That's a very different thing to saying that Kristov is going to review XC. ;-)

Every time a transaction is made, a copy of it is stored in the blockchain. The blockchain is stored on every single computer that runs a wallet. If transactions take up a lot of space, or if a coin's technology requires a whole lot of transactions, then the blockchain becomes huge.
Blockchains can't be huge if they're to be stored on a mobile phone. So for real-world usability, a bloat-free blockchain is a central concern.
2. Please explain to me what Blockchain bloat is. My explanation is embedded in your post. Ha ha.

Arlyn you have sayd yourself Atlas was reviewing it on reddit arrrrghhhhhhhh
Huh?

To be honest, I think XC is on par as the cryptonote coins(now), later it should be much better. It's exciting watching XC develop. Might be the next, new, and improved NXT.
In my opinion its feature set is a fair way beyond Cryptonote, with less bloat. Cryptonote's anonymity is not flexible, and this is the make-or-break factor when it comes to real-world use cases. That said, XC's testing, reviews, and bounties have not happened yet, and Cryptonote is open source and quite well documented. Can you explain to me what bloat is? When are the code reviews going to be coming as well, I swear i read earlier this week in the thread that someone said Kristov Atlas would be doing a code review for XC. Are you guys wating for final 2.5 REV or what is the timeline on the code reviews. They would help immensely to get skeptics on board with XC.Fully agree. Code reviews by reputable sources should be a #1 priority right now. Fortunately, I believe it is a #1 priority. You're right, code reviews will definitely bolster XC's reputation. I don't have any dates for you at the moment, and neither can I confirm any reviewers. But the process is most likely to be: - internal consultation and testing - public reviews - bounties - open sourcing code

Did you read what I said about making the images .jpg?
It would help the load time a lot.
Yes I did, but you are mistaken :-) At the same (or higher) level of compression, PNG is smaller.

On the timeline you have one item for the date of 9/23 that says Consultation, Reviews, and Bounties with a green light next to it. As much as I wish that was true, I think you need to put those things on the future timeline.
Yes, thanks. In retrospect that looks ambiguous. I suppose it should say "consultation [etc.] announced".

A lot of the images are messed up.
Teka said that some slices weren't loading on his phone, but on my PC they load fine. It's possible that the OP is now too huge and complex... alas. Anyone else got trouble? yea the OP is compleatley messsed up right now if you refresh it in the first page. Question will we here soon about xnode distributed content delivery so? can we beat storj timing for cloud storage? The (provisional) plan is to have the distributed content server done before we deliver the final XChat at Rev 2.5. Hmm... might have to take all the hyperlinks off the timeline. Damn. That OP took me all day. Works fine on my end... so before two weeks..in theory will it be ready as well for cloud storage and every other content delivery that someone wants to built on top of the Mesh Network?? I thought this was coming after Rev3 ..this will be Huge. anyway we need Mac and Linux release out ASAP. We haven't given a deadline for Rev 2.5, so not 2 weeks. XC's web 3.0 functionality may come in a few stages, since web architecture has several layers. At first it'll have the capacity to allow third parties to buy ad space (and possibly other services) through a traditional website, and will be served on Qibuck wallets and pretty much anywhere else. As things progress, we could add distributed personal file storage, decentralised "email", a generalised web app API, distributed website hosting, etc. etc. As you can imagine, that'll take some time, and is probably best done as several separate services - with an appropriate layering of code.

I think that if REV 3 doesn't make the price rise, XC will probably die a slow death, which would be unfortunate.
Don't see this as FUD as I am just starting to learn cryptocurrency, but this is just my point of view.
If they pull what they say they will, XC is very cheap right now. rev 3.0 is where the fun start, not where it ends. I agree. Rev 3.0 is where the fun will start! I was pissed that I had to sell all my XC about 2 months ago. Been buying back in slowly over the last 2 weeks at roughly the same price. What other coin can anyone say that about? I'm guessing that the ITO is where the fun will start - which should be before the official launch. Have there been any updates as to how it will work? I know there was some pretty intense discussion for a while but not so much lately. No at this stage. I think the discussion here was quite fruitful, and that we got to work through a bunch of options. We now need to consult on some legal aspects of it, and get a pile of details sorted out. I'll keep you all posted as soon as we have some updates on it. Can't wait.

So, there's a new OP...

You'll note that the timeline has been both updated and exhaustively linked to all press releases, websites, etc. The explanatory paragraphs are also updated. And... COINERZ is live!

Hey Everyone! I have sad news. I was scammed. And being naive and not knowing enough played a role at this. Also greed was in this. There is a user named BobbyL and he also goes by Michail1. He was looking to buy a large quantity of XC. We talked and he agreed to buy everything I had because he was offering me 3.5BTC for 1500 XC. 1500XC was my total amount I had been saving since June. I've been buying a few here and there every week (especially when it was cheap back in June). He setup a wallet on blockchain.info with a username and password with 3.5 BTC in it. When I logged into the wallet to check, I saw the BTC. I didn't get the private key to transfer funds out. He told me to send him the XC and I will get the private key. Well, I sent the XC, but he never sent anything and changed the password very quickly. This person wont return my emails. His email is passat.ltc@gmail.com - He goes by Michail Hoffman. I lost my life savings. 4 months of saving XC and it's all gone due to greed for some quick turn around cash. I feel bad. If anyone knows how to get my XC back, please help. Argh. That's awful. So sorry to hear that. What a bastard. Next time use an escrow service you trust (localbitcoins.com?) or make the other party take the risk.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but will the mobile wallet need to download the whole blockchain?
Yup.

|
I think the mobile wallet should have XChat included, but I also think you should be able to download XChat separate from the wallet so that people who don't want the wallet can still be anonymous on the Internet.
Why not keep the wallet section anyway. people dont have to use it, but one day it might come in handy for them and they might go and buy some XC. Some people might not want it for some reason and I think XC should respect that. But that is just my opinion. I agree completely. Having a random wallet in a chat app will also be confusing. But an empty tab or info page with text along the lines of "make payments as privately as you chat: get Xpay/whatever" would mmake a lot of sense. Then, once the payments app is installed, ideally it would seamlessly integrate into a tab on the XChat app. Now you put it like that, I completely agree. Also the same with any other future apps that will come out I presume? They could all be extentions of an integrated app. This would be amazing. Ideally, yes. However I'm not sure what the various mobile platforms have the capacity for.
