Most people can not see the reason for this blockchain of internet shit, BECAUSE no one belives that the number of currencys that exists today will last. Its several hundred currencys. People do not see the reason to even "connect" with those proposed now..

The Blocknet doesn't require that currencies on it last.

That's like thinking that the internet requires websites to last. They don't last, and the internet does just fine. :-)

The Blocknet's value is that it makes it trivially easy to use coins' features - just like the internet revolutionised shopping, communication, etc. That's huge.

Enough said.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 22, 2014, 08:36:19 AM
The Ger, I think your concerns have been entirely resolved by Driv3n's post below.

Also, $50,000 will get you virtually nothing. That's an unrealistically small amount in my opinion.

Just because some other group took in $2,000,000 doesn't make it fine to "only" ask for $1,000,000 for your own project and think you're giving away a deal.  Your view of reality is skewed brah...

This project will get a lot more support both financially and vocally if they tone down the cash cow and stagger their share offerings to source development funds in smaller allotments as I suggested earlier.

500,000 shares initially @ .00025 = 125 BTC

If they can't or won't kickstart this project with $50,000 worth of BTC then I have to question the legitimacy of the project.  Once we see significant progress for our funding then perhaps another share offering can be done to get to the next level.

I strongly urge the Blocknet developers though, don't just ask for $1,000,000 because you think you can.  I think you can guess where that's going to lead with this community.  Be realistic.  In all honestly I believe anything more than approx. $500,000 for a working product is cheeky and you are going to have a lot of people looking the other way on this project if you try and pull that amount.

If you are dead set on offering 10,000,000 shares I'd to it in .00015 BTC values.

10,000,000 x .00015 = 1500 BTC x $400 = $600,000

MUCH more reasonable in my opinion.

I see some concern from people asking why the blocknet needs 2500 BTC or why 1 million dollars. Just wanted to clarify that the Blocknet foundation isnt requesting and doesnt need this much it is simply the maximum amount that could be donated during the ITO. I think we all agree that 2500 BTC is an ambitious goal, but its a good idea because if less is donated, the extra shares are destroyed and everyone who donated now has a larger share.

Think about what would happen if the ITO had a max amount of shares that equaled 500 BTC and that total was reached halfway through the ITO, then you'd be left with people upset that they missed the opportunity to buy shares and the Blocknet would lose all that additional funding.  So its good that the bar is set high just in case.

Hey, let's take a moment to get some perspective. Sometimes fudders can make it seem like XC is somehow lacking or in trouble, but that's a pure illusion.

- XC's private payments and (non-group) XChat are working beautifully.

- Nothing even remotely compares to XC's anon tech.

- We're on the verge of XC Mobile!

1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 22, 2014, 08:12:06 AM
Anyone who interprets the Blocknet as some kind of association - and thus equivalence of value - between coins has no idea what the Blocknet is.

If two companies are on the internet, does their value thereby become somewhat equal? No.

Let's remember that the Blocknet is an open framework, an internet of blockchains.

Can you clarify the difference between the Blocknet and Web 3.0 please as I am confused I was thinking that the new Internet would have been web 3.0 on top of XC mesh Network now. If you can clarify the difference. Thank you.

The Blocknet is a way of enabling nodes on different blockchains to communicate.

Web 3.0 is distributed, secure internet.

The internet in general is not the same as an internet of blockchains.

Looking forward to work with you guys together at Blocknet!   Really excited about this project.

Even if we (Fibrecoin) have already your anon mixing from Dan in Revision 2 included into the coin.

Hope you have a good week!

Cheers!

SORRY??

Can Anyone from the Team Clarify on this statement ASAP please?

He meant Rev1, obviously.

hello,

two quick questions:

1. What will happen with the money collected from the ITO? Will it be spend for development? If yes, what will be developed?

2. Is there a rough timeline or date when blocknet will "go online"/start to work?

greetings
criptix

Hey hey

ITO funds will be spent on developing the Blocknet.

We'll be publishing a timeline in the very near future.

[FUD]

Get out Joebob999.

Oh and I see you misspell my username the same way as RDNJKDI spells it. Silly move there RDNJKDI.

Do not come back.

Hey Arlyn, don't mean to pull the PM card (but I will) - how can you say there won't be delays when we don't have any dates tied to the OP milestones?

Can you tell us if XC will be offically launched before or after blocknet? i believe Dan mentioned blocknet would be launched sometime in first half of 2015?

Put it this way: when there are wallet updates nearly every day, when the timeline is being adhered to and items steadily ticked off the list, and when the team has lost none of its focus, there's no reason whatsoever to suppose that things are getting pushed back.

The Blocknet doesn't have a launch date, so I can't tell which will launch first.

Thanks for the response Arlyn!

I know you don't hear this enough but I just want to thank you, Dan, Teka, and the entire XC team for such a fantastic job you're all doing with XC and now blocknet with such adversity. I'm very excited to being a part of something so revolutionary and making history. Stay the course guys. Cheers!

Thank you, it is much appreciated..

Thank you Flashbit. :-)

Joebob999, I see you've arrived fresh from being banned from the XC thread to leave your pestilence here.

Go away.

What is the difference between blocknet and supernet?

Check out the OP:

The Blocknet "has at least three fundamental differences from competing projects. Firstly, it has no central or core currencies (unlike NXT and BTCD for SuperNET), and thus will create a truly open, democratic inter-blockchain framework that can be extended as widely as the internet was.

"Secondly, joining the Blocknet does not involve 10% of a coin's money supply being bought and centrally controlled. Centralisation of a coin’s money supply carries risk and demands that one trust the central entity.

"Thirdly, the Blocknet is founded on the XBridge, which is not an RPC call protocol but a true P2P protocol. It is one thing for nodes to connect to each other directly (and thus “P2P”), but it is another for the
protocol by which they connect to be true P2P rather than simply JSON-RPC or some other method."

Why thank you.

I'm unsure of your tone here though.

You are skilled at painting a picture in minds that isn't strictly true while not lying.

It's easy to contrive some sort of possible discrepancy between statements.

This by no means implies a lie. And damn you for the intentions that lead you to represent me that way.

Now kindly piss off.

So for the record:

Updates are coming just about every day.

XC just launched the most beneficial technology ever for it.

XC's progress is not delayed by the Blocknet. At all.

This week our focus is finishing XC Mobile to release to you for testing!

I see the fudders are showing up are they?

This is an old story you're telling.

And it's empty air.

Kindly leave.

Maybe they want to have alook here, or are they allready employed?

Henceforth, let's pay attention to the attitude of posters.

Are they complaining about things unreasonably?

If so, they can get lost.

Are they inserting little lies into their comments? (e.g. "there've been no updates," or "Dan's not focusing on XC")

If so, ignore/ban.

XC has several developers, all working away, continuing the project, as you've seen every day with our wallet updates, previews of the mobile UI, etc. etc.

How many developers do we have, the website says we have Dan and Christian? Are there more we don't know about? Thxs.

At any given point, Dan employs several developers on a contract basis for various tasks.

They're not team members, which is why they're not on the website, but these dev teams do a lot of stuff.
