If you are really cheap, just get a GE 5050BTU Window unit from walmart, for $100.
162  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Cards Throttling Around 100c on: June 13, 2013, 03:05:43 AM
Previously I rented a place in a datacenter, that makes life easier and manually fixed the GPU fans so that the temperature is about 60 degree celsius.  If you are into the 100s, you are going to shorten the life of your cards a lot.  No point, at least try to get them running until ROI.
Don't matter really, b/c if the card fail, just RMA it.
Most cards come with 2 yr warranty.
163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [3] countdown! on: June 12, 2013, 02:03:53 PM
Batch#2 was not even shipped. No chance for batch#3.
What we can do now is train our patience and wait.

164  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How to select a 7950? on: June 12, 2013, 02:02:15 PM
So I recently bought a selection of 7950s... and ended up returning most of them... except for a pair which I kept (and another pair which I've since sold, because I missed the return date).

The one's I kept were the vapor-x from sapphire absolutely the best card out there.

HIS w/ iceQ is the close runner up.

reference is 3rd best.

Gigabyte is ok... but don't expect to mine with them in a case. These guys need aftermarket cooling on the backside or extender cables so they don't cook whatever happens to be near them.

avoid everything else unless you're planning on watercooling.

Are you serious about the HIS IceQ as the close runner up?
I had 5 of them, and they easily hit 100C with 100% fan speed. All default clock and voltage.
165  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Question about x16-x16 Riser with molex on: June 12, 2013, 01:57:23 PM
Still looking for an answer. If you have a x16-x16 riser, please disconnect your molex and tell me if it still works fine. Thanks Smiley
Why can't you try it?
My answer would be it depends on the card.
If the card tries to draw power from the pci-e slot, it would not able to, and might or might not work.

169  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Remote Restart / Reset frozen computer over LAN on: June 03, 2013, 06:26:10 PM
On Windows: CGWatcher + TeamViewer

The rig is hung, you cannot ping it, yet alone run TeamViewer to it.  And the CGWatcher?$#!, please!!! LOL.

Exactly.
A lot of people seems to think that TeamViewer, cgwatcher, ping, etc still somehow works on a locked up PC.
170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Apparently PayPal can no longer be used to buy/sell Bitcoin mining hardware on: June 03, 2013, 04:13:51 PM
paypal has always been a pain the ass for selling or buying anything, they just flag accounts randomly or whenever they feel they aren't making enough money off the fees if you ask me Smiley
agree....
just don't use paypal. they are not worthy of the profit they are taking from you.
171  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1000w enough for four 7900 cards? on: June 03, 2013, 02:32:41 PM
Ok that date has come...I'm running 3x7970's oc'd off my seasonic 860w n offbrand 600w psu without a problem Smiley

To date I have yet to hear of one person happy with their dual PSU setup, almost always leads to problems. I am intrigued by the product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817206001 however I do not know if it is a good value, but that's probably one of the only ways I'd recommend dual PSU.

You are probably running your PSU close to its limit, so maybe underclock/undervolt a bit and hope for the best.
That date has come for me too. Been running several 2 PSU rigs for 2 yrs.
172  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Would unpowered risers damage the x16 slots of a mobo? on: May 24, 2013, 09:51:02 PM
riser don't damage your mobo, it is the GPU that pulls too much power that will damage the mobo.
173  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is there any interest in extended-length risers? on: May 24, 2013, 09:29:02 PM
the problem is... will it function as expected?
PCI-E specs was NEVER intended to have extended outside the motherboard.
174  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon Asic] trade-in Thread on: May 22, 2013, 08:30:19 PM

175  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are BFL Jalapeņos worth it? on: May 22, 2013, 08:20:38 PM
no
176  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is mining in Australia worth it? on: May 21, 2013, 02:11:38 PM
Is it worth the electricity bills to mine in australia?
Also how much can you make per day mining with a pool like slush's pool. I understand it will depend on your rig I am just wondering what the average person is pulling.
No
177  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone know if I can switch my rigs PSUs over to 220V? on: May 21, 2013, 02:11:08 PM
lol.....
it is STill the same number of watts, it is not magic you do not get anything for free......

Yes they are switched mode PSU they work from about 95-350V,  they really do not care if they have been on 110 before.

Only point is to make sure there are no dust bunnies and they have GOOD ventilation round the components because at 240 the break-over distances will be reduced  if it is damp.

I think OP is wanting it to draw lower amps.
178  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Deposit to BTC-e through OKPAY on: May 21, 2013, 01:55:23 PM
you guys are lucky that OKPAY did not eat your money.
I transferred $5000, and it has been almost 2 months, and I see no $$.
Their support is terrible, lies after lies.
179  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: U.S. residents no more Dwolla + MtGox now what? on: May 21, 2013, 01:51:48 PM
I've never liked using Gox because of all their send me your birth records BS. Just do a Bank Wire direct to your BTC-e account and then buy btc. You could also use Liberty Reserve.

BTC-e is in the Republic of Bulgaria so I'm pretty sure they don't give a shit what the US gov does. LOL
I didn't know you can bank wire directly to btc-e
180  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BEWARE OKPAY bank wires on: May 21, 2013, 01:50:15 PM
Now they said they didn't get the funds.....
