1481  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: May 10, 2017, 10:50:48 AM
Panic selling is just for inexperience holder of the bitcoin because if you are have enough knowledge you will not do a panic selling.

I am one of those inexperience holders that started to panic when I'm seeing the price of bitcoin to fall but I learned from my mistake and started to focus with the charts. And right now, I strongly believe that the price of bitcoin is going to become higher and I don't need to panic right now, the market of btc is strong.

Yes, to make good money using bitcoin you need to get a lot of patience, because emotions can only be lost.

And if you are going to become more patient as the price of bitcoin is going to increase for some more and I think this is unstoppable right now. Those panic sellers are also happy right now and they don't intend to sell some of their holdings because they are seeing that it will give them big profit when the price starts to increase more.
same thing happened when bitcoin price go up back in 2014 ago to around $800-$950 but then get dropped to $220 , people start calling bitcoin dead already that time. you can't always be optimistic , you need some plan B in case something similar happened today . panic selling would happened once there's a heavy drop like -20% / 50%.
1482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: May 10, 2017, 10:15:42 AM
Yes sports lovers will love sports betting. And those who like sports they will like slot games. For me, slot games are lazy games no stress, and no strategies and no planning just pick number and roll. For few minutes it is ok to play. But for a long time yes it is boring and no profit. So I will not play much slot games I like skill games.

I think that's exactly the point of slot games. A lazy way to gamble. There is nothing you can do expect to sit back and press the spin button and see if you get lucky. When I play I think that are the animations that keep me interested. I also get happy when I get free spins, and then I go out, either if I lost the amount I invested, or If I got a lucky roll and got some decent profit.
i would nominate dice as the laziest game to gamble rather than slots that at least it has some picture to see. slot machine are just like lottery , it's has super high odds to win but once you get some lucky to win it you might could buy anything around you. can't imagine how the feeling won the jackpot and that's could be the reason why people keep chasing it.

1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better? To gamble or to invest? on: May 10, 2017, 09:43:56 AM
Investing seems much safer than gambling. But from gambling, it is possible to get a big profit in minutes. Risking what we can afford may be a consideration for making a decision to gamble or to invest.

It is possible to get a big profit in few minutes and also you can lose everything in few minutes as well. If you have to choose between these two then simply go for investment instead. Unless it is EV+ , there is no point to gamble because we are just going to lose although variance might happen however chances are slim

Same opinion here. Gambling is to risky.
I hope most people will realize to stop gambling for the money, let's do it for fun to avoid big loses, it will never benefit us in the long run since gambling sites will continue to operate and they are profit oriented too. The thing that they have is the advantage so we will never gonna win.

we should make gambling is fun things that we can do because we don't need to risk our money to expecting win big money and its better to enjoy the games. if sometimes we have our luck to win big money then its only work for that day and its not work for the other day. and i really agree to invest in many section not just in gambling because we can earn much of profit if our invest is growth.
how could you make gambling completely fun? i think a lot of people have tried to having fun in gambling. but all of them just got stressed instead get entertained , you know why? it's because gambling offer a nice potential profit and everytime you forgot about the negative impact when you can't afford to lost it. each gambling and investment has different level of risk and of course to invest much better.

1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: May 09, 2017, 10:34:26 PM
There is nothing wrong with your actions Said wrong if you violate state law, or violate social norms in your neighborhood. To be sure, gambling is an activity that actually wastes precious time we have.

It is wasting your precious if you don't get good benefit on it. But if you are able to violate laws and other bad things while you are gambling, you better stop on it because it is the one that leads you to get into wrong doings and bad situation.
In most countries gambling is banned as according to them they do not want their citizens to become addicts but in their countries there are some people who can manage their betting and can control themselves and only gamble for fun so these people are also restricted from gambling and they also cannot gamble only for their fun. So I think this ban is not good for them these laws will damage their wish.

