1481  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [17th Dec] on: December 17, 2014, 10:49:39 PM
I'd suggest changing on time for technobit from Yes to Mix until the issues with their minion group buy are resolved.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=682105.1280

Can you explain why its Technobit's fault and not BA's fault in the GB please?

Also, I would suggest changing HashCoins from F to O for ethics until they can adequately address the serious issues that ckolivas and I have raised in their thread.

I don't like the manner in which they were attacked in that thread, ie "its a scam unless you do x y z and I've given you negative trust". There are Zeus customers out there and they haven't complained, so its more than possible what they've claimed is correct. I know you and CK say it isn't in your views, but then were are the complaining customers? There is a good chance that cgminer / the chips are simply behaving in a way not observed yet.

We all know your ratings are based on your own opinion, thank you for further clarifying such.  Con man and Mr. Teal are both proven experts in their respective fields.  They have both asked legitimate questions and presented convincing arguments.  Mr Teal even offered up a 100 coins (against their 100 obviously) if they could prove their claims.  The burden should be on Hashcoins to prove that Con man and Mr Teal are mistaken, not the other way around.
1482  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement - ASIC mining processor by Butterfly Labs on: December 01, 2014, 12:09:18 AM
Regardless there are other things going for them that will involve criminal liability for them.

Almost certainly true, it is difficult to imagine other agencies not coming in for round two.  What is amusing somewhat is that the FTC shit is going to feel like fun time to BFL when round two starts.  In all probability it only gets worse from here for a lot of people involved with the scam.  My only point was the SEC is unlikely to weigh in on BFL.

Josh's GLBSE's dealings come to mind.

That's Josh not BFL, the post I quoted mention the SEC coming after BFL and I think that is extremely unlikely given what we know now.
1483  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement - ASIC mining processor by Butterfly Labs on: November 30, 2014, 01:43:52 PM
... My guess you must have been doing some serious drugs the night before. ...

Maybe it was bath-salts from Silk Road, those cause the brain to cook a little. I remember the bath-salt zombie media blitz of 2013 where one woman dropped dead from a cooked brain however, she killed a pitbull by biting to death first. Also this one dude in Florida ate pieces of another guys face after he failed to score. Classic Satanic drug-induced homo-necrotic and necro-bestiality activity.

Maybe it has a previously undocumented case of ripping off customers and mining with their hardware as well.

Some customers have been robbed of millions worth crypto-mining revenue, I'm surprised he's as healthy as he his. Money to support a family, money to buy a house, money to buy nice cars. A million bucks buys a lot of dreams.

Millions stolen crushes the dreams of others. Considering that BFL was started on 8k and funded on pre-orders money that makes every person who paid for a pre-order an investor. After the FTC is done it will be the SEC's turn for securities fraud.

No it makes every person a victim and unsecured creditor in a fraudulent business that will go into liquidation.  It also makes BF LABS INC an undercapitalised corporation which provides a VERY strong avenue for piercing the corp veil (BFL even made claims to contrary as it was a hotly discussed issue at the time).  Lots of us talked about it before BFL started shipping 65nm line and that if BFL was doing that it was a BIG gamble and not very smart).  Even though they probably don't actually need the undercap avenue since once they prove fraud all bets for LLC protection are gone.

The SEC is not getting involved with BFL, this is consumer white collar fraud. Possible mail/wire fraud, money laundering, deceptive business practices, misuse of corp money, stealing from customers, parole violations.  The list goes on but none of them involve stuff the SEC would deal with mate.
1484  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 07, 2014, 09:19:43 PM
Wow, haven't been around here in a while.  I see my question, regarding the auction of claims against Simon Barber, has been answered.

I just hope that whoever buys the asset will be transparent and let us all break out the popcorn and enjoy watching the process of trying to extract cash from the bastard.

What are Eddie, Scrotum, and Long Dong up to these days?

You few who repeatedly complain about the initial bankruptcy filing, claiming it was the wrong thing to do, well, your complaint is based on a false premise.  That premise being that the company was prepared and capable of fixing itself while meeting its outstanding obligations to customers.  However this bankruptcy ends up, and it isn't going well for anybody (since HF spent money like Pablo Escobar), I think it is absolutely clear that the company was not going to do right to its customers, and those customers (including me) were quite reasonably acting within their rights to try to go in and fix it / or salvage.  Turned out to be salvage since, as already mentioned, the irresponsible management had already blown through all the money without  meeting obligations.

