Altcoins ruined everything, bitcoin would have made me rich now Im stuck with useless altcoins instead fuc!
Oh jeez, cry us a river. welcome to alts. hodl or cry and lose money... I am pretty sad that I didnt buy me some Monero when I first heard about it one year ago. It would have been the perfect time, and I would have made such a good profit by now. Do you think now is still a good entry point or should I wait for another retrace? What are the price expectations until end of 2017?
Nobody knows. I've been buying since .50 cents a few years ago. Still would buy more. Someone was speaking about the "psichology" of price. I had the oportunity to buy monero with cash in person for ( as far as i remember) 10 or 15% above market. I didnīt. I was wrong. Because the "above market" was at the time 55$. Rough:)

Hey guys something horrible happened to me because of my stupidness. So i use polo with 2fa google authentificator. And yes, what should not happen happened. Phone was messed up, factory reset, new android, 2fa gone, no backup code. Yes i know, absolutely stupid from me. Didnt thought this would happend. So my only way to get my account back in a ticket to polo. I already did that. I have about 8k bucks in my account. I wanted to hear if anyone has any experiences and how big my chances are to get my account back. So polo automatically asks some questions that identify the user like last ip adress, some withdrawal transaction ids etc. I pretty much can answer those all. I know my last login IP, i know a few of my latest withdrawal transaction ids, i also know more or less the amount of money i had stored in my account at my last login. Also a few months ago i exported my polo transaction history for analysies. I did send them that excel file too. So all of that is pretty good. Only thing that really really scares me is this. I think an important way to identify yourself is to send a passport copy. here is my problem. I didnt upgrade my status on polo. So i had no need to state my real name in my profile. I did not had anything bad in my mind, i just wanted to have the most privacy as possible, and since i didnt wanted a higher status lever i just stated a wrong name. This i told polo also. So the name in my profile is fake, but at least i probably know what fake name i used. Jeah its stupid. But again, i just didnt thought about anything bad happening. So overall i have plenty of ways to proof that im the holder of this account, just the very important "name" thing, i can not do anything about What do you guys say? had the same problem. SUPPORT took a while to answer but i was able to solve it buy giving them transaction adresses, amounts and dates. Plus i did full verification of the account.

I've gotten to the point that I can't tell if new posters are people (bots) trying to take advantage of sig campaigns or are new XMR interested folks from possibly non English speaking countries? I think this could be somewhat bullish?
From what i see in my country, wich have small awareness to crypto is some interest in looking up Monero when it spikes. Months ago when it went to 80īs i got some monero talk on BTC foruns and now i noticed it again. If it adds to the bullish sentiment, IDK.

I always bought monero with other crypto (mainly BTC) . Is there a good service to get it from fiat directly? Or i should keep doing the same, buy BTC, ETH, LTC for example and then trade it for Monero?
That's probably simplest if you have a preferred exchange for that. Otherwise Kraken and Bitfinex have USD markets, also EUR on Kraken IIRC. There are several other EUR markets, and GBP, KRW, JPY etc https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/#BTCI noticed iīm registered on kraken since mid 2016. Had forgot about that:) thanx

Zcash protocol ... banks and financial institutions,
It will not be because no one sane would trust trusted setup if they can just use Monero where they dont need to trust anyone but the math. Right now no one use it because their anon transactions takes way to much resources. And since no one uses anon transactions, that makes those few anon transactions not really anon. Not to mention that Matthew Green and Zooko Wilcox both assert that it can be backdoored, that a number of the implementors are SIGINT operatives, that users pay a 20% tax to the corporation, that it is centrally controlled...ad nauseam. The stuff is poison. I suspect it killed Alexandre Cazes. That is why J P Morgan likes it. They are not interested in protecting your privacy from the oligarchs. They are the oligarchs. OK, since we reach ATH. I was thinking I guess new event should be $200. Seems sure thing with whole Crypto still getting more popularity. So when exactly will Monero reach $200?
Too short-term for the kind of factors I understand well to make themselves strongly felt. I would estimate this most easily by estimating the DNM usage growth rate, and the growth rate of reserve hoarding, to get a base demand curve, then adding a volatility factor and it's corresponding mean stopping time, but for such a nearby number the stochastic stopping time would dominate, surely, so the first order estimate is determined strictly by the Levy process. And what about the next good entry point? iīve been buying small amounts at whatever price. But in a few days i might have a bit more to get in so any ideias on the best price? will it go sub 100 again? ot those days are over? Thanx

