1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 23, 2022, 08:51:03 AM
Yes I do think bear markets are more important than bull markets. There are a few benefits a bear markets gives us which we can't get during bull markets. The biggest advantage we have when the market is down is that it's the best opportunity to reinvest money and buy more coins. I am sure many investors at the end of 2021 were reluctant to buy more bitcoins. When prices are trading near ATHs we should not be buying. To really buy low we need a bear market, bull markets are for taking profits. Identifying the cycles in an asset is important for traders who are using technicals indicators and trends. Being in a bear market also means that the next bull market is around a corner. Another important aspect in investing is that it's much easier to lose money than to make money, avoiding bear markets can save us a lot if money. I would rather save all my money without making a profit, then having a chance to make 10% but lose half my money in half the cases because of a bear market. Preserving capital is more important than getting the highest return in my opinion.

I don't think a bear market is better than a bull market, and conversely, a complete market is one that has both of these elements. The bear market gives us the opportunity to buy cheap but if the bull market does not come, we cannot sell to take profits with our coin so I'd say both are of equal importance. And I agree with you that if we want to make money we must first preserve our capital, just do it in the right order, bear market is accumulation, bull market is profit taking, don't rush or be greedy and make wrong decisions. As long as we have money, opportunities will still come to us.
1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn aside from bounty campaign and airdrop on: October 22, 2022, 11:00:28 AM
Out of those all testnets that you've worked with, how many of them became successful with their launching and how many have paid you actually with their tokens?

Looks like you missed some news these days, testnet participants for Aptos project got big rewards, for each tester they get 150 APT tokens and Aptos have been listed and reach ATH $50 on Binance. Maybe no one is selling at ATH, but yesterday's price hovering around 10$/APT is not a small amount. These are huge rewards, bigger than any current bounty or airdrop campaign. Testnet is not new but a lot of people still doubt about it and don't believe in it, until Aptos makes a difference and now people start flocking to testnet.
1663  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "Gareth Soloway: BTC to 3,5k possible" How likely is that? on: October 22, 2022, 10:45:34 AM
Yes, anything is possible but I wouldn't believe there is any big enough crash to cause bitcoin to plummet 3.5k again. I was shocked when I saw this analysis, the lowest guess I've seen is 10k and I assume that's unlikely as well. Nowadays a lot of funds, big companies as well as countries are holding a lot of bitcoins, so I don't think they let bitcoin fall so miserably. Scenarios that could make this happen, really I can only think of world war that could make things worse. I can't think of any reason for bitcoin to drop there.
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency and Gambling on: October 21, 2022, 10:55:18 PM
Many people still think of cryptocurrency as gambling. While gambling relies on chance, cryptocurrencies rely on arithmetic and cryptography.

Given the parallels between cryptocurrency and gambling, this makes sense. Both are fast-paced, the value of crypto is unpredictable.

Cryptocurrency is chance-based, rooted in exceptional circumstances like influencer opinions, values might drastically change.

And both crypto and gambling (online gambling) are accessible all day and night.

As far as I can see, this confusion is coming mainly from traditional business because they simply don't understand cryptocurrency and feel it's like gambling with its extreme volatility. I have also met a lot of people who think crypto is gambling just as much as they say trading is gambling. It is very difficult to explain to someone who knows nothing about financial trading or investing, the real difference between investing and gambling. But they all have one thing in common here is that they all aim to make a profit.
1665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 21, 2022, 04:14:55 PM
I think Juventus should play aggressively in this match.
I heard Pogba and Chiesa had training in continasa last week ago, It looks possible that Allegri give them an opportunity to play against Empoli, but too much risk I think. Pogba will be very important to filling up a weak position on center, while Chiesa will supply from the wing, so if both are available next week, Empoli will face big problem.

