Yeah, burn them with tx fees, would love to see the market cap drop to a real value
it's a shitcoin with no future and no one but a bag holder would want to see it live.
tx fees will save the coin, what a joke.

It isn't about tx fees, it's that you can change a coin in whatever way you want, it just has to be rewarding for people to hold and sell small amounts at a time so it has liquidity in the market. Just refine stuff as you go, if you want a hardfork then you take the time of the life of the Coin, about how many people you think there are, and the amount of services and determine the time that can be given.

please start another thread and stop with the shitcoin promo...i really want to hear your opinion otherwise

Think of it like this, we are building the way a Coin should be built and it shows what the real costs are in building a Coin are. I have one more in a day and after that will doing some other stuff that can also benefit other Coins.

Everyone has now confirmed everything people have been saying about XPY all along so the real question is "what is going to be done about it?"

wow, had no idea you were Andrew vegetabile. Props on pressing this issue since the very beginning. Fuck that sociopathic coward.

Here is a quote of the message for you guys, it really just keeps pouring in. I think there are people who might help fix everything if the transparency was there.

Quote
“As the one who has started the initial public statement months ago on the initial potential issues with GAW and Paycoin, I felt it was necessary to be the one who can attempt to close this chapter in crypto eco-system. For those unaware, GAW bought an exchange and I felt it was irresponsible to have an exchange along with a crypto coin because it presented an ethical boundary that should not have been crossed where one could have the potential of owning a coin and having the means to dump it.

Within the last few months since my statement, I have learned many things about GAW. Investigations by the SEC (substantiated) along with potential investigations by FinCen, the IRS, the DHS, and others. I want to reiterate one of my statements made months ago, which stated that I foresaw something like this akin to leading up to a massive failure beyond cryptos, which now bleed into standard news sites and once again giving cryptos a black eye. The level of at the best mismanagement and at its worse potential scamming and illegal activities has reached beyond which I can once again sit back and stay idle.

The amount of promises have been daunting at best. A $20 pay floor (at the time of this writing is a magnitude less at ~$.20), the always profitable miners, acceptance with major retailers such as Walmart and Target, Paybase, and a slew of other items. Development beyond initial release was practically nonexistent for the core wallet, forcing customers to utilize online means to store coins which were susceptible to hacks and withdraw freezes.

What GAW and Josh Garza have done above amounts to potential mismanagement. But this is not the end of transgressions. For anyone following the Bitcointalk thread which is over 1600 pages now, within the last few days more details of potentially illegal actions have been exposed. These include securities fraud, money laundering, extortion, grand theft, insider trading, retaliation against whistleblowers, wire fraud, charity fraud, and I’m sure there is more I missed. This is not trolling or FUD at all, and I caution anyone calling this as such. These are serious illegal activities and should not be taken lightly.

I know that writing this exposes me to trolls from both sides of the isle, but at this point this is well beyond me. The fallout from all of this will be damaging to the entire crypto eco system and set back efforts from thousands of collective volunteers across all the communities that work tirelessly to promote cryptos in order to gain mass adoption. What Mr Garza has done was give a metaphorical middle finger to everyone in cryptos and has earned him a place alongside Mark Karpeles and Ryan Kennedy in my eyes.

What can be done to put an end to all of this? The answer is that the Paycoin community needs to put their foot down and take their coin back. I understand that the Paycoin foundation has been attempting to bring more transparency to their actions and I applaud them for their recent efforts. On the other hand at this point in time I am unaware of who had knowledge of what was going on at what point in time, so I am respectfully careful with them. Regardless, there has to be a developer within the Paycoin community that is able to make the necessary changes required in order to move past this soiled event in our history. If this is the Paycoin foundation to do this, and they do it correctly, so be it.

In order for the communities to heal from this entire debacle, the code must be forked. In my personal opinion, all prime controllers need to be removed and the coins contained within them need to be sent to a burning address. In addition, any serious bug fixes must be resolved in order for community members who own Paycoin can have a reliable offline means of storage instead of relying on an exchange to store coins (at the time of this writing I believe a wallet update was done, but I am unsure if the major bugs were fixed). Also, the community could be more involved in the direction of the coin. Demand 100% transparency from the leaders in your community, and ensure that they have substance to back up the claims they make, regardless of the leader who may be providing information.

There are more suggestions to be added here, but these items are the major one that needs to be resolved (and the most difficult). In order for the community to continue being a Paycoin community, they need to remove GAW from the picture.

I also wanted to add in my intentions here. What people fail to understand is that while the circumstances under which Paycoin was created along with GAW are trash, the community isn’t. They are already a part of the crypto eco-system whether people like it or not. In order for all of us who really wish to see cryptos grow, we should be helping those in these types of situations. That is my intentions behind this.

