1101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever thought of doing your thesis on Gambling ? on: July 02, 2022, 03:08:22 PM
Not all degree will allow you to make a thesis about gambling stuff especially your degree has nothing to do about it. If you're an IT, economic and law degree, then it's possible you create a thesis about gambling. However it also depends on where you live, if you live in where gambling are prohibited, then your thesis will got auto rejected.
Thesis on gambling can be done in all discipline the key factor is finding how it help tackle gambling addiction as it is more of a global concern therefore will fit into any discipline at all .  I don't think any country will reject  thesis on gambling no matter how strict their laws are on gambling because it is done as a research that will give even a better conclusion on how to handle gambling in their locality.
1102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bottom? on: July 02, 2022, 02:03:31 PM
Now that Michael Saylor and El Salvador have purchased BTC at $19,000, we can be certain that the bottom is nowhere near
Don't get trapped by the Bulls. El Salvador and Micheal Saylor are just applying DCA and nothing much. The Bottom is no where near yet. We should likely expect a longer bear candle any time soon. Their purchase will only have effect on short term trades and investments. Have this in mind both parties bought with large sum and could close up with a little increase in price. Small capital investors are meant to have good price timing the bottom could be far from here
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 02, 2022, 01:47:15 PM
now come to think of it since it is difficult to escape our genetic makeup,
- Would you blame an individual who becomes addicted to gambling because it is wired to his DNA?

-Can their gambling problem be put in check by regular methods?

-Will the addiction be worse than someone who picked up the habit?
Gambling can be inherited but the addictive part is a gradual development. If we do a close analysis females are less addicted to gambling even when the inherit this traits than the males reasons been that while this two genders with this traits grow one gets occupied with other activities and seldomly gamble while the other makes it an occupation or a perpetual habit. Gambling addiction is picked and as such it can be checked handled.
1104  Economy / Economics / Re: The BTC price must stabilize in the long run. on: July 02, 2022, 12:59:18 PM
Banishing volatility is similar to killing any form of hypes and sentiments, maintaining a static demand and supply curve as well as ignoring any form of government regulation which is like taking the fun part of investment away from the market with the last factor been impossible. if we consider having this occur naturally then demand and supply curve has to be manipulative. As long as users and price keep maintaining infection point at interval prices will never stabilize. Bitcoin is already a big shock to the society as such it is almost too late to start a gradual introduction because many who were misinformed has the mindset that bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme. If altcoins that fails to stabilize disappears the chances of recording more suicidal case might be on the increase.

1105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 02, 2022, 06:17:45 AM
Actually in this case there is no reason for Ronaldo to leave especially for Roma.
Even though it's the worst possibility now that Ronaldo has moved from MU, it's clear that his choice is not Roma.
The reason is quite clear, he wants to gain experience and doesn't want to be separated from the Champions League and Roma certainly can't do that so why would he leave if he still can't be in the Champions League.
If Ronaldo leaves for Roma (although chances are slim ) he might not be too worried about playing in the champions league. He might be yarning for a different adventure in the Seria A. So far Ronaldo has achieved a lot that one more season of not lifting the CL trophy might not mean much to him. He could have something bigger he is hoping to achieve with José Mourinho. Perhaps if Ronaldo remains in united he won't still play in the champions league
1106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and MLM Schemes on: July 01, 2022, 07:13:41 PM
I just heard that gambling is just like MLM schemes as people only loses both in gambling and MLM schemes ?
Is it true ?
Multi-level marketing is strategic and works perfect in a well structured organization except for organizations that are not licensed then funds could be at high risk. Loses on MLM schemes can also be said to be subject to failed marketing tactics.. Every level comes with it's own benefits. It is like a ladder to success whereas  Gambling on the other hand rely on probability, luck and less strategy hence  the difference don't match up at all
1107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: July 01, 2022, 07:03:37 PM
Wonderful Tips Op. I will just add this an addict should be willing and open to accepting new ideas and suggestions that can distract them from anything that relates to gambling while the recover from this addictions. The first step is obviously admitting the have a problem and next is willing to under go the process that will help them recover. Addiction sometimes comes like fun and adventure before it explodes into full blown challenge.
1108  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: waiting to buy lower? on: July 01, 2022, 06:13:40 PM
People are waiting to buy lower, but what if you're wrong and this is the bottom?