I really don't think he should give them a chance because as you said it is too risky. I think they should be given a chance to heal properly. If they do not take care of themselves, they might pick up another knock very soon. That is most likely to have a far more detrimental effect on the team as a whole. If Juventus plays without them, I believe that they will be able to win this match. If the score is level at the end of the halftime period and the coach decides to send them on the field after the break, it might prove to be a smart idea. Still, I am not sure if that would be a wise idea as I think it will be a bit risky. In addition, I don't think the players will also want to play so early in the season because the world cup is coming up rather soon.
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Crypto Twitter reacted to Kim Kardashian’s $1.26M SEC fine on: October 20, 2022, 10:23:02 PM
This will be a good lesson for other popular personalities that you need to be responsible for everything and for advertising dubious projects, including. The fine is very impressive and will be a good warning for others, in my memory this is not the first time when they advertise without understanding the work of the product.
This should be common sense, I mean if an artist wants to promote a product then that is fine, but when they begin to promote some sort of investment option then that is when very clear lines should be in place.

After all if you buy a product and you do not like it you can always return it and get your money back, but if you invest in a  scam this is not possible, so celebrities need to be held responsible for the investments they promote so they stop promoting scams.

Products are not merely jewelry or everyday items, but sometimes medicines, functional foods...in my country many artists abuse their reputation to advertise any brand as long as they get money. This is a very dangerous loophole, unbranded trademarks are also marketed by famous artists, easily misleading the general user. Many people in my locality were hospitalized after using products advertised by them, after some allegations they deleted all marketing posts and deemed them irrelevant. The action of the SEC is completely right and I hope that countries should also regulate the marketing of artists' products, because they are public figures, they have a large following.

Juventus are obviously the certain favourite team to win the Empoli match. Actually there isn't much point gap between them at the moment. It is only five now. Juventus even lost their last home match against Empoli as well. Juventus are newly recovering at the same time. However bookies have opened a quite low odd like 1.41 for Juventus to win anyway.

Frankly I don't expect Juventus to make a point loss in this match. I don't expect a one-sided match above all else. They struggled against Torino despite the win and it might be the same against Empoli also. Therefore I expect a win like 1-0 or 2-1. Maybe it wouldn't be a comfortable win but Juventus still need to have a lasting winning streak to bring back their old times. If they still continue to lose many points then they can't even finish the season in top 4.

I also expected Juventus to win this match but the problem is they are not in good form at all. I really don't know if they will be able to take all the points from this match. They have not shown that type of performance currently in my opinion.

I understand that they are going to be the favorite in this match. But I am just not 100% confident that Juventus will be able to come away with all three points. If they do not improve their gameplay they will not be able to finish in the top 4. And which is quite frankly a long way away from them. Currently, there is a 6-point difference between Roma and Juventus. But the goal difference is favorable for Juventus compared to Empoli. I think Juventus should play aggressively in this match.
1668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 20, 2022, 12:59:35 AM
And he's might not able to ask that again since he's already pass his prime.

He's still lucky that he's got a good contract and for sure that he's going to stay with the winning team that he's been with and would still like to have that championship for this season.

Didn't he said that he wants to get into the Lakers? That's what I can remember from some news that I've seen.

Did he say that? I think I might have missed that news. If he has said that, I think that it might be a decent option for him to join the Lakers if they are up for it.

He might add some firepower to them but another thing to consider is that he has aged quite a bit and I'm not quite sure if the Lakers would want to add another older player to the squad. Although he had a 52% conversion rate in 2021, which was the best in his career, I'm quite interested to see whether the Lakers would add him up or not. What I want to see is that GSW gives him a proper farewell.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 20, 2022, 12:49:33 AM
El Clasico is no longer the same. Because although Real Madrid's form is the same as before, Barcelona's form is not good. Real Madrid's players are very inexperienced, they play very tactical football, while Barcelona is full of young players and they have to work harder.
That's just the judgment of some people, because I see Barcelona's players are also quite good at controlling the ball and attacking Real Madrid. But the chances can always be thwarted by the Real Madrid players so there are not many goals that can be created by the Barcelona players in the match except for just one. Regarding the young players at Barcelona, I see that not all of them are young, even though on average they are still young, but players like Lewandowski I don't think they are in the young category anymore at this point.