Lastly, I would like to end with this, a personal message to Josh Garza. On my short time here on earth I have met many people with sociopathic traits, and you fit the bill. I really have nothing else to say beyond this, and the way you have used people like toilet paper is deplorable. And just as a FYI I’m still up for the live debate you decided to run away from.

Andrew Vegetabile / TheMage”

There is only one I want to point out here, if you are going to burn Coins with XPY then it would be better to burn them through TX Fees in order to reduce the overall float rather than sending them to an unspendable address since it creates a false marketcap.

Big PayCon Announcement Coming SoonTM

Quote
The Sixth Day: PayCon on Land

Then Gawd said, "Let Us make PayCon in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Gawd created PayCon in His own image, in the image of Gawd He created him; male and female He created them. GAWD blessed them; and GAWD said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."…

The Seventh Day: Gawd Rests
Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. By the seventh day Gawd completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then Gawd blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which Gawd had created and made.

Oops,

Well I guess cat's out of the bag, OP needs time.

A verse from the book of GAWD should explain nicely.

something you might be interested in once you finish your roadmap for Squall

might turn out to be some really good advertising for a good price

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1022989.new#new

Problem is, it's another coin being passed off as tokens  Undecided Dont know how I feel about using another coin to boost myown.
i will look into it, Or I could just pay you for doing it for me, I as I have limited time  Grin

Roadmap is not going so well, I am still trying to do www.squallcoin.com, the VPS is inaccessible (problems SSH) and my provider is ill and struggling to get it done (been over a week now)

I am still working on the back end of www.bitcointalk.club, My admin team has gone awol so I am having to learn fast, lots of niggling little things that cant be left, I have to setup SSL certs on there too.

Long story short, I am on my own again! please bare with me, I really am not going anywhere.  Grin

If any of you guys can help with promotion of the coin/forum whilst I am busy in the background, let me know your game plan, I will pay for your time.

Hey Squall I was wondering about your thoughts on being a part of https://cryptoplays.com

It's run by Nixminer, who really didn't like Hashtalk so he cloned it as a spoof site (although with good security). I have been helping him with a number of different things there for the past month or so and the direction there would be to create a community of sub-forums for lots of different Coins.

lets go full PoS so we can kill the dumpers?!

Works for PayCon, it even has pretty high inflation and also increasing in price.

What about just doing a swap to a new Coin?

Also, I was wondering if EXCL has a set of forums? Do you guys want a set of forums?

LostButFound, I sent Richie a PM about 30 minutes ago, do you prefer that your coins do not get switched over? Please give me more information on what you do or do not want done.
I would do whatever is necessary as long as I don't lose my current coins. Just want to know if it's obligatory to switch them or will they somehow switch automatically because I hold them on Bittrex. I guess there wont be a new name or completely new market for the 2.0 version on Bittrex, right? Everything will stay the same there, you're only gonna change the wallet and the algo and total coin amount, that's all ?

My simple question is: Are my current coins safe on Bittrex withouth the need of doing any conversion(now or in the future) ?

First and foremost: Yes, your coins are safe on bittrex. Feel free to buy or sell coins on their market.

I'm currently talking to Richie about the logistics of the swap, whether bittrex will automatically update your balances with the new coin or if Adam will be doing it, regardless you and everyone will receive the new coins. I will keep everyone updated.

You are correct, there is not going to a new name or a new market. It's all going to stay the same, the only difference is the wallet, algo, and supply. The coins being mined via POW is greatly going to reduce any future fork issues (thank goodness).

It isn't about the POW that can alleviate fork issues, what algo did you want to use along with supply and specs?
1535  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 17, 2015, 07:49:46 AM
There is a large community around it and they still have things partially done that can work if redesigned to benefit the holders and not just one or two people. Lots of dumb people but they still have a large amount of funds they could draw from and if you took the bad actors out then they might even see some returns.
Thanks for helping man, there's no way of knowing how things will ultimately work out for XPY, but if a group of people sincerely get behind it and attack its problems (and I think that's currently happening), then it could yet become a good coin.

Even if I would want to help PayCoin directly, for the most part I can't/won't because of moral reasons and for me it's much better to work on PayCon. They asked me if I wanted to help them with the original roadmap, I asked them if they wanted to outlay some of the ideas on PayCon instead.
1536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon POS - 30 CON per Block - SuperBlock Week 10% 100% 350% 3000% on: April 17, 2015, 06:52:25 AM
Is it too late to get in btw? Or there will be more increased staking in future? And what about the price - should it be cheaper next week? Or should I buy now or there is no difference cause its incalculated already...
Anyone remember a price before increased staking? I know, I know- too lazy to research... Tongue

Jan 26th when the new OP was launched, PayCon was worth 200 Satoshi's and it's worth 800 Satoshi now but there are also approximately 150% more Coins but assuming an average Staking activity of 60% I would say on average if you were consistently Staking you would have 2.5-3 times as many Coins.

