If things won't get clarified shipping/refund wise within next to weeks that would make it pretty obvious it is a well designed scam

I believe that it would be a horribly designed scam. Why would they waste all the time/manpower/money to make a competitive asic when they could have simply disappeared 6 months ago when they got the majority of their preorders?
1722  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Here's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at your Monarch! on: May 29, 2014, 02:20:08 AM
It's not really fair to say it's a good idea to preorder from spondoolies regardless of their track record so far.

You're right, the comparison isn't fair. BFL, who is always late, vs. Spondoolies, who has never been late.

My point is that spondoolies has never taken preorders before the SP30. Who knows how many delays they had with their first gen.

I bet they will eventually sell sp30's BTO for the same price as a preorder (maybe less), but without all the risk.
1723  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Here's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at your Monarch! on: May 29, 2014, 01:36:58 AM
When comparing 28nm Rockerbox SP30s vs. 28nm BFL chips who wins then?

Who is shipping that 28nm first if you order today?  Spondoolies Tech.
Who will achieve their power numbers? Spondoolies Tech.
Who makes a cheaper $/gh unit? Spondoolies Tech.
Who has better on time delivery record? Spondoolies Tech.
Who is a more responsive company to question via email? Spondoolies Tech.
Who has a better in house design team? Spondoolies Tech.
Who has fewer lawsuits? Spondoolies Tech.
Who has a higher density unit? Spondoolies Tech.

It's not really fair to say it's a good idea to preorder from spondoolies regardless of their track record so far.

There is a good chance spondoolies next gen is delayed and the fact they can sell tested/competed hardware without delays doesn't demonstrate their ability to go from new chips/hardware to working product without delays.

Just say no to preorders.
1724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 29, 2014, 12:41:42 AM
Everyone here is greatly exaggerating how much KNC is mining.

Assuming http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/ is accurate, then KNC only has 5.5 ph/s or less than 7% of the network.

That would mean they only mine about 250btc per day and spend about 50btc on electricity. (10MW @ 0.1/kwh)

200btc per day is not really astronomical.
1725  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 29, 2014, 12:05:44 AM
i think you dont know who is TF (tradefortress), do you see analogy?

I think you're on to something.

Tradefortress: Starts multiple businesses with no sources of revenue including an online wallet which was conveniently hacked losing ALL of its money. Completely anonymous and businesses only involve shifting money around.

Friedcat: Has developed, produced, and sold hardware earning the company and its investors over 500% in dividends. Completed 3rd gen asics and is now working on 4th gen. Pseudonymous meaning people know who he is, it's just not publicly broadcasted.

Definitely a great analogy.
1726  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio - Shipping from stock on: May 28, 2014, 10:49:22 PM
Quick question, how does the SP10 perform with undervolting to conserve power usage? For example instead of 1.4TH/s with 1100W you could hypothetically run at 1.2TH/s with 800W. I'm in a high electric cost region and would be interested in this.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but the thread is rather long at this point.

Yes you can undervolt for greater efficiency. IIRC 1th/s at 700w at the wall.
1727  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Need Some Help - Difficulty / Coin rate etc on: May 28, 2014, 10:47:45 PM
Do you already have the following?

- a warehouse
- cooling
- maintenance staff
- racks/parts
- controllers/internet
- electricity

If you can get all that and 120th/s worth of hardware for $200,000 I'd say it might be possible to turn a profit.

But it would probably be much easier and more profitable (%) to just go with a cheap 1-2th garage farm costing ~$1.5/gh.
1728  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: May 28, 2014, 10:35:21 PM

So this guy bought an entire hotel with our money and nobody has the balls to track him down?

Quite the successful bitcoin scam...

Although I doubt Alberto actually owns the hotel. Probably just another scam.

Thanks, I appreciate that.
I had such a great time speaking with Guy Corem.  I have been impressed with their entire business from top to bottom.

I can vouch for Spondoolies-Tech as well.
Not only are the miners shipping, they are the best miners I have used to date.  The build quality and software is awesome.

I have also spoken with Guy Corem the CEO.  They are a dedicated team and company. I am very impressed all around.

No worries with this company they ship and support their miners.

a very readable piece of journalism, thanks for sharing.

I think 5/5 on price is a bit of a stretch..
1730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer on: May 28, 2014, 12:50:11 AM
Deal with escrow.

Are you in Jim?

I can increase the bet to 0.5BTC if you want too.

No need for escrow.

And no I don't have that much to gamble.

Deal if you agree to 1+w/gh = you win. Less than that and I win.
1731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer on: May 28, 2014, 12:43:16 AM
This is not fair.

You said 0.7w , I said 1.1w.
Lets agree in the middle, means 0.9w/Ghs at the wall.

Anything better than that and YOU win.

Agree?

If it's not fair then you shouldn't have said:
Lets see , but I bet they will be around at +1.1w/ghs at the wall.

I never claimed they would hit 0.7w/gh, only that if they do it will not be "last years performance".

