1741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 31, 2023, 07:51:24 PM
I'm hoping that one day we will have a thread about Bivol and Beterbiev, that they finally going to meet in the ring with a date of the course, and a contract, there are so many speculations when it comes to two fighters I hope between these two fighters we will not see issues like what we have seen between Spence and Crawford they just want to make people hoping when we have the date and the contract we'll then have a healthy discussion between these two fighters.

Maybe a Beterbiev-Bivol unification fight is more possible to happen than a Spence-Crawford fight.

It's clear that Beterbiev is eager to fight Bivol to fully unified all the belts in the Light Heavyweight.

For now, according to Top Rank, there hasn't been any talk started right now but one thing is for sure, Bivol might be the next in line if no things will spoil it.

That's a good fight for sure, unifying all the belts in a champion's perspectives I see that Bivol will bite it up, he's still young and if he will beat Beterbiev, his name will hype for more and the money that will be stake on him will be much higher, I like also the possibility of comparing speed over power, as we all know that Bivol quickness is his advantage while Beterbiev solid punches is what he've got.

Yes, the Beterbiev-Bivol unification bout got a much higher chance of happening and that's not doubt compared to the Spence-Crawford unification bout that is still beyond the clouds and for the mankind to reach for now. Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum might close a deal on this one because the latter already gave his word that there's a good chance the fight will happen as long as Beterbiev will successfully defend his belt versus Yarde. Now the terms has been done, the only lacking is for the both camps to start their respective discussion and hoping that this will happen before the end of 3rd quarter this year.
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 31, 2023, 07:23:37 PM
The issue with that referee is beyond my comprehension. However, that was a truly poor call. Anyhow, I believe penalties are also handed out to referees, likely by their own NBA referees association. Obviously, bad calls have obvious consequences. Punishments maybe less games are officiated by referees with poor reputations. We have never heard of suspensions or even expulsions from the NBA because they are not reported in the media.

I found what happened to be unusual. In the past, I have become accustomed to reading, hearing, and seeing controversial decisions that are always in favor of the Lakers. When it comes to biased refereeing, they have the most memes out of all NBA teams.

The management will certainly do something about it as it has already affected the reputation of the league, they don't want to make people think that the league is rigged, so in order to retain that confidence, they will certainly make a serious penalty to the referees who miss calling a foul on that clear foul.

There are already plenty of speculation in the past that refs are manipulating the game, if you are familiar with Tim Donaghy, you will understand that NBA is not clean.

Yes, Tim was also involved in a controversy before because the FBI found out that he also bet in some NBA games, including those games he officiated, so that’s clearly making the league rigged. However, with this another controversy on hand, which I believed has started to ruin the reputation of NBA as news have spread fast online, then the NBA Management should do some actions that will resolved this scandal and will put this controversy at peace. And might as well penalized the referee that has caused this mess.

Tim's situation is somehow different from Eric Lewis because Tim has found guilty beyond unreasonable doubt for betting and getting the games rigged in which he officiated but the latter's situation is somehow different too because Lewis is just an avid fanatic of the Boston Celtics including his family (which by now I guess you guys already saw the circulating memes about their family wearing the same jersey), and that's not it, people managed to get through the lines and found out that the Celtics somehow got some helped whenever Lewis was officiating. I think as of now they are already investigating about this matter to found out if Eric is also abetting towards the games he officiated.

As a beginner in Crypto with a limited budget would you recommend purchasing the lower priced NFT's?

I personally won't recommend purchasing NFTs as they're not certainties when it comes to NFTs. Infact there's higher possibility of one loosing out from the purchase than benefiting. NFTs are known to be ridiculously priced as the value is simply based on perception and not on the intrinsic value of the content. I'll rather advise a beginner to go with Bitcoin than NFTs.