I would estimate that Coins are worth 10 times as much.

I think we are pushing the limits of how much you can Stake, if we achieved $5 a Coin then there would be 215k of sell pressure a day and the fee on transactions would be 25 cents, If you increased the Stake rate then you also increase the amount of sell pressure. Fees on the other hand also would play a big role, at higher worth you would also have larger amounts from Fees (which is what the Optimus Prime Flux Capacitors simulate).
1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon POS - 30 CON per Block - SuperBlock Week 10% 100% 350% 3000% on: April 17, 2015, 06:42:52 AM
What about that huge announcement you are planning? Amazon accepting PayCon at 20$ Soontm?
Jokes aside, do you guys have a plan how to survive post paycoin phase? I mean when Homero is jailed, Paycoin worth 1 doge etc?

Well, PayCon brings the fun back to Crypto and by having no plans and no rules you build according to how the market conditions change over time, leaving everything on the table for a change is undoubtedly the best way to go, I have never had so much fun and inspiration. There is still so much to do that it wouldn't matter if PayCoin was not around, it would still be the legit Coin pretending to be a scam, parodied from a scam pretending to be legit lol

Survival is about adoption but not only that, it's about having a use such as having our own marketplace where users can trade their items or to host events. In regards to the tech itself, it becomes about security, anonymity, storage and CPU usage, it should take no power to run and virtually no space to hold the Blockchain with everything managed by the user itself.

I installed a desktop paycon wallet on a windows pc and gonna keep it running almost 24h at work Tongue
Everything went smooth, no stupid checkpoint errors, a lot better than paycoin.
Just wanted to ask how this staking works - will I lose much due to reboots or some offline time? How important is to be online 24/7 staking?

Staking is important because it provides consensus and security for the network, the more people Staking on the network the stronger it is. The Staking is fairly straightforward, all Proof of stake Blocks reward 30 Coins per Block so at 1 minute Block times that is approximately 43,200 coins a day or currently 0.78% per day (and this reduces over time as the supply grows). Average Block to Stake currently is between 500-1000, this is the amount of Coins in one transaction sent to an address in your wallet. Lower amounts would take longer to Stake with a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 14 days when Coinage stops growing. Coinage is calculated as the number of Coins * the amount of days past.

If you have some time offline then that's ok but it's better to Stake, there can never be 100% Stake activity so you tend to always receive slightly more % growth than the money supply but if not Staking you lose slightly compared to the money supply. Staking is all Automatic, you can even change how your Blocks split when they Stake using the RPC console located in "help", then "debug window"

In the RPC console you can type "setstakesplitthreshold" followed by the minimum amount you would want your blocks to split, if you set it at 600 then you could Stake multiple smaller Blocks in a single Stake (in the same address) until over 600 or if larger than 1200, it would split your Stake into two Blocks.

We are currently running a Staking promotion giveaway where a large portion of Blocks have extra Coins added to them, if you know of a good faucet or two then be sure to ask them to add PayCon and we can setup some funding.

I think it's still pretty inexpensive to grab some Coins if you want to just buy a bit, total maketcap is somewhere around 7-10k.

Sorry it's maybe a stupid question, but I still don't understand how to stake better... So my pc is on 24/7, just having 1-2 reboots a day - will I lose something because of this interrupt (reboot)?
Does the amount of interrupts matter or it is just the whole amount of time staking that counts?
What setstakesplitthreshold should I set in my wallet for better stakes? Does it depends on how much coins I own? If so, what would be optimal setting for if I own 1000 coins? 10000 coins? and 100000 coins?
Thanks Smiley

There are no stupid questions, everyone is here to learn. You wouldn't lose anything from reboots, your Coins gain Age continuously but can only Stake if connected and would Stake Blocks sooner by being online more often for higher rewards. The amount of interrupts doesn't matter, it is the whole Staking time that counts.

I would suggest doing a bit of testing with the split threshold but generally between 600-1000 would be good to get early Stakes, if you have more Blocks you have more chances to Stake but will take longer. It depends on the size of each Block or multiple Blocks in each address such as if you had 3 Blocks (transactions received) of 400 Coins. If your split threshold was set at 300, then one of the Blocks would eventually Stake and create a Block of 430 Coins, if the split threshold was set at 500 then 2 Blocks of 400 would combine when Staking into a Block of 830. If the Split threshold was set at 150, and a Block of 400 Coins Staked, then the 430 would split into two Blocks of 215 Coins each.