Ill cut you some slack and change the bet to 1+w/gh and you win because I think 0.9w/gh is pretty likely.

Not really willing to bet much based on written claims from a company I know nothing about, however I think AM chips are more than capable of going below 1w/gh.
1732  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer on: May 28, 2014, 12:13:48 AM
Lets see , but I bet they will be around at +1.1w/ghs at the wall.

How much are you willing to bet?

The same you bet against Spondoolies.

Are you in?

0.1 btc to seansoutpost?

1.1+w/gh at the wall and you win. Anything better than that and I win.

Deal?

1734  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer on: May 27, 2014, 10:11:53 PM
a) Same chips
b) you were both using them as a benchmark for both the chips and these potential miners

We already know that AM chips are capable of at least 1w/gh(see hashratio/btcgarden).

It's not fair to use the least efficient implementation of AM chips as a benchmark.

Of course those little rockminer machines are inefficient with only 4 chips/device. The fan alone probably consumes around 20% of the electricity.

Dump selling miners with last year performance isn't blowing my mind yet.

Not sure what dump selling but I don't know what you're on about performance. 0.7w/gh at the wall is not last years performance.

Uhm Rockminers are 1.5W/Gh  Huh

Who said anything about rockminer?  This is Xbtec we're talking about.
1736  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero Project - Third Party HF Mining Board on: May 27, 2014, 09:36:23 PM
No idea but $30 to ship a single fan is absurd.

And I don't think you were nearly as unenthusiastic when spondoolies released the same exact specs 2 months ago for 3 times the price. They are just as late to the game as asicminer.

Difference being AM/empire actually wants to compete with the market in terms of cost where as spondoolies is lagging behind.
1738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announce. New ASIC manufacturer on: May 27, 2014, 08:32:40 PM
After more thinking I'm starting to believe that the numbers are BS. They have regular AM gen 3 chips. The RockMiner R-BOX is the only live demo of AM gen3 chips and they have 1.1W/GH.  How come that there is no single proof, but lots of statements?

Well, for starters we know that Friedcat came in here and personally vouched that OP purchased AM chips.

That's what I was saying.I don't think that AM gen3 chips can't get those stats. RockMiner achieved 0.55-0.68W/GH. I don't think they can get to 0.7W/GH on the whole miner.

I remember a few days ago your comments about how below $2/gh is impossible especially for AM.

How many times will AM have to blow your mind before you become a fan?

Don't lie, you know damn well you CANNOT get a refund  Tongue

Didn't you get a refund?
1740  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Next ASIC upgrade? on: May 26, 2014, 08:44:18 PM
If I could have convinced my parents back then that Bitcoin was a great investment, I would just buy the bitcoins instead of the miners. Today I'd probably own a huge mining farm.

Quote
You can say what you want, but i'm the big miner here.

Lol..

Yes that was back in April. It's a month later already almost June. I own lots of ant miners that I leave in a data center in Quincy, Washington for 0.03 Cents a KW. I've profited almost 43 bitcoins within the last month sir.

I'm confused. Only a month ago you had no "big mine" and you're already at 40btc profit?

How exactly did you go from needing parents permission to buying $100k+ worth of hardware?

Edit: After some serious sleuthing it appears we are dealing with a multimillionaire or a chronic bullshitter.

Quote
I have a budget of 15 Million.

I plan on buying 100,000 of those 28nm A1 Chips which would give me that 25 petahash speed or up to 40 petahash speed. That hits half of my budget. I also have a separate budget for power, but that is something else.

Quote
I have tons of bitfury chips, but I need the boards at a wholesale price. If anyone has boards, let me know and I will buy them. Looking at around 5 bucks each.

Quote
This will be my first purchase of a miner ever and the rep meter on you guys is skyrocketing

Quote
I'm thinking of buying around 1100 chips. Could you direct me to the PCB design as well and give me a quote on 1100?
(lol. custom pcbs for 1100 chips)

Quote
Well, I hope you guys learned something from this. The moral? You can sell things you bought for around a thousand dollars and who knows how big of a fortune you could make.

Quote
Heh. Told my parents about you guys since she was trying to find a good and reputable company. I told my mom to buy from you guys because it's much more worth it than other sellers

Quote
You guys have DIY kits along with your 187 gh/s chips and your third gen pickaxe ones? If you don't have the kits, how much for the chips in bulk? I'm thinking around 10-1000 chips. Could you pm me the price for em? Thanks.

10 chips is some serious bulk.

Quote
I was looking for the design so I can get it fabricated and assembled. I have 25,000 A3255 chips. I wanted to put em on boards, get my pi's and put it into a two phase immersion tank. It should give me around 95-100 TH/S of power and I think the price would be between 25-30k. I bought the chips for the price of 1 KNC Neptune and a mini neptune. Now I just need the boards and such.

Quote
I will buy a bulk amount of those PCB's. Tell me price per thousand and where you're shipping from. I'm in hawaii. Direct me to an assembly service as well. I want to place them in my immersion tank. Thanks.
