally - fuck gmaxwell and inaba they work together to hardcore deceive the thread forum with the BFL banner ads.  The average person will say - well they are able to advertise here so of course they must be reputable.  WRONG!!!!!

Yes Global Mods, I have a bone to pick with you - WHY DO YOU PERPETUATE THE FRAUD!!!!!
1496  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: STOP WITH THE 2 MONTHS BULLSHIT on: August 29, 2013, 11:53:10 PM
Yeah, yeah - you're just terrified the hashrate will spike in two months when the BFL Dreamliners Monarchs are delivered.

lol you're right I'm shaking in my boots when those monarchs hit the streets an difficulty is already at like 6billion (ie 2015).  We all know that if you 'gotta have' that hashrate you could easily pickup a babyjet or jupiter and see it in hand long before anyone else does.  IDK about the sales of the hardware as we all know - the real miners will keep buying up more hardware to preserve the slice of pie they have in the face of an ever-increasing difficulty rate.

...didn't catch the sarcasm...that was great Cheesy  I work in the lithium industry...
1497  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Wanna buy KNCMiner? Prediction Data -> Time vs Hash Rate vs Difficulty Data set on: August 29, 2013, 11:43:28 PM
you all assume to break even with the miner based on the current BTC price.

But with the BTC difficulty sky rocketing the value of BTC will also (again) skyrocket, so you can make a big profit with these ASICs.
Who knows what the value of BTC will be in 1 or 2 years from now? 200$ ? 1000$ ? 2000$ ?

ermmm no to the 1000+ prices...too many will dump their coins around 500 bucks and the greed alone will make a new bubble crash it could happen but it would be a long term upward spiral trend filled with bubbles.

(but hey...maybe I'm just being a FUD spreader that doesn't want people to buy into mining to postpone the diff. spikes right?)
1498  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / STOP WITH THE 2 MONTHS BULLSHIT on: August 29, 2013, 11:36:03 PM
I noticed that everywhere I look - all reputable bit-coin related publications and persons who quote BFL are STILL quoting from their website - It isn't 2 months you guys.

Thegenesis block - ITS NOT 2 MONTHS FROM NOW!

bitcoinx - ITS NOT 2 MONTHS FROM NOW!

Hero Members of Bitcointalk.org - ITS NOT 2 MONTHS FROM NOW!

Fuck it - I'm totally cool with FUD on the newbies all day...whatever it takes to get all the stupid ones to buy in on BFL so that their funds are locked in hardware that they won't get till the end of 2014 and the difficulty doesn't spike (only a sliver slower as everyone else is going to put hardware out there that will dwarve the network hashrate at an exponential rate no slowdown)

1499  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Novacoin phising site on: August 29, 2013, 11:30:54 PM
Same Guys I did too.  Dont Fall for the greed on this one here.  Whoislookup is pasted...clearly shows the site was registered yesterday.

1500  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What miner should I be using? on: August 29, 2013, 11:17:22 PM
Hello, I've just got into bitcoin mining and want to invest more into it. I was going to start on the butterfly labs jalapeno, but people on another forum have told me that it's not going to work out for me, something to do with difficultly. (Don't know much about it) Could somebody help me determine if I will be making profit or not. I've been looking at online bitcoin calculators, mining at 5000Mh/s should get me $13 a day, so in a month, I should have my money back. (Miner = around 250-300) So, what do you guys think? Do I need to look at upgrades or something? (tight budget :/) Also, I've heard of time kind of over clocking for the butterfly labs jalapeno, for like 8Gh/s

Thank you for ready!

honestly this is one of those things you need to spend time and effort figuring out yourself...would you take all your money to a drug dealer and say...which drug can I resell for the most profit?  You really think he would tell you?  I think he would sell you HIS most profitable drug instead.

When they say 2-3 months out they are lying to you...its more like 9-15 months out.
