1101  Economy / Economics / Re: USA Credit Rating downgraded from AAA to AA+ by S&P. Who are S&P? on: August 11, 2011, 07:50:14 PM
THE US credit rating should either be AAA or D.
AAA because the US owes its creditors in USD only, which it can print at will.
D because if the US don't print more money, it will for sure bankrupt.
1102  Bitcoin / Mining support / miner hangs when i disconnect logmein or unplug monitor on: August 01, 2011, 05:31:37 PM
Win7 x64, 11.7 driver, SDK that came with 11.7.
Have 4 GPUs in the system.
The first miner on the first GPU would always hang when I disconnect the monitor, or when I disconnect the remote logmein session.
This means the first GPU can only mine when there is a monitor plugged in!
Does anyone have this same problem?
I moved to 11.7 b/c it doesn't need dummy plugs. Used Ubuntu before on the same system, and all 4 miners on 4 GPUs were hanging all the time. This is what made me switch to Win7.

yes, its time to meet all the first adopters of BTC!
1104  Economy / Economics / Re: How are you for Preparing Aug 12 if the Market Collaps on: July 28, 2011, 08:48:31 PM
Even if debt ceiling is not raised by Aug 2, US will NOT default.
Don't believe everything the politicians and the media says. Rather, do ur own research and you will find out all this default thing is just a game.

that is chinese, not cantonese.
1106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Maximum number of GPU cores supported by Win 7, XP, and Linux on: July 21, 2011, 09:22:25 PM
Bump. Looks like the OP's question is still unanswered... I read the new CCCs overcome the 4 GPU limit in Windows. Is this true?
yes it is true, i have tested it with 5x GPU in Win7. But now I run my miners in Ubuntu
1107  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Ubuntu Natty Narwhal 11.04 Mining Guide / HOWTO on: July 20, 2011, 03:06:47 AM
step 15.
svn checkout http://svn.json-rpc.org/trunk/python-jsonrpc

the site has been down for a while. Is there a alternative?
Thanks
1108  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: flash drive for OS on: July 19, 2011, 07:48:01 PM
make sure you get a QUALITY flash drive.
I have 3x Kingston 4gb drives that came as "FREE" from newegg purchases before, and they are nothing but trouble.
Ubuntu would crash, fail to start, says the drive is corrupt, and other stuff.
While my other machines with Patriot and Corsair flash have been running almost flawlessly!
Again, QUALITY flash drive is key.
In the mean time, I am switching the POS kingston drives with real HDDs.
1109  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Possible alternative for miners/idle hardaware? on: July 18, 2011, 07:33:18 PM
by switching to F@H or and BOINC projects. It is time to donate after you've made big bucks with ur hardware.
1110  Economy / Economics / Re: AMD NYSE on: July 16, 2011, 05:28:53 AM
also a lot of miners buy them second hand, so no new money to AMD.
I would still buy AMD stock though, they are so cheap now.
1111  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCI-E riser/extensions on: July 13, 2011, 08:01:26 PM
how do you chain these things?
If that is possible, we can put 10 or 20 cards in one machine.
1112  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5830 x 4 Mining Rig, When to call it quits? on: July 08, 2011, 07:21:01 PM
I'm running 4x 5830 with a 650w TX650 v2...really
It is running at 100% load but is stable
I know corsair makes good PS, but u r overloading it wayyyy over.
i use 2x 650 for my 4x 5830 OCed rig. I like to make sure my PS can run smoothly and don't crap out on me due to excessive heat.
1113  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5830 x 4 Mining Rig, When to call it quits? on: July 08, 2011, 07:18:27 PM
Your still making good profit, but your hardware will be worthless if you wait esp 5830s b.c they have no use besides mining, gamers are not buying them...

worthless?
please give them to me.
1114  Economy / Economics / Re: My Country don't accept Dollar anymore on: July 07, 2011, 10:10:58 PM
that is logical, since the US gov basically prints more money at will.
why would anyone wants to hold the USD?
It is like holding fake money, where people can print at will.

