Hi, Input the amount and click on Send Bitcoins. A temporary BTC address will appear in a popup. Copy that address and use it in your Windows Bitcoin client-
Should be okay.
Now I see the pop up. I didn't see it previously even though I tried multiple times.

How do I fund my account? Inside Mt Gox, I clicked on "Add Funds". Then, under "Add Bitcoins" I input the amount of BTC. There is no place to input sending or receiving address. How will it know what is my wallet (where to retrieve the fund from)? And don't I need to do something on my bitcoin client in Windows to make the transfer happen? So lost....
Thanks in advance.

For a similarly priced GPU from AMD and nVidia, it is very clear that AMD has a significant lead in hash rate for BTC. Anyone care to explain why?
I know AMD has more "stream processors" than nVidia "cuda cores", but I don't think they can be compared directly. Otherwise AMD would have several times the performance than nVidia on games and GPGPU applications. However, this is not the case.

if the number of people mining continues to increase, causing it harder to generate BTC, then no doubt the price of BTC will go up. If the price does not go up in proportion to electric cost to generate using the most efficient hardware, then it is because there is a significant number of people running on "free" electricity.

at present time, i don't need a lot of bitcoins. lol
what does that even mean? Your so rich you dont need money? sorry? bitcoin is not physical money. I know you can convert bitcoin into real money though. Why take the extra step and lose bitcoin or $ in the extra transaction?

I am thinking of getting multiple AMD 6970 cards. I don't consider the 6990's because they are too hot and noisy.
I should point out that the 6970 is PLENTY noisy. If you are going to pool them for "renting" then you will likely get more bang for your buck with the 6990's and good ventilation since they only use one PCIx slot. For me, the limiting factor was that I didn't want to put $850+ into a single card, the 6990 (I could actually get two 6970's cheaper) and it was too long to fit in my case; as it is, the 6970 only has about 1/4" to spare in length. lol. "6970 is PLENTY noisy", but you recommend me get 6990 as if they have lower noise level? The 6990 only uses one PCI-E slot doesn't make sense either. The card is so huge that even though u can insert it into one physical slot, but it would take up 3 slot spaces for tiny room of ventilation.

yes, turn off the flash hardware accelerator will solve it.

How many people would be interested in renting them monthly to mint bitcoin? How much would you like to pay for 1 month worth of AMD 6970 crunching? Please keep in mind the cost of the hardware, power of the GPU, and additional AC to cool the house. I think the best way is for people to rent the GPU and have it run as a group mining, such as joining deepbit.net.

I am sure the miner program is safe right?
Did you run md5 against the package to verify that you have the correct one? Well, I downloaded from http://github.com/downloads/m0mchil/poclbm/poclbm_py2exe_20110325.7zBeen running since yesterday (no AVG warning yesterday). Today, I decide to run another instance of it, as I have two GPUs. Then I got the AVG warning. No, I did not check the md5, as I've already extracted the 7z and thus can't check it now.

In my system, I have 2 GPUs. If I want to run two instances of the GPU miner, can I use the same folder? or do I need to create a separate folder for each instance? Also, where are the temporary files kept? I mean, if I close the miner occasionally, I am sure the miner keeps a copy of the unfinished work somewhere.

So I just try to run a second instance of m0mchil's poclbm miner, and AVG antivirus flagged it as malware and asked me to remove it. I am sure the miner program is safe right?

In windows I think if you run: %appdata% you will get to it.
Great, found it. Thanks.

Question is, how does the system know that long string of characters is tied to me? I didn't sign up for an account, so there is no username and password to tied that string to me. And what if I changed computers and downloaded a new client? The string will be different again.
That string is actually tied to a file called wallet.dat on your hard-drive, and you can think of your bitcoins as being stored on that file. If you need to use them from a different computer, you have to copy that file to the new computer. You have to be careful not to expose this file to other people though, because anybody who can access it will also have the ability to steal your coins. And where would I find wallet.dat file? I looked in the bitcoin-0.3.20.2-win32 folder and subfolders, it is not there. Essentially, I could have multiple wallets? And be able to use bitcoin from each as long as I have the wallet.dat file? I've also read somewhere that there is a website where I can sign up for an account, and they will help keep my bitcoins, thus eliminating the need for me to keep wallet.dat file? I forgot what is the web address.

Ok, a newbie to bitcoin here. I've downloaded the Windows client from http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.3.20/bitcoin-0.3.20.2-win32.zip/downloadExtracted it, and run the executable. It says I can receive money by letting the sender know my receiving string, which is a super long string of characters. Question is, how does the system know that long string of characters is tied to me? I didn't sign up for an account, so there is no username and password to tied that string to me. And what if I changed computers and downloaded a new client? The string will be different again. I am so confused. All I wanted to know is who can I send/receive bitcoin, and how do I know the bitcoin I receive actually is mine. Yes, I've been to bitcoin.org, but couldn't find anything that really explain it. Thanks.

Paypal mining for software miners was an 1st april joke. if that's a joke, then why is the paypal email field still there under advanced settings?

regardign paypal mining. How do I get to the page to enter my paypal email? I know the direct link is http://deepbit.net/settings but I want to know how to get to it using the menu. Also, it says to use "--currency=PPUSD", do I just add that to the end regardless of the type of miners? for example, I am using poclbm for gpu. So I would run "poclbm.exe --currenty=PPUSD"? What do I put for "Your wallet for receiving rewards"? Thanks
