1081  Economy / Exchanges / Re: For Coinbase Satoshi Nakamoto is a Risk Factor on: March 01, 2021, 05:46:12 PM
Satoshi is a risk factor for every major crypto-related businesses like Binance, Coinbase, bitpay, etc... Imagine satoshi appeared and it's verified that certain person is Satoshi. He can change the whole situation, one bad word from his side towards Coinbase and their business is fucked forever. He can greatly manipulate the price. People follow to Elon Musk's tweets on dogecoin (meme coin) and imagine what will happen in Satoshi's case, he will be a total game changer. That's amazing at some point, this man (or a team) created one of the most exciting thing in 21th century.

Nicola Tesla is the inventor of the 20th century, personally, I would call Satoshi Nakamoto the inventor of the 21st century. This man gave a new currency to our population!
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Trust In-House Casino Competition? (Wager/Multiplier/Raffle) on: February 28, 2021, 05:29:34 PM
Many casinos have leaderboards for a wide range of competition. Is there a way to verify the validity of the users and their scores? What stop the casinos from printing random (fake) users and put that on the leaderboard?

That's the reason I only participate in competitions published and handled in Bitcointalk. It's easier to verify. Do you also think the same?

Sincerely,
A skeptic guy.
Yeah, they can do that, for example in Dice, they know server seeds and can manipulate the results. I remember Bitsler wanted to implement an option where people would invest money into bankroll but they changed their money because of that reason, it's possible to manipulate the results (win/loss).

It all comes down to how you trust the casino where you are playing. It doesn't worth for reputable casinos to cheat their customers because financial pros can't outweigh the cons that it will bring to their reputation. Bad reputation = a few players and a few players = less profit.
1083  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is in Step Cycle | Good opportunity for buying more! on: February 28, 2021, 10:44:59 AM
Halving happened in 2016, yeah? And price started to rise and surpassed once upon a time all-high $1000 but that was nothing compared to what happened after one year. In December 2017, price went up to 20K, so if we consider what happened in the last halving and also see the chart (I mean the history of bitcoin's price), then I agree with you, this can be a good opportunity to buy more but price is really so high, I don't really think that it will rise so enormously but when it comes to bitcoin, you have to imagine unimaginable and believe in unbelievable, so, idk. I would stay away from suggesting someone to buy bitcoin right now because a lot of people lost homes when they bought in 2017 but personally, I would still risk and hold only the amount that I ain't going to use/touch.
1084  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 suspending on 1st March 2021 :-( on: February 28, 2021, 10:14:05 AM
The truth is yolodice team have tried after running the site for four year they are still able to come out to inform users and giving time for fund to be withdraw
That's a normal thing for a company to announce its closure. Because they have users that have huge funds stored not only on their balances and also for their investor's sake. See you again yolodice if you come back.

this is what every gambling site should do before they totally disappear from the community. let their players do their final business affairs and give them enough time to get their money back. unfortunately, only few gambling sites can do the same.
so in case, yolo team will come back to the gambling community and present a new project, they are very much welcome because they exited in good terms. they are leaving good reputation to the community and that i think is one of their legacy in this dice community.
This is just normal, healthy behaviour from their side. Sometimes, financial gains can't outweigh the cons that scam carries. Yolodice is a team of good guys and it's not in their mind to scam people, they were operating and doing their business honestly, I haven't seen anyone complaining that Yolodice is a bad or scam website. It's sad that we miss such an amazing team in not only crypto but overall in the gambling industry.
They have earned the trust and in case they return in this industry, they'll succeed even further!
1085  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Elon Musk's twit caused the Bitcoin bubble burst? on: February 28, 2021, 09:37:40 AM
Which tweets?
Elon Musk is a funny person sometimes. Some of his tweets are purely just for fun or meme purposes, some may sarcastic.
Even how Elon Musk will make some tweets in the future, people will start to adopt it, people will learn and start to treat it normal, one example is the FUD spreading on random news articles or sources a few years ago.

Yeah, he is funny. He just posts jokes/memes on Twitter but people react to it like it's the message from god. That's the real problem but as I see, people are slowly adapting on it. I think they hear proposals from friends like: Hey, this man just jokes and have fun with it, why do you seriously follow him.
On last tweet about dogecoin where the flag of doge was on the moon and his statement was: Doge on the moon, actually <-- I thought that dogecoin would skyrocket again or at least have 50% and more rise but seems nothing significant, price went a little bit higher despite the fact that BTC was falling (just some percentages) and then went down again, so, his tweets are losing value on every following attempt.
1086  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to sell BTC: $80K, $100K or $150K? on: February 27, 2021, 07:15:14 PM
No one can tell you exactly when it's time to sell your coins. You have to ask yourself some questions and then decide, is the profit that you'll get satisfying if you sell your coins today? What if the price goes down or up? Does it worth for me to risk and still wait? Maybe you think that it worths for you to wait but you have to be strongly confident that you won't panic sell your coins and go out of the game.

