Hi all

With reference to our earlier statement, this situation is very simple:

Anyone who takes seriously the task of discrediting a project knows that *verifiable* evidence is required.

In the absence of anything remotely resembling such evidence, it's just silly FUD and ought to be ignored.

For this reason it would be wrong to suppose that we are required to defend ourselves against all and any trash people make up - and furthermore to take time and energy to make ourselves answerable to people who get lured in by it and start desiring "answers."

We are simply not answerable to FUD. The right course of action is to ignore all claims that aren't verifiable.

I encourage you all to do the same.

The XC team has spent countless hours over the past five months patiently managing all manner of useless discussion.
We are no longer willing to sink our energy into what appears to be a ghetto of paranoia and deceit.

For the future, actions speak louder than words (or screenshots):
- our tech development will go on unabated
- the results will be tangible
- and we will continue to strive for the highest standards of professionalism and clarity of communication.

You are welcome to engage in further XC-related discussion at xctalk.com.

Yes, you're right, and all spending will be recorded on the blockchain. No question of that.

On the other hand it could make sense in terms of the privacy of devs for, say, coins to be taken from the funds in larger batches allocated to, say, a given release. From there, payments to individuals could be kept private, while the amount used for a given release will still be publicly disclosed.

How does that sound?

Hmm, If that's done, it should be accompanied by a public list of expenditures that +- shows what percentages of the budget were spend on what. 'Dev pay' could be one category, but if there is a 'champaign and caviar for the devs' section, we wanna see that as a separate category! Smiley
I have no problems with you guys earning a comfortable living, but with $1000000 laying around it's just too easy to say 'fuck it, lets earn more money per month and do less work' if there is no public oversight.
And i'm playing devils advocate here because a nontransparent financial policy will completely wreck and destroy the reputation of blocknet, the coins involved and every single dev working on them. It's in your own interest to be completely honest and transparent about everything that happens. And being honest is more than just saying everything we don't know without lying, honnesty is about telling the truth in such a way that it is undeniably and independently provable that you are telling the truth. The blockchain decentralised trust for a reason, make good use of it. Decetralised due diligence is the most important thing the blocknet needs to be successful, without it it will falter and die, and a fairer, more trustworthy alternative will take it's place in no time.

/devils advocate

Make it happen guys Wink Make it happen right now! Put it on your website, post it in this thread, make a video about it, scream it from the top of every roof.

+1

I agree completely. Thank you for this perspective.

We have every reason to be transparent and candid at every step, and this is the plan.

Stay tuned for news about our escrow arrangement, and about proof of concept code.

@synechist you are ignoring your DM and you're only counting the BTCs, smell like a SUPERNet type of thing, and we all know what happened with that...

Apologies. It got lost in the chaos. I've replied now.

Hi all

To clarify our plan of action regarding this FUD campaign:

We give it no credit.‏

It does not deserve a response beyond the single statement I made yesterday.‏

Nor do we intend to allow it to slow down our work. We do not feel it justifies any further time or energy, and so there is no reason to clarify matters regarding claims made about XC, the Blocknet, or Dan.

We're done with it. We're moving on with development.‏

Any further responses are likely to simply be re-quotes of this comment and yesterday's statement.
Please do the same if you think that giving FUD credit has no warrant.

Honestly I could handling people dumping at the start of a fair launch but because I'm locked in at Bittrex, I'm feeling pretty F-in sour right now.

"Dumping" is not an appropriate description for the trading activity at Polo.

"Selling", in very small quantities, at a loss, is what's going on.

Do you seriously have an incentive to join in with this?
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 31, 2014, 12:05:17 PM
A very small number of people are selling BLOCK at a loss on Polo.

This does not constitute some sort of failure of the ITO, and neither will it cost BLOCK holders anything.

The ITO's going perfectly well, and this is a non-significant issue.

wtf are you saying, perfectly well ? You have an exchange trading already that wasn't suppose to. How is this not an issue?

As exchanges are centralized and run by a small group of people with their own interests, they will most likely also follow their own agenda.
It's unfortunate, but it's best to look at it from the bright side -> less tokens sold means you own a larger percentage

Unless ofcourse you want to get rid of your stash due to the immense wall of shit that was thrown over the project.. Well lets say i'll be watching the price when trading is enabled on day 7 and see if I can scoop up some of those cheap BLOCKS
OK so polinex sold out ITO and started trading , or just put up a buy wall at ITO price?

We just have a sell wall at the ITO price.

We would, of course, appreciate it if they'd disable selling below the ITO price, but hey, people can sell at a loss if they want to.

In other news, we've been working on both proof-of-concept code and on the escrow of funds.

We also can't wait to reveal a Foundation code of conduct and its rules. It'll help demonstrate our intention for the Blocknet.

