161  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow Bitcoin Wallet on: April 09, 2024, 02:49:23 PM
Now the problem is that it takes almost one day to download the wallet while filesize is up to 98 MB. For some reasons, their servers don't let me to download it with normal internet speed and limit my download speed significantly.
I just downloaded it now and it took roughly 20 minutes to download with my personal internet connection. I do not think it is their server limiting your download speed and surely not intentionally. Could be an overload on available connections on the web server or some other reason.
Try clearing your cache and try again.
20 minutes is too much for 98 MB file unless you are using a cheap DSL internet with low speed and I personally use fiber optic and my speed is 100 Mbps. It should be downloaded in seconds instead of hours.
I finally managed to download it in one hour instead of a day. Thanks god, speed improved a little.

Maybe you experienced some temporary or local Github connectivity issues. And nobody except you can know what's going on in your local network.

20min for the download of ~100MB doesn't sound any fast either, but Eleutheria didn't mention any details of personal internet connection. Such a download time could happen when you only have something like 1MBit/s downstream.
Today I tried to download Sparrow Wallet again and the speed was improved but there were limits on download. There is definitely a problem on their side. I'll try to contact them and let them know about this issue.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: April 09, 2024, 02:19:31 PM
Al Hilal and Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League had an extremely exciting match that was much more bone-chilling. In this most competitive match both teams tried hard but Al Hilal team was successful, winning 2-1. Anyway, the game was very competitive between the two teams, but Al Nasir's team tried hard but could not bring the game to a consensus and they lost. And Cristiano Ronaldo's red card it really angered the audience because no one expected a player like Ronaldo to get a red card. I didn't watch the game till the end, but Ronaldo's red card in the 86th minute is difficult, otherwise maybe attacking until the last minute could have leveled the game. But Al Hilal team is in the best form in the current season, and they are strong enough to win the title, and maybe they will be champions in the coming days.

It's a shame that once a legendary footballer who was always competing against Messi, a footballer who was playing in Real Madrid and was the star of this team, a person with the most Instagram followers... It's a shame that he acts like a kid. He wanted to punch the referee in the face. If it was once, that's okay, that sometimes happens and we all get angry but I watch his matches and his these actions are getting very regular. He needs to retire, his time is gone and he shouldn't get mad at others about it.

On the other hand, Ronaldo's behavior in this match was unfortunate because he elbowed one of the Al-Hilal players and we know that the Al-Hilal defender was repeatedly caught on camera provoking the star players. We still remember how Ali Albulayhi's behavior provoked Lionel Messi during the match against Argentina or some time ago during the Asian Cup match against South Korea when he behaved impolitely towards Son Heung Min.

So it is not surprising that he knew that Ronaldo was a very emotional person, so he carried out this provocative action and made Ronaldo get the red card. Well, despite all that, Al-Hilal managed to overthrow Al-Nassr and advance to the final round of the super cup.
Yes, he was provoked but he should keep in mind that he has to be more mature and should not react to provocations, especially on matches like this that are against one of the biggest rival of your team, red card in games like this are very dangerous because your team then plays with 10 players. Everyone knows what Ronaldo is very emotional and everyone plays on his nerves, including fans too. They chant Messi all the time to drive Ronaldo crazy. Saudi fans are brutal.

I'm just interested to see who will win the 3 ETH as I wasn't able to see it live because of timezone difference but here it is,

~snip~

And it will be awesome if he is a member of our community.

In any case, congrats to him, value at $10,000, that is a huge win and we also have to thank of course Metawin for another successful promotion.
Someone called Nobody.eth won 3 Ethereums. This user is a member of metawin since 2022 and I can't find anyone with this name on Bitcointalk, so I think he is not our community member but there is a chance he is our member and uses a different username.
This is event's link - https://metawin.com/competition/26835/

Btw there is a very interesting event that ends soon. You are able to wn 500 $SOL by collecing points and rules are very simple, I'll quote it from their Twitter.