The main thing I think about Real Madrid's players is that they are quite good at finishing off an attack with a good shot on goal when they are in attack mode. Essentially, Barcelona plays a slow build-up game, which enables Real Madrid players to gather around and make a crowd around the goalpost as they transfer the ball from side to side, making it very difficult for FCB players to finish the ball into the net. Since Real Madrid was playing counter-attacking football, there was a lot of room for RMA players in Barcelona's box, and they were able to score three great goals as a result.

The exact same thing happened tonight, RMA scored 3 goals against Elche, really great performance from Madrid.
1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 18, 2022, 08:58:22 PM
ATM 1 v 0 RAY. I already knew the match gonna be a tough game between both team clearly seeing the first goal under first half by A. Morata. Is there any certainty that they could win the match tonight or possible to be draw.
I love betting on live matches instead, although I understand that there odds decreases as the matches are on running while some of them are locked.
I would love placing a silly bet on 2nd half, planning to play it to be draw since we still have 2nd half to end.

The Atletico Madrid Vs Rayo Vallecano match is going on right now for 90+ minutes. Atletico Madrid was ahead in this match by 1-0 till 60 minutes played. Morata scored in the 20th minute of the match.

Obviously, I thought Atletico Madrid is going to win this match. If they do end up winning this match, Barcelona is going to be in trouble. It is good to say that Athletico Madrid is playing so well finally.

Atletico Madrid is dominating this match so far. But I don't think that they are going to end up taking 3 points from this match.

Edit: oh boy! the match ended up just now by a 1-1 draw, bad luck ATM.
1671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 17, 2022, 10:06:23 PM
Roma had 4 times streak with no lose in all competitions and from it they gets 2 wins at Serie A so i will assume they had successfully improved their performance and today against Sampdoria they should be able to win the match considering Sampdoria performance was quite poor this season even until week 9 Sampdoria along with Cremonese is the teams who cannot able to wins
Roma must win it to participate in top four after this match. It will also help them to strengthen their confidentiality after the injury of Paolo Dybala. They must prove that they can win and achieve big things without Dybala. Winning a match but effect from it should be bigger after that.
Sampdoria has a bad season so far but Roma must play carefully because at Antermio Franchi, the home stadium of Sampdoria, they will have more difficulty because Sampdoria will fight too seriously to save themselves and improve their ranking.
The draw obtained by Lazio vs. Udinese is a blessing for Roma, if they are able to beat Sampdoria in the 10th jornada, Roma will have 22 points. Roma point acquisition will surpass Lazio and Udinese, who both collected 21 points after 10 matches. Roma must maximize away games to move up to fourth place, Mourinho must not waste this opportunity to improve their ranking.
Sampdoria who are at the bottom of the table do not make it difficult for Roma, although Roma will play without Dybala will not affect Roma performance, Mourinho still has another mainstay to get full points when playing at home to Sampdoria.

Although the match is on Sampdoria's home ground Antermio Franchi, I hardly think that they will be able to give Roma a hard time. Mourinho has been quite well with his tactics so far and after buying Dybala they have become quite e menace in the league. But they now have a chance to show that they are even a good team without him which is a good opportunity for other players to rise. Roma is recently on a good run and I'm quite sure that they will be able to hold onto this good form.
1672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 17, 2022, 07:13:56 PM
~snip~
T20 is the way forward. Test cricket still has a few fie-hard fans, mostly among the middle-aged and elderly age groups. But these guys are still living in the 1980s and the 1990s. We no longer have qualify test players, like we had 2-3 decades ago. And along with the duration, lack of quality is also one of the reasons why the popularity of test cricket is down. Now coming to the ODI, there is a saying in Hindi: na ghar ka, na ghat ka. It is neither favored by the supporters of test cricket, nor by the supporters of the shorter versions.

Nevertheless, there are still a lot of fans who enjoy test cricket a lot and have a lot of time to spare to watch it. In addition to that, there are some people who actually care about skills. It is true that there are a lot of people who don't agree with this statement, however test cricket actually needs the most scale out of any other format of cricket.