Reportedly they are both (Eddie and Simon) still working for HF and collecting paltry 6 figure salaries!  I guess once Simon got back from his month long over seas vacation he was so recharged and eager to right this ship that it made sense to keep paying him LOL
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Official Blacklist of Entities Operating in the Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency Space on: November 05, 2014, 04:30:21 AM
What about adding Thomas Van whateverthefuck from the bASIC scam.  I don't think he's around on the cablepair account but still wouldn't hurt to warn folks if he decides to stop by again!

Also why the fuck don't you have Sonny K on the list for BFL??  Roll Eyes

You mean Thomas Van Riper, no?

Ya thanks, couldn't remember for sure and didn't feel like digging it up.

1488  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [$0.35/GH] Bankrupted HashFast Hardware Sale on: October 23, 2014, 01:01:14 AM
You can hear it in the hearings and have it confirmed this Friday (in the status update hearing). Simon and Edward are still there, but they signed most of their powers away to the CRO, Victor, that was agreed with the committee. Edward was moved to sales but kept his full salary, at least the last time I heard something about him. So yes, they are still being paid 6 figures, and that was the case even before that they raised their own salary at the beginning of this year (twice) while they weren't shipping machines due to a lack of cashflow.

Well it might comfort some potential customers that a portion of the money they spend will indeed be used to maintain the comfortable meager lifestyles of the two people mostly responsible for fucking everything up.

It wouldn't comfort me but hell I'm kinda funny like that  Wink
1489  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [$0.35/GH] Bankrupted HashFast Hardware Sale on: October 22, 2014, 08:40:21 PM
Are Eddie and Simon still drawing salaries?
Not exactly a definitive, proven statement but https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=830418.msg9287659#msg9287659 I'd be interested in knowing the formal answer to this too.

Ya I saw that but it is also being heavily touted that old management is no longer involved.  I am hoping that Eddie and Simon no longer hold C level positions within the corporation.  I assume C-level execs are considered management.  Also if they are still there couldn't they have different titles so they didn't have to pay them 6 figure salaries?

1491  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer U3: Decentralization continued. Order now, Ship on Nov. 5th on: October 18, 2014, 04:54:29 PM
Decentralization continued, really??.  Sorry Bitmain, while you guys have provided lots of good product to consumers the decentralization train left the station some time ago.

Why does everyone quote ck like he is a God? He's just one person, like everyone else. He has no additional knowledge of the market, like everyone else.

I quoted him in this instance because he is correct and presented the information well.

I don't think he is god, I don't believe in god/s.  His reputation can speak for itself and if I thought he was wrong I would have no problems saying so.  In this case however he was/is pretty much bang on mate.

I notice you didn't argue with the substance of the post but instead look to misdirect by basically calling me a fan boy.

Don't worry Dogie your meal ticket is still in place, as Conman pointed out there are still enough suckers blinded by greed that they can afford to keep you on contract for a while yet.

Do you have some comments on how mining will turn now? A lot of home miners stopped mining due to -ve ROI.
Interesting question. All the more interesting because no one has actually asked me before on the forums, even though I've discussed it at length on IRC and am very happy at any time for people to know what I think.

Mining died for the community/home miner a long time ago. It's just that the community miners haven't realised or accepted it yet. Community mining is only 15% of the hashrate now and shrinking. They're always hopeful and expectant but there really is no reason for them to be that way. Mining has gone to the data halls and the massive farms, mostly run by the manufacturers themselves who have the ability to create hardware on the cheap and offer it to the select few entities who can help their mining operations or provide funding or cheap hosting, instead of the consumer buyer market which is annoying, small time, noisy and boring. The only reason they continue to sell to that regular consumer market is there are enough people who have unrealistic expectations of making a profit somehow because they simply cannot believe that the numbers are stacked against them, such that the hardware manufacturers can charge a ridiculous premium to sell to that market to make it worth their while.

This should come as no surprise to anyone who's been watching bitcoin at large, but it will continue to surprise bitcoin miners, past, present and future. The reason miners don't see it is they're so blinded by the concept of a "money making machine" or the "goose that laid the golden egg" that they just can't see it.

Here's a quote of mine. Note the date on it:

Long term, cgminer will be the lowest overhead c software to drive ASICs to do bitcoin mining, with lots of code in it that is no longer relevant to BTC mining. What I really worry about, is that new hardware will continue to come out frequently enough that people end up on a cycle of investing in hardware that basically never pays itself off as slightly newer hardware and higher diffs keep coming out. Sure at some stage the limits of technology will be reached, but given the best tech at the moment is going to be 65nm ASICs when CPUs are 28nm devices, I can see the cycle going on for some time, and then even if btc mining ASICs end up in line with CPU manufacturers, they still continue to evolve over time. Dramatic profits from ASICs will likely only last a couple of weeks at most for a lucky few. The rest of you who paid for devices that don't even exist yet will not be making any magical profit no matter how big the hashrate appears. Your proportion of the total bitcoin hashrate will remain pitiful.

