It's time to stop calling Bitcoin "new technology". It's 13 years old. And blockchain hype started in 2015, so it has been 7 years since that.
As long has many haven't still seen the use of the technology and as long as it still remains a mystery to many it is a new technology until it becomes a toy that can be accessible and appreciated by all then we can discard the old name. Many around the world still don't understand what satoshi's innovation has brought about some still see it as a sort of ponzi.

Except blockchain doesn't really work outside of Bitcoin. The point of mining is to synchronize a large and open network of nodes. If it's a small private network, you don't need that. So blockchain minus mining is just a data structure that is append only, which is rather primitive and not desirable in many cases, because it's redundant and doesn't allow changing the data.
Minus mining Bitcoin is a file that works as a read and append only file and  this is where mining comes in to prove the authenticity of the file been appended by a proof of work alogrithm on the Blockchain network. Ensuring it's validite through a digital voting system achieved through consensus

Tight competition in the top standings, one point difference between the 3 teams to fight for the title this season. Not to mention seeing Juventus who pushed up the rankings to occupy a Champions League ticket. They also have to compete with Atalanta who are only 2 points apart. But Atalanta are at the advantage as they have 1 game ahead of Juventus. It's an interesting competition here.
A very interesting competition until the end of the season, it would be a shame to miss it, because for now the three clubs have to elbow each other, these three clubs have the same chance to win the title this year, but according to my prediction AC Milan is more profitable than Napoli and inter, because Inter Milan had to fight in the champions league against Liferpol in the round of 16, Napoli also had a busy schedule, Napoli were met with Barcelona in the European Cup, while AC Milan is now only focusing on their domestic league, so I dare to predict AC Milan will be able to lifting the trophy this year..
Ac Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli wow what a tight combat Ac milan might want to secure the leagues title by all  means since the are no longer in the champions leaugue but it is going to be a very tight competition as the margin between the top 3 is too tight for any further loss or draw from Ac Milan this one league that will have lots of expectations and any slight mistake might be costly on any of the three teams
1603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: February 16, 2022, 02:08:58 PM
PSG 1-0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid victory over PSG in the first leg with a score of 1-0 for me is a natural thing.
The 1-0 score is certainly a normal score when the two big teams compete, but for PSG, the 1-0 score is very valuable in the face of the second round.
This is cleary Mbappe against Maldrid. i was really not impressed at the match. I was expecting to see the Titans of the French leauge against the Table toppers of the Spanish league but it was sad Maldrid couldn't get an attempt on target. Mbappe was just an outright intimidator to the full maldrid team. lets await the second leg.
1604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: February 16, 2022, 01:53:52 PM
Atletico will reclaim the 4th position in the standings which is now held by Barcelona through the match against Levante. Levante itself is a team that has performed poorly this season, they only recorded 1 win and made them occupy the bottom position of the standings with 11 points. It will be an easy game for Atletico Madrid. They are superior in every way to Levante. And they will get full points in this match.
And Athletico Maldrid might still hold on to the fourth position or even go higher if the keep their winnings straight because Barcelona who currentlt holds the fourth position will play against Valencia on sunday which will definitely be  a difficult one except Barcelona possibly wins. Levante should be a very easy walkover for Athletico as Levante has had a horrible league this season as the comfortably chill at the bottom of the table
1605  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a way to actually get to know the real price of Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2022, 01:36:58 PM
Bitcoin was solely built for the purpose to eliminate the third party and yet we let the third party[i.e. exchanges] decide the price of Bitcoin today.

Bitcoin & Cryptos come with a downside of manipulation
bitcoin wasn't intended to have an intrinsic value of it's own it still relies on fiat to attain a value but your non custodial wallet gives you full privacy to your bitcoin and this non custodial wallet have saved the issues of this third party as most non custodial wallet provide the exact bitcoin prices even  as prices fluctuates

Quote
This, in turn, raises the price of Bitcoin, and meanwhile, the order is still not completed, the Whale "A" gets a good position to sell some bitcoins which again dumps the price. Now again the Whale has a good position to Buy the same bitcoin he/she sold at a very lower price.