165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: April 07, 2024, 12:32:18 PM
JUST IN: 🇸🇻 President Bukele announces a plan to provide 5,000 free passports as part of program to attract highly skilled scientists, engineers, doctors, artists, and philosophers from abroad.
Source Link
They will facilitate relocation by offering 0% taxes and tariffs on moving assets.
Today (Bitcoin News) a news has been published that El Salvador will distribute 5000 visas to users in Bitcoin for free. This is a good sign and I like this strategy a lot, every strategy that Nayib Bukhele has adopted has been successful.
Bukele is very serious about his country, it's almost impossible these days to find a dictator who takes care of his country, every dictator only abuses people. Bukele is really the cool one. Highly skilled scientists, engineers, doctors and people from other major fields help the country in developing, they are the core who drive countries forward and improve our lives but I am still frightened about people who plan to move in El Salvador because it's a very dangerous country. According to travel.state.gov, El Salvador is a Level 3 (Reconsider Travel) country.
166  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Future of online poker - PokerFi on: April 07, 2024, 11:36:51 AM
According to a domain name, it looks like PokerFi is a Brazilian project. I tried to visit pokerfi.com.br but I can't access the website, it gives me error 1016, origin DNS error. Also two of your ANN thread images are missing and please fix that.

This coin has been here since 2021 as we can see in https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/pokerfi/

I'm just curious, why is this altcoin is not yet listed in a decent exchange? And here they now make an ANN thread, why it had not happen in the past.
Can OP tell more about this project as this looks like a dead project that was recently reborn to me, please correct me if I'm wrong.
This coin ranks #4664 on Coinmarketcap, basically a dead coin, so no normal exchange would list it but as you mentioned, it's really curious that this project exists since 2021 and this is the first time we see ANN thread.

OP you are very welcome, I can't wait to access your website, register and start playing poker because you have a very good Poker software. Crypto community really needs a good poker website.
For anyone being curious, here is the video of how their poker game looks: https://twitter.com/i/status/1726260651444556066
167  Economy / Gambling / Re: House Edge on: April 07, 2024, 10:45:06 AM
Both Stake and BCH.games have popular games such as Mines, Tower, Crash, and Target (notably referred to as Limbo on Stake). Stake's platform indicates a house edge of 1% for these games, whereas BCH.games lists a house edge of 2%.

Given that both platforms games are provably fair, I'm curious about the source of the discrepancy in house edge rates. Specifically, does the increased house edge at BCH.games stem solely from the monetary requirements to win (e.g., needing to roll above a 50.99 on BCH.games for a 2x win in Target)?

How does this variation in house edge impact other games like Mines, Tower, and Crash? Are the dynamics similar, or is there another mechanism at play influencing the difference in house edge between the two platforms?
House Edge gives casinos an advantage over you. 1% house edge means that casino has a mathematical (1%) advantage over you and casino is a guaranteed winner for long-term. 2% house edge simply means that it has more advantage over you and long-term casino with 2% house edge will collect more profits than casino with 1% house edge.
If you want to have fun and long-lasting gambling experience, it's better to choose casino with the lowest house edge. 1% is the standard and you'll rarely find any casino with lower house edge.

Mines, Towers, Crash, etc... You should manually check their house edge on casino or contact their support.
168  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow Bitcoin Wallet on: April 07, 2024, 10:12:49 AM
Since this thread looks like an ANN thread of Sparrow Wallet, I'll ask this question here instead of creating a new topic.
I want to download Sparrow Bitcoin Wallet from sparrowwallet.com/download for Windows. I choose the following wallet ->> Type Windows Installer (7+); Link Sparrow-1.8.4.exe <-- Now the problem is that it takes almost one day to download the wallet while filesize is up to 98 MB. For some reasons, their servers don't let me to download it with normal internet speed and limit my download speed significantly. Does anyone know where is a good alternative to download this wallet? Or do you also experience download limit from Sparrow? I have no idea why that happens.
169  Other / Meta / Re: Can Grin become a payment method again? on: April 07, 2024, 09:19:18 AM
Everyone who tried to support Grin lost their ass and probably wondered why the forum tried to support it in the first place. I’m guessing we won’t see the forum pick and choose shitcoins for the members here to get fleeced by again. Just my thoughts… I still wonder what connection Grin developers had with the forum that got them such one of a kind support.
I remember grin coin from theymos, he was super excited about it and I really thought at some point that if bitcointalk's administrator is so excited about the grin project, then this might be a good coin to invest but it definitely isn't and never was. It's #1286 on Coinmarketcap.

Even those with good technical fundamentals like Monero/Grin will simply just slowly but surely die in terms of attention.
Because the privacy is not a priority for many people. NFTs and similar bullshit are more popular and attractive for people compared to coins that protect their privacy.