As a matter of fact, test cricket has become something that is not popular anymore, and in some instances, people don't even care about the sport anymore. In addition, I believe that people will also get used to it with time as well. In terms of numbers, there are not that many people who are still fans of test cricket. As of right now, the ICC's main priority should be to focus on T20 cricket.
1673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 17, 2022, 07:00:30 PM
They are still a young team, which explains their current situation. Barcelona haven't stabilised yet and progressing with such a situation is difficult. Barca fans may feel uncertain about this team, especially if they look at Barca back-line.
Their problem is that they haven't found Pique's replacement. Pique is already 35 years old and his physique has declined. Even Pique always has a hard time facing a striker who can run quickly. I think Xavi should start thinking about the central defender. I think he should be brave to start the rotation, for example by installing Kounde as the starting line up. Because Xavi is carrying a mission of improvement and he deserves to give more playing time to the younger defenders.
Xavi has done great since returning to Barcelona as a coach, he came when the team was pretty bad,and he improve the team my issues with him and Laporta the Barcelona president is the type of players that they brought in, yes they got Lawendowski the polish striker is world class and has improved the team very well since he came, but bringing players like Christensen and Alonso that are slow and not class kind of playing is annoying, how can you replace alba with Alonso? And this is drawing the club backward.

There is no doubt that Xavi has done well for FCB so far, but I think there are several transfers that are questionable at the moment. As an example, it would always be better to get a first-team player rather than buying three or four average players. In comparison to buying three players, this will be a more efficient solution.

Just take a look at the attacking options they have available to them. Dembele, Lewa, Raphinha, Traore, Depay, as well as many more, are among the players they have. In fact, they don't even play them in the same position all the time. And I haven't even begun to talk about their defense yet.

If only Draymond Green expressed his concern over his desire for the max contract prior to signing a 4-year $100 million in 2020-21, maybe things today might have changed. Asking for such kind of huge contract at this point in his career is really a no-brainer to grant. Now entering his post-prime period, he is even lucky that his current contract is still considered one of the good contracts out there providing his stats is not that appealing anymore. Being a team advisor, especially to young cores is not a factor.

I'm sure Draymond Green won't exercise his player option next year and will finish his contract with the Warriors until becoming a UFA. I'm also speculating that we won't see any trades involving him in the off-season next year.

I agree with you. As he has reached the end of his prime, asking for such a huge contract was not the right option for him in my opinion. Maybe he could have asked for a bit less. This is because he should know that he won't be able to deliver the same quality of games as he used to even a few years back. Yes, I have to say that he is quite lucky that his contract is even being considered. I feel that he may have a hard time saying goodbye to GSW because he has served them for quite a long time and also hope that he will let his contract with GSW expire, by this he will get a well-deserved farewell.
1675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 16, 2022, 06:55:55 PM
Cricket is now more commercial than entertainment. We will never see the cricket which was happen last decade. The interest from the people decreasing day by day. However, from a commercial point of view it has to be extended. But the chance of becoming a good cricket is very less. Due to the impact of T20 cricket, Tests are disappearing and therefore cricket is losing its rhythm. Moreover, in such situations, a cricketer cannot show his talent. If we want to watch good cricket then there is no alternative to Test cricket. I think Test cricket must be given a dignity otherwise cricket will lose its beauty.
For cricket, it is a battle of survival. A football match lasts for 90-95 minutes on average. A match of field hockey has even lesser duration and the same can be said about boxing, volleyball and basketball as well. Now coming to test cricket, the average match lasts for around 40 hours, and even after this there is a significant chance that we may not get a result out of it. Obviously under such circumstances cricket is not going to survive in to the 21st century. This was the time when T20 cricket was introduced and it managed to inject new life in to cricket.

I didn't really care much about Test cricket or Twenty20 cricket. There was a time when I enjoyed One-Day International cricket on an average level. Despite the fact that we survived the Covid-19 situation, I feel as though the popularity of One-Day International cricket has also fallen by quite a bit in recent years. Basically, all people want right now is fast action, and in doing so, they do not care about skill as long as they can get it fast.