NFTs are good, but the there's a good chance that you could lose the value in the upcoming future and that's what gives their risk. I mean, it's like buying a valuable painting with no sure odds or no assurance at all that you can gain profits from holding it and sell it in let's say a couple few years from the date when you bought it. NFTs to me are all about hype and that makes them nonsense for making them as an assets as they could be more of liability to you.
1744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 30, 2023, 08:03:27 PM

When that old version of Pacquiao fought Ugas, look what happened to him. Additionally, Errol Spence just brutally attacked and mauled Ugas into submission. Thurman should study the weaknesses of Spence in order to take advantage of them. The defense of Spence is questionable because he has been hit numerous times in his past fights. But the champion Spence is certainly at a higher level of the Pacquiao who fought Thurman.
Pacman was having a problem with his leg on that time, that's why he easily lose, also, Pacman does not have enough time to study the technique of Ugas, so we can't blame him he lose. Maybe if he could have waited for Spence, we might see a close fight, maybe Pacman could even beat Spence.

Aside from that, Manny Pacquiao was already busy that time as if I remember it correctly, August was already a campaigning period especially for Pacquiao as he's also campaigning towards the presidential seat and maybe that's the reason why he came unprepared because he was having a hard time dividing his hours. Anyway, a loss is already a loss. The important thing now is an old rival of Pacquiao is now rising from the bottom and is now preparing for his fight with Spence, I hope his much prepared this time because this is chance to lift his name and open doors of opportunity..
1745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to invite 1 of my friends to invest in bitcoin on: January 30, 2023, 07:48:29 PM

Yes, that's also what I mean, so that my friend gets a good lesson, because joining this forum is the right thing. because Honestly, to explain bitcoin to my friends, I also lack experience because I'm still a beginner in bitcoin and crypto.

If you lack experience because you can't explain bitcoin then I think you should read an article and this should be given to your friend so that he learns more so you don't need to bother explaining it from the basics because we see now it's practical if we search on Internet.

Of course if your friend joins this forum when someone wants to be asked here, surely many will answer it, at least he can interact with the discussion and maybe he will understand more quickly if he really has to do it.
Here there are many articles available that present beginners who come.

However, these things are only applicable to such friends or people who are really interested to earn some profits and start their cryptocurrency journey even if they start with Bitcoin or some other altcoins because if they aren't serious to it, joining the forum and reading some article about crypto will be gibberish to them. I believe our sole job is to plant those seeds to their brain that there's indeed an asset and investment for the future and let them do the next step as long as you provided all what's needed for them to start.
1746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if you get a time machine now? on: January 30, 2023, 05:17:22 PM
I wonder if the OP also gave a thought that if he will go back in time, is he that confident that he will be rich just because he will convince himself to buy BTC at a low price where it's still selling for less than a dollar and much cheaper than that? Because there's still a huge chance that probably the OP won't know that BTC existed and is trading for a cheap price even if he will go back in that same time where he would like to invest into BTC. Just a thought.

Although, I know what the OP is trying to say and prove, I'm just here trying to think the opposite way where traveling through a time machine is probably not that easy and exciting because there's a lot of risk entailed with it.
1747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: January 30, 2023, 04:53:03 PM

Beterbiev's punches are strong. On the other hand, Bivol's punches aren't the same as Beterbiev, but he's faster and his reach is long as well. Bivol isn't the same as Yarde as well because Bivol is a good counter puncher and we've seen it against Canelo. I'll wait for this match to happen. Smiley

In the post-interview, he never brags that he can easily beat Bivol and he just wants to see the fight happen and take it from there, but even if both fighters do not talk about what to expect in the fight, we boxing fans and the boxing aficionados know that it's going to be one hell of a fight between the two, we only need confirmation in a few months, they need to settle now on who is the best, they don't need to look for any other fights except their match and the unification of the light heavyweight division.

That's something I already expected because both Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev came from a humble household with full of values and probably was told since they were children not to talk trash with someone they didn't know and in terms of fight, they will just do and showcase their skills rather than talking nonsense with risks that their words will bounce right after them.