I sold them at 40K, bought at 33K and sold at 50K. I didn't choose the right times but I am still satisfied with the results, I could profit a lot more if I waited until 58K but who knew? If we know the future, then we wouldn't make mistakes.
1087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't be used for transactions? on: February 27, 2021, 05:58:11 PM
Yeah, it can't be used for small transactions but there are always ways to solve this problem.

1. If you use wallets like Binance, XAPO, etc, you can transfer without fees between Binance -> Binance, Xapo -> Xapo.
2. You can use the Lighting network if it's supported by the service providers you are going to use (you need segwit address for that).
3. You can convert bitcoin into XRP and get transactions confirmed in seconds with the smallest fee.

1088  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We should build a seastead on: February 27, 2021, 05:48:06 PM
Since bitcoin's prise is almost 3x higher than it was at the time when theymos created this thread, is this idea still in review?

What do you think theymos? Or are you waiting for another halving(s)?
1089  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 3 Questions directed towards Cash Traders (2 min of your time for a P2P Project) on: February 27, 2021, 05:39:34 PM
There were logical answers on first and third questions and I share their opinion (despite the fact that I am not a cash trader) but I found the second question very interesting:
Quote
2. For you, what is the most secure way to do a cash in person trade ?

As o_e_l_e_o mentioned, public areas with a lot of people are preferred and also places where there are cameras to capture if theft or unwanted thing happens. You have to come with a friend(s) to be ready for unwanted situations and better to choose physically strong friends with preferable some decent skills in a fight (but it depends on the amount of money, it's not necessary for some $$$).

There are also two ways to be sure that cash is real:
1. Ask him to withdraw via ATM
2. Ask him to exchange money from A currency to B currency and take the converted money (and then reconvert if you wish), this way you receive money from the local exchange and can feel secure.
1090  Economy / Speculation / Re: what is correlation between bitcoin halving and bullrun on: February 26, 2021, 08:31:32 PM
Okay, I'll try my best to explain it in a good and understandable way:
The highest percentage of society loves cars and probably dreams to own Ferrari. At first, Ferrari wasn't worthy because was a new thing and people didn't know what it was or why would they use it but once they understand the pros and cons of this, they started to buy it. Price started to increase as more people started to buy our Ferrari. Day to day, Ferrari was becoming popular, years have passed and it conquered the media, news websites, etc. But the problem is that Ferrari is limited to 21 million while there are billions of people on earth. Every year, Ferrari production is 50% lessened. As time goes, more and more people want Ferrari but it's production decreases. Despite the fact that everyone wants it, the price has to rise in order to satisfy people. With value X, 100 from 100 people will be able to buy it but when we value it 100000X, then only tiny amount of people can buy it, for example 10 from 100. That's why halving causes bull run Smiley
1091  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning is better than Following on: February 26, 2021, 07:52:37 PM
The highest percentage of crypto traders are noob and panic buyers/sellers. They buy bitcoin at 58K and then sell at 50K. They bought at 58K because after looking on it for a long time, they analyzed that this coin rises and could double their capital but they realize it very late. Then, once they buy on peak and price starts to decline, they think: OMG, I'm losing my money, I have to sell these coins immediately and get the money back until it's late. Then the price goes up, then their money is F*ed up and that's all. In trading, there are endless rise and falls.
1092  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Xapo Wallet on: February 26, 2021, 07:36:30 PM
Where are you from? I remember that some years ago, XAPO was supporting almost every country but then they decided to cut some of them and maybe you are from that country.

Also, here is the link of their terms and conditions:

Seems they took the fee from your balance, read this quote from their terms:

Quote
We may also close your Xapo Account immediately and without notifying you of our decision if any of the following happens:
There has been no transaction on your Xapo Account for more than 24 consecutive months;
Your Xapo Account has no funds and you have not logged in for more than 6 consecutive months;

Also:

Quote
23.1. Unclaimed Property. Under applicable law, after a specified period of inactivity by you with respect to your Xapo Account, Xapo may be required to report and/or remit any bitcoins it is holding in custody for you in accordance with applicable laws.Xapo reserves the right to deduct a dormancy fee or other administrative charges from such unclaimed funds, as permitted by applicable law.

So, according to their TOS, your account is blocked and nothing can be done to revoke it.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk twitted - Doge on the actual MOON! on: February 24, 2021, 05:15:20 PM
I think his tweet had some effect in first one hour or two but after that, doge was moving according to bitcoin's price movement. I'm glad, people didn't follow his words, seems every new tweet from him related to price manipulation loses value.
1094  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think about this UI? on: February 24, 2021, 05:03:50 PM
Actually, a slight update that includes a profile section, hope you'll like it.

