1601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: June 25, 2017, 06:47:07 PM
I do not think that this will happen. They will rather complement each other, rather than displace someone.

Yes. This is exactly what is going to happen in the future. Paypal and Bitcoin serve different purposes. PayPal will be in use, and it will be used by those merchants and buyers who want reversible transactions. On the other hand, those who don't want their transactions to be reversed will use Bitcoins to make the payments.
1602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Stabilizes at $2,700, Another Surge Imminent? on: June 25, 2017, 06:42:38 PM
Many people are expecting a flash crash and a fast recovery after the fork is implemented. In that sense if you hold 2BTC for example it would be good to liquidate one of them in order to take advantage of the situation if you believe we'll face the correction. Buying low is always nice  Roll Eyes

What if there is no crash and the prices zoom to $6,000 per coin? In that case, your BTC2.00 holding will be reduced to BTC1.50. Just wait for a few more weeks, until the picture becomes clear. No one knows how the fork will be received by the Bitcoin community.
1603  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Africa should be nuked, all evil originated there on: June 25, 2017, 06:40:32 PM
I genuinely cannot think of one single thing Africa has inflicted on me. My ancestors certainly inflicted plenty on Africa.

So from where did your ancestors came from? I am not certain, because a lot of people exploited the Africans throughout its history. First, it was the Arabs and the Persians. After that, it was the turn of the Europeans (especially the British, Portuguese, French and the Spanish). And now the Chinese are exploiting the Africans.
1604  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: June 25, 2017, 06:37:26 PM
Islam gave me a new car. I have sold it now. 1/4 of buy price. Volkswagen Polo. I think it's funny.
...
Hey, if you sign up for the cult you get a car?

Lot of people will be interested in that deal.