Those countries are very wise and they don't want their citizen to fall for addiction in gambling because they know that it can affect their living. And there's an alternative for it, only those foreigners are allowed to gamble because their money will be addition to the total economy's money if those gamblers are going to lose upon visit.
each person , each government actually have different opinion about gambling and as the result it's affected to how they make gambling rule , some government prefer to ban bitcoin without any exception and some government prefer to regulates gambling and legalize it. so it's just the matter about what your opinion. but generally i think nothing wrong with gambling.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: May 09, 2017, 10:01:43 PM
Less sure about that. I do not think so, because in gambling analysis and experience does not help us to achieve profits that can last for a long time. However, it is possible if we have a profit target that is not too big in gambling.
yeah things that always make a lot of people can't have a profit in every single chance are due they are expect too much and set a high number of profit , a high percentage profit that actually not makes sense. gambling always make people to think like that . to set a realistic profit goal might could help you to realize make gambling profitable.
1488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is more risky. Sport or casino bets ? on: May 09, 2017, 09:45:33 PM
Any game of chance consists of risks, and despite the fact that these are betting on sports games or betting in a casino. What can be lost there or there.

Not just any, all games and gambling games consist risks, even a sports betting or a bet in a casino. But betting in a casino is more risky than betting on a sports game, analysis and experience can help you win your bet, in casino bets, there may be some games that requires skill, but mostly it requires luck.
lol did you think sportsbetting not requires luck mostly? even a lot of people has been made a claim about how experience and skill analysis could bring you bigger chance to win , i don't think it would beat on how luck take bigger role to determine the outcome in gambling. it would always about luck in the end.
1489  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: May 05, 2017, 08:31:19 AM
why so many people store their bitcoin in their wallet for a long time, whether the benefits will they get?

Come share your thoughts

if you stored 1$ = 1 btc in 2011 you will get 1.500 $ in 2017
Exactly. Many people argue what is the fun of holding Bitcoin for long, better buy low, sell higher and move ahead with profits. But simple reply to them is to ask those who are holding back from 2011 !! For few bucks profits, many missed the chance of becoming millionaire. Thus, holding bitcoin in wallets for long time can bring unexpected capital gains to a person.
those people who holding thousands bitcoin back in early days would really got heart attack to see the current bitcoin price. my lowest purchase are back in 4 or 3 years ago when the bitcoin price are around $200-$250 and sold most of them at $600 to $800 and now i just can wondering if i sell it now or even hold it a little longer for future investment. now you guys have to believe saving for long time should be the best option!
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC getting too expensive to gamble with on: May 05, 2017, 08:23:57 AM
What other cryptocurrency are you using and which casino are you playing at? BTC is getting to expensive to be depositing and playing in just BTC.

That doesn't even make sense, wtf

You want to bet a 100$?
Bet equivalent of 100$
Want to bet 10$?
Bet equivalent of 10$

That doesn't make any sense
There's always mBTC and Satoshi for easier counting

However, you can always bet with dogecoin, you'll feel you're betting millions (because you literally are)
that's true , you just need to adjust it and there's nothing changed. it's even gives you benefit when bitcoin price in bullish , in rising trends. that was not a reasonable reason to switch your currency into altcoins to gamble. bitcoin would still remain as the most cryptocurrency used to gamble. gamble with altcoin even not recommended at this point , the volatile price could hurt your profit.

Basically you buy 100$ worth of bitcoin
You play a 1.6 slip
You won 160$
But wait
Bitcoin grew 30%
Now you have 208$

Wow, we surely love betting with bitcoin  Cheesy
Saying bitcoin is too expensive to bet with literally doesn't make any sense
0 sense
yeah with bitcoin price skyrocketed like recently it's actually should make people be more excited to gamble with bitcoin . this is really doesn't makes any sense unless op are one of many altcoin developer who in mission to promoting and encourage people to switch their currency to gamble in crypto casinos , then it's makes sense.
1491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play with your profit or not? on: May 05, 2017, 07:58:09 AM
If i have a profit in a particular game i usually stop in the game because i believe in playsafe. You know you dont the time of luck you have sometimes Its short and sometimes its long. So to be able win the game playing safe is must. If you see that you get profit goal then stop and play again tomorrow.
yeah some people beileve that when you keep playing without have a break time you would get stressed and once greedy takeover yourself then everything just ended early , everything you have got previously could disappear faster than when you get it. better to looking for your luck in different time and collect your winning even for a while.
No, there must be a difference about that if you keep playing with your profits then there is a chance you can win bigger because in that situation you will feel fun so you can win bigger and you will made many bets that increased the chance to win.
no i don't think , there would always two sides on everything , positive and negative , good and bad. so do in this situation you have to anticipate for something unexpected , something bad before it's happened. you can't just be optimistic that you would have a bigger chance to win when you are gambling with nothing to lose .
1492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: May 04, 2017, 07:28:11 PM
that's right, gambling is not easy. This is a big risk, but when you can take risks, it will not be a problem.
as long as you can benefit, I think it's still better than you always lose and it does really have to give up, it means that you don't have a good strategy on gambling