This is what happens when you have big Bitcoins in your hands.

Aside from this many exchanges also manipulate the price of Bitcoin by creating fake Buy/Sell orders.

Is there a way to actually predict the price of Bitcoin?

consider using Data from the Blockchain itself, for eg. the Timestamp of the block, mining revenue, cost of the electricity consumed to mine the blocks, Difficulty in the hash rate, etc.
Forget the whales what controls the market is demand and supply in every economy including Bitcoin. The whales don't manipulate the market rather the bitcoin market responds to the demand and supply curve which means anyone with the highest offer can also make the market dance to any direction with the whole process published on the distributed ledger that is not altered or manipulative
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / One Remarkable thing about Bitcoin on: February 16, 2022, 01:12:29 PM
In the present econometric society where compromised and unreliable database has stirred up doubts and trust issues amongst citizens in a  centralized society came a technology that actually proved integrity can be maintained using a distributed ledger that runs on a decentralized network  doing this through a proof of work algorithm to achieve a global consensus which has been a major challenge in all manipulative and controlled centralized database in any distributed computing.

Bitcoin birth has triggered lots of inquisitiveness to the mystery behind the technology even though cryptography existed as far back as 1990s, this early cryptographic discoveries didn't see any significant progress because it was tied down to a centralized value (basically gold and fiat) after its creation this gave room to different manipulations and compromise making sure the poor never had access to play part in the big game so the can always keep the masses in check.

what has bitcoin got to do with this:
Satoshi has cleared the doubt that transparent, well trusted  and reliable database can be generated in a decentralized network where no central third party serve as an intermediary how? it is simple by solving the Byzantine General's problem which is a process where a collective network of individuals or central authority tries to effect a change, follow  a course of action or make a general agreement on the state of a system on a highly compromised and unreliable network.

[/b] How was satoshi able to solve this?[/b]
Satoshi was able to solve this big economic issue by introducing a decentralized public ledger that relies on a proof of work algorithm to establish any valid consensus. Which means nothing on the network is hidden and no process can be undone since tampering with a single data on the blockchain will affect every other entry down to the genesis block rendering the whole database void and all this approach don't need a central authority to decide which data comes first rather than a consensus of the nodes on the network even satoshi himself doesn't have autonomy over the network what a selfless service

Why should this be your concern
A new technology is launched and is creping into our financial institution gradually it might not necessarily replace the fiat currency but one this i am excited about is that on the long run it will spring up innovations to improve on the centralization issues and still give more edge to bitcoin adoption either as a technology, a currency , an asset or a network which ever way Bitcoin will get more adoption. cheers!!
1607  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy more so you can sell some on: February 15, 2022, 06:52:31 PM
So there is no harm pushing yourself hard to put some money in crypto savings for long term hodling.
When it comes to investment it mustn't be convenient as long as risk is managed. it's better doing the savings in crypto than leaving it in fiat that never yields increase instead you get charged for stamp duties and other related charges although crypto too is not stable as price fluctuates but a good bullish move can save a heavy stress on a long run

1609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Purpose on: February 15, 2022, 10:25:12 AM
According to Bitcoin's purpose on the doc written by Satoshi, it stated the purpose of Bitcoin as a P2P medium of exchange. But I see some companies using it for the purchase of Goods and Services which makes some governments interested in its regulations because the economy is involved.

Is this purpose going to take a turnaround?
Because I see Bitcoin being accepted by some governments and regulated.
peer-2-peer as intended by satoshi is to is create a payment network between two parties that is devoid of a third party intermediary which implies it can be between any two party possibly two friends, two businesses, companies or any organisation that has bitcoin and want to make payment for virtually anything without relying on a central authority. Government regulation fighting against the p2p exchange is because it presents anonymous transaction but there is little that can be done about this
1610  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mempool clearity on: February 15, 2022, 10:11:48 AM
OP's question was about validation rather than of confirmation. Sad

Adding to the block (which you'll also see as part of OP) is mining. That's why in the same post I've replied to you, I've also asked OP to re-write his questions in a clearer manner, because his question looks like an odd mix (and possibly mix up) of mining and validation.