What are the chances of grin being used as a payment method again on the bitcointalk forum?
Grin won't be used as a payment method again and to be fair, I hope that forum will not accept any similar, barely known altcoins.
170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Martingale strategy With Stop Loss on: April 06, 2024, 09:30:01 PM
When using a Martingale strategy most people dont use SL

Here is a Martingale strategy using SL when scalping

Let me know what you think about the idea

One EXAMPLE

When scalping look for trade setups with a Risk Reward Ratio of at least 2/1

First Trade - If it hits your SL you lose $1
Second Trade - If it hits your SL you lose $1
Third Trade - If it hits your SL you lose $2
Fourth Trade - If it hits your SL you lose $4
Fift Trade - If it hits your SL you lose $8

And so on until you get a trade right with at least 2/1 Risk Reward Ratio

Regards

I don't understand why you should use a martingale strategy in trading. You don't need to set stop loss if you are a long-term investor and you don't trade futures. I would only trade with well-known coins and set the stop-loss to protect myself from very unexpected moments like a coin going bankrupt but if that happens, I believe the stop-loss option will not be triggered. If you set stop-loss option on low price range, then there might be a quick fall in price, your coins will be sold, then price will go high and you'll be in a significant lose.
I'm sorry but your strategy doesn't make sense to me. I prefer long-term holding instead of daily trading with SL.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it right to advice other people against gambling for personal reasons like?? on: April 06, 2024, 09:09:52 PM
What do you make of this, I honestly do not know but deep inside of me, I feel it's absolutely wrong to advice people against doing something, just because you did the same thing and it did not favor you..

Do you guys think it's OK to advice other gamblers to quit gambling simply because of your own bad experience, does your bad experience mean that every other gambler out there will also have the same bad experience?
I will like some really useful discussions around this topic.
It's not wrong to give advice to someone but it doesn't make any sense to advise someone to not gamble because it ruined your life. For me, this exactly sounds like advising someone to not get a girlfriend because he had a very bad past experience or because someone killed himself because a girl didn't say yes.
Gambling is associated with fun for me. I have worked in gambling industry and there is no conspiracy here. Look at gambling like video games but it's a different variation. You pay to play video games but in the casino you pay to play casino games but you decide the money that you want to pay. You can play with free money today, almost every casino gives you free money on every available game, so I don't understand what's wrong with gambling for some people. Just don't go too far and don't sell your house on dice roll and you'll be fine.
172  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 06, 2024, 08:23:38 PM
Hello everyone, I have just been credited the money into my freebitco.in account. I really want to say thank you to everyone who helped amplify this case in one way or the other, I truly appreciate. Although freebitcoin still needs to do better in terms of customer support.

I am glad to finally have this resolved. Thank you all for your help 🙏

~snip~

Actually I had another pending deposit issue that I was going to bring to light after this one had been addressed, they resolved both without me needing to bring to their notice. Thank you everyone.
I am glad that your case got solved and you got your money in your pocket. That's why we are here, Bitcointalk and its community has a huge power. Sometimes problems give you rewards and in this case, you got very high bitcoin price and the fiat value of your coins dramatically increased.

I have made a video to show the situation.  I tried it on two different laptops and on the mobile, same behaviour:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7gXJTFnqyw

I have also checked the profile settings, there is no options that are related to this topic.
So i believe it is either per-user setting or per country setting, and not the Browser setting or laptop setting.   But would need Freebitco.in's support to resolve this, and getting in touch with them is mission impossible.

I had a similar problem on different website and my problem was caused by this: I was using Google Chrome on smartphone and PC, I had turned on syncing that means every info was synced from pc to smartphone and back, so I couldn't generate a new address via my smartphone and pc but I was able to do that with a different browser which I wasn't syncing. If this is not the case with you, then this will be a problem that Freebitco has to solve but it's strange that this problem only affects to your account because I can generate new address without a problem.
173  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: April 06, 2024, 07:15:45 PM

From the price of FUND token in ICO to today price, it looks good. It does not give profit by holding the token but the token does not die and price does not lose too much.

I don't know price around $0.005 is bottom price but if I don't know ICO price, I would consider it is a bottom price range for me to accumulate the token. Your sharing is interesting too as it helps me to know reasons behind too big pumps of FUN token. The pump in 2021 is interesting but it was supported by a big news from Freebitco.in team.

