Monaco - Lille match will be a very competitive one I believe. Maybe both of these teams are in a troubling situation considering their placements in the standings. But they are very close to each other still and this shows that it can be really competitive. My favourite is Monaco here. I think they can beat Lille. But if I bet on this match, my first choice will be both teams to score.

For the first time after many years, Lyon got a terrible result against Rennes away in the Ligue 1. Actually they had the same points before this match. But it was very disappointing to see Lyon playing this bad. Rennes played one of their best matches recently and dominated the match too. They got a win by 4-1 which must be very satisfying for them. Lyon should be able to make up for this embarrassing loss.
Lyon had a bad defence in this match, and that contributed mainly to them conceding 4 goals.  However, it was a home match for Rennes and I never expected them to lose. They probably put up an impressive performance in the match. The ball possession was quite balanced, but Rennes had a total of 12 shot on target. Also, I noticed that Rennes didn't lost in any of their last 5 matches in Ligue 1, and are presently at the 5th position on the standings. While Lyon next match is against Marseille, which will be tough for them. Although, if they are well prepared, and also work on their defense, they xan end up winning the match.

Yeah, 12 out of 25 shots on target vs 4 out of 6 shots on target. There is a big difference here. Rennes played very strongly in this one and they must be contented now. But their next match is going to be against Montpellier. Although it is a home match for Rennes, they could struggle this time as Montpellier have a similar form to them. There is a three point gap between them too. Maybe they still destroyed Lyon with a similar scenario but they mustn't overcome by languor this time too.
1524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: November 11, 2021, 01:22:08 PM
A wounded Liverpool are going to be playing home against Arsenal on the next match week. And Arsenal can be a very tough target for them as Arsenal have been on the rise for many weeks. They have been going incredibly solid as they didn't lose in the Premier League for many weeks. Liverpool are wounded because first they got a shocking draw against Brighton by 2-2 and were beaten by West Ham by 3-2 after. But being wounded or not, the Liverpool I know will want to win the match vs Arsenal by a certain result. Both teams are likely to score as Liverpool conceded many goals in their last matches. But I think that Liverpool won't make a mistake this time and Arsenal will get their first loss after a long break.

It was really worrying to see Barcelona performing this much bad until they changed their manager. Now their old player Xavi is their manager and this could be really good news for Barcelona. Because he is one of the people who know Barcelona very good. I'm hoping to see him taking the necessary actions to make this team come back to life again. A team like Barcelona don't deserve to be like this.

After being inaugurated Xavi Hernandes imposed new rules in his squad and it is quite strict what I read in the news.

Xavi clearly wants Barcelona to be much better in his hands so with this new rule the players must be punctual and disciplined, otherwise, they will be subject to a predetermined fine, maybe this way Xavi applies will make the game even more disciplined, Or will it be pressure?

You can see the 10 rules written in this news.

https://metro.co.uk/2021/11/09/the-10-new-rules-xavi-will-enforce-on-barcelona-squad-as-part-of-new-regime-15573830/

Discipline at a certain level is always good and important for a team I think. Because if there is no discipline at a team, it is very likely for us to see in-team problems. Then, he started from a good point. But this isn't enough for them to recover of course. The thing they need the most is a proper game plan for this team. And Xavi can be one of the best people to know what is the best for his old team, Barcelona. I can't wait to see the team playing under his management.
1528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 10, 2021, 03:16:33 PM
I would say that this game looks more exciting or close on paper than it will be in reality. The gap in performance and quality of the two squads is just to big in my opinion. Yes it is true that Greece is only 4 points behind Spain and that they could still overtake them and go to the second place themself, but i just don't see that happening. The only reason why this could happen is that Spain would get nervous because they know that they can still miss the World cup next year if they lose today and then again in the last matchday against sweden, so if the game starts bad or unlucky for spain it is indeed possible that it will be a close game, but if everything goes normal Spain should be able to win this.

Yes, this match seems to be difficult for both of these teams on paper. But there is a huge quality gap between these teams now. Maybe Spain lost points against them before but the main reason was their clumsiness. Because they literally owned that match. Greece must be very grateful for not losing that match by a big gap. I don't wait for Spain to make a big mistake. They will win and secure themselves in their group.

Now, Benzema actually has passed Raul in terms of total goals scored in the Champions League by 4 goals. But when it comes to scoring at Real Madrid, Raul is still ahead of Benzema as he has 66 goals in the Champions League while Benzema has 63. But I believe that Benzema can break this record even in this season of the tournament. Because Benzema is in a great shape now and there is no hindrance for him to succeed in this.
Football during last 20 years are crazy. We have many bomb scorers like Ronaldo, Messi, Benzema, Lewandowski and now Haaland, Mbappe.

They break many records in European football. I remembered that Inzaghi and Raul were fighting for the first position in Champions League scorer table. Now they are all falling behind this generation. Unbelievable!

