Looking to buy a Iphone 5, must be atnt/sprint carriers GSM. If its locked I can unlock it not a problem.

willing to pay 800+

A fan of purple lens flares?

Please read up on the camera issue if you haven't already.

A real detailed look at the camera:
http://www.dpreview.com/articles/6867454450/quick-review-apple-iphone-5-camera

The lens flare issue is a normal issue for small cameras.  The iPhone 5 is worse then average for lense flare but most small cameras suffer from this effect.  Don't want a lens flare?  Don't take a picture with the sun or bright light in it.

800 BTC for an iPhone?  Heck, I'll sell you mine for that much and then go buy myself 10 more of them.
Probably OP intended $800.  They are going for that on eBay.

1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina invents new ways to rob citizens, prime market for bitcoin on: September 27, 2012, 11:28:59 AM
I see a problem here. ( is it a real problem? )

Argentina users wont be able to mine because every time they'll get in contact with the rest of the world they will find the high mtgox price.
Do they need another crypto-currency just for them?

I'm not sure if this can be a real problem.
Example: bitmit.net
Can they simple sell items with argentina prices (lowest) only to other argentina users?
Is it simple as it seems?

Even on https://localbitcoins.com/ they can set a lowest prices available only to them self.

If they follow these rules, then they will be able to mine even bitcoin without any problem, they don't need another cryptocurrency only for them.

If they want to sell something worldwide then they will actually get more of the value of the item (if it is desirable) from a worldwide audience then from a local one if represented in BTC.  Mining will be in their advantage as well.  The only thing that would not be in their advantage is converting their nearly worthless local currency into BTC, they will need a ton of it to do that.

This shows a simple assumption of mine is probably right.  I thought that the Jalapeno would be a single chip and the single would not be a single but a combination of Jalapeno chips.  Of course the math does not add up, I see 8 ASICS there and 8 x 3.5 does not equal 40.....  Maybe I am wrong or the Jalapeno is downclocked?

re-vouch.....

I just checked an old gift card I got from Frank and it still has the remaining balance it should, after a few months of sitting there.

Desperate times takes desperate measures: The world needs this megalomaniacal supernerd to spearhead a fight against the in-grown nail that is the established recording industry.

I fail to see how this is bitcoin related though...

It will be.

Mr. Dotcom will not be able to use Visa/MC for anything in the future and he will want the world market.  Unless me makes his own currency, he would probably end up using Bitcoin.
1729  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bounty for retrieving 3 Icarus from Wildemagic in Lightning Ridge Australia on: September 26, 2012, 11:36:19 PM
If he's actually a Lightning Ridge local, you're not going to get anywhere.  It's the kind of place where locals close ranks against outsiders and someone going there to "have a talk" with him is likely to be leaving very quickly.

Or they end up in the bottom of the mine.
1730  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario GLBSE on: September 24, 2012, 09:03:07 PM
So "fake"/"fraudulent" GLBSE shares were listed but also still remain listed and traded?
And, the "real" shares in the GLBSE are not actually traded on the GLBSE?

They are no longer listed or tradeable on the exchange.  They can be "traded" off the exchange by using the transfer function (transfer assets from one account to another account).

This is correct.

Nefario however let the "fake" GLBSE trade for months after he said they would be converted to real GLBSE assets.

I now hold "fake" GLBSE stock and do not consent to them being sold to Nefario for .1 BTC      Nefario needs to just leave them alone as I value them more than he does.

I backed you up before on another issue but I can not on this one.  You are trying to TAKE ADVANTAGE of the situation that others are willing to make right.

You already made a profit on your 'fake' shares, no matter what you were told about if they were real or not.  Nefario is willing to buy back the rest at MORE THEN YOU PAID.   Your only cling onto any point at all is that you sold a small number of shares to someone else at a higher price.  You can not count that as a 'lock in' for the value of your remaining shares.  You are not being given a free put or call here.

Nefario/glbse would be acting fairly if they just made everyone who invested in those fake shares whole at the IPO level and because you are already at a profit you do not need to be made whole anymore.
1731  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario GLBSE on: September 24, 2012, 03:28:19 AM
A lot of confusion here.  How many shares did Goat buy, at what price, and did he sell them?
1732  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs CEO 25 Million USD Mail Fraud — A Concise Summary of Evidence on: September 22, 2012, 02:04:04 AM
INABA and BFL both stated that butterfly labs make custom chips...
yet........ its not a custom chip designed by BFL

it's a altera atratix3 EP3SL150F780 FPGA.

so goodluck BFL talking yourselves out of your websites quote for last 11 months:
quote: Butterfly Labs manufactures a line of high speed encryption processors for use in research, telecommunication and security applications.

