People will choose only what is closer to them in understanding and what is available. Bitcoin community is very small, so paypal has every chance of existence. Wink

I don't think that we can compare Bitcoin with PayPal. Bitcoin is a currency, while Paypal is a payment processor. We should be comparing Bitcoin with the United States Dollar, and Bitpay with Paypal. And it is still too early to say whether Bitpay will overtake Paypal.

I do not think that this will happen. They will rather complement each other, rather than displace someone.

These both have no competition because because one is payment system and other is digital currency so comparing is not good both can help each other for more better service and modern technology in future

Simply said, there is not much difference when it comes to the digital currency aspect of both options. PayPal is indeed a payment system/platform, but it allows people to transact with fiat in digital form. It all comes down to person A making use of PayPal to move value from one place to the other, and person B does it with Bitcoin. At the end of the day, both options get the job done similarly. Main difference here is that Bitcoin transactions can't be reversed once they are confirmed, and with PayPal it takes up to 180 days if I'm not mistaken.

u cant get banned from a bitcoin wallet, but u can get banned from PayPal. As paypal continues to fuck over more merchants, and allow fraudulent chargebacks, people are looking at Bitcoin as a payment option
That's correct mate. The chargebacks thing and the limited transaction are moving people to bitcoin. Nevertheless, all of good thing is happening in the world of bitcoin things like many colleges, well-known universities all across the world, higher education, plus private day cares and schools that offer the montessori educational in US are now accepting bitcoin which technical means, bitcoin will overcome the so call paypal just in a couple of years.

No, people are staying with paypal.
Because people want to be able to chargeback if you are getting scammed.

It's merchants that don't want to be bothered with returns and warranty that embrace bitcoin.
I've never ordered something to expensive using bitcoin without being sure I can get my money back.
Both times I used either an escrow or bitpay.

Chargeback feature is not a good thing overall because it can be used to scam people because you can easily get your money back while in bitcoin there is no chargeback and i think even there is no chargeback in bitcoin it is still up to the person on how he can manage his money and how he will be careful in transacting to other people.

Is the whole other way around.
You are getting scammed when you can't get your money back.

I don't like the product I received I received the wrong one I didn't receive anything... what I'm going to do?
Read the laws in developed countries.

You have 30 days in which you can return a product and get your money back with no question asked.
This is normal.

Using bitcoin alone with no escrow is like asking to get ripped off.

Yes. This is exactly what is going to happen in the future. Paypal and Bitcoin serve different purposes. PayPal will be in use, and it will be used by those merchants and buyers who want reversible transactions. On the other hand, those who don't want their transactions to be reversed will use Bitcoins to make the payments.

and i think bitcoin is available everywhere, as i have good example of it. in my country paypal service is not available and therefore bitcoin is more convenient for me to use for payment to online shopping. and therefore i think that for more people it will be convenient to use it.

Both offer very different features.

Bitcoin is an asset, whereas PayPal is only & only a payment processor. Bitcoin can sometimes be used as a payment processor, but that shouldn't be considered its only feature. Of course still, it'd be very risky to purchase some goods through bitcoin, and that's why people choose PayPal for this purpose.

We need websites like eBay/Amazon/Alibaba to accept bitcoin. That could be a success of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is making Visa/Mastercard obsolete so will kill Paypal too.
I don't think so because not all countries making Bitcoin Visa/MasterCard, maybe in your country can kill PayPal but I don't think we can also have here like that. Not all people here are interested in bitcoin, maybe if some companies/mall will open there doors for accepting bitcoin for payment.
If you visit famous shops there are not bitcoin accepting still as people thinking that bitcoin is now accepting all around the world. But in reality it is accepting in some places not in all places where it is required in my opinion.Bitcoin will be on it own place and Paypal will be on it own.

Making visa and mastercard obsolete?
Let me give you 5 reasons it is not

SpectroCoin VISA Debit Card
Uquid VISA Debit Card
BitPay VISA Debit Card
Xapo Debit Card (visa)
Coinbase / Shift Card  (visa).

Not so much killing there.

yes it will be, it is very soon, it is easy to transact with bitcoins rather in paypal. and im using both of it, but my vote was in bitcoin. it is easy for me to earn bitcoin now, and it is easy to make transactions with it. although it is not yet legalize in other countries but still it is better than that. i hopes that it will overcome paypal too.

i hope so in trust that bitcoin will reflect as future payment in some big store.
which means that every transaction can handle by owner wallet, or not need to monitoring by 3rd party.

Probably not everyone is interested in bitcoin, but, that's because of the lack of knowledge with bitcoin. I'm sure, whoever they are, if they know the potential of bitcoin, they will definitely look for bitcoin for their needs. Well, not everyone likes paypal because of its complicated grip, so i guess, there is a big chance bitcoin will exceed paypal.

Agree. There are many people in the world that are unaware that Bitcoin exists. Maybe it is because of the lack of publicity for the cryptocurrency over mainstream media, as well as, necessary education to make it more friendly and easier for novice users.

One thing for sure is that people would become attracted by the high value of Bitcoin, making expand its user base for years to come. While PayPal has been established long before Bitcoin, it doesn't have a token of its own where it could be exchanged and used as a store of value unlike Bitcoin. For merchants that decide to accept Bitcoin, they will have a huge advantage in doing so, as they would make their earnings grow over time when the pioneer cryptocurrency's value rises.

With PayPal, their money would remain stagnant, while with Bitcoin it gets more valuable over time, not to mention the lower fees it has, and its decentralized nature eliminating the potential from governments or other third parties to freeze or get access to your funds. In that part, I believe that Bitcoin would definitely overcome PayPal. To sum it up, Bitcoin has already signaled support for a scalable solution to become active soon, making its chances of becoming a better rival against traditional payment processors one closer than ever. Just my thoughts. Grin

We'll have to wait and see if a scalable solution such as SegWit2x becomes successful and active on the Bitcoin blockchain. If it does, then we could rest assured that the pioneer cryptocurrency will scale for many years to meet the demands of everyday people.

With the 2mb blocksize increase that SegWit2x would implement, transactions would be as fast as they used to be, and fees would be much lower than what they are nowadays. Therefore, all of this would contribute into making Bitcoin bigger and stronger than ever with the possibility of overcoming traditional payment processors like PayPal.

It would be interesting to see a world where cryptocurrencies take the lead of every aspects of our life, eliminating central operators and giving merchants and individuals the freedom to transact in this rapidly evolving world. Imagine if Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies replace not only PayPal, but Visa, MasterCard, and even Western Union. Just sharing my thoughts. Grin