Will we have anything big from the casino, to support the token rally in 2024 and 2025?
ICO price was 0.007$ and today it costs 0.007$ again but weeks ago it was between 0.004 and 0.005$. How does it look good? I can't agree with you because token dies, it reached ATH in 2018, 0.19$ and now went lower than ico price. Freebitco might have grown as the casino but it's very hard right now to make investors interested in this coin again. I personally wouldn't invest it if we have a look at its past price. To my mind, there is only way for Freebitco to survive this coin and it's if Freebitco rebrands itself and creates a new casino with amazing games and features, a casino that will be at the level of Stake, Sportsbet, Rollbit and etc...
174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why technical analysis is not reliable on: April 06, 2024, 05:24:35 PM
Technical analysis is reliable, I am 100% sure about that because I have been looking at charts for years and you can frequently correctly predict whether charts will go up or down but there are moments when technical analysis can lie to you and that moment happens when there is a dramatic change on the market. When there is a news like China bans Bitcoin mining or Elon Musk's Tesla decided to not accept Bitcoin payments, this kind of news always dramatically affects Bitcoin's price and the predicted price that you built on technical analysis, goes wrong. Also, there are moments when whales sell or buy too many Bitcoins and price goes in an unexpected way.
You have to be always updated if you trade Bitcoins daily. If you aren't updated and solely build your success on technical analysis, you'll fail hard.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO NOT BRAG ABOUT YOUR BITCOIN on: April 06, 2024, 04:37:33 PM
Many experts believe Bitcoin's surge to over $72,000 is just the beginning of its potential growth. Investors may also see this surge as a validation of Bitcoin's potential as a long-term store of value. It is important you do not brag about success. Don’t share how much you have with others. This should be obvious, but there are people that may not be so excited for you. They may tell their friends, and sooner or later someone who you don’t know, who may have the capacity for violence, may decide you are an appetizing target.
You can't send and receive Bitcoin without revealing your address, you can't also hide how many coins you hold because bitcoin blockchain is an open book where every transaction is stored. In order to use Bitcoin and still don't reveal exactly how much you own, you have to use unique address every time and also other privacy tools or methods.

This is yet another reason to use a multi-sig setup. Even if someone obtained 1 of 3 keys, they cannot steal your Bitcoin. Concurrently, your Bitcoin can be backed up. If you lose your Bitcoin you can literally just magically get it back if you have back up, that's because your Bitcoin is stored on the blockchain. If you have a copy of your "seed phrase" you can regain access to all your Bitcoin no matter which wallet you use. Don't go blabbing your mouth to everyone about your Bitcoin stack.
When you create a multi-sig setup, you have to consider that you shouldn't store 2 or 3 keys together, they should be stored separately to increase the efficiency of multi-sig setup, otherwise it doesn't matter.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Article from Coindesk. Are Bitcoin Developers Losing Faith in Lightning? on: April 03, 2024, 10:06:30 AM
Lighting Network is a failure to my mind, I lost faith in it immediately when I understood how to use it. It's not a practical solution for Bitcoin scalability because it's hard to use for the average human and in a world where everything is getting easier and user experience is getting improved in every product and business, there is no place for Lighting Network. The best solution for everyone in terms of transactions would be a high block size but it has its negative sides as well as I have heard from many bitcointalk members.
177  Economy / Gambling / Re: Buidling a New Crash Game with Community Experience on: April 03, 2024, 09:20:54 AM
I've been actively engaged in playing Bustabit, and I've noticed certain aspects lacking that could enhance the user experience. This realization has inspired me to create my own platform, starting with a fair and seamless crash game.
Bustabit is the original creator of the crash game, they also have a huge bankroll and one of the best approaches when it comes to user privacy, I don't remember Bustabit ever asking their customers to submit KYC documents. So many reasons keep them popular to this day.
By the way what do you think about SPRIBE's Aviator? How would you rate them? What are the strong and weak sides of their crash game named Aviator?

Development Progress:

  • The UI/UX design is nearly complete.
  • We're actively planning the product process and system design.
  • We've finalized the platform name, logo, and UI aesthetics.
Do you plan to share some UI/UX materials with us? To hype us?
178  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: April 03, 2024, 08:57:08 AM
If the user confused with Roobet and withdrawal fee, it's very possibly to be confused with centralized exchanges too.
It's a problem that exists and needs to be solved. I am checking mempool.space and see that 10 sat/vB (0.93$) is the highest fee at the moment and it's the fee that will include my transaction in the next block. Why should I pay 10$ to withdraw my Bitcoins if the recommended highest transaction fee is just one dollar? Centralized exchanges are totally insane too. I'm' checking Binance right now and withdrawal fees for Bitcoin are 10$ but to withdraw BTC SegWit, you have to pay 40$.
I think no casino should create money from transactions. It's not necessary to make withdrawal completely free but at least let users pay exactly what casino pays to process transactions. 10x is a lot.