Do tell the Chinese government that.  It seems addicted to dollars.

If only 1% of their dollar holdings were moved to bitcoins.... Shocked
They have been OFFLOADING the USD currency since 2008.
Now nobody wants to touch US treasury bonds.

1117  Economy / Economics / Re: Mt Gox outragious 3% now, then 6.5% transaction fee on: July 02, 2011, 02:06:24 AM
making what mistake?
the transaction fee I post on the first post is based on the support ticket mtgox response.

Was just stating fact on what I learned from their CS team, and letting people aware that there are better options out there.
I was a big mt gox user, but their lack of service/competency have made me switch to tradehill.

Yup, and that is a mistake on their part.  A trivial mistake.  And a common one.  For example, Verizon's call center staff doesn't seem to understand the difference between 0.02 dollars and 0.02 cents.  Read more here.

Now how do you explain the gibberish I quoted before?

For the next 25 days or so, certain traders affected directly by the Mt Gox rollback have zero commissions.  That accounts for the historically narrow spreads.
Really? you would take zero commisions on a ROLLBACK?
Someone could have made millions buying them at $0.01.
Can you imaging the stock/forex market having to ROLLBACK?
Not that I bought any at $0.01, but Mt Gox should be the one footing the bill.
If they want to offer a trading platform, they better be tight on security and have tons of insurance.
Fact is, it is Mt. Gox fault, and in the end, they paid nothing for their mistake.
Explain what? Gibberish?
I am not getting what you are trying to ask.

Go troll somewhere else.

Most of your sentences start with capital letters and include punctuation, so I can't imagine that your reading comprehension is so bad that you are making an honest mistake here.

The rollback also rolled fees back, so no one paid any fees at all from the time just before the big oops until trading opened again.  The zero commission special going on right now is for trades made after the site reopened, that is for trades in the future.

Thanks,

1120  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Let's dispel two Windows GPU mining myths.. on: July 01, 2011, 05:41:56 PM

I tried to mine with 8 GPU's in Linux - Ubuntu 11.04. Mother board is MSI big bang Marshal. The problem is not Linux but PSU.
I can mine with 8 cards , if don't over clock, don't have any fans installed....
To cool GPU's i use 120 mm fans, 6- 8 fans & PSU can't able to give power with 8 cards + fans.
I used 2 PSU's & i still can't believe the PSU sucked.
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200 W. Before buying i wrote to cooler master & got confirmation that it will support 8 GPU's.
Yes it supports 8 GPU's in Ubuntu, but mining & adding fans makes the PSU to go off.
Then i used another PSU, 3, 1200 W to mine with 8 cards, but due to not able to under clock memory of 6970's heat went up to 95C+ , so stopped using that.
My advice, unless you know how to cool, avoid more than 6 GPU's.
Also Cooler Master even though having 80 gold certificate sucks, seems they got fraud certificate or something & also in AMD's certified PSU's only 2 nos of 5870 is mentioned as CMSPG 1200w supports.

If you want more power, yesterday found out, silverstone ST-1500W can able to with stand 4 GPU's , I emailed them & they confirmed.
Still cooler master gave me failure , i can't trust it now. But 1500W can support, i hope.
My system had 5 nos. of 5870's (2 ASUS EAH 5870, 1 Sapphire HD 5870, 2 MSI R5870 Lightning) & 3 nos. of MSI R6970 Lightning.

Well duh, of course a single 1200W power supply isn't going to be able to handle the load of 8 GPUs.  You get a max of 98A @ 12V, so 1176W to work with on the 12V line.  Figure your system probably has around 100W overhead, so you're down to 1076W to split among 8 video cards, or 134W each.  Unless you're using some pretty low performance video cards, you're overloading the power supply.  You're probably going to have to run a second power supply to power at least a couple of those cards.

Before answering, READ what said.
He used up to 3 power supplies, not one.
