161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thomas Glucksman: Bitcoin could reach 50k$ by December of 2018! on: April 02, 2018, 12:39:00 PM
-snip-

Honestly, I've had enough of these *insert big name here* trying to foresee the price of Bitcoin. There isn't a prediction market going on around here so they can stop giving out predictions like this already.
With that said, everything is possible with the price of Bitcoin. Right now we're close to 7k and could reach as high as 25k just on a bullish April run while more impositions through the G20 summit could see the prices plummet once again.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the bank glad to support cryptocurrency trade? on: April 02, 2018, 12:19:39 PM
Answering the question on the title, it is easily a conflict of interest as banks stand aligned towards centralised model of working while cryptocurrencies are typically known to follow the decentralised model.
Why exchanges do not accept wire could be for a couple of different reasons of their own. One good reason would be the pain of maintaining offline records of all transactions for tax purposes. Another one would be the unsustainable fees which can't entirely be put on the user's side of things.
163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think there is a lot of money to be made in Bitcoin Acccounting? on: April 01, 2018, 07:24:26 PM
There are no set rules for taxes on cryptocurrencies and each country is looking at a different approach on imposing taxes. I'm sure the accountants who go through this haven't yet received enough information regarding what they should be doing when they see crypto income as a source. Yet, I believe when an actual set of rules will be laid down on taxing cryptos, these bunch of people will make big bucks as they will be helping out the sharks by availing rebates and what not.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you profit from airdrop? whats your biggest airdrop of all time ? on: April 01, 2018, 06:26:44 PM
Do you value from airdrop? because i got airdrop but the fee cost more than the coin value. and whats your biggest airdrop of all time since you start signing up.

Personally, I do not participate in airdrops due to the sheer reason that they will be worth nothing after all of the airdropped stages have finished and contracts will not allow me to sell them as and when I receive tokens. Would rather consider investing my time somewhere else instead of having to go through the tedious process of registering for one.
The biggest airdrop that I have witnessed would be DeepOnion. Despite the many rounds of airdrops, the token has retained its value and its backers have shown a lot of support while the devs have been doing a great job in backing it up.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What’s Going In Japan Cryptocurrency & Why Is It Not Good? on: April 01, 2018, 03:50:03 PM
With all the latest security issues that has been surrounding exchanges and a lot of user funds falling in the wrong hands due to these mistakes, it is correct on the part of a country like Japan which has been a major player from the beginning of cryptocurrencies to effectively impose regulations on them in an attempt to step up the level of security.
166  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you trade for money or emotional satisfaction? on: April 01, 2018, 12:23:51 PM
I do not understand the entire idea of trading for 'emotional satisfaction'. Just going out and hanging out with people and probably hooking up with a few would give me that instead of the money I would be making online. For most of the part, the price fluctuation could seem to be an emotional roller coaster ride but staying in the profit zone becomes the priority as monetary requirement would overshadow the emotional feelings of an individual.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the Crypto market collapse on: April 01, 2018, 11:17:34 AM
Goldman Sachs back at it again with their stupid predictions. This was the same investment banking company which called out that Bitcoin would be reaching $100k by the end of the year. Since we have witnessed the Bitcoin-altcoin market to be closely related as per previous trends, even altcoins should be making the glory run along with Bitcoin as per their previous prediction.
Altering stances very often based on the current market statistics seems like a vague move on the part of the company trying to manipulate the headlines in an attempt to indirectly control the 'news' market.
168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questionable wealth because of Crypto on: April 01, 2018, 10:56:36 AM
What if I become rich because of BTC do you think they will believe if I say that its bitcoin that making me rich? How will I explained to them?

Tell the authorities that it was a result of patience, perseverance and your stern determination to HODL for a very long time despite of the many factors which questioned the sustainability of Bitcoin price over the years. There are already so many early adopters who have turned into millionaires and subject to questioning from the authorities of their respective countries but surely would've gotten the benefit of the doubt after having shown proof of early investments.
169  Economy / Service Discussion / CoinMarketCap Foolin' Around on: April 01, 2018, 10:06:22 AM
It is the 1st of April today and we're getting nothing less than the best dose of people/websites fooling around for the day. From theymos fooling around by adding a lot of new categories to individual profiles on the forum like Politeness, Imagination and much more.

CoinMarketCap decided to pull their ace up from their sleeve today on an inauspicious day and delivered nothing less than a top quality meme by showing conversions in 'LAMBOS'  Grin
Did some basic calculations and found out that they priced 1 LAMBO at approximately $200k and all the conversions make the site look sick overall after clicking on the lambo.

EDIT : HERE is an archive of the page so we can remember have a good laugh anytime later.
170  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Bloodbath to End on: April 01, 2018, 09:49:56 AM
-snip-

Good to see all the pluses making up the list and this means only one thing, Bitcoin and altcoin markets will bounce back and come back to its former days of glory. The year has been a hard one for cryptocurrencies in general but all of the good news will definitely stop the markets from a further tumble.
171  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Selling items online for Bitcoin or crypto on: April 01, 2018, 09:33:21 AM
Accepting cryptocurrencies for selling goods online on Craigslist or similar platforms is good enough as long as the buyer is ready to pay in one of the cryptos you are ready to accept. This is much safer compared to PayPal as there are no possibilities of chargebacks or any similarities. Alternatively, eBay and its rivals should start accepting cryptocurrency as a definite payment processor which will only improve their overall website usage.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest in coins used for live stream of peoples lifes ? (+18) on: April 01, 2018, 09:12:06 AM
What do you think about participating an ico and you can use your tokens to view LIVE your favourite vlogger , randoms people lifes and (+18) videochat girl lifes in their apartments and favourite pornstarts?

