181  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bonpay Plastic/Virtual Bitcoin Card free order on: September 27, 2017, 03:09:31 AM
Since wirex seems to not be able to provide users with VCCs anymore which means that essentially you have to give out to them your real address to receive the cards making the whole process not anonymous, are you guys still offering anonymous VCCs after the cutoff date in october?

Just wondering because everyone seems to be jumping ship from wavecrest and no provider is able to provide anonymous VCCs.

If you can then i'm definitely going with you. Lmk what the plan for the future is gunna be.
182  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken USD withdrawal delay on: September 27, 2017, 03:06:03 AM
Anyone else here experiencing a delay in withdrawing USD from Kraken in the US? It's taken longer than 5 business days for me now, which is unusual; usually it takes only a few days.

Personally no. But i haven't used kraken since last month so i can't really say if an issue is arising right now.

But their support generally replies way faster than poloniex support - you should get a response very soon if you haven't already gotten one from them. Just be patient, they are a licenced and regulated exchange, they won't just run away with your funds.

Please update us on the situation.
183  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: not connected to hitbtc on: September 27, 2017, 12:26:44 AM
for 2 days i cant acces hitbtc, the page always said " not connected trying to reconnect ", do you guys have the same probblem like me?

The site is working fine for me.

I can also see live trades on the site which means that there shouldn't be an issue with others traders using hitbtc either. Maybe it's just something on your end such as your internet connection or something like that? Try to use a different browser, etc.

Contact hitbtc support if you still have the problem.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some government ban bitcoin? on: September 26, 2017, 12:21:56 AM
I See topics about banning and I want to ask.

Is botcoin really that bad? To banned by other countries?
Do the other government in other countries see something bad?
Can bitcoin be used to locate us?and see what we are doing? In short a Spyware.

Bitcoin isn't bad at all.

But central governments see bitcoin as a threat to their control over the economy, since nobody can control bitcoin as it is decentralized. They can't manipulate bitcoin into doing whatever they tell it to do, either.

This is the main reason why bitcoin is facing very tough regulation atm, in my opinion.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Total Supply on: September 26, 2017, 12:18:19 AM
Bitcoin total supply is limited.
There's only 21,000,000 Bitcoins

I'd buy and hold!

Technically we can never ever even hit 21 million because we will be infinitely close to that figure but never be able to actually reach it as each halving comes by. However you make a great point still of why bitcoin is worth a buy.

It is a store of value that everyone can access for cheap, essentially. Bitcoin is pretty much like digital gold.

Except it is more convenient and you don't need to worry about "fake bitcoins".
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trading on Bittrex - Question from Newbie - Please be Gentle!!! on: September 25, 2017, 11:49:32 PM
The idea was simple; buy $80 worth of sushi or Bitcoin.  So, I'm here just starting to day-trade – just for fun, and as a means to educate myself. My target was 4% (minus fees).

So I bought 16 STRAT coins for 0.00111595 Bitcoins each (around $4.02). The idea was to wait until the value of STRAT increased by 4% (to $4.18), which it did today, then convert back to BTC.

Bought 0.00111595 (approximately 4.02)
Sell Order 0.00116132 (approximately 4.18)

The problem is that on Bittrex, I can only trade between Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. Both fluctuate. So while the price of STRAT has increased, the price fluctuation with Bitcoin has cancelled out my profit. Current price is 0.00107882 - (approximately 4.27). And I'm having a nightmare trying to figure out how to make things work.

Suggestions welcome. What am I doing wrong? How do I increase my BTC by 4%?

You are not doing anything wrong.

This is something that you need to deal with every single day if you will start to trade cryptocurrency.  it is purely preferential as it makes no difference to your actual profit love you but rather how you view your profit. Simply keep track of everything including your profit and losses in fiat if that's what you feel more comfortable doing.

Alternatively, you can also trade some altcoins for USDT directly(which is pegged to 1 USD) and essentially ignore the BTC pricing altogether.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to store ICO tokens? on: September 25, 2017, 11:45:37 PM
Hey! I want to get into ICOs, want to invest in few and also work for them as translator, advisor, PR etc. Could you tell me is there a wallet (preferably offline) where I can store all my tokens? It can also be a online wallet but secure one. Thanks for any advices! I know I can store them in ETH dresses when they are made in ether - but want the wallet to keep track of every single one. Regards Smiley

you should probably take a look at myetherwallet or exodus.