There is no doubt that the level of cricket right now is at an all-time low since the last decade. In the past, I can recall being excited about watching the Ashes series. However, even that doesn't make me interested in watching test cricket at all. Test cricket is already dead. ODI will also soon be.
1676  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price consolidation at $20k for 4 months on: October 16, 2022, 01:56:11 AM
BTC has been hanging on the $20k area for 4 months now since early june. The longer the consolidation on a price range, the bigger the capitulation can be if it breaks to the downside.. macroeconomic view looks like trash. BTC still hasn't decoupled from the SP500, and the SP500 is still 700 points away from pre-covid printing measures which to me it means the price is still overvalued, which in turn means BTC will follow a sub $20k capitulation. The only 2 scenarios I see where we pump:
(....)
My thoughts right now seem every market correlates to each other. Like if there's a huge dump on stocks, we are also experiencing it in the cryptocurrency market. So for me, the reason, for now, is the interest rate. We need also consider the post-covid effect now.
It's like a global effect, there no one is excluded from the current crisis that we are experiencing, even in which country you are framed, there is a crisis.
That's because we have seen a lot of stocks broker getting into crypto as well so they play both with their huge clients money .. not always correlating each other but that's the fact. You play both sides and accudentally the market responds become so similar.

We are living in uncertain future economics still , so yeah keep guessing .. any serious prediction even mathematically could still fail in the recent days.

There is no data to say that many stockbrokers are also getting into crypto, I know a lot of investors in the stock market but most of them don't get into crypto because they say it's a manipulative market, price fluctuations are too strong and they don't like it. In simple words, we can see that stocks or cryptocurrencies are considered as risk assets and both go against USD, and USD is very well protected by the Fed, so once there is bad news people will tend to sell risky assets to choose safe assets and now USD is a safe asset that can make a profit.
1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 15, 2022, 09:08:33 PM
Cricket is adopting to new format aka T20 and that's the reason why boards are focusing more on t20 then on test. Even in domestic cricket, much focus is on t20 then on odi and test. I agree that with t20 format players who are playing cricket with job can manage cricket.
Ideally there should be a balance between generating money and finding new talent. T20 franchise leagues are good in financial terms for the cricket boards, but younger players don't get much of an opportunity to showcase their skills. Most of the leagues are having an overseas player limit of 4. Remaining 7 slots will be filled by senior players. On the other hand domestic 4-day usually does not feature any overseas players (although county cricket in England is an exception), and provide adequate slots for the younger native players.

But I really don't think that a T20 player can show his skills in domestic cricket. In my opinion, T20 cricket and Domestic Cricket are very different things.

So there should be a setup of domestic cricket based on T20.

Otherwise, it will be more difficult for the players who are actually proficient in shorter formats of cricket to show their skills. And we all know that test cricket is dying and One Day International cricket is also walking on the same path. Yes, it is true that in most of the leagues, the slots of native players are filled with seniors. So it is challenging for players to show their skills in leagues.

So it will be very useful to have a domestic setup with the T20 format. And I don't think the reduction of overseas players in the league cricket teams is possible because people also need entertainment.

Finally, Juventus got 3 points but the game was not so easy at all, also they have 2 more injuries now.

The good news is that they will have 1 week break.

It seems that what you are referring to is the match between Juventus and Torino.

Even though they managed to win this match, I really didn't think Juventus played very well in this match. There is no doubt that Juventus were lucky in this match. During the course of this match, they made a lot of mistakes. As a result, I am really curious as to what would have happened if Susan Vlahovic had not been there. Although I really do not want to admit this, I do believe that Juventus did not deserve to win this match in the first place. As much as I hope they will be able to perform consistently after this, I also highly doubt that they will be able to do so. This was a match that Juventus were supposed to win. In the end, they did succeed, but they had to overcome a lot of difficulties along the way.
1679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price with a 4 year cycle? on: October 15, 2022, 08:59:12 AM

people always expect the price to be under $15k or hit the $10k floor, but why am I always saying that seems difficult to do considering the price will always be close to the $20k mark, look since yesterday's drop to the $18k floor in a short period of time bitcoin price it's back to near $20k today and it keeps repeating itself every time, whether people will just see it as a coincidence or it's a sign that the $20k price is among the cheapest and will never go below $15k, I hope people didn't miss an opportunity and have taken the opportunity to invest now before the market recovers and won't see below $20k again next year