Also, a unification fight between these two champions is possible but not that literally easy to happen as both promoters have their own issues with each other and Bob Arum as well already told before in an interview that this fight will only happen if he's the one who will organize it and not Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing.
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 30, 2023, 10:03:16 AM
Here is my pick for games tomorrow,

Charlotte Hornets VS Miami Heat

The stake odds for this game are 3.00 for the Hornets and 1.42 for the Heat, right now Kelly Oubre Jr. can not play, and Cody Martin and Dennis Smith Jr. are questionable if they can play for the Hornets, while Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, and Omer Yurtseven can not play for the Heat, right now I guess even though there are 3 injuries for the Heat it doesn't mean they can not make a great game, for me there are no main players that are injured then my pick are the Miami Heat,

Memphis Grizzlies VS Indiana Pacers

The stake odds for this game are 1.24 for the Grizzlies and 4.30 for the Pacers, Right now John Konchar and Steven Adams can not play for the Grizzlies, and Desmond Bane and Danny Green are questionable if they could play for the Grizzlies, while Tyrese Haliburton and Daniel Theis can not play for the Pacers, for this game just like I have said in the past I am not trusting Grizzlies inconsistency anymore, so I think that the Pacers would win this, even though without Halliburton, but I am not really betting for this game because of the odds, and the risk of picking the Pacers,

Cleveland Cavaliers VS Los Angeles Clippers

The stake odds for this game are 1.52 for the Cavaliers and 2.65 for the Clippers, Right now Dylan Windler can not play for the Cavaliers, and Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Love are questionable if they can play for the Cavaliers, while John Wall and Robert Covington can not play for the Clippers and Marcus Morris for this game I think I may go with the Cavaliers they are doing great right now for me mostly I think Mitchell and Love will play even though they are questionable,

Milwaukee Bucks VS New Orleans Pelicans

The stake odds for this game are 1.20 for the Bucks and 4.90 for the Pelicans, right now Serge Ibaka and Bobby Portis can not play for the Bucks, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, MarJon Beauchamp, and AJ Green are all questionable if they can play for the Bucks while E.J. Liddell, Dyson Daniels, and Zion Williamson can not play for the Pelicans, for this game I think I will still look if Giannis can not play for the Bucks this is a situation where you will look at their ace player if he can play my pick will be the bucks but I will not bet on this game but if he's not going to play likely I will go with the Pelican,

Still not too bad mate, your Cleveland bet managed go through the hoops and defeated the Clippers with a huge margin. Congratulations!

But you stated that you will not be betting on the Pelicans side if Giannis will be there and play for the Bucks, well, I hope you didn't because the Milwaukee Bucks won this game with 25 points in gap.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 30, 2023, 09:34:18 AM
How about that foul on LeBron last night that cost the Lakers the game because of a no call? Crazy…

Yeah, that no call and then they call a foul on the other end? It looks like the referee is against the Lakers recently with a lot of no and controversial calls against them. They could have won that game in my opinion.

It was kind of heart breaking seeing LeBron like that, I mean that reaction was rare though and he was literally aching by what happened as it happened to them numerous times already. There's a meme circulating right now on the web that the NBA refs cost the Lakers 4 lost and that means, they could've land on the 6th or 7th seed but the refs were against them lately. Moreover, the Replay Center is now fully established, they should work that out in this kind of scenarios.
1750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will not become the world currency. on: January 29, 2023, 12:15:07 PM
Bitcoin has brought about the disruption of the actual financial system which concentrates the power in hands of a few institutions and corporations.
I see this as the greatest revolution in the world and of course will have to fight many battles against the current system before becoming the new financial system free from manipulation of unfair interests, but do I think that bitcoin will become the world currency? Nope. Not at all.

It will not because government would not allow that to happen. The reason there's a govern is to govern us people, and since they are implementing a centralized system to make their job easy, I don't think a decentralized currency will ever replace what we are used too already.