You never know what's going to happen next.
If this happens to be Bitcoin bottom then a new bull trend will prove the fact. I rather wait to get a signal the trend has changed than get stuck in the middle of a continuous bear market. No one can accurately tell what trend is likely to form after this range market but what ever comes the candle sticks will give a better picture. Fake breakouts will get so many confused of the next decision of the market
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM on: July 01, 2022, 06:09:00 PM
This Bitcoin ATMS are kiosks that connects to the Bitcoin networks. They don't dispense cash rather the  allow their customers purchase Bitcoin with deposited cash. Buyers will typically scan a quick response (QR) code corresponding to their own bitcoin wallet address, to which purchased coins are transferred. My discomfort with this machines is how fat their percentage are. It only require customers with reasonable amount of Cash to pay for this high percentages. I wish the charge could be regulated or a better

1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: June 30, 2022, 05:19:05 PM
Fake money will only increase the appetite for an addict to gamble with real money. Taking a break will help faster and can also help reduce the addictive nature of gambling. A better option is to engage the addict with some thing that has no business with gambling possibly making them spend more time around their family and loved ones other than suggesting placing bets with fake money
1111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Pros and Cons of Bitcoin Gambling on: June 30, 2022, 05:02:53 PM

Now that all of us have an idea about the Pros and cons according to the source link,  I'd like to ask something to anyone here in the forum.

- Is it convenient to play in the Bitcoin Gambling?
Bitcoin gambling has brought more convenience to the gambling sector curbing the challenge of fiat exchange rates across different countries. Since Bitcoin can be accessed from any part of the world it has made deposit and withdrawals more convinient.

Quote
- How does Bitcoin gambling work?
- Does Bitcoin Gambling can give a good opportunity to everyone?

Bitcoin gambling works just the same as fiat gambling does the only peculiar difference is in the ease to withdrawal from any part of the world and also the benefit of having your profit either appreciate or depreciate depending on the state of the market trend

Quote
- if you become addicted to gambling can it be said that it is a good result even though there is an advantage if you play in the Bitcoin
  gambling

Bitcoin gambling for me is just a matter of Fun or amusement in accordance with my insight with this.
Hope every one can give other tips on this matter..
Addiction is a big problem that has high chances of causing suicide. Gambling remains what it is no matter what currency you choose to gamble with be it fiat or crypto. Been responsible enough to know when to take a break and when to stop is what makes gambling fun
1112  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto Exchanges on: June 30, 2022, 04:46:57 PM
I don't think exchanges cares much about who is willing to empty their portfolio due to the market trend except for exchanges that operate without license who might start picturing shorting down their exchange to do away with investors coins. But who will bother giving exchanges their assets? Always remember not your keys not your coin be responsible for your coin. perhaps Bitcoin can't fall to a price where exchanges will be tempted to halt withdrawals
1113  Economy / Economics / Re: How would a global economic recession affect Bitcoin's price? on: June 30, 2022, 04:29:30 PM
Some crypto investors might probably sell or convert their cryptocurrencies into fiat to have cash in hand in this situation where recession occurs. However, things might be different to other investors who decided to convert crypto to fiat not because they need cash but rather they need to cut loss or
to put a stop on their trading activities to avoid future loses.
Also, there will be investors who will decide to hold as this recession might ignite or probably goes in a different direction for cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin which the OP stated.
There is high panicking around the crypto industry. Converting crypto to fiat is becoming a norm as price of digital assets keeps devaluating . Global Economic Recession has also contributed to the rate at which investors convert their crypto to fiats due to high inflation. Traders who converts their crypto to fiat are somehow contributing to the panic as the supply is gaining more grounds making the resistance zone form series of lower highs.
1114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the physically challenged be exempted from bitcoin? on: June 30, 2022, 08:39:34 AM
I consider how bitcoin adoption is ever increasing each day despite bitcoin running dip in price, many people have seen and taken the good advantage in using the digital currency for many reasons that best suit their needs, now i consider this set of physically challenged people (blind, deaf and dumb) who may also want to make good opportunity out of it for an adoption, as we all know they would have heard about bitcoin but not knowing how to go about it, should we consider them in participating from this great benefits in bitcoin or assume an exemption for them.

Why do i need to raise this is because i have centers allocated for these set of people from my location here and i see it a good advantage for them to as well participate in using bitcoin but to be sincere i lack the first move to helping this challenged people out and i see bitcoin as a currency that shouldn't have a barrier of usage just as the fiat is.

I will like to hear from our suggestions, various ways we can use to aid these set of people (blind, deaf, dumb) to know about bitcoin, and if there are instructional materials or steps that could help facilitate their awareness to bitcoin, its uses and application.
Physical disabilities shouldn't be a criteria to exempt people from technology. The challenge with passing information to this class of citizens is the cost of sending this information across to them. The have various learning aids the use and this devices are quite expensive. It can only be easier in countries where Bitcoin is legalized because the government and well to do citizens can take it upon themselves to ensure they too get the right knowledge on how bitcoin works, the technology behind it and how to make profit from it on long term and short term goals
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it possible to control Gambling behaviors? on: June 29, 2022, 11:43:15 PM
In brief, You can deal well with your gambling problems by learning about it, addressing it, controlling what might drive you to gambling, and then getting support.

