Not a bad parlay, but I'd be scared about throwing that Patriots ML in there.   Jets +5 might scare me a little, too.

But that looks pretty solid.

Great looking site, man!

I'll be signing up soon... probably not on my work computer though...
803  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: November 21, 2013, 03:07:39 PM
I played Dungeon Defenders on the free weekend. I love the game and will be getting it very soon.

Yeah, that game is dope.  Haven't played in a while, maybe I will give that a revisit soon, too.

Very addictive game.

I had no problem using Gmail to sign up.

Probably hates my browser then, since I am on my work computer and forced to use IE8.

Gmail accepted but your Email must be a string with a length between 5 and 50 characters.

lol, thanks!   Roll Eyes

Uh, I got another problem..

So this is the third day of me mining for the mine-litecoin.com pool , and this is the second time that my whole balance got cleaned back to 0,000 LTC...  Huh

The first time I had like 0,006 LTC, the day after it went back to 0 LTC.
Previous day it said 0,008 LTC, and now it is back to 0 LTC... (its not that I got the 0,006 back, I just mined a bit longer)

Am I doing something wrong or is this site untrustworthy?

Also, all my other stats are gone too, like my efficiency etc.

Are you wanting to dabble in LTC or just convert them to BTC?

If it's the latter, then just use a pool like middlecoin that Scrypt mines and gives you Bitcoin instead of the crappy alt-coins.

How many people already accepted the "fiat settlement"?

If you accepted this deal please report that to DumbFruit so he can write that to the first post. We need to know how many coins were written off.

According to TF, here was my offer "Balance remaining in USD: $-569.69"

I've essentially been paid back a nice "fuck you" by his absurd math.  He can't even have the decency to just say I get zero back.  He thinks since I made gains off of bitcoin price rise of previous deposits (while he was loaning it out) which I had completely withdrawn to a zero balance , that my current balance is somehow negative in US dollars.

Anyone that can get anything from him, best of luck to you.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh.  Seems like a real piece of work, that TF guy...

Feel for anyone who lost money with his scam.  He definitely made out like a bandit Sad
808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Struggling To Hold Above $500 USD. on: November 20, 2013, 11:59:54 PM

I was lucky because I was already logged in because I was already thinking of selling at $875.

Nice.  I didn't even think about selling until it hit like $900 and that's because I wanted to sell and then wait for the retraction and buy more... oh well, I still got my coins, so I am happy.

Might buy some more for the Holidays and hold them for another year or two.

I figured out that info MrTeal.

You are crazy, but at 2.2btc each you are definitely winning this auction! Cheesy

Great price for this unit,

Very good price... it actually looks like it would be a surprise if it did not ROI within 90 days.

I was trying to sell at $850 yesterday and couldn't find anything that wanted to work for me.

Huh  You couldn't sell on Coinbase?

What happened?

I was thinking to myself (when Gox hit $900), "This is going up way too fast.  It hasn't even taken a breath today.  This reminds me of $266 in April.  Maybe I should sell the coins I have on Coinbase."

Checked the chart one more time and a nosedive with a sea of red.

Alt-Tabbed back to Coinbase and hit sell when the price was still $850.  It didn't go through.  Tried again and got halfway through and it told me the price had changed.  Hit Confirm again and I finally got out at $733.

Bought back in at $525 after the crash.  I rarely trade like this (never, actually), but I knew that I was catching this one.  Still I turned 3 bitcoins into 4 for free.

Then they started their "Buy at market a week from now" nonsense.  But since I had money ready to buy and any other option would take at least a week anyway, I went ahead and tried it.  It appears that they have locked me at $525 already (not too unbelievable since it dipped below $500 for a while).  But we'll see when they go to deliver on Monday.

That's what I was trying to do, but I couldn't connect to Coinbase.  I never sold on Coinbase, so maybe I was doing something wrong, but every time I tried to sell the website timed out.

Well I guess that makes my decision an easy one!

Going to hold my Bitcoin for the next big thing Cheesy

Anyone, please provide links on how to run these ? How much tech know how you need and if its plug and play.

Yes please.  That would be nice.  I've only done GPU alt-coin mining.

Is this a stand alone miner?  Or do you need to hook it up to a computer?

I'm going to be convincing my wife to let me buy one or two of these, but I'd like to know if I need to get anything else for it.  I have extra 350-450W power supplies that I can make work, but not sure if I need anything else or not...

That Netgear thing that Canary posted looks pretty cool, though, and I might get one of those anyways just because Cheesy

I think I'm going to get one.  Just need someone to clarify that I must run a hardwire ethernet cable to it?  This might cause a problem since I want to keep it in the garage to use the winter air to cool it.

Here is a good site for more info on your mining hardware:

https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

A 7970 would probably do 10-15x as much as what you are doing right now.

Ah thanks

But it says GTX 670: 160 - 200 kH/s and 7970 around 700 kH/s
How is the 7970 10 - 15x faster?

Sorry, was looking at the wrong column.  Thought 1500 kH/s seemed a bit too high!  Cheesy

I only use 5850s for my rig, and occasionally will mine with a 6950 as well.

Well you are mining at a very low hashrate, and since you are using NVIDIA you are getting bad hash/power ratio.

Ideally you would want to get a ATI/AMD Radeon card or two.  Even a 5830 will give you a better hashrate and will also use less power than your GTX 670.

If you care about electricity costs, then I recommend a 5830 or 5850 to start off with, but if you don't care about electricity costs, then swing for the fences and get a 7950 or 7970 and you will be making coin a lot faster.