Stay tuned for updates.

Regarding the Poloniex, it's not their fault. They started with dumping allowed, their user saw it and certainly expected no change of policy in the middle of the game. They can't let their users to be in loss holding the bag, it would be bad for Poloniex image.

Fair point there.

On the other hand, they do the vast majority of BLOCK holders harm by allowing selling.

To best maintain one's image, it does not make sense to act to the detriment of the majority.

If you don't allow the FUDders to spam in this thread they will create new threads. We can better damage control in here. What you can do as an investor is being vigilant disproving their lies as soon as they are stated as the dev. and PR team has to sleep.

A thought I just had: in order to both disprove FUD and to avoid bumping FUD threads, it makes sense to create a separate anti-FUD thread, in which you'd post reasons why the FUD is all baseless and deceitful.

Good news: looks like we can expect a writeup on all this FUD from Cryptoarticles:

Hi all

Moving forward, let's keep the discussion to Blocknet-related matters on this thread.

Also, can I ask that we do not respond to FUD here?
I addressed it last night and I think we can move on because nothing further can be said for it.

It's just silly noise with no real basis in anything.

Thanks

Morning folks

Let's try to be civil.

Cryptico the situation with Poloniex is clear and has been since the beginning of the ITO:
- they allowed trades and thought that we expected this
- since it's an ITO, we did not expect selling to be enabled
- they have been unwilling to disable selling
- I don't know why they are not more accommodating.

What you posted has not contributed any further information.

HAH! Hilarious.

Thanks LongandShort but your vested interests are clear enough from the coin you advertise so loudly in your sig.

Are you a 2 year old? What does my sig have to do with what i stated? 0

I favor Shadow no doubt, but its not the discussion here. I follow this thread but you insulted not only me but everyone. You are trying to damage control and you have to be the lest in the loop its so clear. I'm sorry but like i said. "If i were you i would refrain from those comments." You just arn't paid enough imo and thats why i said something..
I can say this though, this is not the only evidence out there in some of the back room deals trying to be made among devs..even i know that. So you can expect more of it to surface and dan.

And i mean cmon like we haven't all noticed dan being pressured to use his name so much!? He may have had good intent at some point but he sold out and lost his way and is now caught up in all this bs!

And ill ask you again why would anyone want to "fud" and bring down blocknet if it was pure and the people behind it not greedy crims?

It just does not pose any threat to any other project so why? Please ask yourself, please, i'm sure you're a smart lad! Its all true and like prom said. He says its "taken out of context" he didn't deny any of it! We all know its true we have all been watching all of this for a long time now! don't call it fud call it a ton of really pissed off crypto supporters watching crims ruin everything! expect more revelations to start surfacing now! crypto is sick and needs help clearing the dross!

My take: bring it all out.

It's as simple as that. Let all the purported evidence come out.
If you think it's true, you have absolutely no reason to delay releasing it. Don't tell us you'll bring it out, just do it.

I stand for the truth. I promise you - personally - that if at any point (in private or in public) I come to believe that the Blocknet is not above board, I will be very vocal about this.
But my experience so far has been manifestly to the contrary. The Blocknet is legit, XC is legit, and Dan is legit.

P.S. "Why would anyone want to "fud" and bring down blocknet"? Are you asking that seriously? This is crypto.
839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 31, 2014, 02:11:34 AM
A little pre-emptive announcement:

A group of Bitcointalk users have modified (or perhaps completely invented) some IRC chat logs and screenshots in order to spread FUD about the Blocknet and XC.

It's incredibly easy to create a "record" of any purported conversation you want and present it as fact.
However such logs are not provably truthful, and in this case are false and clearly are posted with malicious intent.

Dan's identity is public and he has staked his personal reputation upon his public conduct and upon XC.

Dan has delivered - and overdelivered - on XC's tech for five months without fault. XC's timeline is testament to this.
And if Dan delivers (notably in the absence of any pumps on XC), then he is not out to scam people out of their money.

Pertaining to some equally vacuous FUD claims:
XC's premine was never dumped, but has been spent entirely on development.
Together with Dan's personal funds, it has funded XC's development.

On a final note, the collaborative spirit that inspired the Blocknet has led Dan to collaborate on a number of projects.
He has openly stated in advance his collaboration (on a freelance basis) with every coin that he has worked with.
This has been done candidly and Dan has nothing to hide regarding his collaborations.
(In fact, there's reason to be proud of the big-mindedness of rising above petty competition to benefit crypto as a whole.)

Dude stop it, "ethicise the market".  Grin Is it you Mr. Taaki? He sounds like you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU2a4AfleTE Come speak in tv like that please^

This is me.

You pay for that hat out of the XC pre mine u bastard!?!

Argh. You got me.

Sorry. I can never resist a pith helmet.