However, Danny was nice to write a super detailed explanation, so I have high hopes that all is clear now.
My question was centered more on the confirmation of the verified transactions but i have gotten the full explanation to the question from DannyHamilton explanation using the two transaction instances. He explained sighting an instance of not spending a coin you dont own(ECDSA) that assuming a bitcoin user has 1.0 BTC in a wallet and decides to spend 0.7BTC in one transaction and also spends another 0.6 BTC in a different transaction from the same available coin now a node verifies the first transaction not been aware of the second transaction and it gets added to the mempool and a different node verifies the second transaction and adds it to the mempool not been aware of the first transaction both transactions now exists in the mempool awaiting verification. and since both transaction are been relayed to the mempool by different miners the get verified.
Quote
The first miner will relay the first transaction to the nodes he is connected to. Some of the network will start to hear about that transaction and add it to their mempools.  The second miner will relay the second transaction to the nodes he is connected to. Some of the network will start to hear about that transaction and add it to their mempools. Eventually, someone that already has the first transaction in their mempool will receive the second transaction from a node they are connected to.  Since they already have the first transaction, the second transaction will appear invalid to them and they will reject it.  Eventually, someone that already has the second transaction in their mempool will hear about the first transaction from a node they are connected to.  Since they already have the second transaction, the first transaction will appear invalid to them and they will reject it. We now have a situation where some portion of the entire bitcoin network believes that I sent 0.7 BTC, and the remainder of the bitcoin network believes that I only sent 0.6 BTC.
Since both transaction is within the same network of nodes a miner who was in consensus to the first transaction confirmation will eventually notice the second transaction which would automatically make the second transaction invalid this a very reliable network as long as genuie nodes are more than the attacking node as the integrity of the network depend on them thank you all i keep learning daily

Manchester United are having difficulties in Winning matches lately. Also, their performance lately haven't been impressive, especially in their last match which was against Southampton, they could not win despite playing with their first 11 players. But, I think they will surely fight for a winning tomorrow against Brighton. However, if Ralf Rangnick fails to build a strategy that will enable them to win matches. Then, they won't be able to advance to the next round of the Champions League, and will also lost their current place on the standings.

I'm also not so sure about the prediction of United's victory against Brighton in the next match.  Yesterday's condition was quite a slap in the face for a club of their size, by buying expensive players for performance but it didn't go well.  The coordination of each team is very weak, the attacking side is strong the defensive side is weak, the defensive side is strong the attacking side is weak.  Conditions that do not strengthen each other weaken each other.
predicting Manchester united games is getting more risky by the day. Yesterdays draw was a product of less coordination. Brighton is another game awaiting united ahead Rangnick should make good use of his team he has one of the best team getting to know more about their best wings and when not use a player or which players are  best paired will give him a better edge ahead.

