Synechist...curious what your BLOCK salary is?   Let's make that public so we don't have another XC fiasco on our hands.

I have not been paid by the Blocknet. I've been paid by XC, in XC only (well, in BTC twice if I remember correctly).

862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 30, 2014, 07:03:54 PM
I don't care about blocknet.  I want to know why does it even exist.  Any feature you can add to blocknet can be added directly to XC.

Generating revenue through fees is a pipedream.  How are we supposed to believe in small fees when XC is consistently losing massive value?  We need a stable currency first.  And I don't see how blocknet helps us get there at all.  Maybe it's useful.  If it just involves borrowing other coins' features I don't see the use.  Any coin can add any feature it wants.  It would be much more preferable to have one coin with all the features of the other coins.

Let's talk about this in the Blocknet thread.

It's not true that any feature you can add to blocknet can be added directly to XC.

The pipedream is the belief that features are going to make a crypto currency stable.  Let's get this straight right now, the only feature that will make any crypto stable is demand to use it for something other than holding for price appreciation.  The demand to use it is the only feature that will change the crypto environment to anything other than a trading game.  The crypto that solves this puzzle wins and none are close yet.

Hmm... stay tuned.

(We've been dead-set on the objective of real-world usability from the beginning. Something new is coming.)

Just wanted to confirm that I am staking (as normal) a few hours left for my next staking reward.  Smiley

So what's the plan regarding the extra blocknet tokens generated while staking? Will we keep them? or will deducted at the end?
Either we do keep them or not I will contribute to the network, keeping my wallet running.

We will delete a quantity of BLOCK equal to whatever people earn from staking.

So the end result will be 10m coins.

How will you do this deletion? If 10m BLOCKs are sold and people stake, there will be more than 10m BLOCKs in investors' hands. How can you take away BLOCKs from investors?

We won't. What I've heard from Dan is that the plan is to burn coins in our possession. We too are buying at the ITO as individuals.

864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 30, 2014, 06:55:31 PM
Ok.

Whats the ITO status by now? are the minimum funds covered for you guys to work on the project?

I still have some work to do on the calculation. The CoinGateway discounts, the division of coins on Polo between NHZ and BTC pairings, and the previously incorrectly displayed Bter sell-wall have added a vast amount of work to things.

I'll keep you posted.

I've posted an updated wallet for testing on testnet, includes the latest group chat code and most of the stealth address code [stealth is not fully enabled in this release]

Download available at >>>> http://downloads.xc-official.com/testing/windows/xc-testnet.zip          ---- password is "xc" no quotes

* Remeber this is for "testnet" only, please launch with the included batch file as it contains the testnet node information
* Group chat works, most of the bugs have been resolved, but we'll use this release to identify any more
* Working Stealth address's will be released tomorrow

Mobile Wallet Update
* Based on the feedback, an updated release is coming with improved QR handling/camera auto-focus support

Any comment on the pre-mine?  Will we see continued development on Mac?

The statement I made earlier was drafted by Dan and I.

Of course he may comment further, but his position regarding the premine has been clarified.

Continued development for Mac is a certainty.

What statement?  Link?

Can you share any specifics about Mac development?
The statement on the premine and future funding.

We'll continue to refine the Mac build until it works completely. And we'll support Mac indefinitely after that.

Here it is, for convenience:
Hi all

I can now give some clarity on the status of XC's premine:

- The premine has been completely spent since mid September.

- Dan has been part-funding XC's development since day one (XChat and the multipool, among other things), and funding it entirely since Rev 2.

- Dan will continue to fund XC's development, and so nothing about the source of the funding or the pace of development will change.

- Specifically, XC's funding comes from Dan's corporation, which has pioneered IP over RF in marine environments.

- The premine was not dumped or traded for profit at any stage.

- The premine was used exclusively for paying for XC's project - that is, for Teka and I to work, for websites, PR expenses, the ATM deal, etc.

XC is, and will continue to be, Dan's baby. He has personally invested over 1000 hours of his time into it.
Since it's been developed at his own expense for some time, you have good reason to believe that he won't just lose interest.
His personal stake is significant, and this serves to increase his commitment.

869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 30, 2014, 06:39:10 PM
What's happening with Bter? The amount of BLOCKs for sale has been reduced by more than 1 million. Are these coins still on Bter?

Those Blocknet tokens weren't sold. There was an issue with the amount displayed on Bter.

We don't really know why, but an extra 275 BTC worth of BLOCK was displayed. We contacted them and it sorted itself out this morning sometime.

It's funny this never came up in your previous calculations...

I only found out it was wrong when Revelation showed my calculations to have omitted a check against the total coin supply.

(Thanks Revelation. :-)
So can we have the actual allocation of BLOCKs across exchanges with txid used to make these transfers?

I can try asking for that... can't guarantee it though.

Standard Block explorer (not the one in the wallet) would help with this a lot.

Indeed it would...

Pookie this is no time to imagine that your banned status no longer applies.

I always see it as a good sign when pookie is around saying were all fucked. It seems to generally mean he wants cheaper coins. I say let him carry on, lets see how low we can go Im still buying. lets try get down to 20  Grin

Ha ha!

I consider my salary a private concern. Despite this, I've not kept the fact that I am paid for my work a secret; I've mentioned it here a couple of times.

The idea that a salary is equivalent to insider dealing is absurd IMO.

The really obvious question is: does anyone here seriously think I'd do 5 months of full time work for free?

hahahah this was posted as teka first!  I should have got a screenshot. Two sockpuppets!!

Wait what?Huh

Paste from Skype:

This is really bad news, looks like the mystery dumpers were the hired help.. great.. Dan has always seemed like a great guy but I think he will find this decision and the lack of transparency to be a catastrophic error of judgement... very, very sad to see this...

Back in the day would I have bought on good news knowing I was probably helping the dumpers get out.. no way....

Also synechist, you do a great job and I often praised it but I had no idea you were on the payroll, ditto teka... this really does not sit well...

You don't think it's right that I get paid?

BTW, "mystery dumpers were hired help"? I don't know what that means.

I personally have not been dumping one bit.

Whenever I've had rent to pay I'd plan ahead and sell in little amounts on an uptrend.

Not saying you should Not be paid just had no idea you were.. it's almost like insider dealing in a sense X coin dev and inner circle selling should be disclosed... I cannot believe a single word about this approach was never mentioned.

Nothing against you at all synechist, you do an amazing job at what you do.

Prior to this have you communicated it to the rest of the investors that its your full time gig?

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Yes I have spoken about it, and I've been the "official" PR and media liaison all this time.

However I have not disclosed my salary.

It's just something that I'd be ok with mentioning I had if it came up.
