1521  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: December 13, 2016, 02:48:47 AM
It just depends if you like bet or not, because when you invest you can win but you can also lose. And when you save money you cannot lose your money. Depends your character! Grin

gambling not investment platform
gambling only playing game
to you can get profit or lost your money
in investment use bitcoin eg cloudmining, bankroll and investment gambling site and more
Wait what? I can't understand this. Are you saying that one can invest in gambling or not? Seems can't quite decide.

You can gamble and invest in the same site like BetKing. There is no such thing like a gambling site for investment only. Bankroll is an option inside the gambling site which let you invest your lovely bitcoins for a share of their profits. It's extremely risky, just like any other investment site. You might get scammed, the site gets closed by authorities, bitcoin price halves or gamblers winning much more than house bank.
And they do provide profits for you, depending on how much your investment is. Some sites provide high, others provide low, your choice.

I'm waiting to spike it for $900-$1000 btc then im in my chrismas spirit mood Smiley
I'm waiting to spike it for $900-$1000 btc then im in my chrismas spirit mood Smiley

Lets hope on that it would be awesome if this would happen, it could let me win a lot of money without any doubts!!
im actually having a feeling that we could actually get $1000 barrier per bitcoin and im happy if it could stay as is like that because it means theres a lot of investors having an interest in bitcoin. still this year is the best than last year because we actually hit the $800 barrier per bitcoin and we should happy because it already happen who else sensing that bitcoin could actually hit $1000 ? maybe this christmas or next year maybe june/ july still waiting on that time Cheesy
I fell that bitcoin is going to jump over $1000.

you think 1000 is too much?

Yeah, honestly, I think $1000 is way too much. Besides, why should we (bitcoiners) be happy about such a spike in price? Everything that pumps fast, dumps faster. So, if bitcoin price rise from $780 to $1000, it will crash to $600s maybe even $500s, something good for buyers, but not for investors, as the price will take much time to reach that $780 again.
1523  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you eat your Mother to stay alive ? on: December 13, 2016, 12:17:14 AM
As I said before and I say it again, NO. Either it's my mother or any other person, I would rather drink from the sea or chew some tree leaves than dishonouring someone's dead body by eating it, even if it was a "survival" situation. This would vary from person to another, but personally, for me, it's about one's will.

So you would rather die, than "dishonour" someone's dead body by eating it. Resulting in two dead people rather than just one.

If I was the person who had just died, that you were refusing to eat, I would find the refusal of you to eat me very disrespectful. If I was the mother of the person who had just died, I would find your refusal to eat the person very disrespectful.

Why sacrifice your own life for a dead piece of meat?
Because I know there are some options in front of me and eating a dead body would be their last. If it was a plane crash on an island, most islands have trees, weed and plants, I would go there (eating those). Not making my first option; chewing someone's arm or thigh.

If I was on a ship/boat with a dead body, I would look around me for fish or seafood before eating that person. At least, I could tell myself afterwards that I tried my best to survive and could live with what I did for the rest of my life.
1524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I use Bitcoin ??? on: December 13, 2016, 12:06:07 AM
I use bitcoin because it's faster, smarter and more secure. I'm very skeptical of other cryptocurrencies as they can easily get hacked, something like ETH's DAO. Cryptocurrencies simply come and go either for profits, trading, scamming or developing. But bitcoin is the best of all digital currencies and we all know it.

1527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's be honest, how many of you here actaully read the whitepaper? on: December 12, 2016, 02:07:20 PM
bitcoin whitepaper was one of the first things that i have read back in the days i was a newbie in bitcoin and was getting to know it all better. it is not the most informative thing to read though!

i prefer to read the bitcoin wiki for a more detailed information about bitcoin.
I think it's for people who would be interested in knowing how bitcoin ecosystem works scientifically. And I wouldn't really recommend it for newbies, though. They won't understand bitcoin as if they read its introduction on its official website Bitcoin.org.
1528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's be honest, how many of you here actaully read the whitepaper? on: December 12, 2016, 02:01:48 PM
To be honest, I'm still new to bitcoin world (just 2 months old), so I didn't know what whitepaper is. I'm glad that you pointed that whitepaper out (kept seeing the word "whitepaper" here on posts but didn't know what it is). So I think I will read it carefully because I love knowing everything about bitcoin even if it has some scientifically complicated mathematics (it's not that hard, is it?) Grin Grin.
1529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: December 11, 2016, 09:59:46 PM
Gambling is very addictive because of 5 scientific (psychological) reasons:

  • Gamblers think; the longer they play, the more outcome they would gain.
  • Seeing/Watching very few cases like lottery winners gives them a belief that they have a great chance to win like those rare success cases/stories.
  • What is called gambler's fallacy; which gamblers keep investing in a game, even after suffering chain of losses because they believe they are due for a win.
  • When gamblers start winning, they believe that they have beaten the odds and can influence the results. What is called Illusion of Control.
  • Losing motivates gamblers more than winning meaning; a gambler would be more agonized/sad about losing an amount of money than being happy about winning that same amount of money.

