In terms of player quality I like Roma's squad. It is at a quite nice level which is enough to be in a fight for top 4. But the main problem is that in some positions there is an issue of depth. I mean squad depth should be improved by increasing the number of players for specific areas.
Left-back, midfield and left-right wing areas can be secured much more by signing new players. Because especially for left-back and wings there is a small number of players. In case of injury, suspension and so on Roma might have to deal with big issues and this can affect their performance badly as well.

Real Madrid are considering only one player to replace Karim Benzema and that is Mbappe. There were rumors in the transfer market that Mbappe had secretly signed a deal with Real Madrid and Mbappe is definitely going to Real Madrid next season. I find this rumor to be true because at the moment Real Madrid are clearly missing their main forward but still not signing any forward despite having enough opportunities, so I think a season of poor performance for Mbappé is a poor performance for Real Madrid.
Willing to accept but still they will only take Mbappe in the team. Now it remains to be seen how a team that played in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season will perform in this season's Champions League. The last time PSV qualified for the Champions League group stage was the 2018/19 season. Since then they haven't been able to reach beyong playoffs. They were a more successful team in the past when it comes to the Champions League. But now maybe they can go for the group stage finally.
Because last season was pretty solid for PSV as they fought with Feyenoord for the Eredivisie championship. If they can keep the same ambition level this season too then this can be a big help to make it.
By the way most probably their next opponent would be Rangers or Braga if they eliminate Sturm Graz. Next round will be a real challenge for them.

Just as I expected Manchester City are looking for selling Laporte now as they have managed to complete the signing of Gvardiol finally. There have been only Saudi teams interested lately so I wonder if Laporte wants to join them now. I think he can think of joining in a time that these teams are signing nearly every player they would like. While there is no offer from any European team why would he reject Saudi teams? Manchester City can't get much money for his transfer fee though as his current value is 25 million euros. But the player would surely get an incredible contract offer. My notion is, most probably he is waiting for european club, he is expected to get an offer from any european club. At this age he is expecting to stay in the competition for a longer period of time. I can see he is already 29, so surly he still has the energy to perform decent enough. But if he thinks that he wants to get a really good amount of money as salary, I think you should go to the Saudi league. I think if they do decide to have a deal with Saudi league, they are going to get more than 25 million easily. I think so too. His priority could be a European team now. Chelsea were seriously interested in him before. Fofana got injured and we don't know when he will return yet. Badiashile is also likely to miss at least a few matches from the beginning of the season. Disasi has been signed from Monaco for 45 million euros though. But still it would nice to make another decent transfer for them. There is only Thiago Silva as an experienced striker in the squad who has become 38 years old now. Having a good and experienced defender like Laporte would also be beneficial for Chelsea. |
