By your own account, you say that he tried to scam you.

If you don't return his coins you are stealing from him.

No?
1763  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: A n00b guide on starting a mining pool? on: July 16, 2013, 11:57:17 PM
Not very helpful.

Many people have started their own pool from scratch by asking around on this forum - that's what a forum is for - getting help. Nobody knows anything until they ask, that's how knowledge is obtained. I suggest you keep asking around the forums, amongst the nay-sayers you will get some very good advice - good luck.

I would beg to differ - a vast majority of pool operators are simply doing their own offshoot version of the p2pool api.

Is that why a lot of the pools look alike?

I'm looking to open one for an alt-coin that I think has potential, but I need to find out some of the information before approaching my friend about it.

Sent.  Seems like you have more use for it than I do right now.

Thanks for the loan!  Sorry to hear about getting robbed, man Sad

1765  Bitcoin / Pools / A n00b guide on starting a mining pool? on: July 16, 2013, 07:16:27 PM
One of my friends is a web developer and I want to get some good information on this to approach him with.

I have absolutely no clue how hard it is to set one up and maintain, but it seems like knowledge that I want...

Yes I've already Googled but it just keeps bringing up general mining information and not the set-up of the pool website.

Where to begin?  Any good links?  Thanks in advance.

When I hear the word "garbage" all I can think about is Ke$ha.

Oh that sweet, hot, trashy vixen.
1769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 16, 2013, 05:40:56 PM
I going to launch a new crypto-coin...

It's going to be called Hubcaps.  The logo will be a 17" diamond encrusted, gold-alloy wheel.

Instead of setting up your rig to mine them, you will set up your thugs to steal them.  The more hubcaps you steal the more proficient your theiving skills and your luck will go up on finding the golden Hubcaps (super-blocks).  You can use your freshly harvested Hubcaps in the official game that is sponsored by the currency itself.  Trade your Hubcaps with other people, or use them to buy new stupid shit for your avatar, like a blinged out chain or a used Chevy Caprice.  Throw up a "help wanted" sign on the virtual world to sell yourself for some spinners.  In the world of Hubcaps prostitution is legal.

Tag-line:

Hubcaps:  The Most Ghetto Coin in the World!

Watch out.  It's gonna be the next big thing!

1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting Picks ( RECORD 143-64-16) on: July 16, 2013, 04:11:27 PM
Any picks?

I'm going to take the AL today because I'm sick of watching the NL win.  I plan on losing this bet, but it's only 0.01BTC Tongue

You seem like a nice person, Swede.
1772  Economy / Lending / Re: Boelens' micro-(ish)loans. on: July 16, 2013, 03:14:52 PM
Bump.

How about a .2 BTC loan, for one week? I had mine stolen, and I was hoping to have some to use for the time being, until I can buy some more.

How'd you have it stolen?

I'll pay you back on my loan when I get home today so you can have some funds!
1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin GPU Miner on: July 16, 2013, 02:34:09 PM
Me, too, you can have half of my rig Tongue

1775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sapphire dual-x 7970 issue 15LTC for solution. on: July 16, 2013, 01:23:08 PM
I'm really started to miss btc mining. I have around 19x 5970's just collecting dust now.

Why?  You know you can use them for Scrypt mining... and 13.3MH/s would be earning you quite a bit of LTC/FTC/CAP!
1776  Economy / Services / Re: Get up to 0.30 BTC a month for your signature! on: July 16, 2013, 01:17:52 PM
I'd say 3/4 of the posts I start typing in threads I end up deleting due to feeling like they aren't contributing enough as it is.

hahah!  I do that all the time.

I'll have a paragraph typed up and then just delete it because I feel that everything has already been said in similar threads so I don't want to be redundant.

Wait... I was just redundant...

1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 16, 2013, 01:14:20 PM
wowzah

I like how he gave 500,000 of the Miner's Coins away to random people... not the miners who he supposedly made paid someone $20 to make the coin for...

1778  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid weekly for your signature on: July 16, 2013, 03:54:10 AM

1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sapphire dual-x 7970 issue 15LTC for solution. on: July 16, 2013, 03:52:48 AM
I think my answer was the most concise.

You do not go on a "preset" for CGminer.

You perform checks on intensity, thread concurrency, overclocking, undervolting, and EVERYTHING.

Knowing what someone ELSE is using is a good starting place... but you gotta tweak that shit, yo!