Is this possible according to your opinion and what are the tips that can be followed?
One can also deal with gambling problem by discussing it with close relatives, friends, psychiatrists and specialist therapists. It is possible to deal with addiction the first step is admitting that there is a problem and second is seeking a solution. When it comes to issues related to gambling addiction it all starts by trying to recover from lost bets and gradually it begins to accumulate. Having a budget will help avoid anything that seem to represent addiction in gambling
1116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: June 29, 2022, 11:32:44 PM
~snip~
One big difference between Maradona's era and the current era is the level of professionalism. It was far easier back in the 80s for one exceptional player to carry a team, as Maradona did particularly in Italia 90. Nowadays teams are a lot more professional, with better tactics, better fitness etc... and it's tougher even for the best player in the world to make the same difference. Messi is certainly at the Maradona level, it's just that the opposition has improved.

Yeah, I agree with that.

Messi has made very similar goals to the iconic ones from Maradona that everyone remembers. I would even say that Messi has better technical skills than Maradona.

But still I wouldn't say Messi is at the iconic level of Maradona.

That's why Messi is one of the best players in the world, but Maradona is remembered as D10S (God).
I love the word professionalism in comparing Maradona's era to the current era. Maradona remains an Icon in the history of soccer. During Maradona's era there were no much technology to assist referees and linesman so carrying a team was much easier compared to this present era where AI has taken over everything on the pitch even down to goal line technology. It is more difficult now because of the high level of tactics. If Maradona was in this present era he would have still done better but not with the might he used in the 80s
1117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "I'll wait for the dip!" - The Crypto Noob Cycle on: June 29, 2022, 11:17:39 PM
This is where investment plan is necessary. The different trends comes with their own FOMO. The Noob cycle you described is a typical life of a new crypto investor or lets say a less experienced investor who doesn't understand how prices move and what controls them. The idea is to buy as cheap as possible with the aim of selling when the highs begin to set in.

No one can accurately tell what the best dip will fall to, the question an average investor should consider answering is at what price will they buy and will not regret if the price keeps falling. It is similar to answering the question how much can you afford to lose. But in this case an amount that you can comfortably buy bitcoin at with the mind of hodling no matter how low the price keeps falling to.
1118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When to take profit? on: June 29, 2022, 10:54:43 PM
I have read a lot lately of many people saying they did not take enough profit when the highs came in November last year and I don’t want to be one of them people and having regrets when the next bull run comes. I have been accumulating a lot over the last 4 weeks to bring my average price down on all the cryptos I own so that when the bull run does come it will not take a lot for me to double my investments and bank some profit.

Would be interesting to hear everyone’s thoughts.
I don't know what crypto class you are referring to but if you intend holding Bitcoin then you should have a personal target atmost a price higher than the previous ATHs. The next bull run will come with so much anxiety, FUD, FOMO, JOMO and lots of it. Keeping your profit margin realistic will help keep your profit target feasible

Quote
I am thinking of taking out my initial investment when I double my money and just leaving the profit to see what returns I can get long term. Is that a common way or is it best to just take small amounts at a time?
Long term wait is preferred because once you begin taking profit at interval you alter your entry point and might stand a risk of Buying higher than you were meant to
1119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: DCA? on: June 29, 2022, 10:09:48 PM
With highly volatile assets like Bitcoin DCAing is inevitable. For me on a long term investment goal it is highly strategic is helps in catching up with good entry prices in the downtrend. For as long as the downtrend exists i can't avoid to DCA until my fund gets exhausted and even yet if the down trend persist i don't mind taking profit while i strategize to join the trend in a better lows
1120  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin anonymous or private? on: June 27, 2022, 07:29:13 PM
In the world of transaction it is believed that an anonymous transaction is one where the intermediary third party does not know the issuer and payer and a private transaction as one with hidden information on why a transaction was made, the date of the transaction and the amount sent.

if we take our decentralized coin (Bitcoin) for instance that is solely P2P, the amount of coin own on our respective wallet is limitless provided it is not centralized giving us complete privacy to how much of the coin we own. But in the case of its transaction the public ledger provides a timestamp to every transaction made on the blockchain with the respective addresses, amount and time sent.

If we say Bitcoin is anonymous how many Bitcoin users use DEXs. DEXs aside as long as identities are no where recorded on the blockchain we can say Bitcoin is anonymous. But how anonymous is bitcoin?
Since Bitcoin address owners need to reveal their identities during business when payment of goods and services are been made during transaction then it can't be said to be fully anonymous. OR is the anonymous nature of Bitcoin just restricted to third party intermediaries?

What will we say then is Bitcoin, anonymous or private?