I don't know whether they provide cars or not. But in my area, some of the people who converted to Islam were given bank loans worth around $20,000. It is not completely free, but they were given loans without any guarantee and they don't have to pay any interest (i.e interest-free loans). I asked someone how can these people afford this. He told me that the money is coming from Qatar.
1605  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: June 25, 2017, 06:34:09 PM
If the government can provide security to its citizens, then there is no need for guns. But as of now, most of the governments can't do that. Either they are unable to provide security for the civilians, or they are not interested in doing the same. So the civilians have no option other than defending themselves using legally available firearms.
1606  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-01]Bitcoin Exchange Coinbase Stops Services in Hawaii Due to “Untenable on: June 23, 2017, 10:02:27 AM
These government authority people are idiots. They don't know that it is impossible to ban Bitcoin. How can you ban a digital asset? If it was a physical asset, then it was somewhat possible. Now just wait and see what the Hawaiian Coinbase users are going to do. They will get around the ban easily.
1607  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-20] This high school dropout who invested in bitcoin at $12 is now a... on: June 23, 2017, 09:59:27 AM
Nowadays school/college education is getting increasingly worthless. I know a lot of university graduates, who have been struggling to land a job for the past several years. Anyway, it is better to work for yourselves rather than working for a corporation or an entity.
1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will continue to decline...dont buy Ethereum.. on: June 23, 2017, 09:52:30 AM
Only a small part of the Ethereum market cap is being actively traded. Some large holders are keeping a very significant portion of the ETH in their cold storage. When they decides to dump these coins, the exchange prices are going to crash like crazy.
1609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legalization in India....incoming price inflation! on: June 23, 2017, 09:50:47 AM
The news from Coin Telegraph is wrong. I have enquired about it, and my Indian friends have told me that the government is yet to make a decision on legalizing the Bitcoins. In general they were skeptical, given the hostile nature of the Reserve Bank of India towards the crypto-currencies.
1610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoins today and be a millionaire in the future! on: June 23, 2017, 09:48:33 AM
Going up to $1,000 per coin from $0.10 per coin was easy. But after that it is going to be difficult. In four years, we managed to reach $2,700 from $1,000. I would say that it was a good growth. But after this, what is going to happen? I guess that the exchange rates will continue to rise, but at a slower pace.
1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: June 23, 2017, 09:46:15 AM
I think that for storing such a large volume of Bitcoins, the only safe option is multiple hardware wallets. But I am not that familiar with hardware wallets either. I know that they can't be hacked. But is it possible to store the backups in multiple locations? What will happen if the hardware gets corrupted?
1612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin started taking capsule hotels in Japan on: June 23, 2017, 09:42:47 AM
This is the first time that I am hearing about these "capsule hotels", so I spent some time in YouTube and Google researching about it. I was surprised with what I found. These Japanese people.. they are really weird. But anyway, I am glad that more and more places are accepting Bitcoin.
1613  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you eat a human? on: June 23, 2017, 09:38:57 AM
Almost threw up after reading the first post. I don't think that I'll ever be able to do it. But I am not 100% sure, as there is no surety if you face a life or death situation. Even then, how can anyone eat their own species? Even animals don't do it.
1614  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is God male or female? on: June 23, 2017, 09:36:46 AM
Neither the males, nor the females are happy with the god. So I assume that he/she is transsexual. Actually, the OP should have added a poll with four options - male, female, shemale, and unknown. Anyway, the majority of the world religions believe that god was male. Jesus Christ, Allah, Prophet Mohammed, Moses and Buddha were men. And regarding Hinduism, it is very complicated, as I think they have some 333 million gods.
1615  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell Bitcoin ahead of 1st Aug Hard Fork on: June 21, 2017, 06:51:13 AM
Mark my words. Nothing is going to happen on August 1, if SegWit reaches 80% consensus. Most of those who were prone to selling have already done that. There will be no massive sell-off before August 1, and on the other hand, there will be a sharp spike in the exchange rates. IMO, this is the last opportunity to purchase BTC at sub-3,000 levels.
1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: wtf? Blockchain transaction fees is outrageous!!! on: June 21, 2017, 06:31:57 AM
$16 as the default transaction fee? Something fishy here. I know that the transaction fee is high nowadays, but I haven't heard anyone paying that much tx fee for a while. $16 is equivalent to BTC0.006, which is many times bigger than the highest transaction fee I have ever paid (BTC0.001).
1617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money Moving Back into Bitcoin from Alt-Coins on: June 21, 2017, 06:28:53 AM
For now, somewhat. But the week before Aug 01, especially the few days before Aug 01, the money will flow back into alts...mostly the top 10 alts.

I'm bullish on Bitcoin and Monero long-term.

You are wrong. If 80% consensus could be achieved for SegWit (it is at 79.9% right now), then it is not going to matter. What happens in August 1 will be like damp squib. I expect Bitcoin to eat in to the market shares of the alts and rise to somewhere around $5,000 to $10,000 per coin by the end of this year.
1618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold? on: June 21, 2017, 06:25:23 AM
It seems to still have not been able to say that bitcoin better than gold, we all know that gold became the size of a country's wealth, so gold will forever be used and accepted, while the bitcoin is still not able to.

The problem with Bitcoin is that it is a digital asset. Such assets have limited lifespan, as new and better alternatives emerge with time. Look at what happened to the televisions. In the beginning, we were using CRT televisions. They were replaced with LCD and Plasma televisions. These were in turn replaced with LED televisions. In the future, these LED TVs will be replaced by something else. Some thing similar will happen with the crypto-currency as well.
1619  Economy / Economics / Re: Felicia (Sony) Adding Bitcoin Hardware Wallets on: June 21, 2017, 06:07:05 AM
I hope that the Felica Bitcoin Hardware Wallet will be much more affordable than the other hardware wallets, such as Trezor. I badly wanted to purchase one Trezor wallet, but had to give up that idea as it costs around $100. There is no point in purchasing a wallet worth $100 to store $300 worth of coins.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: June 21, 2017, 06:03:11 AM
It is up to the various crypto ventures to advertise about themselves in the TV. Why can't exchanges such as BTC-e, Bitstamp and Kraken purchase a few advertisement slots in the major business TV channels? The same goes for other ventures such as BitPay, Bitify, and Bitpremier.