They will not allow that to happen, before bitcoin was less regulated but not it's already very much regulated, reason we cannot anymore enjoy the "Anonymity" that we are enjoying in the early stage.
1751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: January 29, 2023, 11:17:44 AM

Again, if you haven't seen Fulton fight, he doesn't have the same power as Inoue, he wasn't able to bring down Figueroa on his last fight. On the other hand, he could have taken a lot of damages during that fight. Yes he won, but the score is really close. And as I have said, he could have been soften by Figueroa and then Inoue just go for the kill and maybe knock him out, just saying.

Which makes Inoue different because there's no fighter that he has a close fight, well, the closest was Donaire because he survive the 12 rounds, but the result was still all in favor on Inoue since Inoue won via Unanimous decision. This might be a debut of Inoue but despite that, I'm sure he will not struggle and his confidence is still very high, he likes a real action because he got bored in his last fight where he won the undisputed champion.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 29, 2023, 10:39:04 AM
@danherbias07, congrats, nice timing for the live betting.

You got great odds for Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics, didn't know they were down huge because I didn't see the game.
Lebron is still consistent, scored 41 huge points but it's not enough to win.

A great timing indeed especially with the Lakers, though there's really a controversial call from that last attack of LeBron it should be a potential win for the Lakers as we all see from the replay that Tatum really reach LeBron's arm.

A clear foul but danherbias07 was too lucky as the ref didn't change the call and they move it to an OT
where Boston dominated the game and snatch that home win from the Lakers.

Congrats!

There's no need to change the call because it's a non call, they can only change a call after a challenge if it's a foul IMO. Anyway, let's move forward, the controversy will stay because NBA is a controversial league, this is not the first time it happened actually. Let's just trust that the Lakers will win in their next game, so get ready with our bets.
1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 29, 2023, 05:48:33 AM
I hope to see Spence being penalized in this action and stripped him of the belt if possible.  This is one aspect of not showing respect to the governing body.

That won't happen. Spence Jr. is truly loved by the WBC. They are the ones controlling the game and not Spence's camp alone.

After this fight though, Spence should stick with his current stand to fight at 154 lbs from now on even if that's a clear ducking to Terence Crawford.
Maybe the will prove us wrong and he will fight Crawford to add something on his legacy. That's why I wish but for now, it looks obvious that he is ducking Crawford.

The turnaround of event would be, if Keith Thurman will able to upset Spence but honestly I don't see it from happening.

If we don't like what Spence is doing, then this upset would be the best revenge to teach him a lesson.
Well, whatever the controversies are and the speculation of the people, I just want to see a good fight between Thurman and Spence.
1754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 29, 2023, 05:13:21 AM
Even without Bollick, Northport was able to make the game a close one. Nlex was just able to pull away from Northport mid the fourth quarter. But in the quarters before, Northport was able to stay close to Nlex. I think Northport's import is good but easily distracted and loses focus with the physicality of the game.

With Bolick's way of playing where he always ball hog and owned the role of being the main scorer, it leads for his teammates to freely rotate the ball as Bolick is not there. It actually becomes a good reason that Bolick is currently not playing as other casts of the team are being fully utilized.

Bolick is known to always not try to become a shadow by their import. Instead of the play was designed on the import, Bolick will ruin it and instead, will do the job. It's actually good that Bolick is having a mindset like that where he don't want to rely on import but it seems to me that for him, it's a competition and not a team work.

Not really too much of a ball hog, just look at the difference between him playing and not, and you can tell that there's a better chance of winning with him. Now that he is not playing anymore, I don't know of this team would ever win a game, I'm afraid they'll experience a cold streak like what the Blackwater and DYIP have experienced before.
1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 28, 2023, 01:59:37 PM
Wow. Another lost. Not a funny loss but I am laughing, I might be crazy.  Cheesy

Had the right prediction on who will win but the spread was not covered. Lacking 1 more point for both the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks.
The sad part about the Miami bet is I think that the lowest spread @1.57 only and the next is ML which is not that rewarding for a win.
My Bucks bet though, it's my fault for being greedy. That -10.5 if I remember it right is the max on spreads option.

