1621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternate cryptocurrencies forum section improvement suggestions on: November 07, 2011, 02:38:59 AM
How about a thread on how we can improve this controversial section of our forum ?

First thing I suggest we do :

Create a separate section for all the LTC pools so one can pick and choose much more easily.
Create a section for TBX, LTC, NMC, SLC, GG, RUC etc. rather than have them all in one section.

Any one agree ?

If an alternate chain has enough discussion to merit more than one section then someone should make a new forum for it.
1622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What effect will changing the block size from 32 to 5 have on SC? on: November 04, 2011, 06:17:44 PM
The goal for SC is to reduce that centralization problem as much as possible.

I'd say it's achieved the opposite of this goal.
1623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Observation: Hash rate growing again on: November 03, 2011, 10:41:31 PM
Commenting on predicted difficulty increases/decreases is kind of dumb when it's only been a few days since the last adjustment.  As of  right now I believe it's set to go down, but who know what will actually happen over the next 10-12 days.
1624  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] MSI 890FXA-GD70 on: November 02, 2011, 10:43:17 PM
I have one that I might be willing to sell.  Are you looking for any other parts to go along with it?  (cpu, ram, cards, powersupply)

Hit me up with a PM if you're interested.
1625  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Requiring Bit Coin Help urgently! on: November 02, 2011, 05:42:52 PM
I just told him that looking on wiki and other guides would give him much better answers than here. And our answers would simply be copy-paste of such guides.

...
No.

A newbie come pretending answers and help without even thinking about doing the homework and read some faq and guides where he would find a better answer than what we can give here on forum.

Adoption? It require people that want to adopt it, not people spamming the forum just cause they have a POST button

Your first post would be correct if you said something like "You should check out the wiki or these guides (insert links), they're pretty helpful and should answer a lot of questions".  Instead your answer more or less calls the OP stupid for not immediately finding the right places to learn about bitcoin.  We were all stupid in the ways of bitcoin once.
1626  Other / Meta / Re: What's in the "exclusive forum section"? on: November 02, 2011, 05:37:51 PM
It wouldn't be exclusive if everyone knew what was posted there.

^ This!

How big of a loan are you looking for?

To answer the question posed in the thread title:

It will make SC2 look even more retarded than it already does.

Dang shame you are a mod...

It's my opinion as a user, closed source currency with glorious leader in complete control..... bad idea in my opinion.

As I said I was mining at Slush's pool until I notice problems after he introduce merged mining. At first only those that wish to do so was adding their hash rate to merged but then he announced that everyones hash rate would be contributing to merged mining and at this point I began to have issues when connected to mine at his site. I would have sudden system failures (bsod), internet connection problems that only happened when mining, and other minor problems that all vanished when I moved. So through my observations I would say it was due to the merged mining. As to the claim that Slush's pool lost people to goig merged well I was one so there is my proof and where there is one as the say goes, there are always others.

Merged mining would not cause BSOD or internet connection problems.  All it does is add in a few more transactions to hash.  Please learn how it works before you start going all crazy.
1630  Other / Off-topic / Re: I.Goldstein's charity ponzi on: October 30, 2011, 06:10:20 AM
And letting one of the most reliable forum posters run one in the main forum for "charity" is beyond embarrassing.
Fixed that for you.

I'd call deleting accounts and changing names a ton of times unreliable.

Does this forum ever release the IP addresses of known scammers?

No
1632  Economy / Gambling / Re: Prize goes to largest contributor -- 1 BTC so far on: October 28, 2011, 07:12:53 PM
So the person who sends the largest amount of BTC to that address gets all of the BTC that has been sent to that address over the week?

1636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions on: October 27, 2011, 10:24:25 PM
Having used this site previously but forgot my login/password I registered a new one.
I spent ages checking my email and trying to find out why I couldnt post here Sad
Really need to make it more obvious the new posting requirements.

It is really obvious.  When you click to register a new account there's some text below the spot to put in your information.  The first few lines detail newbie restrictions.
1637  Other / Meta / Re: Forum software on: October 27, 2011, 07:50:47 PM
Glad we got right on this, before we were hacked.

Last night my hash rate dropped 16% and my rig seems to be running fine. Any ideas?

Your hash rate dropped 16% according to what?  If it's the display on the website, that's just based off of the shares you've submitted in the last 15 minutes (I think?).
1639  Other / Meta / Re: Revive Bitcoinduit! on: October 24, 2011, 05:55:02 PM
Heck, if you guys offered subforums to every gambling game, that could be a major source of funding. You shouldn't be afraid of making this forum efficient and profitable. There's a lot of potential money here for the Bitcoin project.

All that leads to is a bunch of small subforums that are hardly used at all, except by a small group of the forum population.  Next thing all of the different alt currencies will want their own forum.
1640  Other / Meta / Re: Revive Bitcoinduit! on: October 24, 2011, 04:09:52 PM
You're the owner of the most active Ponzi game site in the Bitcoin economy. I think you've earned the title especially with your nice donation.

So donations should buy mod status?  I would say the other reason (running the biggest ponzi site) is a reason to not be a mod, to at least be fair to anyone else who starts a site/game.
