No, I still have not got the answer of this  Tongue

Why it's needed?
I am curious to know the reason for the sorting. I guess this creates two possible metric...

1. Sorting by total number of merits a topic received (including it's replies)
2. Sorting by total number of merits only the topic post have

The reason is to quickly surf quality posts. Simple.
163  Other / Meta / Re: Can we please have a way to sort threads in a sub-forum as per merit? on: September 26, 2018, 07:20:44 PM
Why it's needed? There are no merit sorting however...

164  Local / India / Re: Has anyone else recieved notice from Bank? on: September 26, 2018, 06:09:47 PM
Hello, I have recieved a caution advice notice just a few days back from my bank(HDFC) mentioning all my bitoin transactions dated back to 2013. Has anyone else noticed similar notice?  It also said ""revert within 30 days from the date of this letter or the bank will be constrained to restrict transactions in your account without any further reference to you"". Does that mean I have to write them back?

You are under surveillance. Move your money while you still can and close your bank account.

167  Other / Meta / Re: Cloudflare enabled onion services and Bitcointalk on: September 22, 2018, 06:28:19 PM
Cloudflare introduced onion integration - https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-onion-service/
Quote
This enables customers to continue detecting bots using IP reputation while sparing humans the trouble of clicking on CAPTCHA street signs over and over again.
IP reputation of almost all Tor nodes are bad. Will CloudFlare allow those bad nodes to go through without CAPTCHA? I doubt...

Bitcointalk uses Cloudflare already. Can we get .onion service and get rid of this recaptcha madness?
I agree its a pain in the ass. Complained about it before - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2419389.0.

- There is no complete ban on VCs.
- RBI not against Blockchain.

175  Local / India / Re: The final court battle for India’s cryptocurrency exchanges begins on: September 16, 2018, 05:38:59 PM
I am really tired of these blood sucking financial system, banks and intermediarys who give no shit about anything but.somehow fill their own pockets..special mention goes to RBI for being a puppet.

BTC is the only solution to.handle.corruption and wipe out.every exploitation and bring true.financial.freedom.

You are living in a dream world. Bitcoin will solve nothing. Eradicating corruption requires systemic change.
If Bitcoin succeeds, corrupt politicians would line their pockets with bitcoins.

May be his expectation is a bit more than the reality. But, Bitcoin & Blockchain will definitely bring in more transparency to our system. Transparency is something, our current establishments want to avoid. Hence, we're seeing the resistance. But, always remember this...

176  Local / India / Re: Is this the END of bitcoin and crypto in India? on: September 04, 2018, 08:23:57 PM
With latest update on zebpay-app  it looks like zebpay is closing down their operations in India soon due to the RBI directives. Well the writing was on the wall since last few months as RBI and Indian Govt maintained their stern attitude towards the crypto in general.  With blanket ban on crypto to cash conversion it become very difficult for bitcoin and crypto community to survive.
If, for you, Crypto in India meant ZebPay, then yes. AFAIK, govt has no problem with Crypto. They're merely restricting Regulated Financial Institutions to deal in Crypto. Join alternatives like https://Bisq.network and u are all good. Smiley
177  Local / India / Re: crytpocurrency on: August 16, 2018, 06:48:19 PM
Why india ban crypto
Crypto is not banned in India. Regulated financial institutions are barred from participating in the Crypto space.

179  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Creating private key from 2 different RNG:s? on: August 05, 2018, 04:51:41 PM
The reason that you don't use it online is that the owner of the site could introduce a backdoor. But if you download it, then you're exposed to basically the same risk. If bitaddress.org is compromised when you download it, then the version you download could just as easily contain a backdoor.
Why would anyone download it from bitaddress.org? Is not it standard to download from https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org, where the last commit took place on Dec 25, 2016?
