Thought this might be interesting. Below, a chart of posts on BitcoinTalk by language. (apologies for the bad quality)
That's actually a chart of posts by language section not by language overall. Some language topics in the 'Other' section have more posts than some of the 'Local' forums. For example the Greek topic in the 'Other' section has 170 posts whereas the Hebrew local forum has only 115 posts. Maybe the Greeks should get their own forum then. I think a barrier should be set at, say, 500 posts in Other to get a new subforum. I'd go with posts/topic per day over total volume.

Just a reminder, spam posts will be deleted from this thread.

This has been talked about a lot already, the forum isn't going to have a feedback system. EDIT: check out http://bitcoin-otc.com/

@OP
Don't ever edit my edits again when I'm warning newbies, if you change it the thread will be locked.

No. You control what you find. But at least you vote with your share of the hash power. If you are using another pool, the pool operator uses your hashpower and votes without asking you.
Then p2pool fixes nothing. Or you don't understand how bitcoin/democracy works... your vote here is your hash power.

I can see the delete button in the show last posts view of other users, if that thread is mine. This shows even if my thread isn't self moderated.
Deleting it doesn't actually work, but it should be hidden unless the thread is self moderated.
Are you using a non-default theme? Guessing it may be a style issue. I just checked my view of your posts and I only see the delete button on the posts you've made that I can moderate (Bitcoin Discussion and Newbies).

Perhaps new members should start off as "Untrustworthy", and they can be marked as "trustworthy" by a member that is already "trustworthy". If you give that badge to someone who scams, your reputation is on the line.
Bad idea, would easily lead to a false sense of trust when someone is marked trustworthy. It would also easily turn into a black market of selling trustworthyness.

definite scam
Possible Scam.
These kinds of posts add nothing... you guys should give some evidence or tell your story.

did post this in one of the "advertise in this forum" threads, got deleted by "an admin".
Makes sense, that's not the right place to argue it... that's what this thread is for. Free market and free speech seem to be under valued in this thread :/
Oh well...
^^ This, people can outbid them if they don't want to see them advertise here

to add to this, Can you escape fincen rules, by using pre paid cards. Is selling a card considered selling a "Good" therefore bypassing selling your bitcoin for cash?
I'd thought about that, I doubt it's a "good".

What about sending every new person who signs up a automatic PM to warn them.
Most probably won't read, just like how when you sign up newbie rules are laid out but everyone has to ask still.

This site has become a prime destination for scammers because it takes so little effort to create a new user and ask for some money. Banning loan and donation requests would remove a lot of the attraction.
Unfortunately, there are scams going on in other forums, and these steps would not help. I'm not sure what can be done about the MiningUnited and GBBG scams.
All we can really do is warn people. I try my best to do that, especially in the newbie section.

I can do escrow on the BTC side, shoot me a PM with details if you want the help.
FYI - Will be on the road for the rest of the day, so can't generate any addresses till like 10 hours from now.
thank you! I'll contact you if no one can do both btc and xrp can be found. I can do both, just don't have a ripple account setup currently... I assume it's not that hard.

I think it's definitely a possibility that the government created this. The more I read about bitcoin and deeper I get into it, the more I realize there was so much forethought on everything. It just seems too well done to have been created by one person.
I figure it's either the government or a time travelling wizard.

This has been asked before, I believe the answer is no. Especially a the forum doesn't need more money.

Proposition: bitcoin security browser addon.
Community would be able to instantly flag pages according to their credibility.
and then will come 20 scamming keylogger add-ons pretending to also be security assurance tools. What there needs to be is a 'tip of the day' box built into the satoshi client warning of the potential hazards. Even have the forums set a training course as part of the newbie process, to give noobs something valuable to read while they wait 4 hours which can earn them access to the forums within 3 hours if they pass a test of some sorts at the end. Newbies shouldn't use the satoshi client. Tips are a good idea in theory, but like the newbie section very few will actually read the information given to them.