Chasing my losses for the Golden State Warriors -3.5. Let's go Warriors!

Too bad mate, but for sure this is not the first time that you have experience it, so not gonna be as painful as the first time.

The bad part is that the Bucks is leading throughout the game with huge numbers but they lead the Pacers make a comeback in the 3rd and then in the last quarter cutting the lead into single digit.

In any case, you have chased your losses with that Warriors win, so still good.

He still has a profitable day because he chased his losses and won on the Warriors' bet. Sometimes, the martingale strategy is very effective in sports, especially in NBA which we are very familiar with, but we also need to use a little discipline so it will not result in a wipeout of our bankroll.

I was also hesitant to bet on the Warriors because I'm sure everyone was betting on them, but that time it was the public who won the game, and I'm glad it happen because the Warriors really need a win.
1756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: January 28, 2023, 01:20:16 PM
I think that there will be enough time for Donaire if him and his team chooses to weigh down. But if Moloney is already good with the said bout then it's okay for Donaire to take a stop over first and have this match.

And whether he wins or losses then he can proceed to the weighing down and another division that he may want to dominate before he entirely retires for it.

The reason why Donaire considers moving down weight is that no chance at all to take a title shot at the Bantamweight as Inoue is really a monster.

Since Inoue moved up, Donaire shifted gears and accept the mandatory bout for the vacant WBC Bantamweight title as a Rank 2 contender.

Donaire doesn't experience much big trouble in keeping up with the required weight in his entire boxing career. Regardless if he will fight on Super Lightweight or stay in Bantamweight, no problem at all regarding weight.

Yes, he might not have a problem, but it can pose a threat to his body as he is not getting any younger. But it's better for him to stay at 118 lbs, I think this weight is perfect for him. We have seen him knocking out his opponents and even goes to the finals with Inoue at the WBSS tournament. But I do agree that he target 115 lbs because Inoue has beaten him. And now that Inoue moves up, Donaire should be fine with this division again and could be the champion next if ever he beats Moloney.

At his age now, he has to stay at the weight that he is most comfortable with. This will be his last attempt to become a champion again, and I believe he will not stay long defending the title as he is not getting any younger, it will be pride for him that he will retire as a champion. Of course not only him but for the Filipinos that are following and supporting his career as a boxer.
1757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: January 27, 2023, 06:07:35 PM
as we know, many people suggest investing in bitcoin because the risk is not too high.
but if we look at the market there are lots of people buying altcoins, and to be honest I also like to buy altcoins but there aren't many of them, and it's still my biggest investment in bitcoin. and to be honest even though investing in altcoins is risky but I always want to buy and the reason is because of the high pumping..
and I want to ask everyone what is your  for buying altcoins, is the reason the same as mine?

Simple reasons, altcoins are much cheaper and the profits will be much greater if you'll be lucky enough to ride the wave and to be patient waiting for it. Same as bitcoin, altcoins are also good for holding long-term but let's say like 5 years before you start on thinking if you'll sell some part of it or you will continue to hold as you got some feeling that it will still increase up to 10x in the coming future. Just a disclaimer, not all altcoins are profitable.
1758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 27, 2023, 05:11:21 PM
I think there's no title that will be defended by Spence on their upcoming fight, right? Please feel freely to correct me if ever I'm wrong because to be honest, I'm really confused by their mandatory fight as their fight has been mandated to be fought at 154 lbs. where Spence has no belts. In addition, I'm under the impression that Thurman have no choice to agree because his time will be wasted if he won't be having any fight this time as his original mission is to chase some belts.