Two decades ago, scoring 20 to 25 goals within one season is almost cap in all leagues but now 30 or 35 goals are not impossible with many players. Are they - attacking players - becoming better or in this generation, defenders are worse?

Football is changing in time. Rules change and players also change at a fast pace. And there are very talented strikers now who can score insane amount of goals. We can take Haaland as an example. He is only 21 years old now but his performance is insanely great. I think that he is already the best scorer of these times. And in the future, maybe there will be players who will be able to score more than him in a season too.

Gerrard to Aston Villa - all but confirmed. The announcement is expected in a day or two, he's finalizing agreements with his backroom staff.

I'm really happy for him, he's making all the right steps. Maybe one day he'll be good enough for the ultimate challenge.

December 11th - save the date - Aston Villa coming to Anfield.

There were some speculations about Newcastle to get him as their new manager but they reached an agreement with Eddie Howe. As a result, Aston Villa benefited from this chance and signed Steven Gerrard. He is one of the managers who know the Premier League very well. He played in this league for so many years in the end. I think that Aston Villa made a right choice and I hope that they can get better with Gerrard.
1531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: November 09, 2021, 02:35:29 PM
The FA Cup is the second most prestigious cup in England after the Premier League title. The last champions here are Leicester. Their final match was against Chelsea and they managed to win the match by 1-0 thanks to the Tielemans' goal. And there is another interesting statistics that Arsenal won this cup 4 times in the last 8 seasons. They are very experienced in this tournament as a result. But they were eliminated in the 1/16-finals last season. I wonder if they will show their power in this season again.

Real Madrid didn't get a very comfortable win against Shakhtar Donetsk last night. They won 2-1 but it was a really competitive match. And it was definitely Benzema's night as he scored two goals and had a big role in the win. This was not the only thing important. He scored Real Madrid's 1000th goal in the Champions League in this match also. Real Madrid are the first team which scored at least 1000 goals in this tournament now.

Yes, I also found this game dangerous on the part of Real Madrid, since they had to secure themselves with a more comfortable advantage than one goal. But thanks to Benzema, everything ended well. By the way, if we talk about statistics, then in the next season (or by the end of this) Benzema will bypass Raul in the total number of goals scored for Real Madrid. Only Ronaldo will be ahead  Cool

I also noticed that Ajax's form has gone down a little in the Eredivisie considering the last two weeks especially. Maybe it is because they are focused on the Champions League more than the Eredivisie now. We can clearly see how great they are performing in the Champions League right now. They destroyed all of their opponents so far in the end. But they should be aware that they should gather themselves up here as soon as possible too. Otherwise, it seems quite probable that they can lose their lead in the standings.
1534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: November 09, 2021, 02:17:16 PM
Arsenal's big rise has been continuing for many weeks. I really appreciate their huge performance and form in the recent times. At the beginning of the season, they were in a really terrible condition. But Arteta still managed to make a big comeback and Arsenal climbed to the 5th position. It was not easy for them that's for sure. I can't say that they solved all of their problems yet. But we'll see that in the rest of the season. I hope that they can keep up the good work and end the season at a decent position.
Yes, Arsenal are slowly but consistently, even though the victory they get is only a win with a low score, but it is not a problem to continue to get points in every match. In fact, their current number of goals and concedes is the same at 13:13. So in this case basically they are quite focused on getting points even though it is a draw by one point, but with such consistency of course they will slowly continue to break through the top ranks without having to win by big scores.

I agree. It is not very important for them whether they won by one goal or a bigger gap. They mostly care about winning each of their matches one by one. At some point, Arsenal will also get a loss of course. But they have a really huge streak in the Premier League now which is a fact. They didn't lose in their last eight league matches and won six of them which is very impressive to me. But they have a tough and huge match against Liverpool away next. Let's see what they will do then.

I think that Sergio Perez was absolutely the driver of the day. Maybe its being his home Grand Prix was also very effective in this but he still had a great race. I would like to see him making big difficulties for Lewis Hamilton who was at the 2nd place being right in front of him. Perez actually got very close to Hamilton earlier than Mercedes expected. But after overtaking Norris, Hamilton managed to open the gap a little. In the last two laps, Perez dropped the gap down to a level below 1 second again but it was not enough for him to attack. But still it was a good job for him and the team.

Fenerbahce and Besiktas continue to do a terrible job lately. Besiktas lost to the leader Trabzonspor home this time by 2-1. And the winning goal came in the last minute. Especially Fenerbahce are the worst now. Before the Kayserispor match, they lost three times in a row. This match was an opportunity for them to start winning again. But Fenerbahce shocked their supporters by conceding two goals already. They had a big difficulty in getting one point and the result was 2-2 at the end.

I hope that Bayern Munich don't pull away from their opponents at some point and get another easy title this season. I'm really bored to see them being the champions all the time. I'm aware of the big quality difference among Bayern Munich and the rest of the teams in the Bundesliga. But this shouldn't be a hindrance for any other team to win the title. Just as Leicester managed to do this in the EPL with an average squad, some other team can do this here too.
