Right now bitcoin hashrate 178,578,749 GH/s . I saw 200 few days ago and Estimated Next Difficulty was %21, now %17. Someone please explain why it is unstable and actually hashrate down? Some miners turn off their ASIC?
I don't really see a problem:

Still doubling down roughly every two months (mind boggling)

It's all bullshit. But bullshit makes the flowers grow and that's beautiful.

Wow, just had a discussion about the world being bullshit and now I read your signature.
Thanks for the enlightenment.

What happened to the bitcoins at mtgox? Did anybody get anything back?

Is there a thread somewhere on the site people are discussing it?

Investigation is still going on. More info can be found here: http://www.reddit.com/r/mtgoxinsolvency/

Thank you, should I get my hopes up for my 18.47 bitcoins? Or should I just cry my poor sorry student ass to sleep Cry
18.47 bitcoins is not poor.
You will become extremely wealthy if you keep them

I guess he just said that they're 'stuck' on Mt. Gox, so there's that... Saying that 18.47 BTC are a lot doesn't help him, quite the contrary!

Oh damn it Shocked I am wrong. I missed the gox part.
Whoops, sorry. I think the coins are gone for good. Buy some back today or be sorry later.

1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Joining different wallet files into a single one on: August 21, 2014, 01:31:10 PM
Bitcoin Core can have more than 100 addresses, it starts with 100.
With a Bitcoin Core wallet it was once possible with a utility called pywallet.  The person making that software decided to rewrite from scratch several versions ago, and the old software he had written only works with older wallet.dat files.  I don't know if the new software for the current wallet.dat files got completed or not.

Maybe Bitcoin Core Wallet converts old wallets into new ones when you export it again?
That mean, shut off bitcoin core, replace wallet.dat with older wallet.dat, start bitcoin core, export wallet.dat.
1670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Joining different wallet files into a single one on: August 21, 2014, 11:49:16 AM
Probably it's not possible , but wait ... blockchain have a Desktop wallet windows ? only thing I've found was for MAC  Huh  Huh
Why wouldn't it be possible?
If I export a wallet in JSON format, you can see all keys, private and public.
When I think of it, I think I could build a merger myself (although I'm not a real coder and it would end up being buggy)
1671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Joining different wallet files into a single one on: August 21, 2014, 08:20:25 AM
Is there any service to join different wallet files ("wallet.dat") into a single one?
I think this would be a great service for blockchain.info, for instance.
You would just drag in as many wallets as you wanted and get a single one with all the data from the merge.
I was about to ask the same question.
Over the months I've collected quite a few wallets which I would like to merge into 1.

Although they are mostly empty, Satoshi said you should never delete a wallet.
1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Progressing too quickly? on: August 20, 2014, 04:01:20 PM
I don't really know what colored coins are myself and i've been here for 1+ year. I will eventually look into it tho.
Same for me, I've looked into it briefly, but I did not understand right away.
Same for some other alt-coins.

I'm beginning to think it's like "divide and conquer".
There are just too many options for most people, so Bitcoin will be winner  Grin

I am waiting for the retracement.  If there is a good push, I will be in big.

I still want 465, but am starting to doubt we will see it again.  Ever.

It's not September 1 yet.  I think we'll see more volatility for at least the next week.
It's also not page 8888 yet.
1676  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 20, 2014, 01:47:06 PM
Ok, the activity in the last week just unequivocally proves the theory that the crypto market whales take a 3-4 month hiatus during the summer months.  This summer was completely dead (except for that silly SR auction crap). What a waste of time and energy this summer was for me.

Next summer, I'm going to cold storage everything and not even look at the market from May to August.

In the London Stock market a very old saying goes "Sell in May and go away"

Sage advice.
You should have said that may 2012  Wink

maybe shorters know something you dont.
Maybe they think they know something we know for sure it's not?
1679  Economy / Economics / Re: how many bitcoins do you have currently. on: August 20, 2014, 11:18:48 AM
I love the dips even if its just $50-$100 I try to add whenever I can when prices are under $500.
Me too.
Buying the dips seems to be easy.
It is much harder though to call the top.
Usually I end up spending some satoshis on goods or services at the top, if I look back to what I did.
I never convert to FIAT on exchanges though, only to some other alt-shit-coin if I see (short term) potential

Remember the days when bitcoin was down 93.08% from its all time high (closing price on June 8 2011 was $ 29.6 on Nov 18 2011 it was $ 2.049)

Can you tell me what software you use to generate these charts?