Looking at the post above, it seems that something has changed in the withdrawal system at Roobet. I remember they once implemented this where users could choose between low, medium and high and that would really affect how long it took them to receive their coins and this was the same as what was implemented in one of the casinos but with a slightly different system called auto, slow and instant, and the sooner you want to receive the coins, the greater the fee that must be paid according to network fees at that time, but currently Roobet no longer applies things like that, you can see in the picture below

but I am not making a withdrawal so the person who is actually making the withdrawal will tell the correct.
I am not making a withdrawal but if that's true and 3 hours ago they were asking for 1.92$, then that's very good because fees were between 17-28 satoshi. I can't check it myself right now because I am not registered on Roobet.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: INFLATION, A MOTIVATION TO INVEST IN CRYPTOFASHIONS on: April 03, 2024, 08:06:29 AM
I always wondered if inflation, in addition to all the bad things it brings to society, has some benefit that could be useful  for each of the people who are harmed by this type of case, and the truth is that it seems incredible to me that It comes only to cause anguish and destabilization. Or do you think it has some benefit? Because it seems to me that there is nothing good about this event attacking countries and the worst thing is that it is inevitable, everyone is or will be going through inflation, The only thing I see as good about it is that it forces people to look, for alternatives that could be useful and more profitable when it comes to future stability.

Lately, these second options that I refer to deal with innovation focused on cryptocurrencies. Many businessmen are aware of this and apply it in their respective territories. To give an example, we have Spain, in a news story I read about this country in an article written in Spanish, is highlighted the increase in inflation and the interest that many retail investors have shown in focusing on the area of technology and virtual currencies to cope with what is happening. This is what Laidler, a global markets strategist, comments on, providing his opinion on the situation that Spain is experiencing and the measures that retail investors have been taking, according to him:

Quote
Crypto is now the second most popular asset class after stocks for retail investors, with 34% of retail investors owning crypto and making it an asset class dominated solely by retailers. It is easily the best-performing asset of 2024 so far, driven by a fundamental contraction in supply and demand, with strong demand for new Bitcoin spot ETFs, and with just under 30 days left until the halving.
For me it is a strategic decision, because in any case it is expected that at some point what will dominate is this type of asset and the one that will improve the quality of life of many.

SOURSE: https://es.cointelegraph.com/news/spanish-inflation-increased-and-investor-interest-is-in-the-technology-sector
Inflation creates bad times for people. During bad times, people are always willing to work more and are trying to find alternatives, including type of job, type of investment and etc. During inflation it's logical if someone googles how to earn money, accidentally will hear about Bitcoin and then decides to invest in it. So I think that inflation will motivate many people to invest in cryptocurrencies but it's difficult to say whether they'll get financial profit or not because many people start panicking if something goes wrong with bitcoin's price and they sell immediately, they can't hold it. So there is a high chance that many people will invest but will not profit Btw Bitcoin ETFs will be a huge help for many people to have an easy access to Bitcoin investment.
180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cointelegraph has the worst price analysis articles on: April 02, 2024, 05:57:12 PM
Do you think CNBC, Bloomberg, Seeking Alpha is any better? They are all just for views. They are opinions and anyone can pretty much have their own opinion on a type of investment. However they will be correct 50% of the time.

It will either go up or down, other than that there is no guarantee. Look how many hedge funds which are billion dollar businesses couldn’t even beat the NASDAQ last year. Any new trader could of bought the nasdaq index and make more profit than all these hedge funds which were in and out of trades all year and made less profit.
I don't think any of them are better, they are all terrible and I find their analysis funny sometimes. It's amusing when multi-billionaires publicly make predictions and all those listed websites quickly share their prediction and advice. They are always wrong and always fail, especially when they make predictions about Bitcoin.
Btw Cointelegraph is a different build. Yeah, everyone can have their own opinion and publicly state it but it's a shame when you can't make a correct prediction. If I were the owner of Cointelegraph, I would never write predictions again because I have read them for years, every possible day and they are 99% wrong, I can't believe how can they make so many wrong predictions, that's insane. Their technical analysis is a total joke, I always regretted it when I followed their advice.