There's no risk when you are going to give up gambling. But the risk of losing everything you've got will be gone, that's how gambling works, it will just make you addicted and if there's a benefit on it that is only very few. It really depends on how you are going to deal with it. Of course keep on trying to help yourself about it.
the problem are not on how you can take a risk or not . but on how you handle the hard situation in case you get a very bad result and causing your financial status in danger . should you to take a break and continue later or just quit gambling forever to avoid the same thing happened in the future? it's up to you , but when you decide to quit forever just prepare yourself as the proccess feel like when you want to stop on drugs addiction.
Once you decided to stop gambling don't think again to come back. Don't give a small break and come back again. How many times you play and whenever you play the result is same in gambling. So once you met any bad experience in gambling stop gambling and never come back. Yes, it is not easy to stop gambling so you must addict to another thing to stop this gambling then only it is possible.
any addiction never have a good result. so i disagree with your opinion about you have to become an addict to another thing. you should treat anything as normal as possible , don't get exceed the limit. just go for a professional help when you think it's more than just addiction , but it's has been a dangerous disease. that's actually makes everyone hard to giving up.
1493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: May 04, 2017, 07:05:43 PM
If you try to gamble for a long period of time then the odds of you being successful is better than you not gambling in a technical standpoint. If you want to win a whole bunch of gambling games then I would suggest that you try to get more money to put inside your gambling account because you will be able to use only a portion of your Bankroll to win money on each gamble.
managing bankroll are the only way for anyone to maximize the chance survive getting profit steady in the long run , even though it wasn't an easy thing to do . so no matter you have small amount or huge amount in your account, when you have no ability to manage your bankroll i think you would struggle to make it happen.
Handling bankroll and you must know when to stop your game then only you can make long run win in gambling. if you maintain all ways, also it is not easy. And the investment does not matter here, small investment and big investment will not help you to win your games. Only thing is you must concentrate on skill games and try to play low odds bets then it may be possible.
there's no guarantee you could gamble in profitable way , no matter you play a skill based games like poker or sportsbetting , and even choosing the low odds feel like really hurt when you got a losing streaks , better to avoid low odds and keep chasing fair odds like 1.9 or higher in my opinion. just don't think too high about making profit through gambling , some people call it as mission impossible.
1494  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: May 04, 2017, 06:45:01 PM
Bitcoin is easy to earn than cash but it's still better to hold a real money instead bitcoin because real money can accept as a payment but bitcoin cannot be accepted as a real money it can be only accepted in the internet not in the real world.
We need internet to transact using bitcoin. There are some restaurant in america that accept bitcoin now. We just have to wait for the moment when bitcoin is accepted by many merchants. Better focus to earn bitcoin because it is good investment too

Yes, we have to earn as many bitcoins as possible. The price goes up and it's very good. But I still very much doubt that bitcoin can replace cash. These are different types of currency they can not be compared
when you are an unemployed then you would say it's easier to earn bitcoin than cash of course  Cheesy , it's not the main point btw. the system on how bitcoin as a tool to transact pay something , buy something are really different with the cash itself. it's decentralized vs centralized , people love to do something freely without have to ruled and controlled , bitcoin have it all , just the matter of time people could become as popular as cash.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites earnings? on: May 04, 2017, 06:36:59 PM
Mostly majority gambling sites or casinos whether its private or public will definitely be earning profits due to which they are still running. Nobody of them is actually doing any charity that they will keep on running in losses. Either they are being funded or they made profits.
i think primedice have experienced a huge lost when they claimed has been compromised by user hufflepuff who have successfully cashed out 2,000 bitcoin . they keep running even in huge lost , as they know sooner or later as long as they have financial resilience they would get the lost covered and even get the site profit back . so far so good , they are back on top as the best dice site around.
1496  Economy / Gambling / Re: SPORTS BOOK RANKINGS ~ COMPLETELY USER GENERATED on: May 04, 2017, 06:28:05 PM
Hello everyone, thank you for your votes, I will update the rankings as soon as I can, with these new votes

Hello everyone, all votes have been updated until this post.
As you can see in the opening post, I've changed things a bit, to make the rankings more accurate.
For a SportsBook to be added to the rankings, they will have to reach at least 5 votes. That number will increase as we get more votes.