The website says 'encryption processors', and in technical speak that can be EITHER a chip or a finished product.  Clearly BFL manufactures the finished product, going so far as to populate chips onto a board and final assembly.  That is more then most companies do, most just have the whole thing built in China.   Their quote is not even a stretch for marketing speak.

As for any talk about the availability of the EP3SL150F780 it is all over Alibaba.com and they could easily get both the quantity and the price required to build as many BFL Singles as the community could order.

What is clear to me is that the CA law oversteps constitutional bounds.

What is also clear to me is that we will not resolve the Palestine/Israel debate here on bitcointalk.org.

Bitpay will emerge stronger from this one stronger and harder to attack.
1736  Economy / Lending / Re: The pirate speaks on: September 17, 2012, 08:54:29 PM
In the case of all this be true, it makes sense that if you file a suit you don't get pay, you'll have to wait until the legal process is over ...after a lot time and money lost

No generally that would be stupid.  Pirate would also need to spend lawyers fees potentially tens of thousands of dollars in lawyers fees to defend against multiple lawsuits.

People who are sane settle up with those filing a suit first.  Pay =  Nothing to sue about.  Don't pay = could cost you thousands more. Huh

Then again Mr. Trevors is just scamming lowlife garbage.  Anyone who had a lawyer would have been advised by the lawyer not to make ANY statements.  It would be his lawyer who made the statement.

Funny how desperate people fall all over themselves to connect the dots in the most implausible way possible to show themselves "it could be true".  October will come and go.  Then there will be another excuse.  Maybe he blames it on the lawsuits.  One of the people suing got a court order freezing the account so he can't pay until he can fight that and get it lifted.  Oct into Dec into Feb.  Next September some on the forum will still be holding out hope that "soon" they will get paid.

Add on top of that the statement that people who sue him are not eligible for repayment, no lawyer would say or allow the client to say that.

1737  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Largest Ponzi On Earth. on: September 17, 2012, 02:06:38 AM
It will not be much, but you can probably live on it.

As long as you don't mind cat food. And the government has enough people paying into the system to support you.

The smart move is to move to an area in the country that has lower costs for non-working people.  This applies to people living off of SS as well people who properly invested.  You can live in South Carolina, Florida and many other places on just SS not that I would want to.  What you can not do is live on SS with a sizable mortgage or debt.
1738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Largest Ponzi On Earth. on: September 17, 2012, 01:56:03 AM
I should say that as a tax it is not a ponzi. Unfortunately many people think it is an investment (it will be there for them), and those will be the ones hurt if it collapses.

Well it will probably not collapse unless the US government collapses.  But people are both hurt and helped.

If you are smart and plan ahead you are hurt on SS.   It does not take a rocket scientist to invest 14% of their income and get a good retirement. If you did put in the same amount into a retirement plan or even just in the bank, you would have far more money then SS provides on average.

If you do not save, can not save or just blow your money, the government going to give you your money back at retirement time even if you screw up everything else.  It will not be much, but you can probably live on it.

Although I cannot believe it is necessary to point this out, the difference between Social Security and actual pyramid schemes is that Social Security never runs out of new enrollees to sustain the system: people continue to have children.
http://mattbruenig.com/2011/08/16/the-myth-of-social-security-insolvency/

People need to continue to have children at a minimum rate and, as a group, those children need to be at least equally as wealthy as the parents to provide for both themselves and the older generation. So it is some kind of ponzi that includes contributions via childbirth.

Just like the people who accuse bitcoin of being a Ponzi, you do not understand what one is.

If people have less kids, Social Security needs to reduce benefits or raise the retirement age.  If people have MORE kids then they can increase benefits.

It is clear that some people  do not like Social Security.  Fine, just call it what it is.  Social Security is both a tax and it is wealth re-distribution.  It is not financially efficient.  It takes away choice.

It is not a Ponzi.
1740  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitPay.com is unavailable - Official Statement on: September 17, 2012, 01:11:17 AM
How long do you think this will take? Are we talking tomorrow or days? As we count on your servers to process payments we are kind of dead in the water with bitcoins till then unless we pull out manual payments.

That is the beauty of bitcoin.  Anyone who wants any of my product can message me here or through my store.  I can take your bitcoin myself and verify the payment.

It is less convenient and I hope the attackers are know they are damaging bitcoin by making it appear less reliable.

If Visa/MC is down, I can not take the payment myself without them.