Since the fight is agreed on the higher weight Division, and not on the title's division, so yes there is no title defense which in contrast to the order released of the governing body of title defense.  I am still in confusion why does the fight like this happen in the higher division and why does the  boxing council accept this kind of arrangement when they are the one that ordered for that fight to happen.  Is boxing turning into a circus now? Where there is no rulings anymore and the boxer is freely able to decide the category to fight?

Since many are confused too about how this fight turned out, no choice but to wait for the result.

I'm thinking what will be the situation here if Thurman will upset Spence at 154 lbs.

I don't want the fight to happen but now, I want to see right away the possible aftermath of this fight regardless of who's the winner.

Well, to be honest, I just wanted that Thurman will indeed upset Spence even if there's no risk for the latter as there's no belt on the line. I just want them to have their first defeat, so that they will know and reflect on themselves that they are taking things too far and making an unjust situation for the other boxers.

Hehehe, maybe some of us here wanted to see Thurman pull the biggest upset in 147 or 154 lbs and beat Spence hard.

But you have to think at where Thurman is right now, lost to Manny, had several injuries, didn't show good against a overblown 140 lbs fighter in Barrios and has a weakness, body punch. So it's tough for him to upset, but we will give him that chance though.

Who knows, maybe he will just wake up and suddenly become the Thurman at his prime and give on hell of a fight.

Who knows, right? Grin Keith Thurman might give Errol Spence Jr. an experience and a lesson that he probably won't forget in his whole lifetime but yes, it will be a tough job pulling that kind of stunt of course because Thurman got his own set of weakness that will surely be taken advantage of the opposite camp and hopefully, Keith is preparing for that too.

Regarding Thurman's recent fight against Barrios, I know that he is not the kind of boxer anymore that we first expected on his return but I'd say that let's just give him some room to adjust and a benefit of the doubt just like what we're giving to Loma on his upcoming fight with Devin Haney.
1759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 27, 2023, 04:50:18 PM
Spencer Dinwiddie just had to do it all, without the help of Luka Doncic, I also lost a players props' parlay due to the unfortunate incident, I didn't think much of it at first, honestly It didn't look serious and I felt he would return to the game at most at some point during the 2nd quarter, but I guess they chose to cautious due to nature of the game, and were still able secure the win.

Great game for him, he stepped up when it's necessary. Luka's early exit probably have chance the live betting spread, but it turns out it's just a trap after all as the Mavericks still won a game without Luka. I guess Dinwiddie needs to score at least 20 points per game to help Luka lessen the burden, because as what we've seen, we know he can do it.

The problem for the Mavericks is that Spencer Dinwiddie isn't having some good nights lately and he's getting too unpredictable to know when he will explode, I know that he knows he can, I just don't know why he is not that aggressive lately. But anyway, I'm just glad that he took some initiative to lead the team and almost literally carried it all the way because I did throw some few bucks on their favor.
1760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dead? on: January 26, 2023, 09:03:48 PM
for sure right now altcoins have encountered a ton of decline and as of not long ago there have been no indications of expanding once more, yet as I would like to think this isn't the finish of altcoin development, on the grounds that the ongoing downfall isn't similar to the decrease in crypto in 2018, where crypto has an extremely profound decay around then, after its we can see altcoins fill quickly in the next year, I prescribe for fledglings to begin effective financial planning with altcoins now since they are entirely reasonable,

Altcoins are really depending on the value of BTC, and if the price of Altcoin goes uptrend then some whales are pumping it. And, altcoins are really worth it to hold if it will go up in the future and that is why we need to only invest what we think an altcoin can last long and you think that is worth for a long term asset.

Not really because when the value of bitcoin rises, altcoins will only have a short rally because it still depends its investors as well but if bitcoin's price dives steep, all altcoins will follow because it will be a domino effect from the most dominant coin as almost all investors from any coins in the market will start doubting especially when it comes to bear season where almost all investor will pull out mainly the ones who doesn't have a strong knowledge about it and just there because of the recent hype.