Myetherwallet has support for a lot of ERC20 tokens which is the main way ICO tokens are issued by founders right now. You can keep track of all of them from your own UI. Exodus has a very nice interface, but does not have support for every single ERC20 but only a select few.

It's up to you to choose which ones but the two i've listed i've had positive experience personally.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Die Because of China? on: September 25, 2017, 11:43:41 PM
There’s no point in denying china was a big part of Bitcoin, and will probably continue to be even though the Chinese government decided to shut down all Bitcoin exchanges and even then Bitcoin itself.

However, I think that Bitcoin can definitely survive even without the Chinese with us. This is because Bitcoin is after all, a global currency. It does not need one single government being friendly about Bitcoin policies in order for the network to survive. Bitcoin is p2p, and that means as long as there are people interested in using Bitcoin Commodore always be away for them to access it.
189  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1,800 or $7,000 Which comes first as we go forward? on: September 24, 2017, 09:49:20 AM
Please make a prediction for BTC, not a preference:
$1,800
If the current Bull market is over, history says it will take years to rise again and the bottom will be well below $1,800.
Of course, well established patterns can be broken, but the collective behavior of "Real People" tends to be predicable.

or $7,000
A solid blast above $5,000 will signal the "trend-followers" that the party is still going and $7,000+ should come within a short time.

This could take a while, so unedited posts are entered to win the huge prize that comes from knowing you were correct.
$1,800 or $7,000: Which comes first as we go forward?

If the November fork goes well -> $7000 will come first. Would not even be surprised if the price turned out to be much higher than $7k. The relief people get with a good fork is enormous and drives markets up so much(take for example august when btc price nearly doubled because of the august 1 events).

If not then $1800 would probably come first. But that won't happen this year.

Maybe we won't ever reach sub $2k levels again. We'll just stay in between $2k-$4k until next halving and neither of the two options is fulfilled.
190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Btc drop near 2k? on: September 24, 2017, 09:43:46 AM
I felt like I missed a great opportunity at selling high and buying low when it reached 5k and drop to 4k a couple of days ago. Now it happened again from 4k to 3k. You think it will happen a third time, from 3k to 2k?

This should prove to be highly unlikely for this month.

I really expect price to be pretty much stable at the $3500-4000 range for this month and the next month because there is no real positive news but no real negative news apart from chinese rumors either. We shuold simply see a lot of sideways movement.

To go down to $2k this or next month would be impossible. Maybe next year as others suggest but definitely not this year.
191  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Moving to another exchange on: September 24, 2017, 09:30:24 AM
Hello, I'm currently using Bitstamp as a mean for exchange. But because they don't record profit/loss for my order I want to change to another exchange. That have the feature to record the profit/loss

Anything suggestion all? my preferred trading is USD/ETH or USD/BTC

Hope the suggestion is the one you had experience with

I think you'll like Kraken. They have ETH/USD and USD/BTC which are the pairs that you trade and they have relatively good customer support and low deposit/exchange fees compared to the rest. It's a smooth experience trading with them. I think they do have a analysis tool for your trade profit/loss but you need to check that yourself.

If you like Bitstamp then just stick to it and download the blockfolio app.

In there you can enter buy and sell orders and it'll calculate your total portfolio worth as well as a tracking of your performance.
192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think China has halted the pace of bitcoin reaching new high?? on: September 24, 2017, 09:26:38 AM
Do you think China issue has halted the pace of bitcoin reaching new record high?? How much time do you think required for bitcoin to forget China issue and pick-up the pace to touch new levels???

Yes. I think that the FUD generated from China about how they are going to ban every single bitcoin operation, not only trading sites but also mining pools and so on has caused some panic and has slowed the growth of price.

IMO it'll probably take around a month or so until people realise that losing china doesnt mean that bitcoin is going to die. Plus, all of this is still rumors.

Once that realization occurs, price could go to $5k+.
193  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best trading platform or exchange and fund on: September 24, 2017, 09:10:52 AM
If you are satisfied with markets.com(have never heard of it personally) but is only doubting it because of bad reviews then i suggest you stitck with them. As long as you are comfortable with them and have never had issues.