Seems like a project that would fall through any time between the initial idea till the final execution because of all the uncertainties involved. Given that this is done after gaining consent from the people who will be streamed live, there wouldn't but users sitting their ass watching other peoples' live 24x7 as it would totally pointless after some time.
Also, I'm sure there was a similar project like this that didn't go well enough so this wouldn't be the first of a kind idea...
173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Strategy: how to avoid fraud and pick less risky initial coin offerings on: April 01, 2018, 08:46:04 AM
Searching for ideal ICOs to invest in is a seemingly hard task in a world where there are new projects coming up on a daily basis. Extensive research regarding the project comes as a first with information regarding the the creators of the project, the developers and understanding the growth potential.
174  Economy / Economics / Re: How much do you have to profit in Bitcoin to beat other investments? on: April 01, 2018, 08:00:42 AM
Let us date back to the pre-Bitcoin age where most of the investment options would be stocks and gold/silver. Profits would be minimal even on the long term as price fluctuations would mainly be a result of variance in supply and demand and other smaller influences. Today, we're looking at an age of digital currencies being on the top of the food chain in the investment block, providing much bigger growth potential compared to orthodox investments.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin digital gold? on: March 26, 2018, 05:57:43 PM
Thiel touts the No. 1 cryptocurrency for its size and its ability to compete with gold as a safe haven, saying at the Economic Club of New York:

“I would be long bitcoin, and neutral to skeptical of just about everything else at this point with a few possible exceptions. There will be one online equivalent to gold, and the one you’d bet on would be the biggest,” said Thiel.

Terming it as 'digital gold' could be a bit of an understatement for Bitcoin as it has outgrown the likes of gold and diamond by a huge margin. We knew about the existence of gold from centuries, dating back to the BC era and yet it has shown barely any significant growth compared to Bitcoin which has grown in a huge fashion just under a decade.

Bitcoin controls more than 40% of cryptocurrency market cap compared to almost one-fifth for Ethereum, as per Coin Market Cap data cited in CNBC.

Being the first of its kind, it definitely deserves to be there as the number one until something better comes up and takes over, which is highly unlikely. Ethereum has a long way to go as far as overthrowing Bitcoin as the #1 crypto is concerned.
176  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price "drop" on: March 26, 2018, 05:38:10 PM
It is only the panic sellers and thoughtless individuals that are actually falling for this seemingly unconditional downtrend of Bitcoin that has been stretching across the weeks. The thoughtful and persevering ones are just holding on as usual and continue to smile doing so as the drought period is going to come to an end very soon. Meanwhile, prices are pretty much on the lower side of things making it a bit of an awkward scenario for the holders who haven't seen a similar situation in quite a while.
177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do's for trade in recent downtrend??? on: March 26, 2018, 04:48:04 PM
The most important thing while in a down trending market is to keep your head high and continue to show faith in your investment (given that its worth the faith). The altcoin market cannot bleed for long and the green days are always bound to come sooner or later. Getting carried away by unnecessary and baseless FUD could be the nail in the coffin, leading to a panic selling scenario.
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ten years later on: March 26, 2018, 04:26:59 PM
We live in a world where even the near future, like tomorrow becomes filled with uncertainty and it becomes very hard to predict what is coming. With respect to Bitcoin, we have been witnessing a lot of price fluctuations over the past few months and this comes as no surprise as it has been like a trend for BTC to have high and lows all the while.
Considering we would be closing in on the maximum supply of 21 million Bitcoins, it could be priced anywhere between tens of thousands upto even a million per coin and this, yet again is a wide range of speculation.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: France’s Finance Minister Plans ICO Regulations in Bid to Attract Crypto Startup on: March 26, 2018, 04:03:49 PM
Phew! Finally a country got in the right mindset of being called as an 'ICO' or startup hub based on cryptocurrencies. This move will definitely provoke more EU nations to change their perspective towards opening up to ICOs, making a jurisdictional framework which govern the rules of how the entire process is carried out in a hassle free method, while benefiting both the investors as well as the project.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOOGLE hasn't banned BITCOIN advertising on: March 26, 2018, 03:39:01 PM
Here's what Google said:

https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/7648803

My first comment is that there's never been any BTC advertisement. Who would pay for it? The BTC's foundation? This board's webmaster? As there's no corporation, nor an individual owning BTC, there can't be any kind of advertising. The only ads I've ever seen were for lousy ICOs, shitcoins, trading and exchanges websites where you can make a deposit but not a withdrawal, trading consultants who screw you with the promise to show you how not to get screwed, and super safe crypto-wallets where your private keys are automatically sent to a smart angel in East Russia. Google wants to ban all that? I say thanks Google!

For now, the date on top says June 2018 making it seem indecisiveness from Google's part. Google ads is a huge market for the company not only in terms of money but also the massive traffic it attains. Redirecting these to a shitcoin or a scam ICO could mean disaster for Google itself as it would be sending lambs to the slaughter.
About BTC advertising, why does it need advertising at all? We're already seeing Bitcoin at #1 from the beginning of the cryptocurrency era and every mouth in world has the word at the tip of its tongue.