I cannot understand why dash has any traction. Can someone ELI5 for me? It makes me concerned that I may be fundamentally misunderstanding, well, everything.
Dash has been successful in only one sense: Understanding that what the masses actually want is horseshit wrapped in a logo. The argument could just as easily be applied to many manifestations of mainstream culture: McDonalds, iPhone, Coke, Budweiser, Hollywood remakes, Disney, etc. People generally love shit.If there is wisdom to be extrapolated it is that Monero needs to be aesthetically as advanced as any other piece of crap out there, and the gift of privacy/fungibility can be injected to an otherwise ignorance audience regardless. Brand and image requires as much attention from the Monero intelligentsia as cryptography, and much like the establishment of the Monero logo (99 designs) it will most likely require pushing to visual design experts. I say this, because I've been spending the last week or so redesigning the Monero subreddit which I intend to push to the community in the next couple of weeks. To be frank, the current subreddit looks kinda shitty, and it has sparked inspiration in me at least to review Monero's collective capacity to compete with mainstream brands. (It's do-able with the right mindset.) Your efforts are much appreciated and incredibly worthwhile. I agree with the thrust of what you say; Monero needs better marketing. That said, it must be in character and distinctive - Monero is special. For me it's not so much about marketing as it is about branding and visual design. I can kinda do a lot of the marketing myself through word of mouth and other renegade tactics, providing the branding and stylistics are on point. My golden rule tends to be: "Can I sell this to the girl next door and the Japanese?" If the answer is Yes and Yes.... then I know it's a winner. You sound like the right person for the job! Arguably Monero sells itself, but with so much crypto noise out there, it is right we must look good, too. Crucial, even. There are few going around, saying they love Monero's coding (even if that is what we rely upon) - so you are quite right that looks will help us spread the word - anything you can do that makes a smidgen of difference will help. Whenever people (normal ones:)) praise BTC i tend to agree with them stating that is veru very good and right after talk about the better BTC, Monero. so that new money when gets in through BTC passes along to monero trying to bypass all that crypto noise you were talking about.

Guys, what do u think of the so called " crypto bubble " , i hear so much about the bubble the last 6 months... i have to admid , i fear the bursting bubble a bit but on the other hand, i cant seem to believe it will burst already ... more and more people see btc or crypto as a safe haven ... in my opinion i think it all has to begin yet ...
any other opinions?
Price is not a very useful indicator for gauging bubbles. I think the only really useful way to think about bubbles is to ask things like: How many of your neighbors own crypto? What about your family? Co workers? Does the corner shop accept any crypto as payment? What about the food lion? What about the walmart? There may be corrections on the way up to be sure. But we can't be in true bubble territory until a significant number of normal people have bought in. Normal people....as opposed to? myself:)

I took bitcoin as an example but we can talk about cryptocurrency that will solve the problem of scalability. So are there any problem theoretically speaking substituting dollars with a cryptocurrency?
Theoretically no. But the problem i see if you are looking at a simple "replacement" is all this years of accumulation of fiat and printing of new bills to maintain price. How can you replace something that as no value with something that is scarse and theoretically non inflationary. I think we can see at least a change in our finantial and monetary system, if not a small revolution.

I' ll take bitcoin as an example.
Is it mandatory that the value of all bitcoins is equal to the value of the world economy?
Can this value be archived before all the bitcoins are mined?
When I buy bitcoin someone will take my dollars. So how can we technically replace all dollars with the bitcoins? In the end will there always be someone with only dollars in their pockets or am i wrong?
A currency is just a debt title. Someone gets a service from you and "writes" you a debt title. then you take that and aquire something from someone else. BTC can replace that with some advantages - Itīs decentralized and not inflationary. However it has to overcome itīs scalability problems. Moreover it should be more stable, price wise and fungible to become a real currency for everyday use.