Btw I don't like the personal text and signature area, also have to put ranks somewhere Cheesy
Also, I think that yellow/orange background would be better

Edit:
I know avatar needs some correction, isn't placed as it should be (it's a little bit higher), sorry, now I understand the result of a lot of unslept hours  Grin
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Musk twitted - Doge WOW on: February 24, 2021, 02:12:18 PM
That "literally" part is interesting. SpaceX was selected by NASA to get more humans to moon. I don't know how far or near that mission is, but... do they plan to put a dogecoin flag there, or is he only signaling that their lunar mission is rather close to be finalized?!
I think he plans to actually put the dogecoin's flag on the moon. This man is crazy, that's what I expect from him because of his craziness <3 And I love his craziness, that's what makes him unique but people's reaction on his posts aren't adequate.

I can't believe what is done by repeating a post like that. but what makes me even more disbelieving is that today Dogecoin also experienced a small pump after joining yesterday's market correction.
I started to get confused by Elon who started to play with the crypto market with the market sentiment he created.
I can't believe too. I think that right now, people think: Elon Musk tweeted something on doge, people will follow him and price will rise. <-- If everyone thinks so, everyone will just make the price to rise Smiley
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Elon Musk twitted - Doge on the actual MOON! on: February 24, 2021, 01:07:29 PM
Okay, Elon Musk just twitted an image with title: Doge WOW.

It's interesting to see what will happen. Image itself is optimistic and the idea behind is that Doge will go to the moon.

What do you think, what will happen? It already has enormous reactions in just some minutes.

1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Elon Musk looking to buy more Bitcoin ? on: February 23, 2021, 07:57:34 AM
I guess, yeah, he will buy more bitcoins. He just found the easiest way to skyrocket his profits. He says btc is good = price rises, then sells his bitcoins. Then he will say again how exciting btc is, price will rise, the same will happen. Haha, it's so funny I can't even imagine whether I am in a dream state or not.

But since Karma is a bitch, I hope that when he buys bitcoins and says that it's great, opposite happens and price will fall until next halving, then this man will end up bad. But there is a low possibility that it will happen because this man has huge influence on people and has marketed himself very, very well, I am really amazed. But problem isn't in Elon Musk, problem is in the society that blindly follows his words.
1098  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: February 22, 2021, 08:20:54 PM
Atleast 1 thing for sure you must know is, Ryan , Daniel, Dooglus aren't alt or same person

I think it was 2013 or 2014, and there was this dude BBmmBB (aka owlman or something) and was rather obsessed about proving that virtually all the bitcoin casino owners were the same person. Guy always ended up getting to me, I spent hours arguing with his incoherent accusations in the chat and forums ... and made me feel a little unappreciated that my productivity is apparently so low that someone thinks I must be running half a dozen sites with all different alts ><
Haha, you have remembered his name. I don't know about that person but I remember our game-protect who was always posting that all crypto casinos registered in Curacao are scammers. He was always promoting game-protect insurance (but was asking to become his affiliate in supported casinos).
Eh, you just reminded my old time. Btw isn't bustabit going to update the UI? It's very old, it's possible to come up with new design and opportunities like added jackpot, lucky wheel, etc like others turned creativity into bustabit like games.
1099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ongoing Price Correction on: February 22, 2021, 07:28:03 PM
No one knows what will happen. More likely price will correct but at the same time, we have to remember that recent days showed that people like Elon Musk has a huge influence over Bitcoin's price and not only on Bitcoin. What if Elon will come with some crazy Twitter announcement?
But current situation is very risky for trading as it's harder to predict the future. There were crazy price movements today, even after your post price went up to 53K. And exchanges do the shit thing too, for example, Binance servers suspend, you are becoming unable to trade, etc.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: February 22, 2021, 07:04:46 PM
Happy Friday, gamblers Smiley

Some time ago, last October, I asked you if BTC price increase has affected your gameplay somehow. Back then, it wasn't a problem for most of the users who replied.

Well, today the BTC price is almost $50K. I was just wondering, how are things now.
Are you still playing with Bitcoin, or have you switched to another coin due to a rise?

Thanks,
Karl from Bitcasino
Bitcasino is an active crypto gambling website, right? It's curious for me to hear this kind of questions from you. You have the website and you have all the statistics, you should be the one tell us what's happening right now in gambling industry when Bitcoin's price rises. Idk, it sounds very curious for me.

It's nice to see Ethan's post on yolodice:
Quote
For us though, dice games were much more fun when the cryptocurrency world was smaller, and the coins themselves were (sort of) detached from the real-world value. Bitcoin and other coins are much more than they used to be a few years ago. Crypto is goin mainstream in a big way. Cryptocurrencies are not for geeks any more, they became the cutting edge of the future financial world.

We still think dice sites have their place in the crypto-world, so if you want to start one — don't get discouraged. Maybe it's just us that keep complaining about the world changing :-)
I guess, a higher price isn't good for casinos. More people move from casinos to exchange and continue trading for a while. That's why some casinos complain around bitcoin's price and gambling and that's why exchanges have enormous traffic in these moments.