Bitcoin price fell yesterday because the CPI did not meet expectations but then quickly increased again, like the market is killing long and short.
It can be seen that the 19k-20k resistance area is very difficult to break but this is still not enough to confirm your argument that bitcoin's 4-year cycle is gone. In November we will still face a Fed rate hike, I don't know if bitcoin will hold $19k as it is. When bitcoin crosses $30k and starts a new strong growth, you can confirm your thinking is right, currently although not falling further, bitcoin has also lost 70% of its value. And the market is still not getting better so nothing can be said here.
I'm not disliking the 4 year cycle belief, let alone going against it and arguing with anyone here, just sharing my thoughts that we no longer need to follow the old fashioned way and have to wait 4 years to get another ATH, so I'm just saying that anytime bitcoin can get ATH others without having to wait for the next 4 years around 2025 later, it could happen in 2024 or 2023 this is just speculation because the difference in the number of bitcoin users then and now is very much different, I also reiterate that the bitcoin price will likely continue to maintain at the price of $19k - $20k

I agree with you that compared to previous years, the number of investors participating in the market has changed significantly and is better than it is now. The most recent cycle was 2017, we didn't have countries, companies investing in bitcoin, adoption wasn't as widely accepted as it is now. It can be said that investing in bitcoin today is a lot safer than it was years ago. But in my opinion just looking at how bitcoin is falling means bitcoin is still volatile, it can still drop 20%-30% in a few hours. After hitting ATH last year, it has also been falling continuously so far, it can be said that everything is repeating. This shows that bitcoin is still the same, nothing has changed significantly from when it was little known.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 14, 2022, 09:44:36 PM
We can’t blame the individual play for the entire team loss.Because game is based on the full team effort. We all know the game is defend by some good players. But the fact is,it should be take care by the entire team. The experience players in a team had a responsibility towards the game, their is no doubt on that. But we can’t blame them for the same.Blaming on entire team is the professional Way of scolding a team.Pique current game was bad enough and it happened to all the players. It includes all the top players of the top teams.
You're right, it's because they played as a team so it's natural not to blame one or two players for a bad result.
Regarding Barcelona's recent draw in the Champions League, many people judged that Barcelona's defense was very poor and not ready to prevent Inter from scoring.

At one point it was true, but Xavi was actually responsible for this poor result as he shouldn't have put more faith in De Jong or Kessie from the first half instead of Busquets. Balde or Alba should have been good to keep Alonso on the bench, but Xavi gave Alonso an opportunity that somehow left Barcelona short of attacking power on the left. Alonso and Pique are not fast, but they have decent skills to be expected to do well in easy match. Surprisingly, every time Xavi gave Alonso a chance since the first half in 3 Champions League matches, Barcelona failed to win the match.

Now all eyes are on Laliga's most prestigious match, El Clasico. I chose a draw for that match, but since Real Madrid are playing at home then they can probably be expected to be more excited for the result. Like I said, both teams play to win and about the outcome then I'll never really make a guess.

There is a strong possibility that Barcelona will be able to perform more effectively in La Liga this season. Compared to the Champions League, they have been performing much better in La Liga. There is no way they are playing well in the Champions League and I think from now on they should completely forget about getting the Champions League trophy.
In order to succeed in La Liga from now on, they should focus their efforts on winning the title this year.

In addition, this is a big chance for Barcelona to get ahead of Real Madrid in the La Liga table with a points difference over the Spanish giant. Furthermore, they must maintain a very consistent performance. There is no doubt that they have a capable squad of players. There seems to be a little pressure on Xavi at the moment. There have been a few mistakes that he has been making lately. But at this point, Barcelona cannot afford to make any mistakes.