Bitstamp has one of the lowest spreads in the industry. But their fees are high. Look into Kraken, or bitfinex.

To answer your second question, no. There is no single fund that invests in every single crypto. But you may be interested in this:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2024536.0
194  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Centra Tech on: September 24, 2017, 09:07:47 AM
Well they claim to have 0 conversion fees between currencies - which is great if you are a high volume trader.

However, is it really worth paying 5 ETH for just a bitcoin debit card? I mean yeah you get the no fees and the rewards program(not sure what else is included but skimming through their whitepaper that's their selling points), but you're probably not ever going to make back the 5 eth you spent, and that's the least expensive option.

I would save that $1.2k in ETH and do something else with it.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can I have two myetherwallets. on: September 24, 2017, 07:29:06 AM
Can I have two myetherwallets. As it is a web based wallet I think it is possible to have. What are your suggestions?

Yes. There are no restrictions as to how many you can have as long as you can keep track of all the recovery seeds and keep them in a safe place. It's no different to using the actual ethereum client on the desktop.

Why would you want more than one though?

It just adds to the confusion and clutter imo. Just store everything in one wallet, easier to tarck your own portfolio as well.
196  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gameristo..what are you doing, bro? on: September 24, 2017, 07:26:34 AM
This person is still doing business and constantly bumping his thread up. Seems like he still has a lot of paypal left for trading that could potentially come from fraudulent sources. Plus, he is evading this accusation entirely as well which basically proves that he is nervous about answering this.

A warning trust should at least be put on his trust page.

OP, hopefully no chargebacks yet?
197  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: freebitco.in "Browser Mining" - is it worth it? on: September 24, 2017, 07:23:26 AM
Just to clarify some points that have been made here:

1). Your browser is mining monero and we are auto-converting it into bitcoin at the current prices
2). We are giving 100% of what we make back to users, we are taking a 0% cut.
3). The mining is completely optional, we are not running the miner automatically or forcing anyone to use it. If you feel it is profitable for you, then use it. If not, then don't.

If there is enough interest, I might try to reverse-engineer the miner so that we can keep 100% of the revenue and share all of it with the users. We do not expect to make any profit for this, it's only an additional revenue stream for faucet users.

Do users pay the transactions fees or do you guys cover that too?

So essentially if you got it right, you guys aren't actually making anything off this and actually potentially losing out on profit here, since there are no fees charged right? So this is just something that you guys do to help out newbies get some dust?

I mean, in theory it's great. But it's not worth anyone's time. They'll get more from claiming from your faucet and this only makes newbies think that mining is profitable with normal equipment when they are just losing so much from electricity bills.
198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pricing over 4K ,thinking about buying on: September 23, 2017, 12:42:32 AM
Right now would be a great time to buy. As i've stated many times before: Do not buy just cause the price is going up.

You see if you just have a bit of patience then you'll find a dip which will be the perfect time for you to accumulate bitcoin at. Right now the price is at $3600, which is a $600 discount from the $4100-4200 level you wanted to buy at.

Still though i think price has potential to go down some further. Only buy with some, not all of yoru funds.
199  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is it good to invest on TerraMiner on: September 23, 2017, 12:22:33 AM
is it good to invest on is it good to invest on TerraMiner   http://terraminer.io

This is essentially a cloud mining service with an ICO.

If you think about it, all they are doing different to say genesis mining is have a nice site with nice mission statements and an ICO that will only benefit them. The profit level is way too high as well, legit sites will be nowhere close to 3 month ROI.

I would NOT recommend investing.
200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Charlie Lee: Chinese bitcoin FUD is whale manipulation on: September 23, 2017, 12:20:51 AM
This is extremely plausible. Banning the entire network or bitcoin mining simply does not make any sense for the Chinese government in my opinion. They know that they can't control bitcoin because it is p2p and the funds involved in regulating bitcoin will be much higher than what it is worth.

A group of traders spreading the FUD to gain monetary benefits on their short position. Not surprising if it was true.

Though, even though Charlie lee said that he didn't make any trades he is likely holding bitcoin still. But i tend to side with him right now.