1530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: December 11, 2016, 08:21:11 PM
Can Bitcoin or any other altcoin help poor countries?
how? what can be done?

Well Bitcoin is not created for really poor countries where the basic requirements are lacking, since bitcoin requires knowledge of computer and having access to computer and internet in a really poor country does not seem possible. Even if they get access to bitcoins where will they spend it?
Why do most people here assume that one needs a PC to use bitcoin?

I'm using bitcoin, making all transactions and work using my smartphone (except mining, obviously). I'm just using PC for some bitcoin related jobs like CoinTasker, writing on Bitcointalk.org or Trading. And Believe me, a lot of poor people in my country are buying Smartphones to surf the internet and discover the world of technology (Although, they don't even have something to eat!). So, in my opinion, I think they only lack the knowledge of knowing what bitcoin is.

When it comes to bitcoin reputation in my country, I can say that it's living in oblivion (something that I'm really grateful for, at the moment because our government is bloody stupid). So you are right. Even if the poor obtained the knowledge and basic requirements of bitcoin, they won't be able to spend it.

1532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: December 11, 2016, 07:53:35 PM
bitcoin does not really compete with other investments.
That doesn't make any sense.
Quote
first of all it is very different then the other so it is not really something you can compare.
Not all "the other". There are about 10-12 altcoins which are derived from bitcoin, something like Zetacoin. And YES you can compare between bitcoin and altcoins (apparently, you don't know what altcoin is). Altcoin is an abbreviation of bitcoin alternative, So how can't you compare something that is alternating with another?!
Quote
secondly bitcoin is not a company or something like this. nobody is in change and nobody is directly profiting. like gold bitcoin does not mind what happens with itself.

I got no clue what you are talking about here. Besides, bitcoin doesn't have a physical existence like gold, but a lot of features of bitcoin make it over the top if compared with gold. Simple link:

there are people that are mining and/or trading gold or bitcoin and there are competing, but not bitcoin itself.
And why do you think they are competing over bitcoin while bitcoin (as you claim) "does not mind what happens with itself"?

1536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: December 10, 2016, 05:27:27 PM
This time I chose bitcoin as financial future in this world. bitcoin could be money in the future. in the future we have a variety of advanced technologies, so bitcoin could answer all the things that we need at the moment.

Bitcoin could be money in future? It is a form of money now, digital money but money none of the less. Bitcoin won't takeover all money services and it doesn't need too, it just needs to live along side.
I think by saying "bitcoin could be money in the future" he meant that bitcoin would widespread in the world that people would use it as a currency for all their daily needs (like our local currencies now). But sure, bitcoin wouldn't strike every aspect of world economy. Yet, it would be really the future of money.
1537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When did you begin using Bitcoin? on: December 10, 2016, 12:42:10 AM
I started using Bitcoin a little over a year ago. If I had known the currency before, I would probably have invested to acquire a large sum. I think that in the early years few people had contact with Bitcoin, this is probably due to the fact that there was not much publicity for the currency at the time.
That's right. People were very skeptic about bitcoin in its early years because they thought it was a scam but then as the years passed and bitcoin's reputation arose, they started to enter its world slowly and cautiously.

It reminds me of The Guardian article that I read when I first joined the world of Bitcoin. It was about a Norwegian man who bought $27 worth of bitcoin in 2009 (equalled 5,000 bitcoin at that time) and completely forgot about them, until the widespread media coverage of bitcoin in 2013 jogged his memory then he discovered that his 5,000 bitcoin worth $886,000 (damn lucky!).
1538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: December 10, 2016, 12:12:13 AM
Bitcoin is not anonymous. Every transaction made can be traced from the sender to the receiver. Transactions are stored publicly and permanently on the Blockchain network. The only anonymous thing is the user's identity, but the identity of users can be revealed through their IP addresses as they can be logged. That's why users are being advised to hide their IP addresses using a service like TOR.

Apparently, the noobs who are crying about Bitcoin being used for illegal activities due to its anonymity and the noobs who are using it for illegal purposes, didn't read the fourth title on the introduction page of Bitcoin official website. (and don't think that governments don't have the proper tools and equipments to trace those "illegal dealers", you know the media, they always love excuses)

And what is so special about the moon? There are some places on Earth that would blow anyone's mind other than going to a flat grey non-lively ground with no modernity at all. If I want to live the experiment, I could simply get a 3D/digital TV and watch any moon expedition.

Oh, the wealthy are simply looking for a place to go, so that when the crash comes, they won't get executed by the masses, simply for being rich.

Cool
Oh, I got your point Grin Grin Grin Grin.

You mean sort of like that movie The Purge?
The last one Election year was my favorite. Cheesy
Totally awesome  Cheesy Cheesy.