To give you an idea of how long this has been known to the bitcoin community, even if miners refuse to see it, I think it's best to leave the final word to Satoshi himself, the inventor of bitcoin:

The current system where every user is a network node is not the intended configuration for large scale.  That would be like every Usenet user runs their own NNTP server.  The design supports letting users just be users.  The more burden it is to run a node, the fewer nodes there will be.  Those few nodes will be big server farms.  The rest will be client nodes that only do transactions and don't generate.
1493  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMT users thread. on: October 08, 2014, 01:15:38 AM
Since Joshua Zipkin et al of AMT do not respond to support email/calls, has anyone directly contacted AMT's lawyers with their issues?

I'd think for folks like Rik that have still not gotten a psu Advanced Miners lawyers would be mighty concerned about that. They can't exactly turn away AMT's clients who are voicing their concerns now can they? They should be obliged to at respond putting more damning evidence in the legal chain if AMT doesn't deal with it.

Of course they can, they are paid to provide legal counsel and legal representation to their clients.  The only group of people that will provide less information about AMT than AMT themselves is their lawyers.  All you are ever getting out of them is boiler plate man.

You got a CS issue, deal with AMT, can't get a hold of AMT file a law suit then the lawyers will get involved!

Do you dumb asses really not understand how advertising works?

Your understanding of advertising is obviously soooooooooooooooooooooooo good that you were able to get the attention of the FTC.  Even got a judge to agree to an ex parte TRO that has been extended now LOL.

Yup you guys advertised yourself right out of business hahaha, great job asshole!
1495  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [12th Sept] on: October 06, 2014, 03:17:01 AM
It was true at the time the advertisement was made,  which was the point of the accusations made which I was responding to.

Numerous edits were made to the page over many months, every time leaving in place "facts" that were no longer true. Since the people editing the page knew they were no longer true statements, and they chose to leave them in place, they became BFL (Big Fat Lies).

Not only have I told you that is a false statement, the Internet Archive would seem to agree with you as well. That would make me a liar.  I wouldn't be posting false information to make myself feel better about things, would I?  No...

The first time that page was updated, the August Tapeout verbiage was removed.

Who knew?!  I'm lying?  Not like that has ever happened before*

Ya'll just go on believing your fantasies. Heh.  It's a shame you won't admit when you're wrong and you'll just continue to move your conspiracy goal posts as each one is knocked down and moved past.  This is why you are jokes and I don't take your seriously.  You have done this all along, you continue to do it now, and you will continue to do it going forward, of this I have no doubt.

Hi stupid, scamming, lying cunt, you may not be able to suck Sonny's cock as often once they throw his stupid, scamming, lying, cunt ass in jail.  Also he may need to suck some one else's cock or take it up the asshole from another person while he's inside.  This should not be considered cheating on you because he will be doing it to survive, I'm sure he still loves the way you suck him long time like the good little cocksucker you are!

If you miss having a little white dick in your mouth too much, perhaps your little retarded lap dog BCP19 can step up and fill the void left in your stupid, scamming, lying, cunt face.

Eat a bag of dicks you monumental, scamming, lying, stupid, cock sucking, cunt asshole!  Hope you wear you're big boy pants, shit is going to start piling up cock breath!

The refund part is strange... I was promised refund by mid September but the last reply was that it was postponed till late October...

I wonder what year they mean...

Why are you guys losing time with a blind idiot?

Seriously bro why would you insult blind idiots by lumping that sack of shit in with them...  not cool bro  Wink

I thought BCP was king fucking douche bag around here but sheeeeet old icetard takes the fucking cake!

Always bet on ICE (to lose!!!)

DYODD lmfao you mean like the bloke that wanted clarity on the refund process so he sent an email to the company.  That motherfucker was doing his own due diligence you fucktard....  He wanted clarification, asked the company for it and got it, now it's his fault the company LIED to him while he was preforming his due diligence.  You might want to look up the word fraud moron.

Do you have any fucking clue how pathetic you look icetard

To which the company replied :
Quote
The answer is if you buy Baby Jet for 51 BitCoins today and it does not ship, you will be refunded the 51 BitCoins you paid.

Funny that it's not Hash Fails fault they promised something sooooooooooo stupid but the victims fault for believing what the company told them during their due diligence phase...