For transparency reasons, I used the second post of this thread, to keep only the sportsbooks that are still bellow the minimum number of votes.
how about create a logs in the second post? to make it more transparent  Huh

What do you mean create a log? Keeping a table with both top voted and the SportsBook that still don't have the minimum number of votes?
Because you already have that information, if you combine the top post with the second post. All SportsBook are there, with their rankings and votes.

If it's something else, please explain, because I did not understood.
every changes you made should be in the changelog , for example you can refer to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0 , so people would know that there's no manipulation on the rating Wink keep up the good work fruegreads.

Ok, I understood it now. It seems like a good suggestion.
I will do it as soon as I can, probably during the weekend or something like that.
hmms seems like i didn't see yet the changelog there fruegreads, it's sounds not necessary buit it could increase your thread credibility i guess. quite unfortunate to see people missed a good bitcoin sportsbook with a good lines like fairlay , they are the best on having the greatest odds among any other bitcoin sportsbook i can rate them 4 , and for jetwin 3 as they have good site interface but have a bad support.
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your game and why? on: May 04, 2017, 06:14:54 PM
For me my game in gambling is about card games i can either choose baccarat or poker because i am to familiar how it played i have my own tricks and strategy when i am playing so i know when to bet a higher amount or not i also know when the right timing when to stop or continue playing.
It's fun because the probability of card games are somewhat fair, in my opinion. But there are expert dealers that can do sleight of hand deals that some people wouldn't really notice and they train like that because it's important I think.
sometimes card games even like live dealer blackjack really annoying , few months ago there's a player who reveal how the live dealer cheating on him. several times caught cheated by make the high roller to lost and the smaller amount bet let to win. we should always be careful everytime , casino owner/dealers sometimes didn't have a good intention to provide a honest service. there's no more fun when it's happened.
1498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: May 04, 2017, 08:16:10 AM
My way in playing gambling is don't be to aggressive and to greedy in betting because you have a great chance to lose a lot of money if you are to aggressive in betting.  And also choose the games that you might have a chance in winning the game and know how to stop.
yeah people always chase the losing amount immediately right after they have got a lost. it was not a smart move , you need refresh your brain before restart to play as in a lot of case when you lost for once then double the bet > lost it , double bet again and still lost it . that time are a crucial moment for you to hold yourself to be more calm down. smart means an ability to control the situation and take it as advantage.
1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better? To gamble or to invest? on: May 03, 2017, 10:31:21 PM
Investments are less risky but have lower incomes and are very stretched in time. I like gambling but I'm always afraid to lose and therefore do not go for big bets.

In what terms do you like gambling? Do you like it because of the fun that you can get or for the possible big money you can get? I would definitely prefer to keep on choosing investments, this is very profitable unlike in gambling, instead of making profits. You will end up into losing a lot of money and it all will be wasted there.
most of the games are having negative expected value , people realize about how hard earn profit from gambling. but due they have got addicted already they don't even need a reason to keep playing and stake everything. and clearly investment much more risk fair and safe way to have a good earning as long as you have a good planning , not just doing random investment here and there.
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: May 03, 2017, 10:22:01 PM
With the current surge of bitcoin price, It is no longer for fun. You better protect your bitcoin assets now because I believed hackers are now targeting it for easy money. So if you are saving or investing on it for future purpose better protect you wallet.

Again, for me bitcoin is really a good investment for long term. If you have money its not to late to put some money on it because it will really paid big dividends for you in the next couple of years. Halving will happened in the next 3 years, so bitcoin will be scarce but the demand for it will be high so the price of it will soon skyrocket to the moon. So I advise everyone to hold on your precious bitcoins.

completely agree with your opinion , $1,500 aren't a good way to have fun with. it's promising and should be the right time for you to take the opportunity to make profit seriously. do it now before the bitcoin price getting expensive and you can't afford to buy it and regret it later. at the moment bitcoin just need a strong merchants to adopt bitcoin to seal the existence and keep the price for long time enough at current level.
