The path to $100,000 BTC

-> Apple launch own payments system

-> PayPal sign posts to the market it is doing something to counter with BTC

-> More traders take notice of BTC

-> Samsung, thinks it needs to enter the game with BTC.

-> Sony has to keep up and launches BTC for gamers

-> Every trader takes a stake in BTC

-> Pension funds buy as much BIT and COIN as they can get their hands on

-> Warren Buffett changes his mind on BTC

-> Retail investors buy as much BTC, BIT and COIN as they can

-> Microsoft thinks about buying all the BTC, but decides to create MSN Coin

-> We [who have BTC] all live happily ever after

-> Bitcoin will be used as global reserve currency

I've read it 10 times. Although I'm sceptic with the last point...  Wink

Made a minor edit. I think reads better now.

Thanks.
You're welcome (did an extra addition)

FUNDAMENTALS UPDATE:

EBay/PayPal moving towards Bitcoin integration via Braintree and Coinbase:

https://www.braintreepayments.com/blog/goodbye-passwords-one-touch-hello-bitcoin
http://blog.coinbase.com/post/96987622472/braintree-partners-with-coinbase-to-accept-bitcoin

- Simplified, secure payments via BTC with any merchant in the USA will soon be possible.

- Coinbase probably figures in Ebay's growth strategy.

I think the satoshi FUD is strongly related to the paypal announcement.
These markets seems to be manufactured.
This whole situation reminds me of the Silk Road event last time.

I bet the price of bitcoin will rise very soon.
Too bad I already went all-in weeks ago.

At least it is clear that the 'I am not Dorian' post was not by Satoshi. That made no sense at all.
Yes it did. It was totally true. The hacker was not Dorian or Satoshi.

Took 3 days to download the blockchain for gods sake.

Nobody forced you to be a full node.
Just use multibit if you don't want to download the blockchain.
Also for android there are light wallets which do not require to download the entire blockchain.

Even www.bitcoin.org advises to use multibit

We made it guys. It doesn't mean necessarily we're going 100 up tonight (we would go 200$ up in good old Gox days though) but that's it - Bitcoin is going mainstream.

we haven't done shit until we achieve world reserve status.

have a seat it might be a while.
Damn it, do I really have to wait 2 more years? Wink

Pardon me ladies and gentlemen is this link: http://www.coindesk.com/paypal-video-sparks-rumors-potential-bitcoin-plans/ indicates that we go

Oh, No!
Is it really happening!
Quick, where is Ron Paul?

Oh my god, I'm so excited. Glad I was all in already for 3 weeks.
Today I only found 5 Euro on my bank account  Grin Grin Grin

Vanavond toch iets verder ingedoken.
What the fuck!

Bedankt voor de melding.

This is the third major wall on bit stamp alone in ~10 days, totaling about 7000btc.

Include bitfenix and its more than double that.

Yet we still have people saying moon.
On the other hand someone very patiently eats them...
I've noticed a 0.9BTC willy bot at bitstamp. It's there for some days/weeks

There is no way to define propeprty without reference to some government.
You should try to take my silver coins.

1570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's usage spread on: September 06, 2014, 07:31:19 PM
We need to teach people about btc, most people i talk to dont know about it yet.

Don't push it, only teach when they ask.
Bitcoin should spread like a natural virus, not like synthetic cancer.

If it spread naturally, it will succeed.

i agree that we don't must force people to use btc, but teach about it for me it's not a bad idea. How can they ask if they even don't know that btc exists?
That's true, maybe I'm traumatized by my evangelist parents Wink
1571  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: September 06, 2014, 07:28:17 PM

Bitcoin is nearing 6 years old. The World Wide Web was launched to the public-at-large in 1993. By the 6-7th year, the dot.com bubble had a capitalization that was 183% of the USA GDP!!!

Bitcoin is 1000x smaller phenomenon and yet the WWW is 10x bigger by now, so relatively speaking Bitcoin is 10,000x smaller.

Governments get tax by WWW,  but will lose money by Bitcoin. That is why governments did not like bitcoin, but push WWW .
That is the difference.

Thanks to WWW I know that tax is forced payment of currency to produce demand of notes we call money so that they can practice all their hobbies and rob us from our stored energy.
I don't think governments are very happy anymore about WWW because we are able to find information ourself instead of them having the sole right of choosing the information to store in our heads.

In other words, WWW could have been invented by satoshi (or maybe it is?)

August 31, Apple news of possibly supporting NFC in next iPhone release seemed to affect BTC on the price charts (490's to 470's).

Re: http://www.cnet.com/news/apple-amex-teaming-on-iphone-6-payments-system-report-says/

Is the price built in already?  Or will we take another dive going into Tuesday's announcement of the iPhone 6?

Apple coming up with a mobile payment solution is overall actually good news for Bitcoin imho. People will have less fear using their mobile device for payments when Apple succeeds and Bitcoin will become just another option and not the "funny internet money for hackers" with the advantage of not needing a CC or trusting a third party.

Funny how you turn my bearish thoughts about this apple thing into bullish thoughts.
Hopefully not confirmation bias Wink

Once I dead a google on "truth" and ended up at wikipedia.
I came to the conclusion that there is no absolute truth. There are 20 different flavours of truth lies and only one truth.

Pretty depressing isn't it.

there can only ever be one truth.

No, we both can have different truths.
We live too short to check whether you or I was right.
Read the wikipedia, you'll get depressed, I promise  Wink

Which is why I said in my post: we will eventually come back to first principles. Do we believe that a central authority protects us from harm more often than it causes harm to us. I am okay with agreeing to disagree on this point.

Yes, we all need gubmint to protect us from evil! /s

At some point I noticed that some of the balls climbed up the walls of the plastic container when it was shaken, apparently because they picked up static charge and repelled each other.  Static electricity from friction and and repulsion of electrically charged objects is usually demonstrated with bits of light insulating stuff; I was a bit surprised to see it happen with relatively heavy and conducting objects.  It seemed as a good a subject as any for my first YouTube video.

I liked it, might try it myself too sometimes. I've got plenty steel balls,.. I mean real steel balls, like you have. I really mean those metallic steel balls, physically. Damn it.