Today bilbao has a chance to take the seventh position they are in a good shape they didn't lose in a long time and they will be facing mallorca who are close to the relegation zone with really poor results except last game were they beated cadiz at home i think bilbao can win this one.
The away team Bilbao is taking the seventh position its clear beyond prediction they have been in a good shape and Mallorca is obviously going on relegation if the don't improve in future matches but as for the match against Bilbao is a lose at home a full 3 points for the away team
1613  Economy / Economics / Re: MENTAL HEALTH ANG WELLBEING on: February 14, 2022, 04:49:32 PM
The pandemic changed a lot around the world, it affected our human interactions and changed the pattern of business, brought in isolation and social distancing cutting down social gatherings and lots more. Watching after each other and adhering to the laid down covid-19 rules is the only option to survive and stay fit
1614  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Mempool clearity on: February 14, 2022, 11:42:17 AM
I just need a little clarity on the mempool transactions. If a transaction is already verified wouldn't it be automatically added to the previously hashed block what other confirmation is actually needed if the nodes on the network has already verified the transaction I got confused with the concept so I decided to do a share here to get more clearity. Who else is responsible for the confirmation since the nodes has done the verification already?
1615  Economy / Economics / Re: 2022 Savings and investment plan on: February 13, 2022, 06:27:00 PM
Crypto is a risk venture and some altcoin(shitcoins) are mostly manipulative assets I think at this point crypto should be based on individual analysis except for a few coin in which bitcoin, Bnb, Eth is inclusive we could still have more but I mostly recommend investors to invest on other coins based on their own research. its generally a risk taking business but some are really worth it.
1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wouy you improve about Bitcoin if you had the chance ? on: February 13, 2022, 06:15:07 PM
if there is really no need for any improvement then whats the need for Bitcoin improvement proposal just like the bip-21 which is obviously a proposal from developers to improve bitcoin uniform resource identifier (URI) scheme which could include mobile wallets with QR-codes. This was what bathed my curiousity. can I get clearity on this concept and why it can't be applicable to private keys as well
1617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: February 13, 2022, 06:03:49 PM
Betis its having the best season in a while, i feel good for they and more for the manager Manuel Pellegrini he really work so good in all the teams he was.
Top-3 in La Liga its not easy i know Barca and Atletico are in one of his worst season in the last time and that its correct but Betis its doing a great job anyways.
For today i see a simple Barca win and Real Sociedad needs the win like water.
predictions like this I am always sceptical. I prefer playing both team to win as it feel more comfortable. Betis had their best game today winning levante  with a clean 2-4 margin. I think there are some changes in Barcelona lately but playing against espanyol is not an easy game. Real Sociedad  is playing zeros already with two yellow card against Granda I can't tell how it ends but I hope Real Sociedad  gets the point
1618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 12, 2022, 12:24:55 PM
This is not something new it's quite obvious that the odds of winning a multi bet are lower than a single bet,but the multiplier is higher and that's why people go for them.

Multiplier the greed factor. The multiplied odd is what makes the betting longer and make bettors wants to add more bets to their list not knowing we are also making the margin of the bookmakers bigger and also the chances of the bettors slimmer. But what is bet if it's not risky? Even placing a single bet could be risky as well and the odd smaller it's best to stick to the bigger risk so that if it eventually clicks then the malls could be shot down
1619  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has become a lifeline for sex workers on: February 12, 2022, 11:48:55 AM
The fiat system governed by banking institution is now switching people attention to crypto currency adoption as the day goes by making individuals see the need to go use crypto as the keep making their services unbearable and making even more tighter laws. Going by the story if there was no issues of restrictions on sex workers account there might not have seen the need for crypto currency and since fiat is more stable the would love to stick to it but their frustrations made them see the reason the should switch to crypto currency since there is no middle man to freeze or ban their accounts and they can actually keep any amount the choose to as long as the wish without anyone asking for their source of income.
1620  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Keep calm and buy the dip! Told yah. on: February 12, 2022, 11:26:53 AM
Have you ever bought the dip, but then the price breaks through the support and continues dropping deeper for weeks or months?  Grin
Well, I have done it before.
I don't think people can easily catch the "absolute" dip, but if someone does manage to buy at the most perfect time, I assume it's just pure luck. And I'm speculating that almost everyone here has been in a situation where they bought the dip only to discover that there is another wave of distribution coming.

The best way to take advantage of this opportunity, in my opinion, is to place multiple buying orders at different price ranges that you believe are support/supply zone candidates. This also implies that the size of your purchase order is determined by the probability and accuracy of your T.A.
Taking multiple buying orders is just the way to tackle the crypto market. No one  can accurately predict the market even technical analysis fails atimes, the best you can get is speculations, so instead of buying because you feel that's the dip it's best to buy and wait for the next market decision if it falls further then you buy more if it moves bullish wait for a retest to buy again. Never chase a trade crypto is patience.
